It follows a young girl named Ella who goes to a magic school full of students from around the world. It is incredibly diverse, charming, and has wonderful messages about friendship for kids!

It is the magic school story this generation needs, one of the best middle grades I have read in a long time, and just plain old good.

Finally feeling better but it still took me a week to write the next chapter. Part 3

Jackson- 

Is this a never ending event? Yes. It’s a whirlwind of violin, cello, and piano in the background mixed with hushed whispers, fake laughter and polite exchanges. Louisa has decided to cling onto me as though her life depends on it. This isn’t shocking though, it happens every time. She’s a great girl, Princeton student with a Tennis scholarship, fair skin, polite, kind, pretty. Anyone would be thrilled to have her on their arm the way she’s on mine. I don’t know why it feels strange to have her hold my hand. I guess it’s just the same as anyone else. It’s just empty. The same thing happened with Jane, Stephanie, Marcy, Ella, Beth, Courtney, and Dellia. Blondes, gingers, dark hair, dyed hair, taller, shorter, with the same spotless teeth and fake lashes. They’re all great but I just haven’t found anyone special I guess. 

The event has come to a close and our staff has already begun to clean up every inch. My mother took a bottle of wine and my Father’s wallet, and said, “My driver’s here.” as she blew a kiss and walked out the door. Back to my room where I took off my shoes, and replaced my button up and slacks with grey sweatpants and a loose fitting maroon T-shirt. I began to slide around my room in search of a hair tie trying to be silent with each step. A small click and My heart stopped, my head spun, I stood up straight and-”Oh,” I let out a breath when the short woman with black hair in a thick bun on her head caught my eye with her warm smile, “Diana you scared me.” 

She laughed a bit, “I’m sorry, Figlio. I wanted to check on you.” Her Italian accent is heavy in each syllable as she continues, “I’ve prepared the chambers for the boy who will be coming here tomorrow.” When I rolled my eyes she gave me a warning look and said, “you will be nice. For me? I think it’s a wonderful thing. It’ll take some weight off my shoulders from you giving me grey hairs.” She smirked. “I know, I just- ugh-” I flopped onto my bed. Diana gave me a pat on the shoulder to tell me to get up, so I sat when she pulled out an elastic and started to tie my hair back. “Listen boy, when you learn how to clean up your ‘wealthy play-boy party act’ then you won’t need personal staff to clean up your things and keep track of you.” with a final tug on my hair she stood, took my laundry and began to walk out the door. Before she walked out she turned to me and said, “Your Father answered a call on his small phone so he’ll be gone with women tonight.” She tossed me a pair of Pirouette half shoes, and looked at me, “The downstairs stereo waits for you.” and with that she closed my door.

Clayton-

I planned on taking the subway but there was a short italian woman who held a poster with “Clayton Phillips” scrawled across it.

I walked up to her and introduced myself. “Hi, I’m Clayton.”

“I’m Diana, wonderful to finally meet you. Is that all you have?” She looks at my bag and my bike and I nod. “Alright then, the driver is waiting.” The driver? so they weren’t kidding when they said Nobility.

We walk out the double sliding doors and there’s a long line of cars. I follow Diana as she walks up the sidewalk to a sleek black SUV. “Bike in the back.” She tells me and I do so.

The drive is quiet, and doesn’t take very long.

We arrive at the house, well, I’m not sure if that’s what it is. Noble Estate sounds a lot more like what it is. We drive through a gate that opens when we get close. The house is huge and there’s a tree in the middle of the circular driveway. The building is a light colored stone that looks like something from a movie and the roof is a nice contrasting dark gray. The surrounding area is covered in bright greenery and stone. The car pulls to a stop and I open the door. It’s breezy outside and I can smell the saltiness from the water. It is a sweeter smell than back home, more green and refreshing.

“You’ll be staying in the main building, down the hall from Jackson, who is your age. Seeing as you don’t have any suitable attire,” Diana gestures, as if it’s obvious, which I guess it is, “I’ll call up our tailor and he’ll get your measurements. Until then, I’m sure we can find something for you to wear.” She opens the double set of dark oak doors to reveal the grand entry. A chandelier lights the room. White walls and those fancy looking pillars line the archways. There’s a centerpiece on a table made out of something fancy and I’m not even sure what it is. She walks up the stairs to our left and I follow. The stairs are white and shiny as if they’ve never been stepped on. I’m very conscious of my worn out shoes that are rubbing onto them. The walls of the hallway are covered in expensive looking paintings. Everything in this house is expensive looking.

There’s a lot of doors in the hallway. Once we’ve walked to about the middle of the hallway, she open a door and I walk inside. It’s furnished nicely. A set of blue-ish doors with a lot of windows look out towards the water. There is a nicely made bed, larger than my twin at home, with two fluffy pillows. There is an open door to the left that leads to a bathroom and two dressers on the right side on either side of the window. There is a soft looking chair in the corner as well. Its a lot more than I was expecting.

“I’ll leave you here to wash up. The tailor will be ready for you at 2:30 to have you fitted before dinner tonight.” Diana says before leaving the room and closing the door.
