thinking about watching a movie where jacob elordi is in it w gojo and he gets jealous that you are crushing on the actor + he’s taller than him 😭
good lord he’d be so dramatic 😭 you’re all cozied up on the couch snacks on your lap, lights off and he’s hoping for netflix & chill but you cockblock him by dreamily sighing each time jacob elordi is on screen and he tries to brush it off at first, he rly does even though it sooo rubs him the wrong way and i feel like he’d be more pissed at the actor than you 😭 he’s past his limit when you dodge his attempt to kiss you (yes he is pettily trying to prove jacob who you belong to smh) simply bc you want to savor the scene with jacob so you put your hand on his face and push him away…which is by far your biggest mistake bc that’s when he pauses the movie, crosses his arms and with the most serious expression on his face asks if you don’t love him anymore and yes he makes it into a big deal. a river of dramatic questions & statements follows after that — “you’re into brunettes now?”, “if i dye my hair like his, will you look at me and sigh the same way?”, “you think he’s taller than me? seriously?????, “you like his abs better?” while lifting his shirt up, “he looks like he skips leg day 😒”…………….. at some point he’s like “so if i said angelina jolie was super hot you wouldn’t get mad???” and you’re like “no bc she rly is super hot” and then he gets jealous of her too, there’s no end to his tantrum unless you let him fill you up, he has to prove a point to jacob okay
alternatively if you’re at the movies it’s relatively the same but since he can’t pause the movie he instead yells “homewrecker” every time jacob is on screen and it is very embarrassing 😞
ALSO sidenote, satoru is said to be over 1.90m so we don’t know his exact height but he is at least 2m to me :>

did u see this whole millie bobby brown disclosure? Her saying that she doesn’t watch movies because she thinks it’s too long and she can’t just sit and watch. and this is sadly typical behavior from nepo babies and those kids that were essentially made to be actors by their parents. they don’t feel real love for the craft but get so many opportunities than other actors that study cinema and are very knowledgeable barely get.
but i think only actors that love cinema are able to transcend and work for a long time. a lot of people were calling Austin Butler pretentious but I find his knowledge of cinema admirable. chalamet also got called pretentious once for referencing a lot of movies but I find that normal because studying cinema as an actor should be your job? it’s part of the preparation? A look at the career both of them have… it’s easy to know when an actors loves the craft by how they speak, Florence’s hot wings interview was very insightful and you can tell she pays attention to every element of filmmaking.
For instance, I remember watching an interview w Tom Holland and I find him a charming guy but I really dislike how he once joked and made fun of a very valid question about studying process for a role - it doesn’t seem that he takes the craft that seriously and I find the instances of where he didn’t know who certain directors were and when he said Scorsese couldn’t direct a Marvel film so crazy considering how he has been the pioneer of so many “blockbuster” in its time, and his lack of cinema knowledge shows in the quality of his choices for roles.
I feel a lot of actors don’t realize that by saying things like they they get a lot of doors slammed in their face.
I'm late replying again sorry but all of this, yes. I tried not thinking about it too much but it definitely irks me. And I think there are a loooot of people of tbh all ages that feel this way. But it does particularly suck for someone making movies to feel this way? (I did see some conversation on twitter between people who actually work on film sets and they said this is common, particularly among like crew members like gaffers, lighting, etc etc.)
YES. This is why when "pretentious" discourse goes around because like Jacob Elordi talks about Marlon Brando (not his method acting, but just his acting) or old movies, people make fun of him and say he's just a try-hard hipster. But maybe... he loves acting and wants to improve his craft? Like, I agree. It's something that should come from a place of love and wanting to get better. We can't all be Hugh Grant and annoyed at the world all the time lmao. And like you said, same with Austin, Timothee, hell, remember the Jeremy Strong "dramaturgical" discourse that people freaked out about for a week because he used... a common theater word? Lmfao.
It's like, when letterboxd does their asking an actor or director their four favorites, there's always people in the comments saying they don't believe that an old French movie or hell even a 70s movie (that isn't The Godfather or Star Wars, bc apparently Jaws is pretentious?? LMAO), could be someone's fav and they're lying to look good. But if someone lists a bunch of animated Disney children's movies, La La Land, and Scott Pilgrim then they must be telling the truth. Maybe they both are? But god it's so frustrating to think that having taste beyond the basics is pretentious. Like, people call CHRISTOPHER NOLAN MOVIES PRETENTIOUS. Just because something is mildly to extremely clever or smart doesn't mean it's pretentious :)
Rant over lmao.
I need to watch Florence on Hot Ones still but I loved seeing bits of her on the press tour for Oppenheimer and I saw a clip of her and Zendaya talking about the craft of cinematography (linked) and how like Flo told her story about the camera breaking on Oppenheimer, and Z talked about like how she loves sitting in the tent w the Dune cinematographer and learning how everything works. Like, they love filmmaking!!! And I love that! This is how actors become better, and can produce, and even direct successfully. (Z I think definitely will. She'd had plans to direct at least one Euphoria ep but of course shitshow that it is, it hasn't happened yet.)
But yeah agreed about Tom Holland it's all soooo. Idk. You can very much tell when someone really loved movies and the process of how they are made, or not. And that's the truth whether someone's favorite movie is Godzilla v. Kong or Breathless. But yes!!! I truly don't understand why they say things like that, like... unless you want a door closed, don't close it for no reason! Lmao. Ayo Edebiri has talked about this recently.
I really don't get that w Scorsese of all people too like... all his movies are fucking popcorn movies. It's all cinema but who the hell is thinking Goodfellas is boring? Or The Aviator? Hell, I just watched Alice Doesn't Live Here Anymore. It has a batshit opening and is suuuch a fast-paced movie for what it is like, about a woman coming to terms w loss and making it on her own w her annoying kid (affectionate) and domestic violence I just ?? I don't get it myself! And pretending Scorsese actually has a war against Marvel is stupid as fuck. I wish he did! Someone should.

lol paul and harris both have way more interesting and plentiful roles than joe..
Harris Dickinson A+++ actor so true household name basically Brad Pitt fuck Joe Alwyn lol. Harris and Paul already shouldn’t be compared (the latter has an Academy Award which isn’t regular or normal or anything for someone who’s starting out as an actor like that doesn’t normally happen??? And it’s not necessarily a great thing longterm because if you look at people with early Oscar noms many then struggled for work because they become expensive so let’s see how he does, I’m rooting for him), the former is like idk doing his thing and I like him but let’s not pretend Harris Dickinson is having a Jacob Elordi moment (now that’s impressive, good for Jacob for hustling and going from Kissing Booth to all these serious things and retaining a fanbase while courting critics too - that’s a career doing super well). I can guarantee if I swapped the names Joe and Harris around you’d be running around telling me no one knows who he is and how critics totally hated and dunked on Crawdads (even though it made money so actually fuck the critics). I also think even a lot of people who watched Crawdads don’t know Harris’s name. Which is… okay? It’s not a bad thing? It’s good? Everyone’s doing fine??? I like Harris? I’m not delusional about his career tho and comparing him to Paul (who has the Aftersun Academy Award nom thing) or like Jacob Elordi (who is legit well on his way to becoming a full on A list household name).
I literally don’t understand why some of you hate Joe Alwyn so much like the man has done nothing worth being hated for. He just does projects and chills like-

It’s very interesting to consider how they will file the Polin love scenes. Partly because I can’t think of many (if any) plus-size female romance scenes that aren’t played for humour at the woman’s expense or where she has to be deeply insecure about her body the whole time and so is filmed mostly covered up.
Obviously it depends on the comfort of the actors but my main concern which is really shallow is the 12 inch height difference which makes Pen and Colin look really awkward on screen. Phoebe and Simon only have a 6inch difference for scale. I’m worried they will skimp out on any good season one style love scenes to avoid it looking awkward on camera. I’m thinking they’ll go safe which is so boring.
Hey! Thank you for sharing this interesting point of yours :) In all honestly, I don’t find Polin’s height difference to be that awkward. On the contrary, I really love it and see it as rather aesthetically pleasing and... very sexy in some ways! I feel like the level of hotness radiated by their upcoming love scenes will highly depend on the visual storytelling, on the choices of the camera angles— the way they’ll focus on the bodies’ movements and espouse our characters’ feelings, enhancing the colorful erotic shade of their relationship.
Plenty of sex scenes featured actors in movies and series despite a considerable height difference. For instance, we can think of Euphoria’s Alexa Demie and Jacob Elordi. Thanks to a specific color palet for the lightning, the scores and a large range of shots chosen to increase intimacy between two characters, viewers are immersed in this steamy atmosphere. They present themselves as useful tools which meticulously help creating physical and emotional intimacy between two people— these tools underlining their common story which naturally fuel the burning carnal desire they feel for one another. You can check this interesting little video concerning this topic in the hit-series Normal People. It reveals the key elements needed to its creation : chemistry, comfort and getting to know the character you play.
With that being said, I don’t think Luke and Nicola’s twelve inches of difference can work in their disfavor nor that it risks to be accidentally cringy. Though a certain cringe of another nature could appear mainly due to the way both Penelope and Colin were portrayed in season 1. Young, uncertain and shy, they don’t stand, walk nor behave confidently like their elders, not when they’re actually making their first steps into the world. By the time the future seasons come out, some radical changes are yet to be seen, first in their personalities then in their physical appearances, making them the self assured and experienced adults they are meant to be. Thus, we, (especially the readers), won’t struggle to picture them being all horny and naughty after the amount of cuteness they served us in s1 ahah.
About the sex itself, in Romancing Mister Bridgerton, Colin is very conscious of his imposing 6 foot-ness which will push him to be even more careful with our (5’1) Penelope when he initiates intimate touches with her. He doesn’t want to intimidate her. He makes sure to not crush her with his weight on the plush cushion of the carriage/of the soft mattress of his bed when he places himself on top of his love and passionately kisses her. He even pulls her on top of him at some point to make her feel comfortable with his body (and the proof of his need). It’s a nice call back to the scene in Chapter 18 where Colin, before deflowering Penelope, is very concern about hurting her or doing anything she doesn’t like during the act. To what she lovingly answers “Let me be the judge”, meaning that Pen’s pleasure is put in the center of his attention... or a wonderful mark of the female gaze : Penelope takes her own agency in the deep exploration of her sexuality. Those elements are most likely to be translated on screen through the uses of close ups on their faces, eyes, hands and other body parts... and DIALOGUE ! It will be so adorable seeing Colin eager to put her needs before his and making sure that Penelope is enjoying herself as much as he does.
I don’t know what our couple are willing to show but I’m still hoping we get the same type of steamy scenes Daphne/Simon and Anthony/Siena had in season 2 (and why not more lol)— IF, like you said, the actors are comfortable with nudity obviously (which they’ve probably signed up for). Once again, I feel like it’ll be very gripping to see a plus-size woman’s half naked body in a period drama getting the same depiction as a slim one, showing that curviness doesn’t prevent you from being desirable or sexy to the eye of your significant other as well as the mainstream public.
In any case, I’m sure Lizzy Talbot, Bridgerton’s intimacy coordinator, and the directors will perfectly know how to stage and depict this fondamental aspect of the show, aka hot!Polin, on screen. Hell, they can even surprise us, innovate, by not necessarily being “boring” but still going safe. They’re a fan favorite couple so I have faith in what the production has in store for us and for our boos. After all, the show already set its tone in season 1 : it’s lavish and sexy as hell. Plus, Chris Van Dusen and Jonathan Bailey said in previous interviews that season 2 will be even more sexier... so yeah, season 3 and 4 are definitely following on from this. Even Nicola and Luke are very fan of the ship and the fandom’s love for them ^^. Either way, having a very long slow burn like Polin will be such a wild ride and trust me, when the payoff’ll finally arrive, imma savor every second of it!

Ranking every Teen Drama I have ever watched
(Updated)
The Secret Life of the American Teenager
+ young Shailene Woodley and Molly Ringwald I guess
- everything else. Even Shailene Woodley's and Molly Ringwald's performances weren't that great because the writing is just oh so bad. The background music is bland and repetative and it sounds like out of some teenager's YouTube chanel. The plotlines are ridiculous and convoluted, which isn't neccessarily such a bad thing, because it is a teen drama show after all, the problem is the show seems to take itself too seriously. Other entries on this list also have ridiculously convoluted plotlines, but I'm ranking them highed because they don't take themselves too seriously and don't claim to be realistic like this show does. Seriously, from the title it suggests like this was going to be a real, uncensored look into high school but it's the furthest thing from it. Not to mention how problematic it is- God forbid someone suggests that a 14-year-old pregnant girl gets an abortion or gives the baby up for adoption without being seen as a terrible and despicable person.
Otp: Marc Molina x a job somewhere far, far away from these kids
Notps: every single pairing on this show
Best moment: literally none
Weirdest moment: "I'm such a whore!" "Well, you're my whore." What were the writers thinking??? Was this supposed to be romantic??
We Children From Zoo Station
+the aesthetic, the casting of Christiane, Detlef and Axel
-this was such a letdown. Honestly I was so hyped for it after seeing the trailer since I've read the book and didn't particularly like the movie- I feel like it's hard to fit all of Christiane's story into 90 minutes. That's why I was so excited about this show. Christiane's story covers so much, so it's easier to make it into a TV show when you don't want to ommit anything and butcher the story. But they somehow managed to do it anyway. They changed so much for no reason and completely erased Christiane's childhood trauma, which was important in the book. Now, I know you can say that it's just a loose adaptation, so it doesn't have to follow the book word for word. But I feel like if you already decided to tell her- a real person's story- you should at least do it authentically. Imo they shouldn't have tried to make the setting vague. It worked with Sex Education because the story of Sex Education is timeless. However, Christiane's story is not timeless. It's a true story set in the 1970s. If they were making a new show from scratch, I would have liked it. But this is an already existing story and they’re supposed to be just retelling it. My last issue is a nit pick but I wish the actresses playing Stella and Babsi were reversed. It just would've fit better.
Otps: all those kids x sobriety
Notp: Christiane x Detlef
Best moment: Christiane's first time in Sound was pretty true to the book
Weirdest moment: when Detlef became a gigolo because he needed money for his dog. Who tf thought of that?
Pretty Little Liars
+ makeup, style, the theme song, the drama and mystery that always kept me guessing, the cliffhangers at the end of each episode that made it so addictive, Emily's coming out story, Hanna and Spencer had some good lines
- the mishandling of some serious issues (namely eating disorders), romantization of student-teacher relationship, the timeline not making much sense, these writers seem to put more thought into the characters' outfits than the storylines
Otps: Emily x Maya, Hanna x Caleb
Notp: Ezria
Best moment: Hanna and Caleb in the shower (the sexual tension was cuttable with a knife)
Weirdest moments: Aria asking Ezra out in the middle of a make-up test (it was supposed to be cute but it was just cringy), Spencer trying to block A's text messages on a laptop, in the middle of a park (what? Spencer, you were supposed to be the smart one!)
One Tree Hill
+ Brooke, the theme song, Chad Michael Murray
- the casual drinking and driving (I mean seriously these kids play a drinking game at a party and then casually hop into a car and drive home??), too much basketball and cheerleading (that's not a bad thing per se but I just don't really care about neither of these things), it just seems too stereotypical and kinda bland?? I couldn't really get into it
Otp: Naley
Notp: Peyton x Nathan
Best moment: Naley by the dock
Weirdest moment: "I guess I'm just a riddle, wrapped in a mystery inside a bitch." It's not really a bad moment but a cringy line. I guess the writers though they were being clever but it just sounded bad.
Dawson's Creek
+ the clothes, the 90s aesthetic, the 90s soundtrack, many movie references, Pacey is a sweetheart, Jen is a feminist icon, dealing with mental health issues through Andie (it's rare to see in shows as old as this)
- the slutshaming of Jen really hasn't aged well, the storyline of Pacey being statury raped by his much older teacher was mishandled (it was either treated as scandalous, cool or in Andie’s case somehow shameful), same goes for Jen’s backstory- it was mentioned she was raped at 12 by an older man and then never brought up again, Dawson is the most unlikable protagonist ever and his friendship/relationship with Joey is codependent and possessive, the dialogue is sometimes pretentious and unrealistic, the timeline doesn't really add up- I can never tell what time of the year it's supposed to be, because it looks like it's always fall for some reason. And how did they sophomore year have two homecomings?
Otps: Pacey x Andie, Pacey x Joey (yes, both at the same time)
Notp: Dawson x Joey
Best moments: Jen helping Joey when that jerk was spreading rumours about her and then Jen and Joey locking Abby in the closet together (I love it when they stick together instead of tearing each other down), Pacey and Joey bickering
Weirdest moments: when Joey was upset because Dawson didn’t want to tell her how often he “walks his dog”, when Jen was about to have a treesome at a party and Dawson walked into the room and carried her out despite her kicking and screaming
Glee
+ funny, Sue Sylvester's iconic, great covers and a way to find new songs, the performances are aesthetically pleasing, lgbtq+ representation, tackling of serious issues, coming out story, a father who’s accepting of his son’s sexuality right away despite not really understanding it (it’s so rare to see, that’s why it’s so refreshing), the plotlines are ridiculous but at least the show doesn't take itself too seriously
-as I already said the 1st season was great but after that it just seemed like the writers made up a checklist of hard issues they should tackle and tried to tackle every single one of them while covering every single song and it just fell flat. Prime example- Quinn ending up in a wheelchair getting into a car crash to warn us from drinking and driving, singing I’m Still Standing and then suddenly being able to walk normally after. a few episodes Rachel and Finn got almost all songs, while other characters were criminally underrated and underused (Tina, Quinn, Mercedes). The teachers are questionable to put it mildly. Cringy moments- Finn singing You're Having My Baby to Quinn in front of her parents when it wasn't even his baby! Also no one except of Kurt looks like they could be in high school. And why are these cheerleaders wearing their uniforms 24/7??
Otps: Brittana, Sam x Quinn, Tina x Artie (unpopular opinion, I know), Mr Schue x unemployment
Notp: Quinn x Finn
Best moments: Quinn giving birth to Bohemian Rhapsody
Weirdest moment: Rachel's gross and painfully awkward crush on Mr Schue, Mr Schue joining the Glee club on the stage for a performance of Toxic and girls in the audience cat calling him (Ewww)
Euphoria
+ Zendaya's and Jacob Elordi's performances, tackling of serious issues such as drug addiction and overdose, anxiety and depression, abusive relationships and abortion in a better manner than most (if not all) teen dramas, the aesthetics, makeup and wardrobe, the musical number in the finale, the special episodes giving us insight into the characters' psychology, toxic relationships not being romanticized (which is sadly rare), teenagers sounding like actual real life teens (no "I reject reality" crap)
- lack of comic relief (why so serious all the time), sexualization of teen characters (I know this is something many teen dramas are guilty of but it's the most evident here), too much nudity (I know some of you are going to come at me with: "But it's realistic!" So what? It is realitic that teenagers get naked when they go into shower but does it mean we have to see it?? It seems to me like this show is trying too hard to be "boundary pushing" at times and ends up being scandalous just for the sake of being scandalous), these characters just aren't believable as high school juniors to me (they sound like high schoolers but they certainly don’t act, look or dress that way). There's no reason this show couldn't have been set in college.
Otps: Rue x sobriety, Nate x prison
Notps: Nate x Maddy, Cassie x McKay
Best moments: "You did this to me!" and the musical number in the season 1 finale
Weirdest moment: the fact that Maddy lost her virginity at 14 to a 40-year-old man being mentioned so casually because apparently she was "totally in control". Excuse me what??
Skins
+ style and makeup- each character has a signature trademark (Sid and his beanie, Effy's eyeliner, Cassie's soft eyeshadow), their British accents, I'm pretty sure this is the only teen drama that follows multiple classes, teenage characters being played by actual teen actors, the characters looking like average people you meet in high school and not as if they just walked off the runway, dealing with serious issues such as drug abuse, eating disorder, parental abandonment etc (yes, some people claim the show romanticized it, but I disagree. It's not the show that romanticized it- it's the fans. The show tried to portray the dangers of drugs as well as possible. Think about it- every time characters used drugs it ended in a disaster. In the pilot they thought that Cassie overdosed and ended up crashing a car while rushing into the hospital. In later season Effy hit her friend in the head with a rock because she was having a bad trip. That's not romanticizing drugs.), Effy is iconic and honestly the first episode was enough to get me hooked
- every single teacher being a creep and having a thing for a student at some point, the show can get too dark and unncessarily dramatic at times. Did that many people have to die? Did Chris's death really have to be this graphic? Timeline doesn't really add up- are 8 episodes supposed to cover the whole year? It would've made more sense if there were more episodes in a season.
Otps: Chris x Jal, Emily x Naomi
Notps: Sid x Michelle
Best moment: ooh baby it's a wild world
Weirdest moment: Chris's graphic death
The OC
+ more grounded in reality than many others on this list, the theme song, the love stories, Seth and Summer are funny, the friendships are believable and the whole group has great chemistry
- too many unneccessary fights, Luke is the worst, everyone is way too casual about drunk driving, these parents are WAAAY too chill (I know this can be said about many teen dramas but it's the most obvious here. How did the Roberts and the Coopers let two 16-year-old girls go to Mexico alone?? With no supervision?? What?)
Otps: Seth x Summer, Ryan x Marissa
Notp: Luke x Marissa
Best moments: the “oh no, there’s only one bed” in the Mexico episode, Seth and Summer's first kiss and that kiss at the yacht, Ryan and Marissa's first date by the pool
Weirdest moment: these parents letting their teenage kids go to Mexico alone. It's irresponsible when they're 16 but apparently they let them go there and party every year. What?
Gossip Girl
+ every episode having a clever title, the style, the makeup, the 00s soundtrack, the glamour of it all (it feels like reading a very gossipy magazine!), all the scandals, this show never pretends to portray the realitic teenage experience so it can pretty much be as far-fetched as it wants to and you can’t question it, it gives you a chance to live the fantasy of being super rich, living with a penthouse, riding a limo to school and going to parties in New York City every night
- the final reveal doesn't make any sense, just like with PLL these writers seemed to have put more thought into the outfits and makeup than into the plotlines, romantization of a toxic relationship, having every two straight characters date or hook up at some point, which just felt forced, mishandling of serious issues (Blair's eating disorder, Eric's suicide attempt and Serena and Jenny's sexual assault from the pilot being brought up when it's convenient but not really dealt with and brushed off at other times), sexualization of teen characters
Otps: Dan x Blair, Serena x Nate
Notps: Chuck x Blair
Best moments: the Thanksgiving flashbacks, Blair and Serena running around New York and taking selfies in stolen dresses, Nate and Serena’s first time (although it was better in the books) and then their kiss at the white party, the sheer scandal of "I killed someone", Dan giving Blair a plastic tiara to make her feel like a princess
Weirdest moments: Chuck's father returning from the death and then dying again, by yeeting himself off the roof
Freaks and Geeks
+ probably the most realistic teen drama there is, the characters dress the way I can see actual teens dressing, funny, but also heatbreaking at times, probably the only teen show that included an intersex character, the characters being a little stereotypical but self-aware at least, young James Franco and Jason Segel
- the bullying being a bit too much at times and it's a bit unrealistic that the teachers would do literally nothing about it, too short- I will never understand why this got cancelled
Otps: Daniel x Kim, Lindsay x Nick, Amy x Ken
Notps: Sam x Cindy
Best moments: Sam breaking down at the end of Garage Door, Daniel and Kim getting back together in the rain
Weirdest moment: Cindy doing a 180 and becoming super mean when she started dating Sam.
Gilmore Girls
+ so many movie, literary and music references, the quotable lines (what a great way to learn about new movies, books and bands! It’s so unique for a TV show to make you smarter), the witty banter, the comfort of the first few seasons (it really feels like wrapping a warm blanket around yourself while holding a hot cup of coffee, I can’t explain why, but it’s such a comfort show), the quirky small town with many unique festivals, many entertaining and snappy fights where everyone has a point, characters dealing with real world problems (seriously, how often do you see a storyline about termites? Or a teenager with zit cream on a teen drama show?), this is also one of the few shows where teenagers are shown to have rules and restrictions and curfews (finally some kids growing up with strict parents representation) and doing homework and studying and not just partying and drinking and having sex all the time and that’s so refreshing
- but while it is refreshing to see teenagers waiting to have sex and not doing it behind every corner, the show is kind of sex negative. Every single time a (female) character loses her virginity it ends in a disaster. Even when she loses it after she’s married! It doesn’t make any sense, unless the writers just really hated women. Also slutshaming (”I got the good kid!”) ewww. The money and budget doesn’t make much sense on the show either and the girls seem immune to calories. I know some people might come at me for this with: “But it’s just a show!” but I think it’s harmful to show beautiful, thin women eat nothing but tons of junkfood all the time and never excersize and then fatshame people who do excersize but aren’t fortunate enough to be blessed with amazing Gilmore genes, and then throw around tactless references to eating disorders.
Otps: Lane x Dave, Jess x Rory
Notps: Lane x Zach, Rory x Dean, Lorelai x Christopher
Best moments: Then She Appeared, Rory’s valedictorian speech, Lorelai’s graduation
Weirdest moment: Lorelai and Christopher getting married in Paris at 4am. That’s not how it works in Europe. Do Americans think every single Europian country works like Las Vegas, where you can just get married whenever you decide??

This episode has my brain spinning in circles! How do you feel about the whole Nate thing? I feel like his dad totally fucked him up to the point where he is actually convinced he is doing the right thing.
Where the hell do I even begin when it comes to Nate.
Before I even get into that I just want to say Jacob Elordi’s acting is insane. It takes a lot of patience and understanding of the entire spectrum of emotions to take on a role like Nate. It can be emotionally and often physically exhausting and takes a very strong and intelligent person to portray these types of characters the way Jacob has, and I am so grateful he was offered this role cause I really don’t think anyone else was meant to play it. I know from following him on social media and watching his interviews that Heath Ledger is a huge inspiration for him, and I honestly think Heath would be extremely proud of the actor and individual that Jacob has become and the hard work he put into this role and any role he takes on.
Now that the most important part has been said. Nate.
I know that we are all suppose to be on the “Nate should die!” bandwagon but here’s the thing, I don’t hate Nate, I hate what he became as a person, I hate every fucking factor that got him to this point, and I hate that his brain of so warped by these insanely toxic abusive viewpoints and ideals that his dad forced on him and drilled into his brain from a young age all the way up until now to the point where the guy is literally stalking a person and beating them close to death to defend his girlfriend who he doesn’t even know is being honest or not, is being physically aggressive with the same girlfriend because she caused a scene with his parents, and was catfishing a girl in order to blackmail her to protect his family. He has lived his whole life being told he has to be this exact type of person or else he is a failure and it has literally destroyed him as a human.
That being said, I feel like there is a part of him that just wants to be able to break away from this image and not have have to worry that everything will come crashing down around him. I think he looks at his brother and the fact that his dad has zero respect for him and has completely convinced himself that if he does even a single thing like his brother he is worthless. And then you have the fact that his dad, while fucking disgusting on so many levels, has provided this “perfect” life for him, and he knows that if who his dad really is somehow gets revealed all of that can be gone instantly. I truly believe that Nate lives in a constant state of fear. Fear of himself, fear of his father, fear of everyone and everything, but he chooses to mask that fear with aggression and an ego dripping with toxic masculinity.
As far as him being able to turn his life around. I think it’s possible, but there are a lot of factors that would have to come into play in order for that to be a possibility, and it has to be handled extremely well. I think romance needs to be removed from the equation till his whole viewpoint on sex, sexuality, love, and the treatment of women as a whole is fixed. He clearly needs to rediscover all aspects of who he is as an individual separate from what his father has trained him to be.
I know many people will hate hearing this, but I feel like the reason he was so good at switching from this caring understanding person to this soulless heartless shell of a human is because he deep down wants to be the person we saw a glimpse of with Jules, and little glimpses of with Maddy, but his whole life he has been told not to show any sign of weakness or actually let people in, so he has trained himself to switch those emotions off at the drop of a hat. But if you notice the one emotion he can’t seem to turn off is anger, and I think that’s because to him anger is literally what he was told is the way he is suppose to be at all times to appear as strong and unbreakable. To him anger isn’t an emotion, is a lifestyle.
So yeah, sorry If that is a lot to take in, but yeah that is basically my take on Nate right now, I am sure throughout the episodes and hopefully future seasons my opinion of his character will be in a constant state of change.
Note: I in no way condone any of the toxic choices that Nate has made and I am looking forward to seeing how they handle him dealing with the backlash of those choices in the upcoming episodes.

Rom com lovers alike have been obsessed with Netflix’s ‘The Kissing Booth’ — or maybe just more so obsessed with Joey King and Jacob Elordi’s relationship that stemmed from the movie, but that’s beside the point. Anyway, the film has received a cult-like following since its release and if you’re looking for some other teen rom coms – or just rom coms in general to watch in between your Kissing Booth viewings, here are five movies similar to the film that are also available on Netflix for your viewing pleasure. First on our list is ‘F the Prom’ which actually features ‘The Kissing Booth’s Joel Courtney aka Lee Flynn from the movie. Joel actually plays a pretty similar role in ‘F the Prom’ where he’s best friends with the lead female character, Maddy Datner. Unfortunately in the film the two end up growing apart only to reunite once again to extract revenge and sabotage prom. Don’t worry, there’s definitely a little bit of rom sprinkled into that com. Next up is an oldie but goodie: ‘The Duff.’ Now I know this film was released a few years ago, but it has all the makings of a classic teen rom com with a TON of high school drama sprinkled in – just like ‘The Kissing Booth!’ ‘Candy Jar’ is also another great high school rom com to check out. The film came out just weeks before ‘The Kissing Booth’ made its debut and focuses on these two super smart rivaling students who end up working together and then…well I’m pretty sure you can figure out what ends up happening from there. Although it does seem a little predictable, what rom com isn’t?! But if you wanna trade in the high school drama for some work dramz or maybe more of an adult rom com type situation, the latest Netflix originals ‘Set It Up’ and ‘Ibiza’ might be more your speed. ‘Set It Up’ is basically a modern day co-worker’s version of ‘The Parent Trap’ with these two assistants sneakily setting up their bosses with each other so that they can have more free time in their lives. While ‘Ibiza’ takes us all far away from the office and into the party scene that Ibiza has to offer. Plus if you were super into Elle’s awkward antics from The Kissing Booth and thought everything she said and did is comedy gold, you’re definitely gonna love ‘Ibiza.’ Let us know which of these movies you’re planning on watching in the comment section below. Thanks for watching!
