I mean that doesn't automatically make him a Jedi, no? To be that, you've got to be part of the order, learn their ways and learn how to control the Force and all that.
Hmm, I wonder who taught him how to use it, if anybody did. Maybe he just figured it out?

Correspondence between the Hypatia and Heimdall has continued to be ineffective, and Heimdall is unaware of the events that occurred on Kerenza. BeiTech needs to tie up any loose ends to avoid having the facts of their attack made known. The Executive Director of BeiTech, Ezra’s mom Leanne, sends a team to the Heimdall in order to open a wormhole that can be used to exterminate the survivors on the Hypatia and Kerenza. The wormhole mechanics have been shut down for repair, and the Heimdall is left with a skeleton crew due to the upcoming holiday. Those on board include Commander Donnelly, his daughter Hanna, Nik Malikov and members of the House of Knives cartel, Chief Issac Grant, and various other crewmembers.
Nik’s crimes are shown through the tattoos on his skin, but he has a secret that he’d prefer to keep from Hanna. When BeiTech’s secret operative aboard the Heimdall threatens to tell Hanna about Nik’s past, Nik agrees to help smuggle a shipment on board the jump station. Things are not what they appear. What was supposed to be a simple contraband job turns into a hostile invasion. The BeiTech operatives take the Heimdall by force, focused solely on the mission to open the wormhole. Trapped in different parts of the station, Nik, Hanna, and Nik’s cousin Ella team up to buy the other survivors as much time as possible. They will not go down without a fight.
Typical to the series, there is betrayal, heartbreak, and plenty of suspense. There’s also a quick lesson in the multiverse theory. If you still don’t understand, I recommend watching Donnie Darko. Instead of a plan engine the object is a person. Gemina by Amie Kaufman and jay Kristoff does not disappoint. By the end of the book the characters from Illuminae have aligned themselves with our heroes from Gemina to fight back against BeiTech. The final confrontation awaits in the final book of the trilogy, Obsidio. Hopefully there will also be more appearances from my favorite Analyst ID 7213-0089-DN, whose comic relief is one of the best aspects of the series.
I almost enjoyed Hanna and Nik’s dynamic more than I did Kady and Ezra’s. The whole will they, won’t they and witty banter kept their plot from being to similar to Kady and Ezra’s. Nik’s cousin Ella was also a wonderful addition to the team. She didn’t feel forced, and proved to be badass in her own way. In both Illuminae and Gemina, Kristoff and Kaufman write compelling, strong female leads that don’t need to seem less-than to their male counterparts. They are not the sidekicks, they are their own heroes. I cannot wait to see the interactions between Ella, Hanna, and Kady in Obsidio. The plot, the twists, the characters, the format, everything about this series is amazing. I highly recommend both Illuminae and Gemina. You will not be disappointed.

It was a good week to test your view of New York — the 1990s Bohemia  presented in Rent Live on Fox (which was largely Rent Recorded), or the grittier view expressed by the city’s teenagers in “Generation NYZ,” part of Ping Chong’s Undesirable Elements series at LaMaMa?  How about by the African-American playwrights of the Fire this Time Festival? The truth is, in some ways, all of these share the sardonic and romantic view of the city by Rodgers and Hart in the 1920s, as presented by Santino Fontana as part of the Lyrics and Lyricists series at the 92nd Street Y? (It’s very fancy on old Delancey Street, you know/The subway charms us so.)

Rent Live
I had worried that, in Rent Live,  Fox television would ruin Jonathan Larson’s musical about bohemian life in the East Village of the 1980s by bowdlerizing it. I felt it worth watching anyway because its cast of celebrated young screen stars and recording artists would make the most of the catchy tunes.
As it turns out, it wasn’t the redacted content but rather a bad break and a series of poor choices that made “Rent” disappointing. And though the cast was clearly full of talent, only a few standouts brought it home in any memorable way. Brandon Victor Dixon, the one performer with the most live theater experience, floored us as Tom Collins,
We’ll Have Manhattan: Rodgers and Hart in New York
When at the age of 17 composer Richard Rodgers met 24-year-old lyricist Lorenz Hart in 1919, he instantly acquired “a career, a partner, a best friend and a source of permanent irritation.”
So Rodgers wrote, in one of the many tidbits Santino Fontana tells us in “We’ll Have Manhattan: Rodgers and Hart in New York,” Fontana’s celebration, as part of the 92ndStreet Y’s Lyrics & Lyricists series, of the hundredth anniversary of Rodgers and Hart’s partnership
    God Said This
Leah Nanako Winkler was sitting on the couch in her mother’s hospital room in Kentucky while her mother was undergoing chemotherapy for a form of cancer called carcinosarcoma, when the playwright started writing what became God Said This. “It just came out.”
The play, now on stage at the Cherry Lane Theater through February 15, revolves around Masako, a Japanese-born mother who is undergoing chemotherapy for carcinosarcoma, and explores the effect of her illness on her family.
The Fire This Time Festival
Over the past decade, the annual festival, created to showcase early-career playwrights of African and African-American descent, has presented some of the first New York plays of such now-celebrated writers as Katori Hall (known for such later works as The Mountaintop and Our Lady of Kibeho), Dominique Morisseau (Pipeline, Skeleton Crew  and the book for the forthcoming Broadway musical “Ain’t Too Proud”), and Jocelyn Bioh (School Girls or the African Mean Girls Play) .
This year’s offerings are not particularly political, although they do touch (often obliquely) on issues as varied as gentrification, immigration, protest, feminism, homophobia, and affirmative action.

Elizabeth Keathley moved to the United State from the Philippines, married an American, and three years later registered to vote, even though she was not yet a citizen. As a result, the government ordered her deported.
“The Courtroom”is a re-enactment by Waterwell theater company of her deportation proceedings,  using the transcript as edited by Arian Moayed, directed by Waterwell’s artistic director Lee Sunday Evans, with Ruthie Ann Miles as Immigration Judge Craig Zerbe, and Kathleen Chalfant as Chief Judge Frank H. Easterbrook for the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit. The play is being presented for free through February 1 in a series of court-like settings

Near the end of Colin Quinn’s stand-up comedy, which promises to “lay bare the absurdities…on both sides of the political divide,” the Saturday Night Live alumnus manages to insult every single state of the union…It’s a baffling routine, almost tedious and even tacky…emblematic of Quinn’s enterprise….hit or miss and a missed opportunity.

ENGLISH-------------------------------- Outpost 54 has been built on the land surrounding SCP-1983 and disguised as a chemical plant. The "plant" building serves as barracks for MTF Chi-13 ("Choir Boys"). All entry points into Outpost 54 are to be guarded at all times. Personnel will review Document 1983-12, which details the cover story to be given to any civilians expressing curiosity.
All MTF personnel must profess strong religious beliefs, per Chi-13 protocols. All ammunition stocked must have a silver or silver-tipped projectile. A 24-hour watch is to be maintained on the front door of SCP-1983-1. Guards are to engage any instances of SCP-1983-2 on sight. No personnel is to approach within five meters of SCP-1983-1 outside of scheduled testing protocol.
UPDATE: Following the Event 1983-23, a stand-down of Outpost 54 has been authorized. A skeleton crew will remain to monitor SCP-1983 for any further activity. Arms intended for use against instances of SCP-1983-2 are to be maintained at Outpost 54 armory.
Description: SCP-1983-1 is a one-story farmhouse in ███████ County, Wyoming. It was abandoned in 1968 after a series of ritual murders, allegedly performed by a "Satanic" cult. Please see capture logs for SCP-████ for further details.
The front door of SCP-1983-1, when opened, appears to contain a spatial anomaly. Neither matter nor light has been observed to exit the doorway, save for instances of SCP-1983-2 (though the anomaly is exothermic).
SCP-1983-1 is accessible through other entrances, including windows, the back door, and entrances cut into the back of SCP-1983-1. However, the front room does not appear to exist inside of SCP-1983-1. Doors that should lead to the front room instead lead to other doors inside the building. Measurements of the inside and outside of SCP-1983-1 are inconsistent. Holes cut through the interior walls of SCP-1983-1 that should lead to the front room lead instead to the outside walls around the front of SCP-1983-1, but stop three meters on either side of the doorway. Attempts to drill into the front room of SCP-1983-1 from the outside have led to the exposure of smaller portions of the anomaly, though instances of SCP-1983-2 have not been observed to exit them. Further attempts to breach the wall have been forbidden by O5-03, due to the possibility of allowing increased potential for instances of SCP-1983-2 to appear.
SCP-1983-2 are bipedal creatures approximately 1.8 meters tall. They are vaguely humanoid, and entirely black in color. They are highly aggressive and will engage any human on sight. When an instance of SCP-1983-2 comes into contact with a human, they extend an upper limb into the human's chest cavity, without any apparent damage to skin or tissues. Through unknown means, they then extract the heart, killing the human. Once it has acquired a human heart, the instance of SCP-1983-2 will return to SCP-1983-1.
Silver munitions fired while offering prayer is the only known method of killing SCP-1983-2. The precise form of the prayer or religion of the supplicant does not appear to matter, so long as the prayer is sincere. Once killed, the bodies of SCP-1983-2 appear to "evaporate," leaving a small layer of sulfur.
SCP-1983 was discovered after a series of mysterious deaths in the vicinity of ███████ County. Foundation investigators encountered instances of SCP-1983-2 and were able to trace them back to SCP-1983-1.

Okay, hold up. Wait a minute.
So Jod's holding her. The knife isn't actually against her neck, like it's a bit of a distance away. And maybe one shouldn't trust the words of a pirate, but he says, "I'm sorry for this, I really am. But you have to say it."
What if he's doing that to force her to yield because that's what she needs to, to avoid the alternative of killing her? Maybe he sees that taking control of the ship is the easiest way for him to get them all through this, and according the code, the only way for that to happen is to make her, force her to say she yields?
I'm not excusing his behaviour, I swear. It's not good, and I don't approve of it, but this is me trying to figure out why he could possibly do it.
I think if he really didn't care about hurting them or not, he would have immediately put her into greater danger than she's in, maybe.

Okay, so I started watching it, The Skeleton Crew.
I have to say, as soon as the big bad ship appeared and the bad people boarded it, I was thinking, "If Jude Law's character is among these guys, he can't be good. They all look up to no good."
Then Captain Silvo appears and I cringed a bit bec darn it, there's me liking another apparently (bc I literally know nothing about his character right now) bad guy. I mean, he looks pretty mean with all the stuff he was doing when they landed.
I want to know more about him!

Skeleton Crew spoilers!
Okay, so I was right about Jod getting captured by the pirates and the pirates being under attack by the x-wings.
Hmm still up in the air about Jod's true intentions and whether he'll pull through for the kids in the end.
Though, one of my initial theories has been a little bit debunked. I thought he might make a deal with the pirates involving the kids, getting them to let him go and lead them to the treasure and that would involve taking the kids as bargaining chips. He hasn't done that....yet.
Oh my, I can't wait for the next episode. But so help me god, please stop with such short episodes. I need MORE. I mean, thank you, writers and bless because Jude Law singing. Jude. Law. singing.
But yes, well, those are my very brief thoughts.
