I’m done Aiji’s good end just gotta do all his bad ends now before I’m done this game herp derp  and my final thoughts are: I am way more in love with Adonis than I am with any of the main characters ooPS. I don’t think there’s any game or story with more intriguing and complex villains than the Adonis members. I love every single one of them. The criminal chapter is the best thing out of the entirety of Collar X Malice.

As for Saeki.... haha. I was confident I was gonna love him but I honestly have mixed feelings about him. He’s pretty much just Goro Akechi in an otome game. He’s a far better villain than Nightshade’s Kando or Mystic Messenger’s Rika but even then his entire character just felt... lacking? Like christ most of the Adonis members had more depth than he did. I guess it’s cause there wasn’t much closure between him and Ichika which I really wanted to see. I wanted to see him and Ichika actually have a heart to heart about their friendship. Him telling her what he thought of her, what he went through, everything with his own mouth. There’s so many teasers that Saeki truly valued Ichika as a friend but in the end I’m just not convinced that their friendship was even real. I can’t really see that Saeki cared about her more than her being a cool test subject. Like ffs you never even learn of his story until you do the criminal chapter. Ichika goes on about wanting to ~understand him~ but in the end she never does understand him. She knows nothing about him and she never learns anything about him. After her initial breakdown, the writers act as if the two were never friends and idk his villainy was just super fucking underwhelming.

Basically what I want is a Saeki route HAHA. The game really didn’t do him justice and I just don’t feel connected to him at all like I thought I would.

tfw the only way you can romance this guy is thru a bad end where he kidnaps you, kills all your friends, and brainwashes you into believing his crazy ideas! :   ) I know I said I wanted a route for him but this isn’t what I meant. I questioned whether he really did care about Ichika but maybe overthrowing the government with the bae is his way of showing his affection lmfaoo.

I’m finally done all of Collar X Malice’s bad ends and I’ve lost count at how many times I got murdered by Hana because I hung out at the club at the wrong time, or how many times I got murdered by some other mofo because I went into the wrong ally at the wrong time.

Anyway (spoilers), this game was great, despite all the loose ends, plot points that never got clarified, and some actual plot holes. :  ) When I say plot hole I mean Shiraishi who is, quite literally, a walking plot hole. Did it ever say where Shiraishi grew up?? Mikuni’s mom’s cult? The president’s underground basement where all the mistresses and bastard children get locked up?? Who knows!  this guy is totally Saeki’s half brother.  And it was said that Shiraishi infiltrated the police ten years ago, but it was only ten years ago that Saeki and Mikuni started organizing the X-day plan. You’re trying to tell me a 13 and 16 year old ordered Shiraishi to infiltrate the police. Uh okay. Also how the hell did Shiraishi end up getting brainwashed into following Saeki’s every command. Who knows.

I can’t really forgive Saeki I will never forgive this fucker for what he did in Shiraishi’s bad end. but I really do wish there was a route for him to actually flesh out his character a bit more. I mean the game already lets you romance the minion of a cult, why not go all the way and romance the leaDER of the cult! Go big or go home. Just imagine the glorious angst and despair that would ensue once you lock your crazy boyfriend up being bars knowing you’ll never be happy together because the mofo is off his rocker and getting the death penalty.

Collar x Malice is a great game but holy fuck did nobody proof read this shit at all. Like the misplaced names and occasional typos were whatever at first but now it’s getting to straight up mistranslations, misplaced sentences, wrong dates, etc, and it’s confusing the hell out of me. Literally one sweep of proof reading could have solved all this. Even a high schooler’s english essay rough draft wouldn’t have this many errors. You’d think that they'd actually bother to proof read the script if I’m forking my money over but eugh

I shouldn’t have done Kei’s bad ends after his good end. They’ve just left a really bad taste in my mouth. This is a testament to how attached I grew to Kei to the point that him concluding that Ichika’s life isn’t worth shit and thus making him willing to throw her under the bus for his mission stabbed me harder than any other bad end ever. I know it’s just a bad end but I am so damn hurt. Sigh I should replay his final bad end where they both die together just to make myself suffer more before moving onto Takeru’s route.

I JUST FINISHED KEI’S ROUTE AND AAAAHH. Kei is best boy. He truly is best boy I love him so much I love everything about his personality and he’s just a big fluffy sheep.

Also Rika and Sanjou were amazing villains. The duo are a lot more likable than Hana and Ogata lol. Despite that, all the villains so far were really fascinating and I love how much thought the game puts into them because I’m tired of cookie cutter villains. Sanjou’s gun match with Kei was freaking badass. Rika trading love stories with Ichika made my heart warm. Both Sanjou and Rika are really tragic villains imo. Rika loses her memories and chooses to be jailed for a crime she doesn’t remember committing simply because she doesn’t want to be stalked anymore. Sanjou kills himself because he feels like there’s no hope for him left. Like ouch, seriously? Considering how they were both driven to commit crimes because of the police, it really runs the whole “WHAT IS JUSTICE??” theme right in. Ugh my heart.

Rika from Amnesia in Ikki’s route: *runs a cult like fanclub that’s responsible for intense harassment and bullying, makes death threats to the heroine for getting too close to Ikki, gets away with just being scolded by Ikki*

Rika from Mystic Messenger: *runs an actual cult because lol WHY THE FUCK NOT. Physically assaults her fiance because he pissed her off. Brainwashed a child into becoming her personal slave. Gets away with NO punishment and just gets shipped to Alaska without any legal repercussions*

Rika from Collar X Malice: *becomes mentally unstable after years of being viciously and violently stalked. Resorted to orchestrating the deaths of her stalkers with the help of a terrorist group because the police had absolutely and utterly failed her by not stopping the stalking because no one took her seriously. Gets arrested and goes to jail*

Rika from cxm has officially broken the “all Rikas are evil bitches” trend that otome games seem to have going for them. Maybe it’s cuz she doesn’t have blond hair lmao. I mean Rika is still technically “evil” since she’s a villain and basically burned a man to death but holy crap do I just wanna wrap her in a blanket, get her some therapy and exchange love stories with her. She deserved so much better.

Ok I get why you feel this way because this might be the last time you’ll ever see him before you go off and betray him and all your friends to join a terrorist group though we know that’s not gonna happen because all games have happy endings but do you really want to be getting steamy when you have someone from a terrorist group eavesdropping on everything that’s happening through your collar. Yikes that’d be awkward
