IT HADN'T BEEN HER INTENTION TO PUSH THE OTHER AWAY initially, though it certainly wouldn't be the first time she did so as an automatic result to feeling reprimanded or triggered in some way regardless of how minor it might have been at the time. The reasoning in this case was that Maggie had gotten too close, making Natalie feel unworthy. No fault to the other, but it was enough.
Fingers ran through stringy tresses of hair almost a bit too aggressively as she took in a deep inhalation of breath and sniffed out slightly. The expression upon her face was almost hinting at being apologetic, knowing without needing to admit that she had done wrong. Perhaps even, overreacted. But the fact that Maggie had come back spoke volumes to which she still didn't quite understand.
