syn. a compilation of moments of lando and his girlfriend during drive to survive season 7. none of the episodes are according to the actual dts season, i made em all up for the plot :)

[season 7 episode 1]

[scene: paddock walk, bahrain]

the cameras catch you walking beside lando, trying to keep up with his long strides. he’s mid-conversation with his engineer but still reaches back to grab your hand absentmindedly. “lando, mate, focus,” his engineer laughs.

“i am focused,” lando insists, barely sparing him a glance. “just also making sure she doesn’t get lost.” the editors cut to you rolling your eyes, but the mic picks up the way you mumble, “yeah, wouldn’t want to get left behind again.”

“one time!” lando groans, looking straight at the camera like it’s an episode of the office.

[episode 2]

[scene: pre-race grid, singapore]

the cameras catch you adjusting the collar of lando’s race suit while he stands still, arms at his sides. it’s a quick, quiet moment—one that’s almost drowned out by the chaos around you.

“you good?” you ask. lando nods but doesn’t let go of your wrist when you pull away. “yeah.”

the broadcast cuts to the starting grid, but fans later notice that just before he puts his helmet on, he taps the top of it twice—something he’s never done before.

[episode 3]

[scene: mclaren garage, monaco]

it’s been a tough quali for lando and he is slumped on the chair in the garage eyes lowered down and chest heaving from the heat in the cockpit. the camera shows you walking upto him and sitting down next to him, leaning forward to look at him in his eyes.

the camera catches you crouching beside him, peeling an orange for him.

lando only has enough energy to simply nod and jerk forward with a sigh at the pressure of the performance he has to put on tomorrow for a good result. the camera captures the quiet moment of unspoken support.

your hands coming behind him massaging his neck, lando leaning into the touch head thrown down. sometimes mumbling supportive words to him.

[episode 4]

[scene: paddock post race, silverstone]

lando won. lando had won the silverstone grand prix — his home race. the mclaren garage was a cacophony of screams and yells of happiness as the camera showed different montages of the shared joy.

it landed on you showing tears in your eyes and your folded hands covered your face, eyes bright staring at the screen looking at lando turn into his victory lap.

the camera stilled on you long enough to catch you send a prayer with your eyes closed and the biggest smile on your face. the next time you’re on screen it’s lando rushing towards you suit and helmet on, into your arms. you kiss his helmet and lando rubs your back.

[episode 5]

[scene: post-race debrief, japan]

it was a shitshow of a race. lando finished p9 after a last-lap battle that he should have won. the cameras catch the way he storms into the garage, jaw tight, hands curled into fists.

he yanks off his helmet and slams it onto the table. the crew gives him space, but you don’t. you’re already there, waiting, arms crossed.

“lando,” you say softly. “don’t,” he snaps, not looking at you.

the netflix mic catches the way you inhale sharply, but you don’t walk away. instead, you grab a towel and push it into his hands. “you need to breathe.” lando talks to you venting it out as the audio changes to background commentary— although his frustration was visible.

later, netflix editors choose not to include what he mutters next. “i just didn’t want to let you down.”

but lip-readers figure it out anyway.

[episode 6] [scene: media pen, post-race, silverstone]

“lando, you had an incredible drive today. p1 at your home race! how are you feeling?”

lando, still a little breathless, grins at the sky before looking at the interviewer. “yeah, buzzing. car was mega, team did an amazing job. it’s just…” he trails off, looking past the camera.

the interviewer follows his gaze—to where you’re standing just outside the media pen, wearing one of his hoodies over your sundress, smiling at him. lando’s face softens, his whole demeanor shifting.

“yeah,” he says again, eyes still on you. “pretty good day.”

the internet loses its mind.

You can guess Time is my favorite ELO album; Eldorado is another. A New World Record is great, I should listen to it again

Oooh, Time is amazing! I can definitely understand it being a big source of inspiration, it's a really cool story concept... are you a big science fiction fan? I'm a huge fan of the show Red Dwarf, and while Time has a very different story, there's enough similarities that I really associate the two lol

I don't listen to much modern stuff... not because I think it's bad or anything, I just get really into specific pigeonholes and don't leave them as much as I should 😅 Like, when I was in my big CSNY phase, I think I spent pretty much that whole year listening to as much LA folk rock as I could, which was a lot of music, so I just didn't really listen to anything else haha. Someday I'll probably get that same itch about a modern act, but it hasn't happened yet... the closest I can think of is a few years back when I went on a huge Barenaked Ladies binge 😂 (Incidentally: kinda underrated band! Their album tracks are better than their hits imo)

Hi! So this is looooonnng overdue but I'm just really shy and there's a couple things I wanna say so bear with me 😅

Firstly I wanna thank you and @danidrabbles for writing Triumvirate. It's of the best Javi P fics I've read and one of my favorite series ever. I cannot tell you how often I think about Javi, reader, and Katie like they're constantly on my mind, and as a bi-curious girlie let's just say this story made me have some realizations... 🤭 The way you guys write flows so naturally, the smut is so hot but the tenderness and angst are right on par. The characterizations and plot development are exquisite. I seriously can't wait for the next part(s) and for Javi and Katie to break a certain rule 👀 But also, bring on the heartbreak!!

Secondly, since you said you're open to requests, I'd die for another Javi one-shot like you did with Marks. Perhaps something with a secret workplace romance vibe where reader is also in the DEA? Or something in the TEU (that's Triumvirate Extended Universe) like the night Javi used handcuffs on the reader? Or whatever you want honestly anything you come up with is bound to be 😙🤌

Thirdly I just wanna say I love your blog and your tags in particular; I can almost always tell when a reblog is yours just from the tags lol. You were the first blog I followed in the Pedro fandom iirc because of the JPHM gifs (iconic btw) and I'm so glad I did :)

triumvirate is so important to me, you have no idea, because i started writing it around the same time i was finally willing to admit to myself that i'm bi, and it actually started out as this hungover idea that quickly evolved into so much more, mostly thanks to dani @danidrabbles. we're currently working on the next part but i think it's still gonna take some time. but i'm screaming about you saying it made you have some realizations!!! it sounds like a true reader-insert moment for you 🤭

i would love to write another javi one-shot because he's one of my favorite characters to write for!!! i'm either gonna make it a stand-alone one-shot or something that's part of the TEU (i'm obsessed with that abbreviation btw i'm gonna use it all the time from now on)!! so i will definitely keep the office romance and/or the handcuffs in mind 👀 i'm currently in the middle of writing a multi-chapter joel story though, so it might take me some time to get to the javi fic (however, i can promise you if you enjoyed triumvirate you will also enjoy the joel fic very much, it's also about how to navigate complicated relationships)

Since I don’t feel like I have enough energy to write my next chapter for my story tonight, why don’t i recommend another HELLA good haikyuu fic with lots of iwaoi and other pairings too! A Fast and Furious AU by the lovely oiivkawa

For an esteemed racer, intended for the big leagues, owning a garage and racing on the streets should feel like settling rather than a dream. But Oikawa is happy as long as he's behind the wheel of a car; until a misstep lands him a heavy fine, and a crumbling future.

Having grown up in one of the roughest neighbourhoods in Tokyo, Iwaizumi is no stranger to the mob life. He's a man of action, someone who does what he's asked without any questions. This is a seriously underrated fic, I can’t believe I haven’t seen anyone recommend this on tumblr yet! Like please, do yourself a favor and read this, even if you’re not super into cars or whatever, you will not regret it! Though it’s currently unfinished, there’s more than enough beautiful chapters to keep you satisfied! Great character building and definitely on the “total worldbuild for an AU” fic list. The slowest of the burnnns damn it nearly killed me but the payoff’s so worth it fam. Enjoy reading and go follow this writer on tumblr!

Favorite time of the year?

Oooooooh it’s fall. I love thunderstorms in the fall, the crackle of energy in the air before everything breaks apart. The not too cold days, but definitely hoodie weather ones? Oh yeah. The wind when it whips dead leaves against the pavement and the sky is grey and you feel like you are walking in a Goosebumps book? That’s the good shit right there.

Comfort food?

It’s cheeseburgers. I fucking love cheeseburgers. If i’m sad a cheeseburger will help. But like cold day need something warm by the fire comfort? Grilled cheese and tomato soup friend.

Do you collect something?

I intentionally collect SIM poppers at work, but I used to collect hats and decks of cards. Now I unintentionally hoard art supplies, tarot cards, candles, left socks, and useless trivia.

Favorite drink?

I like iced matcha lattes, cherry coke, and hot chocolate. I’m very simple. As for alcohol drinks catch me with a Pina Colada, margarita, or Amaretto stone sour.

Favorite song?

Currently reading: mostly fanfic. i read some books over christmas, but now back to my life of not reading books - just watching tv shows no one else is watching, and reading fic (and writing a bit - that takes time i could be reading too). i have ‘winterkeep’ on my kindle, and am keen to read it. but clearly not keen enough. 

Currently craving: KNOWLEDGE ABOUT WHAT WILL HAPPEN IN ANY WAY THE WIND BLOWS. (but only good knowledge about it being happy) 

i had a lot of conversations about that this evening. 😅

craving the end of some fics that i recced already. and the knowledge of whether i got the carry on anon prompt i asked for....

in real life, i crave... going to a major museum or art gallery, and drinking a coffee in the museum cafe. that is the tattoo fic’s fault. they don’t even drink coffee in that place in that fic, but i would, if i’d gone there.

Last show I watched mmm, i think it was “for the people” last night. it’s okay - it’s very shonda-y but i kinda like it nonetheless, so i’m sticking with it for now. i have like 85 hours of tv on my pvr to get through so i’m clearing off the possible non-favs before i get to my favs.

Top 3 TV Shows um. okay i angsted over this for ... way too long. this answer can and will change periodically but: lost, supernatural, and better off ted... but also pushing daisies, parks & rec, grimm, friends, survivor (yes survivor), psych, doctor who, the first 3 seasons of grey’s anatomy (and only those 3 - nothing else exists. i genuinely love those first 3 seasons a freaking lot), and chuck.

Last books I read an interesting comic about the origin of The Hand in the Daredevil universe, and “Six of Crows” by Leigh Bardugo (amaaazing!!!!!! btw)

Hogwarts House sorted into ravenclaw and hufflepuff officially, gryffindor unofficially. probably definitely an actual hufflepuff, but identify as a ravenpuff.

Other blogs? ish? i kinda use my LJ for various bangs (red_b_rackham) and reeallly sporadic rambling/art posting. i got a dreamwidth with the same user for the same reason, since it seemed some bangs were either moving to DW or straddling LJ and DW. i mostly just use tumblr and twitter now.

Make the Most    [Izuku was always told it was impossible for him to get into UA, impossible to meet All Might, impossible to become a hero. Well he doesn’t believe in ‘impossible’ anymore. BnHA, DekuMight, college AU, 41k]     ---My first bnha fic, the one that catapulted me into this precious sub-fandom. I made a bunch of great friends and had SO many nice comments that have kept me going for months! Thanks to this fic and this fandom, I think I’ve really grown as a writer!  2. Rogue     [It’s been a hard 150 years for Hanna, pretending he’s not haunted by the demons of his past. It’s gonna be an even harder week, pretending he’s never met this amnesiac zombie before. HINABN, Hanna/Zombie, semi-historical AU, 141k and probably my magnum opus]      ---My first and longest and most painstaking longfic! I worked on this for over 2 years! It’s my darling. The fandom’s dead so it’s only gotten a little attention, but I’m very proud of it. This fic is THE reason I am the writer I am now. (Technically, most of this fic was written previous years, but I did finish it this year, so I’m counting it.)  3. Thanks to You     [All Might’s grandma is, quote, “not likely to live another year”, and all she wants is to see her grandson married. So, having only been dating a few months, Izuku is shopping for wedding rings. Because what better time than Thanksgiving to lie to your whole family? BnHA, DekuMight, future fic/ fake married trope/ holiday vacation, 27k]     ---A silly and lighthearted fic, but something I’ve never tried before. I followed a schedule and deadline for this fic, specifically with the intention of having it ready to read on the relevant day, and I had a lot of fun with it! Also I unexpectedly made myself cry on the Thanksgiving chapter hahaha 4. Atlas     [”I’ll never wander on my own, for I am yours until you call me home. I close my eyes and I can hear you say, ‘You’re not alone’.” BnHA, DekuMight, mythological AU, 4.5k]     ---Possibly one of my favorite fics to ever just happen. I’d never written anything that was supposed to read (somewhat) like a piece of mythology before, and I enjoyed it! I still get kinda mushy over this one.  5. Touch     [At a very young age, Izuku could feel his mysterious soulmate’s pain. Who was this person person who hurt so badly, and was there nothing he could do? Would a simple touch make all the pain worth it? BnHA, DekuMight, soulmate AU, 6.5k]      ---Again, this one just happened very spontaneously, but I really liked the capacity this idea had for external turmoil and drama, and internal peace. It’s a fun AU and my only problem is that the sequel doesn’t seem to want to end XD  Honestly, I have had more fun writing this year than probably the rest of my life combined. I’ve really hit my stride, it feels like, fallen into my niche. I can only hope that it continues!
