I’m not too well-versed in flower meanings, but Elliot’s favourite flowers are daisies and sunflowers! Looking it up, sunflowers seem to represent happiness, which feels pretty fitting for such a happy lil guy.

Elliot (blonde):

Elliot didn't usually do anything to deserve punishment, but whenever he did upset his owner or refuse an order, his old owner would avoid and ignore him. It was more of a psychological punishment: love bombing and then sudden withdrawal.

Rashmi (brunette):

Rashmi was never really punished. To his old owner it was more like an entertainment to hurt him. He was kept in a small bathroom where he'd get constantly burnt by candles. His owner's favorite: leave a candle to melt on his face or body. Most of his scars are actually from very simple burns, had he been taken to he hospital on time, he wouldn't have them. His blindness is also a result of this.

If anyone asked him, he'd say he doesn't take pleasure in punishing the sinister energy of evil youkai.

But let's be honest. He usually uses whumpee's blood to purify and use in rituals, usually in secret/ private. However, he is a huge fan of public humiliation. His favorite thing is to show whumpee as a helpless pathetic monster that he tamed on his own, especially if he is able to pull him around, spit on him and just over all shit talk.

Mai's old owner didn't interact with him enough times to feel like he had to punish him. Mai was just abandoned without ever experiencing punishment.

Mai's trainer, however. Mai is punished almost everyday. He is a very ill behaved pet, but his trainer isn't happy about punishing him, in fact he feels quite defeated whenever he has to do it. As a cat whisperer, the trainer doesn't like to admit he is failing to comprehend and be comprehended...

But he does think Mai makes a funny face when he is slapped. Although he doesn't like slapping him.
