This is Elstar Sparkle, the eldest of my three TwiJack nextgen foals. ^^

Here she is having some quality time with her Ma.

I don't mean to brag but i think my Twijack fan foal designs are epic actually.

I feel like I post more about Elstar Sparkle than these gals, so here's an Appleshine and a Twilight Silk :3

Tell us more about Elstar!

*slams hands down onto desk* YEAH OKAY!

This is Elstar Sparkle, and she is my go-to TwiJack foal. I have her more fleshed out than any of the others, and especially in one particular ‘verse of mine, so here we go:

She might be a unicorn, but she’s all about Sweet Apple Acres. She and her earth pony sister Appleshine (who I have yet to redesign properly) are planning to run the farm together.

Elstar takes after Twilight in that she loves to research. El’s focus is more on farming than magic, however. She’s always looking up new ideas, new techniques, running growth experiments and trying to come up with new cultivars of apple.

Her magic itself is reasonably strong, given who her parents are, but she was never all that interested in studying magic itself, much to Twilight’s chagrin. (It’s okay though, because their third and youngest foal, Twilight Silk [also To Be Designed], is definitely into magical stuff.)

Oh! Her name comes from the Elstar apple:

I was looking up apple cultivars one time for good AJ foal names and this one jumped out at me. It feels like it really just fits, y’know?

Real rough lil thing of Elstar Sparkle!

I have come to realise that I very much Fear her mane so I might change it up a bit eventually. It works fine from one particular angle But Then this mess happens.

I wanted to do a quick sketch of all of ‘em together. :O

My finger is feeling a little bit better, so have a potential TwiJack foal!

I have designed... quite a few of these over the years (i’m lov designing mixes of things [see my horrible mistake of a 6-pony oc ship and all their foals, gods], & definitely see the appeal of all the next-gen stuff), but none of them have really, really worked, and I think it’s because I was only using the colour palettes from Twilight and Applejack themselves. While their colours are fairly complimentary (they got that hella good colours of sunset vibe), they don’t exactly mix together in as satisfying a manner as I would like. I feel like the fusion I made of them was alright, but foals? I quite like the peachy colour their coats blend into, but... anyway. I really ought to be using their parents’ colours too, which is what I’ve done here.

Applejack now has the best pool of relatives to dip into for gathering potential colours and design bits. We now know what her parents looked like, and two grandparents, so there’s a lot to work with.

So I borrowed heavily from Pear Butter (lighter coat) and Twilight Velvet (white mane and eyes). I also tried to channel a bit of Grand Pear in the grey-purples and shape of the mane, while also keeping it AJ and Twilight Sparkle-y.

I think she’s pretty cute.

This is Appleshine! The middle TwiJack foal after Elstar Sparkle. She’s the brawn to Elstar’s brain on the farm, not that Shine isn’t pretty smart herself. She’s just not that fussed about academia. She can translate her older sister’s botannical ramblings into concepts that can be comprehended by the average pony, for example.

She’s pretty chill, she tries to take everything in stride.

I’m gonna go on and see if I can design Twilight Silk now. Silk is... you’ll see.
