Last one (for now!) I actually love this one the most, Elowen looks so pretty! It started a little as a vent piece but ended up turning out beautiful so even if it was a vent piece, it helped me to work through that time!

hope u don’t mind me stealing this post to talk about my ocs but:

Thinking on this idea has given me an idea that from a family side of view, since Elowen has a scar across his neck from his near death - Tomomi taking parts of his own foliage to try and hide them because he knows his son is insecure about them, Elowen just having a ring of miscoloured leaves on his rather dark skin from different family members to cover them like its a flower crown, his sister gives him one of her roses, Tomomi gives him leaves, Ashal gives him petals and its kinda a mismatch look but its His and it reminds him of his family so what once made him insecure is now his saving grace 

Elowen trying to repay the favour when Tomomi loses his leg but its way too much and no matter what they do it doesn’t fix the fact he lost that leg so instead as a way to copy it, Elowen and Laihr will doodle flowers and leaves in paint over his metal leg like they’re patching him together

thinking about sylvari grafting pieces of foliage of other sylvari they are close with onto themselves (with the other sylvari's consent of course) as a very intimate kind of body decoration and a sentimental way to always carry their loved ones with them

I have a guilty ship and its called Elowen and Pepin ;;  Elowen is Tomomi’s eldest son & owns the bakery in Divinity’s Reach where he always seems to see the pretty pink sylvari around, he made it his mission to bring him cookies when he seemed down until he’d learn his name

ah yes, any excuse to talk about my Tomonach kids, I use the hc that sylvari parents grow a child together bc screw canon let me have my kids 

first! our eldest and Tomomi’s only son, Elowen! Elowen isn’t Canach’s kid but is actually Keara’s son that Canach eventually adopted. Elowen is the eldest of our 3 but he’s definitely the least like any of them - instead of being interested in fighting or anything of the sort, Elowen is rather soft! He now owns a bakery with Ever ( @commander-luna​​‘s character, Ashal’s wife!) 

Second is my little trickster, Laihr! Laihr was Tomomi & Canach’s first official kid together, she loves to pull pranks and gets into a lot of trouble (its why she might be double trouble with @commander-triangle​​‘s Proto, she will absolutely teach them all the awful pranks and get in so much trouble) but she’s also an unstable elementalist, perks of being Tomomi’s kid is his power, sadly for a sapling she’s still unable to control it and struggles a LOT 

lastly is their youngest, Aurora of the Lunar Skies or Aurora Lunaris, named after Aurora Streike (Tomomi’s second in commander) and also named after the Commander Luna  She took up being an engineer in order to make sure that someone always knew how to take care of her father’s prosthetic & make sure its always in tact. She’s a quiet one but has a lot of ambition like Tomomi. 

(Sadly I don’t have her in game but I’d really love to!)

He also now has a bit of a school boy crush on the pretty pink petal sylvari who lives in the house across from the bakery >:3 

I don’t often play as Elowen but he’s honestly such a good boy & any excuse to hang out with @commander-triangle because I love Matt <333

For context: Elowen is the eldest, his mother is Keara and he was adopted by Canach when Tomomi moved on

Aurora is born after icebrood.

Laihr is just chaotic middle child

- Elowen is baby, he may be the eldest of the tomonach kids but HE IS BABY

- Elowen is aro/ace!

- He, loves, cookies!

- He's actually a fuckin good fighter & works well with Shiro however, he doesn't like to fight

- Laihr is the spikiest of them all and it is VERY obvious that she is Canach's kid, however she was born with a pigmentation issue which is why her skin is a very dark purple over Tomomi's light purple which it was meant to be

- Laihr LOVES fireworks, she thinks theyre the prettiest thing ever!

- Laihr is extremely unsure of who she is or what she is doing but she is really happy to have met Proto - they mean a lot to her & she'd follow them till the end of time

- On the other hand, due to Laihr being an unstable elementalist she is extremely worried she will hurt Proto by accident and could potentially lose them - its a huge fear of hers

- Aurora is named after 2 people important to both Canach and Tomomi - first her name Aurora is from Tomomi's second in commander, Aurora Streike. Second, Aurora's full name is Aurora of the Lunar Skies or Aurora Lunaris. Lunar is a reference to Luna, Tomomi's sister & The Commander

- She taught herself to be an engineer so her dad would NEVER have to suffer disabilities when it came to the fact he only has one leg

- I want her to be good friends with Taimi, they'd be adorable friends

- Aurora is Canach's little girl despite a lot of her life devoted to making sure her dad was okay. She's Canach's little baby

- After icebrood, Tomomi loses a lot. He loses feeling on half of his face & loses sight in one of his eyes. He spends a lot of his healing months feeling completely useless.

Aurora was born towards the end of Tomomi's healing process

She is the reason he didn't crawl back to the Jormag to 'fix' everything. She helped to save him just by being a tiny sapling curious of the world

13) Is your character bothered by the sight of blood? If so, in what way?

Tomomi - Nope! As a Vigil Sergeant AND a healer, he is VERY used to the sight of blood! It doesn’t bother him at all 

Elowen - YES. He hates blood, please never go near him with blood, even the smallest cuts makes him cringe, he HATES it. He’s baby please protect him 

Bonus, my dragon age character because @cosmicteafox mentioned my SON Sari 

Sari - as a child he hated the sight of blood, he refused to hunt because seeing blood made him feel awful however as inquisitor he has gotten used to the sight and it doesn’t bother him as much as it used to - it sadly, feels normal to him now

Right time to make you suffer with lots of typing! 43 and 49 for all our beans! So Tyrese/Velvet, Proto/Laihr, Alec/Reota and Pépin/Elowen if you want! (Coz I'm interested in how those two pick sylvari could work)

WOO! here we go 

43)  What is the first thing that changes when they realize they have feelings for the other?  Tyrese/Velvet - Tyrese becomes more protective like he was protective anyway but it gets to the point that if anyone so much as even makes a joke about hurting Velvet he gets defensive 

Proto/Laihr - tomomi’s dad senses went on alert honestly Laihr was the one to realize and she didn’t know how to act so it was just, awkward, between them until Laihr went to her aunts for help about it and Ashal was like “give them flowers!” so Laihr bought Proto flowers, they were both very confused 

Alec/Reòta - They stopped getting into fights 24/7, they still argued but Reò actually started to LISTEN 

Pépin/Elowen - Tall baker boy started to drop off more freshly baked cookies for local pink plant with tiny love notes on them 

49)  What do they do when they’re away from each other? Tyrese/Velvet - Ty is very sad, he hates being away from Velvet but usually Inki distracts him 

Proto/Laihr - its usually because Laihr has gone home so Laihr is busy at the time, I’m not entirely sure what Proto does BUT eventually Laihr starts to invite them in to her family home and for family dinners 

Alec/Reòta - its because Reò is causing problems and Alec has to go stop his chaotic boyfriend from turning a village into an icicle 

Pépin/Elowen - Its either because Pépin was found out to be sneaking out or because Elowen has gone home to Vabbi with his dads, either way - its usually because they don’t choose to be apart but are forced apart

Elowen - he owns a bakery with his aunt & he would always save a bag of cookies, freshly baked for people who look like they need them & will go around to the slums giving people freshly baked cookies free of charge 

Nimhe - ze is deathly afraid of the other scions & tends to keep to hirself most of the time, ze has a giant mordrem hound that keeps hir company however

Areya - before their hair turned white due to their celestial form, they ALWAYS had blue hair & their son ended up copying them because of it 

Vivilasia - Viv is always worried she will never be able to love again after the father of her child left - she, however, did not realize that Aveline had been always waiting for her & was already setting up her house so it was safe for Vivilasia’s baby, Tethran. Vivi & Aveline are now some very happy mums with their tiny elf child

🗣️ 🎁 For Elowen!

🗣️ There have only been two times he’s been told things that broke his heart, usually, he surrounds himself with people that love him. The first instance was when he was told that his mother, Keara, didn’t want him anymore and that he was being given to a sergeant of the Vigil - of course, that sergeant turned out to be his father, Tomomi but at the time he didn’t know that and it was very frightening for him. The second instance was when he was told he wouldn’t be able to meet his Aunt Ashal, ever. Despite them having very similar tastes in a lot of things - sadly Ashal has a revenant companion and due to Elowen himself being a revenant, other revs manage to spook him quite a lot as he isn’t sure who they’re with in the mists and how they deal with the voices so he tends to avoid them.  However! It is fairly easy to cheer Elowen up, gentle hugs & soothing words are music to his ears! He loves any sort of affection 

🎁 Elowen loves to give! He hates to receive items, a perfect gift would be something pink, like a new scarf or some new gloves! He loves to wear pink & also loves to bake with pink icing! I wouldn’t say he’s good at gifting but he does enjoy it, very often he will bake extra cookies & cakes for his friends so he can give them to them when they visit the bakery! The worst gift you could give Elowen is something spooky, Elo scares easily so even the smallest prank gift can scare him a lot.

thank you for the ask!! I’m gonna use a random number gen for my gw2 ocs but here we go: 1) List five basic facts about your OC. Jai Latica - my sylvari engineer!  here she is:

5 facts are  - She’s blind! She relies mostly on being able to feel what material she is using  - she’s my youngest sylvari oc! She’s not even 1 year old yet!  - she’s named after my best friend (more a personal fact than an oc fact) - she’s fascinated by revenants and would love to meet one, one day, but so far has not  - Jai likes to assign objects to people so when she thinks of a person - she’ll think of their object or colour. It helps her to remember names 2) Post a line of dialogue from your OC. Nyxarenn, my mesmer dragonvari - “Please stop jumping through random portals, I might lose you one day”  Nyxie was talking to @commander-luna‘s dragonvari, Sol (Will be uploading screens and story for Nyxarenn and Solaris soon!)  9) Your OC is having a nightmare. What is it? Tomomi Hayashi, my oldest & my one of my mains - he’s a sylvari weaver His nightmare is about his time as a minion of Jormag, having dealt with Mordremoth & everything else - he never expected to fall under the dragon’s command so when he’s brought out of it again he spends around a year recovering, he very often will get nightmares and wake up in the middle of the night to a cold grasp on his arm, it can take Canach hours to calm him down and sometimes they don’t even get back to bed afterwards  15) Your OC is given the chance to go back in time. Where do they go and what do they do? this one I actually want to do two on, the random gen gave me Elowen but I want to write for Elowen and Sonas so Elowen would want to go back to see his mother one more time - tell her that she did a good job, that he’s okay Sonas is my ascalonian, she never expected to be woken up 300 years after her death so she would want to go back - as much as this new world is open to the idea of her romance with a charr, this world also has none of her friends in it, everyone she ever knew is gone and dead so if she had a chance. She would go back to be with her friends and family

this is definitely longer than a sentence but its also a fic I’m unsure if I’ll ever finish writing - its Tomomi meeting Elowen for the first time:

“Let me see him” he spoke up, shocking mostly everyone in the room – he had a reputation for being silent, for being the silent shadow of the room with no input. Keara nodded to him, letting him take her position, he oh so gently moved his body so he could rest the sapling’s head in his lap. Carefully looking at the cuts along his neck – a dagger, that much was for sure. Not a sword or anything similar, it had been a dagger. Most likely one of the courtiers trained in shadows. 

Like Lethia.

Tomomi’s pale purple skin seemed to hesitate as he traced a finger across the sapling’s neck. “What’s his name?” he asked quietly, his eyes not leaving the sapling’s skin as he attempted to focus his elemental magic to water – a healing and soothing magic that even made the room feel colder than it had been originally. His hands now leaving a gentle mist against the young sapling’s throat, stitching the wounds together.

“His name is Elowen. He’s my eldest” Keara spoke softly, kneeling down beside where Tomomi had taken her place, her eyes filled with sorrow as she knew that it would be almost impossible to save him. “I should prepare him for the dream.” She added. There was a moment of silence in the room. A deafening silence that stretched out, Keara had by all accounts, failed at her job of being a mentor to saplings. Tomomi knew that if Elowen died, she would have to find something else to work towards. He knew how hard she had worked for this. “No.” Tomomi spoke up, louder than before, “No, I won’t let him die”

3) What is/was your character’s relationship with their father like? Tomomi is a protective but still a good father to Elowen. They used to be extremely close when Tomomi still lived in the Grove with the rest of their family but with Tomomi moving to Vabbi & Elowen moving to Divinity’s Reach, they slowly became a bit more strained. Elowen still cares VERY MUCH for his father but they don’t talk as often 

7) Does your character have recurring themes in their nightmares? Yes. Always about his revenant stances. The people from the mists terrify him to this day. He will never EVER be over the fear of looking Mallyx in the eye and having Shiro attack him.

31) Describe a scenario in which your character feels most uncomfortable. Hmm, honestly probably would be when her sister died, feeling Luna die broke their connection and it left Ashal feeling a LOT of pain. She struggled a lot and its probably the most uncomfortable she’s been in a while
