Hangman and Mox's match ended with hangman hanging Mox with a chain, which is something Kenny also did to Mox during their lights out match. The match that ended when Kenny tried and failed to do the phoenix splash. my point is that both Kenny and Hangman are haunted by their former tag partners

The Academy is putting together an event called Shinobi Career Day, where several shinobi of various titles will speak for today’s class, giving the students a brief demonstration of the job variety one could have after graduation. Raidou agreed to take Genma’s place as a guest speaker in exchange for extra time off duty, but as the day arrived, he was beginning to feel reluctant about his task.

As an elite bodyguard to the Hokage, Raidou had little qualms performing his job or relaying information to colleagues on the fly, but having to speak to a classroom of children was another thing entirely. No wonder Genma dumbed this task on him! They say that public speaking is a person’s number one fear. 

It’s been a long time since his Academy days. What would the students find most interesting about his job title? 

He arrives thirty minutes early before the event begins, wanting to speak with the classroom instructor beforehand. Much to his surprise, Raidou realizes that the teacher is none other than a former Academy classmate, Umino Iruka. 

❝Hey, Umino-san, it’s been awhile! ❞ Raidou says, a crooked smile widening his lips. ❝ It’s good to see you again. I didn’t know you were an instructor here. ❞Truthfully, it was a touch embarrassing to have not stayed in touch, but so much has happened since they were boys in school. Raidou was one of the older kids in the class the younger ones looked up to as their senpai.

❝ How’ve you been? I’m here to speak during your class today. Is there anything I should know about before it’s my turn? Things I shouldn’t say and whatnot?  ❞

Mikey clicked his tongue, shaking his head. What a fashion nightmare! Callisto is wearing what is clearly a fashionable dress, and someone has the audacity to spill a drink on it. This won't do.

As the fashion expert for this event, an elite fashion designer if you will, not only does Mikey know all the latest trends and styles, the best way to dress each person up, but from his humble fashion beginnings, he knows how to clean stains from clothes.

"Of course I can help you out!" Mikey lowers his orange reflector sunglasses, now with little Gucci symbols hastily drawn on the sides, looking at his turtle friends. "Whoever did that to your outfit is a criminal. I'll tell you that. Here you are, slaying it, working it, and they just do that?! No, this won't do." He walks closers, pretending to contemplate the size and degree of the stain. "Easy fix for you, I say!" He straightens up, nodding towards the offending spot. "Run you dress under some cold water. Then add a little dish soap - I think there's some in the mess hall... and scrub some more. After, soak it in vinegar and water for half an hour. Then voilà! No more stain!"

He pushes his sunglasses back up, smiling wide. "I'd also totally recommend a necklace with that dress. Small, not too flashy. Silver. Maybe a little bit of blue? You'll figure it out. I believe in you. Make 'em drop dead with your looks." With that he turns away dramatically, walking off.

I just want to say that Caleb being a private instructor for students who didn’t get into the elite magic school (and not just providing extra tutoring for his students at Soltryce) was something I hadn’t considered and is so, so heartwarming and affirming. 

Having been a “failure,” he accepts the “rejects” and “failures” - he sees and nurtures their potential. This flies in the face of Soltryce’s harsh “rigorous” standards which was used by Trent as priming / grooming for his even “harsher” “lessons.” It denies the commonly accepted idea that anyone who doesn’t make the cut is just not good enough. 

I think a lot of people have had this experience IRL, including myself, where a curricular program basically expected you to “do whatever it takes” even if it means running yourself ragged to meet extremely high expectations “for your own good.” 

Caleb’s gonna raise up some competent wizards who will think for themselves and not have their ethics dictated by loyalty-first to the Empire or the Cerberus Assembly. He is fully aware of how the Empire’s propaganda was used by Ikithon to groom students and commit atrocities (Oh man, I have...thoughts about how Astrid initially reacts to Bren breaking in the comic).

Ok it's time for my insane little brain to go overanalyze the fact Renee called Hangman an ELITE level performer and Hangman made an odd face and then later said Renee said something that reminded him where he would like to go and he needs to mend fences and have tough conversations.
