The cogs rusted. What else could be expected from the passage of time? The melody distorted and twisted. It softened until incomprehensible. It ended with a chord that hung in the air like a final breath - unheard in a vast world where the cacophony never ends.

Hello hello! It’s been a long time hasn’t it? ElusiveTune here. Somehow, I’ve had  the irrational need to write this loser once more, and seeing as this blog is still standing, I figured ‘Well, why not?’  So — here I am! With a few amends to this bozo’s story line which could or could not be added into the mix.

“Then, what’s it like?” she wondered, fussing with a bit of thread that snagged against her nail. She smoothed it out against the fabric and moved to press her hands between her knees, turning a smile up at him.

She was silent.

She was waiting.

She stared expectantly at him like a dog awaiting a treat; or, in this case, a curious girl waiting for her friend to embellish his response.

After so much time she should have known that he wasn’t going to elaborate---but, after so much time he should have known that Erika wouldn’t let the subject slip away so easily. 

“Do you dream in music?”

Namie rolled her eyes at the pickup line. She wasn’t too used to men hitting on her but it did happen. After all, she was gorgeous. But only a few men were usually brave enough to try to even flirt with her since she always had a face that looked like she was in a bad mood.

          ❝Well at least you have good taste.❞

It wasn’t an insult. She wasn’t necessarily disgusted by the strange man’s flirt. Sure he was dressed strangely but he wasn’t bad looking. At least he was sober.

The other day I passed by a store and saw this fucking giant stuffed animal. The first thing that came to mind was "You could stuff a body in there."

     One familiar with gathering information and known for always knowing the in’s and out’s of the city, Izaya was not one to often feel UNSETTLED, yet it was hard to deny the cold shiver that passed along the line of his spine, the tension that slid into the thin set of his shoulders when a familiar voice seemingly crawled across his skin. Same low baritone he had ALWAYS associated with the monster, but this time the words were drawn out, an odd purring undertone that was decidedly unwelcome and just enough for the broker to bite down on the first note of his initial mocking greeting. 

     Instead, crimson hues turned hard, a steady steel enforced under the weight of uncertainty and wariness when he took in the UNUSUAL attire that met his gaze, the oddly relaxed stature and CONFIDENCE that Shizuo was supposed to lack. His lips pursed briefly, turning so as to face the other a little more even as one hand slid “ innocently “ into one of the pockets of his jacket, long fingers tracing along the familiar shape of a switchblade. 

               ❝Who are you?❞

     Because despite the foolish FALSE recognition that resonated within the confines of his twisted mind, this was not Shizuo Heiwajima -- at least not the version he was familiar with.

Well here’s a face he never expected to have so close to his. One that, admittedly, took him a second to recognize as not being the one he originally thought it was. Good thing too, and the attitude shift that follows might be interesting to note– and the way he’s suddenly much less tense.

“Look at those eyes. Not real, are they? Organic, I mean. But then again, is any of you? I haven’t quite figured that out yet.”

;Not a bad guess!! I used to do that a lot when my hair was blue, because my work technically does not allow for ‘outlandish hair’ so I had to tuck and put it up, all sorts of things. One of the looks I was able to get away with was a messy bun because it was technically up but my blue hair tended to fall out anyway because my hair is layered upon layered so messy is my thing!
