My thoughts as I’m watching 24 seasons of law & order svu:
Season 9
9x01 her waiving her Miranda rights, does not seem legal… it was highly entertaining though. Kathy’s face when Janice talked to her is priceless. Benson and Stabler putting their silent communication to good use is always great. Love the twist at the end!
What order did they shoot these episodes in? Because Benson's hair is very different in 9x03 than it was in the first two episodes…
9x04, those are slow chest compressions… And good on Elliot to admit that his anger isn't helping and that he is not proud of it.
I thought there was something in the pizza box in 9x06, but I was thinking body part, not bomb. That Olivia would be attacked once she got home was pretty clear, but I'm glad that she got her anger under control.
9x07, after Stabler gets his head bashed into the window, he has glass all over his shoulder, which is practically the first place Benson puts her hands. Him panicking after not being able to see is some great acting. Benson looking out for Stabler was really sweet. Also, her catching him when he tripped after court. The confrontation between Casey and Benson: loved that Casey asked her if she wanted the perp tried because of the girls, or because of what he did to Elliot. Benson pretty much confirms it’s about Elliot when she states, "he’s my partner". And later on, where she fully admits that she wanted revenge for him. At least Benson concedes that she was wrong. Sam Waterston is back! The episode also made me realize we don't really know anything about Casey's private life (or I just wasn't paying attention).
9x08, I feel like they could have tried harder to stop the suspect being crushed in a garbage truck.
The kid clinging onto Elliot is really cute in 9x09. Oh, Elliot… that's the worst way the father could have found out that he's not actually the father. Don't get me started on how Benson put that IV in, cause nope. Don't know why, but that birthing scene had me laughing out loud (Until she got Tachy…). The first Benson Stabler hug is everything though!
9x10, Olivia's face whilst Elliot is talking to his "friend" is priceless! Plus, we got our first mention of an iPhone.
9x14 Elliot has a way with words, not in a good way though, yikes. Poor Olivia, the lack of kids is really getting rubbed into her face in this episode.
9x15 must have been the first episode after the last writer strike. The scene in the basement got pretty graphic. Them talking disparagingly about the captain’s size is petty, and I am here for it.
9x16 Tucker's back… yay… Benson saying she would never leak to the media when she actually did that in season 7 and the journalist is still being held in contempt for it (at least I assume he is, not like we got a follow-up). That scene between Benson, Stabler and Moss is so awkward. Also, least romantic kiss ever. That was also a one episode relationship. He wanted to move in, she broke up with him.
9x17, a sheep named Elliot on Morning Joe, well that's new. Munch enjoying himself in the pillow fight is great though. I feel like there's a scene missing. One moment Benson is taking Rook into custody, the next second Stabler is panicking, and then we find out Benson is missing. Stabler's gonna need a new pair of handcuffs.
9x18 did not see that ending coming.
9x19, TV shows always forget, that when you disconnect an IV, there’s gonna be a lot of blood… Not quite sure where the Fin/Stabler conflict is coming from, but here we are. Poor Casey, but probably fair. Lake… never really warmed up to him, but that’s just a sad ending.
Familiar faces: Cynthia Nixon (Sex and the City), Melissa Joan Hart, Jayne Atkinson (Madam Secretary), Aidan Quinn (White Collar), Steven Weber (Studio 60), Shannon Woodward (Malcolm in the Middle), Jarred Harris (Fringe), Ayre Gross (Perlmutter on Castle), Gaius Charles (Friday Night Lights), Adina Porter (The 100), Mark Valley (Fringe), Jeremy Jordan (The Flash), Mae Whitman (A:tla), Braeden Lemasters (House), Meredith Eaton (House), Mark Moses (Scandal), Bailey Chase (Castle), Bill Pullman (While You Were Sleeping), Robin Williams, Joe Scarborough, Matthew Davis (Legally Blonde),
Favorite episodes: 9x01, 9x07, 9x09, 9x12
Favorite lines:
"Try and behave yourself." - Cragen 9x01 (as if that would happen)
"You know, wherever you are, you're almost never more than 6 feet away from a spider." - Janice 9x01 (well ain't that a comforting thought…)
"She’s not supposed to be pregnant. (turning to Kathy) You're too old, I’m in college, people will think it's mine." - Kathleen 9x01
„You took an oath. You don't get to take a time-out because we're at war. Because it's difficult to uphold. The oath was written for times like these.“ - Waren in 9x04 on the Hippocratic oath
"It's my job to look out for him." - Benson about Stabler 9x07

U + Ur Hand - Kim Greylek/Dani Beck, Rafael Barba, Elliot Stabler
A/N: Songfic for @adarafaelbarba ‘s birthday bingo. Not an unhappy ending for Raf, baby boy just chose the wrong girl first.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
(^ Dani and Kim gifs made by my baby @notsosecretlyalesbian)
I can tell I just know that it's going down tonight At the door we don't wait cause we know them At the bar, six shots, just beginning That's when dickhead put his hands on me… I'm not here for your entertainment You don't really want to mess with me tonight Just stop and take a second I was fine before you walked into my life 'Cause you know it's over before it began
Keep your drink, just give me the money It's just you and your hand tonight “Oh my god…” The protest is soft and Kim knows instantly what just happened. Someone’s ass just got grabbed. Again. Like always. Then someone’s hand lands on her ass, squeezing just enough to hurt and she swings for him, pushing him away so roughly she can feel his breath leaving his body. “Fuck off.” She’s not in the mood, the week already sucked and she really only came out to see if she can find the girl she’s spent four weeks texting. “I got you a drink.” Another one, Kim sighs and flicks a look at him. “Just gimme the money, asshole.” She almost snatches his money, tucking it away where he won’t reach it and slipping away through the crowd to the bar.
Midnight I'm drunk I don't give a fuck Wanna dance by myself, guess you're outta luck Don't touch, back up, I'm not the one Buh-bye Listen up, it's just not happening You can say what you want to your boyfriends
In the corner with your boys you bet up five bucks To get at the girl that just walked in but she thinks you suck
We didn't get all dressed up just for you to see
So quit spilling your drinks on me yeah You know who you are High fivin', talkin' shit, but you're going home alone arentcha? 'Cause I'm not here for your entertainment
She can hear him gossiping, the two men who already tried it and she’s sure this won’t be the last time she listens. They’ve taken bets on someone else now and she follows their gaze. It’s her. The girl she wanted to meet. She waits and then he’s there again, suit and tie, spilling drinks and acting bashful. “Baby, stop pretending you don’t want some Daddy Dick and back off me.” The words come quickly and she’s aware she’s drunk, she’d needed the shots to stay sane in this absolute crapshoot of male fuckery. She’s slipped away through the crowd again, leaving both men staring as she slips up to the bar, smirking at the girl.
Keep your drink just give me the money It's just you and your hand tonight
“Are you okay?”
“Yeah… mostly. Why are men…”
“So fucking disgusting? Honey, I don’t know.”
Kim almost laughs, then introduces herself, noting the way Dani’s eyes flicker to her lips then back up.
“So you’re the… linguist.”
“Mhm, want to see how cunning?”
“God yes.”
Dani’s accent is sweet enough that Kim smirks, leaning in to kiss her softly, then murmur a few words to her.
“Let them have some fun with their hands tonight, I’m busy with you.”
Later she’d admit she hadn’t expected the first meeting to be quite so slimy, but she can’t help finding it oddly sweet that Rafael, the man who kept creeping on her and trying to make his move, had found someone new, someone who wanted his advances. All she could do was hope Rita was less stubborn that Rafael, or she’d be fucked next time she had to go to court against her.

Hi Leah! I have a question that you may not have an answer to but maybe your followers may know.
On a few occasions, I have seen some post that say Chris Meloni in the past may have said or tweeted something transphobic. I can't find evidence of it anywhere!
I don't agree with everything he post on Twitter. Mostly the pro cop tweets. Given his job I don't expect anything different. Mariska has posted the same. But Chris for the most part seems like an cool dude. I don't know him personally so I don't have a blinding trust in him but I have yet to see any huge red flags.
Are they confusing Chris for Elliot? Elliot has said some pretty shitty things. But so have all the characters from SVU. I watched the Pose episodes he starred in with Dominique Jackson so I don't get where him being called transphobic is coming from.
Did he say or tweet anything or are antis making this up?
whew ok i debated not answering this at all bc i don't like to give a platform to the random garbage the antis spew, but in this case i felt like i needed to address it.
re: the transphobic thing. i had to look it up, bc a) i'd never heard anyone say this and b) i have a hard time believing that chris "be weird" sex positive ultra liberal meloni was transphobic on main. if you google chris and trans or transphobia, the first thing that pops up is one tweet thread from two years ago. literally just google "chris meloni transphobic" it's the first hit. he retweeted a video of some sort (i can't find the actual video now) and cracked a joke. you can look it up for yourself and decide how you feel about it; i think it was in poor taste, but he's also a (then) 58 year old white dude, and there was no particular hate or malice behind it, and when people called him out for transphobia he tweeted asking why. not whining, he literally said "Ok so I am getting the idea that my honest reaction is transphobic. Why?" the comments in reply to that are pretty divided, as again his words were not blatantly hateful, and people had a variety of responses. it's not a clear black and white. but that's literally the only thing; the next hit for chris and trans issues is an article from the advocate years ago where he talks about raising kids in an "lgbt inclusive" family. trust and believe if there had been more than one incident, there would have been more thinkpieces about it; this one tweet incident spawned several results and at least one youtube video i could find, but there's literally nothing else.
this is really a subpoint of part 1, but elliot wasn't transphobic, either. elliot literally sits beside a trans kid who asked him what he'd do if his son was trans and he says he'd try to understand and love his child anyway.
which leads me really to the final paragraph of your message, sorry i'm out of order here, but. elliot didn't say a lot of shitty things. that's an anti myth. elliot stabler, devout catholic, says things like "when god gives you a uterus then maybe we'll care about your opinion" to anti-abortion priests. elliot is the one in the early seasons who tries to make olivia be more compassionate towards a man with mental health issues. he's respectful of women, he's gentle with children and victims, he doesn't bash gay people or trans people or do any of that socially conservative bullshit. the only victim he ever belligerently didn't believe is in doubt, and the entire point of that case is that neither of the people involved was believable. that's just literally not who elliot is. was elliot violent? sure! liv is too! but the show - bc it is copaganda, so of course it does this - takes pains to show elliot's aggression only being directed towards other aggressors; elliot isn't beating up every random person he meets.
circling back to chris's pro cop tweets; if you search his twitter feed for "police" or "cop" all you find are hits about Uvalde and Jan 6. like. like literally, all the way back to 2013, there's nothing about cops in there beyond "hey jan 6 was bad" and "the police failed those kids". the oldest tweet, from 2013, is someone asking him "has playing a cop changed ur view of crime/punishment & law enforcement" to which he responded "i learned some gnarly stats." he doesn't even say what those stats are!!! like i'm sorry the data simply is not there he's not tweeting pro-cop shit. again unless you count the jan 6 stuff, but i feel like "an armed mob attacking capitol police in an attempt to overthrow the government is bad, actually" is maybe a little more nuanced than "pro cop".
all of that goes to this point: celebrities are human, and fallible, and make mistakes, and should not be held up as some kind of paragons of virtue who say the right thing 100% of the time. but it is important to remember that just bc we hear something doesn't mean it's true; we gotta look for the facts. you won't find a lot of facts from fans on twitter; the antis will keep repeating the same made-up lines that justify their point of view, and hardcore chris fans will refuse to believe he's capable of saying something unkind. you gotta look for the data, and decide for yourself.
but we also gotta remember; we are not all born knowing everything we need to know about rights issues, about communities other than our own, about life and the world and people. we are all gonna hear something for the first time at some point, and we are all gonna be faced with a choice to learn and grow, or continue on the same path as before. we all gotta allow ourselves the grace to say something wrong, hear that we're wrong, and try to be better. if someone doesn't try to be better then we say fuck 'em.

Ten Years (Elliot Stabler x fem reader)
warnings: angst, morning sickness, pregnancy, Elliot Stabler bashing, best friend!Casey Novak
Takes place after Elliot shoots Jenna Fox
You tapped your pen against the notepad, glancing over at Elliot’s desk every few seconds. You had to keep reminding yourself that he was just taking some time off and that he would be back next week, but next week came, it is now Thursday and he won’t answer his phone. When you felt bile rising to your throat, you ran for the bathroom, going into the first open stall and emptied the contents of your stomach, and as you were cleaning yourself off, Amanda walked in. “Y/N, are you okay?” she asked softly. You nodded, the ringing in your ears still making your head hurt.
“Yeah, I’m fine. Any new leads yet?” you questioned, quickly changing the subject. You didn’t need her asking questions, your period is late and you’ve never been late in your life. “The victim’s mother’s flight just landed and she’s meeting us at the hospital.” You tried to refocus, get your mind back in work mode... but you just couldn’t, so many things were going through your head: you have to take a pregnancy test and fast. There’s a possibility you might be going it alone.
Elliot (the probable father) isn’t answering your messages. “Uh, you go ahead, I’ll meet you front in a minute.” Rollins, looking a little unsure, headed out the door, you whipped your phone out of your pocket, the text thread between you and Elliot, and composed a new message: El, please, we need to talk, it’s an emergency. I need you. You hit send and it took thirty seconds before you got a message saying that yours didn’t go through. What the fuck?
Whatever you’re feeling, you shoved it deep down and switched your brain back to work mode; you’ve been in the bathroom for fifteen minutes and Rollins is waiting for you. You were gathering your notepad and a pen when Cragen called you into his office. “Now? Rollins is waiting for me---” “I know, I told her to go with Fin. Now sit. There’s something I have to tell you.” You did as told, immediately on edge, your hands sweating.
“What’s wrong?” You hate that your voice sounds so weak, it reminded of you of your early days at Special Victims Unit, when you didn’t speak in more than a whisper. Elliot changed that. Your Captain stood in front of you, his hands gripping the back of his chair. “Elliot put in his papers. He’s not coming back, Y/N.”
Cragen was looking at you as if you were going to fall apart as you took in this new piece of information, and in all honesty, you might. Maybe in the privacy of your apartment or on Casey’s couch, but definitely not here. Not now. “And I need you to take some time off as well,” he added, and you snapped your head up. “Captain, I promise, I can handle it, this is just---” “It wasn’t a suggestion. That stomach bug is making the rounds, and I can’t have anyone else getting sick.”
You’re glad that he didn’t suspect anything else. “Okay. I’ll make a doctor’s appointment.” You moved in a fog, not paying attention to anything and you almost missed your stop. You bought a pregnancy test kit from the store a few blocks away from your apartment as well as your favorite ice cream. As you waited for the timer to go off, you sat on the toilet lid, trying to stop her hands from shaking and when you reached for phone this time, you deleted Elliot’s number and dialed Casey’s.
“Case, you have to get over here now!” In the years Casey has known you, she’s never heard you sound so frantic. Her first thought was of you being hurt but when she showed up to your apartment at 7:30 she found you curled up on the couch watching The Little Mermaid. “Y/N, what’s wrong?” You didn’t appear to be physically hurt, but you weren’t paying attention to the movie.
“I have to tell you something.” You told her everything, your relationship with Elliot after he and Kathy divorced, about Elliot retiring and then blocking your number, and you started crying when you told Casey that you’re going to have his child. “God, I’m so fucking stupid, what the hell was I thinking?” You thought back to your relationship with Elliot, he was seventeen years older than you, you’re not that much older or younger than his oldest daughter Maureen, and you were twenty-two and fresh out of the academy when you started working with him. Elliot took you under his wing, and the once quiet woman who wouldn’t speak about whisper became a force to be reckoned with with in the 16th precinct.
At the time, in your early days at SVU, you were on your on in the real world for the first time, with your parents moving to France. Elliot was all you had, and no one had ever looked out for you the way he did. To make a long story short, he and Kathy divorced a few years later and the two of you began a secret relationship. You thought everything was going well until he shot Jenna Fox, and even though he was a bit shaken up, you thought after his administrative leave he would be okay. But that was a lie.
Elliot didn’t love you the way you loved him, that much is obvious. “Y/N, you’re not an idiot, and there’s nothing wrong with you. You were in love,” Casey told you softly. The redhead sat next to you on the couch and wrapped her arms around you. “God, Casey, what am I gonna do? A baby! What am I gonna tell my parents? I never told them about me and Elliot. What about Cragen? IAB?” You didn’t even think about telling your bosses, but you’re scared as shit to tell your parents.
Sure, you’re an adult, but it wasn’t like they would approve of him, which is probably why you never told them in the first place, with the seventeen year age difference and rank over you. “Relax, Y/N, you have plenty of time. And I’ll be with you. Every step of the way.” In this moment you were so grateful to Casey, and you know that you can handle this parenting shit. “You don’t need Elliot, Y/N, and he absolutely didn’t deserve you.” “Casey, what the hell would I ever do without you?”
The ADA simply bumped her shoulder against yours and smiled at you. “You can worry about telling Cragen and Tucker later. Right now, we’re gonna order pizza and Chinese and watch Disney movies and talk shit about Stabler.” That made you smile; Casey knew that you would have eight years worth of insults and burns stored up for Elliot that is just begging to be let out. “That sounds like a plan. You order the food and I’ll get you some pajamas. You’re gonna be here all night.” While Casey ordered the food, you changed into your pajamas and got some clothes out for her as well.
The night was spent eating good food, watching Casey get tipsy with the wine and watching Disney movies as you talked shit about Elliot. “Out of all of his worst qualities, I hope your kid doesn’t come out with his Easter Island head shaped head.” You accidentally spat out your cherry coke. “Casey! How long have you been holding that one in?” You simply couldn’t stop laughing, and the worst part, as you compared both images in your head, it only made you laugh so hard, tears started forming.
“Ever since I met him. It was my first thought.” The two of you ended up watching three Disney movies: The Aristocats, Lady and the Tramp, and Cinderella. It was the middle of Cinderella where she and Prince Charming are dancing in the ballroom. It’s sort of silly, but you wished for a love like a Disney Princess. Yes, it’s a little unrealistic, but you couldn’t help it. You wanted someone to love you like your dad loves your mom, the way Thomas O’Malley loved Duchess.
You felt stupid for thinking that Elliot Stabler could ever be your Prince Charming. “One day, Y/N, that’s gonna be you, dancing with your prince.,” Casey started slurring as she finished up the last of the wine, the bottle of wine you bought when you were with Elliot. “Casey, if I ever see Elliot fucking Stabler again, it’ll be too soon.” You promised yourself that if you ever saw Elliot again, you would absolutely slap him.

Milquetoast watches Closure
Closure S1xE10 Special Victims Unit: Episode Review
Tumblr media
What this episode is about:
Benson and Stabler encounter problems when the prime suspect in a sexual assault cannot be identified by the shaken victim.
_______________________________________________________________
So we have a time stamp! That's interesting. So we are going with the victim from when they reported the rape.
Olivia and Cassidy. I remember this, it was just a fling for her and more for him. Definitely, just as I remembered.
They are showing them doing a ra9e kit!
Tumblr media
Elliot chewing out this beat cop for leaving the victim! This is the angry Stabler that we want. Not the one that bashes peoples heads in.
He was gentle after the fact...this is a strange ra9ist. Ra9e is about power, so why was he gentle. I don't get it.
I'm really digging this format. Time stamps throughout the night.
1997-1998 on the file cabinet behind Elliot. Hahaha that's so old.
Olivia: "what did he smell like?" Is that a standard question?
Tumblr media
6:13 am and they are finally done interviewing her! Damn that took like 4 hours.
This woman's apartment looks like a preschool. They don't usually like you to paint on the walls.
Tumblr media
Oh so that's why Cassidy is there. Elliot didn't know how long she'd be with the Victim.
So he thinks she staged the ra9e. Plus like would the bar be still wet, it's been all night. And as we clearly see from the victims (Harpers) perspective. She took awhile to call 911 to report the rape.
So even though the perp may not have had a gun and instead used her curling iron. Does that make it any less of a rape? No. I don't think that this changes any of the circumstances. She may have been able to fight him off but she didn't know that it may not have been a gun.
Oooh that's where Cassidy is going with it. He think's she making it all up.
Olivia: "Yeah and this morning she said she felt it never happened. Is that what you wana hear?" Cassidy: "No, maybe that's the truth." I love this whole, double conversation they are having. There is tension here between them and Elliot can definitely feel it. Definitely sounds like Olivia regrets hitting that.
Elliot's face when he's figured out they slept together.
Tumblr media
It's halloween!!! Nice decorations. Do they still decorate in the show for the holidays?
Cassidy: "The pot makes me nervous." Olivia: "Well, we're not going to bust her on that." I've always though that Cassidy would have enjoyed pot. like ALOT.
Tumblr media
Nothing like this has happened here before, except they found a body in the dumpster. Says the building manager. hahaha OK!
This creep saw the rape and didn't report it.  EW he's so sweaty too.
Their not going to get him on a peeping tom charge?
"You left this behind last night." um...weren't they in her apartment? Or did they sleep together again at his place.
Tumblr media
There wearing the same clothes from when they were tossing Harpers apartment. So I'm guessing it's still the same day. I'm guessing he just wants to talk to her. Oh he wants to see her again. Olivia is totally like this was just sex. That's it. Cassidy is already smitten.
"How long you been sleeping with Cassidy?" Elliot...subtle! Though I do love how he just calls her out on it. Olivia being Olivia just denies it but Elliot can see right through her. I love that they have been partners for a year and a half. He's already figured out about her and Cassidy, plus he can figure out that she's lying.
Tumblr media
"I'm your partner, for better or worse." umm...EXCUSE YOU! Elliot Stabler. That sounds like marriage vows. I'm liking this role revisal. Typically it's the woman that's the one smitten but in this case it's Cassidy that's smitten and for Olivia it was just sex. Elliot is all like be nice to him and he'll get over it eventually. Usually Elliot is jelly when it comes to another man in Olivia's life. So this is different.
"It happens." hahaha what? Are you speaking from experience here, Elliot? As in you are in love with your partner?
OMG is that Michael Anthony Hall!?
I beg to differ. He does not have sandy hair.
They arrest you for jumping a turn style? They don't just give you a ticket?
Oh look there's Cragen eating twizzlers. I love how Olivia just throws the paper! hahaha.

Final Thoughts:
Tumblr media
Another better episode from the first season. The format of this one was different. We go through with the victim, starting from when she reports the rape to what it's like being with her through the rape kit and the formal interviewing processes. Where Benson and Stabler ask her question after question gathering as much information as they can.

So, I rewatched last night's episode because I was feeling very negative about everything that happened and I wanted to make sure I wasn't being overly critical. Let me preface this review by saying that Chris and Mariska are amazing actors, they amount of emotion that was displayed last night was raw. This is not me bashing them, this is me mainly criticizing the writer's and their characters.
The episode opens with Kathy entering an EMT. I had kinda figured that when they said Elliot would have some huge trauma they would kill off Kathy. I guess we can add Kathy Stabler to the ranks of powerful women who were killed off for a man's origin story. This trope is not only overdone but grossly misogynistic. It was really lazy writing on the writer's part and I'm disappointed even though I knew this would happen.
After Kathy's at the hospital, Stabler's first interaction with Liv is to ask her "tell me she's going to be okay Liv". He hasn't even apologized for leaving her for almost a decade, and he's already asking her for emotional bandwidth. This dictates how selfish he is, like I know his wife is in critical condition, but you don't ask the woman you abandoned for 11 years to be your shoulder to cry for without even an apology.
Moving on to the interrogation scene. I know I wanted Olivia to be mad and spiteful towards Elliot, but her caving and allowing him to be in the interrogation room even though she knew better was more realistic. It shows that even though he hurt her, she will still do anything for him, even risk her job. It also shows that she's blind when it comes to him. How many wives have she heard say that their husbands beat them because they care? Elliot beat suspects because he lack interrogation skills and the ability to control his temper.
I will appreciate Sonny putting Elliot in his place, Kat having something to say about Elliot's history, and Amanda for being there for Liv. I will say I love how Liv and Amanda's relationship has flourished. It is honestly one of my favorite friendships on the show and it only rivals her friendship with Cabot. Moving on to how I feel about Elliot. I’ve been his harshest critic and I wish I could say now that i’ve watched it, i’ve changed my mind but that isn’t the case. He is still selfish, he is still a bad cop (i’m aware that’s an oxymoron, but go with it), and his excuse of why he didn’t contact Liv is bullshit. He was her bestfriend, her confidante, and he just left her. And his excuse is that he “thought hearing her voice would make it hard to leave.”? He’s a grown man, and if he claims to love Liv like he says he does, he wouldn’t have done that.

I really can’t believe svu made us watch Elliot stabler shoot a teenage girl in self defense and then never showed him again. The patron saint of pedophile bashing deserves better

Elliot is a serial emotional cheater. Jo Malone sure implied that at least with her, it wasn’t just emotional. He ain’t shit.
The way a literal cockroach would be a better partner (romantic partner, not cop partner) for Olivia than Elliot....
