It's the first time I've drawn him in years, so I've gotten a bit out of practice, but I still feel like I was able to reflect his whimsical sense. He is one of the characters I like the most in this saga, so I will probably bring more content from him.

Mini Fanfic #1224: Reunited at Long Last (King of Fighters)

12:10 p.m. at the Blanctorche's Grand Field.........

The eyes of Ash Crimson begins slowly open as he looks up to see his childhood friend and older sister figure, Elisabeth Blanctorche, softly smiling down at him, gently and slowly rubbing the hop of his rich, blonde hair as he was laying head on her lap this entire time,

Ash: Betty?

Elisabeth: Welcome back to the land of the living, Ash Crimson. Enjoyed your nap?

Ash: (Smiles Back at Elisabeth) Hm. I think so, yes. (Gets Himself Up From Betty's Lap as He Stretch his Upper Body Out and Lets Out a Light Yawn to Boot) Not the most suitable place to doze off at, is it?

Elisabeth: Perhaps, but it can't be helped. (Looks at the Rest of the Field in Front of Her and Ash) These fields......They're still as refined and peaceful as I last left them. It would be hard for anyone's eyes to gaze upon it's beauty for so long without dozing off, even a little bit.

Ash: (Nodded in Agreement) True. You really outdid yourself here, Betty.

Elisabeth: (Simply Nodded) Thank you. (Turns Back to Ash) Now, to discuss your sleeping schedule.

Ash: (Let's Out a Bit of an Exaggerated Sounding Sigh) Bettyyyyyy, I'm not a kid anymore! (Crosses his Arms While Pouting) I can take care of myself just fine, thank you.

Elisabeth: I'm aware of how older and capable you are as of late, Ash. I'm make sure you continue to be well and active for years to come. The body is a fragile thing to possess after all.

Ash: (Rolls his Eyes) I know. Would be real nice if you stop worrying over me by now......

Elisabeth: (Starts Tidying Up the Back of Ash's Collar) Well, maybe if you stop being a reckless idiot and giving me a heart attack with every chance you get, I wouldn't be half as protective as I am right now.

Ash: Yeah, well- (Tries To Think of Something to Counter Only to Sigh in Defeat Shortly After) Oh forget it. I always hate it when you make fair points......

Elisabeth: I don't. (Forms a Small but Proud Smirk on her Face) I find It to be one of the many benefits of being older and wiser in this day of age.

Ash: I wouldn't enjoy it as much if I were you. (Forms a Smirk of his Own) It only be a matter of time before you start forming wrinkles all over that refined face of yours~ (Snickers Before Suddenly Feeling a Sharp, Pulling Pain in his Cheek)

Elisabeth: (Pulls Ash's Cheek With a Bit of a Comically Glare on her Face) Silence!

Ash: (Starta Whining Like a Child) Owowowow! Bettyyyy! I was only kidding! Je suis désoléeeeee!!~

Elisabeth: (Finally Let's Go of Ash's Before Crossing her Arms, Pouting in Annoyance) ('Hmph') Still as annoying and immature as ever.

Ash: (Rubs his Pinched Cheek While Pouting Again) And you're still as bossy and obnoxiously uptight as ever yourself.......

Elisabeth: (Slowly Turns Back Ash with a More Darkened Glare) What was that?

Ash: (Quickly Gets Startled) Nothing! ('Clears Throat') D-Didn't say anything at all........(Shyly Rubs the Back of his Head) Other than I miss you....

Elisabeth: (Eyes Slowly Starts to Widen a Bit) You....really mean that?

Ash: ('Sigh') Of course I mean it. You're like an older sister to me, Betty. As well as practically being the only family I have left at this point. It was pretty difficult for me not to think about all the nice and simpler times we had beforehand. Then again, considering all the trouble i put you through in the past, I bet you were thrilled to have me gone for a wh-

Elisabeth: YOU INSOLENT FOOL!

Ash gets startled once more as he turns to see Elisabeth more passionate, distraught glare on her face this time around.

Elisabeth: How could you say something so incredibly incorrect and thoughtless into my presence!? The day you were taken from this world was the worst amount of pain I've felt in a very long time! (Starts Tearing Up) I wasn't thrilled about your absence at all, I was devastated.......(Covers her Eyes as She Cries Softly)

Ash: (Immediately Regrets What he Says at the Sight of his Now Crying Sister) Nononono, Betty!~ Don't cry! (Hugs Elisabeth) I didn't mean to say what I said! Really!!

Elisabeth: (Turns Back to Ash) ('Sniff') You're not just saying that- ('Sniff') to get me to stop crying, aren't you?

Ash: No, of course not. I meant every word! It was stupid and foolish of me to think otherwise and I'm truly sorry.

Taking Ash's sincere apology by heart, Elisabeth takes a very deep breath as she finally tries to calm herself down from all the crying she did earlier.

Elisabeth: Fine. I suppose it's no harm accepting your apology just this once.....(Wipes a Few Tears Away With a Hankerchef She Kept on her Pants Pocket) Listen, I know I can be strict, overbearing, or as you would like to call it, "a stick in the mud", and I know our relationship back then wasn't nearly strong and positive as it was when we were both children, but that will never change the fact that you're still, very much, precious to me to this day. I did all that I could to bring you back to this world and I will not hesitate to do it again if the worse could ever come towards your way again. (Smiles Softly) Because no matter what happens, I will always love you, Ash Crimson, for all my life.

Ash: (Heart Begins to Melt as He Starts Wiping the Tears Off his his Eyes) D-Damn it, Betty. ('Sniff') You got me crying now. ('Sniff') And I JUST got my mascara done and everything!!

Elisabeth: (Giggles a Bit as She Finally Hugs Ash) My apologies, brother. I had to express my inner feelings somehow without breaking down completely. You'd understand, right?

Ash: Of course i understand, you....SHE-JERK!

Elisabeth: (Raises an Eyebrow) She-Jerk?

Ash: Do you want me to call you the B-Word instead?

Elisabeth: No. I rather you didn't.

Ash: Thought so. ('Sniff') (Puts on a Pouty Look on his Face) You owe me big time for this, Betty...

Elisabeth: ('Sigh') Already regretting asking you this, but....What is it you want?

Ash: A new mascara, a slice of your homemade sachertorte, movie night, and cuddles.

Elisabeth: Ash, you're already cuddling up on me as we speak.

Ash: ('Scoffs') Duh! I just.....(Starts Snuggling Up onto Betty a Little Bit More) Wanted our session be in a more cozy, secure area is all. It is really too much to ask?

Elisabeth: No. (Rolls her Eyes) It pales in comparison to all the other requests you ask of me personally, but I'll see what i can do regardless. You should consider yourself lucky that I'm in a much better mood today.

Ash: I am. Merci, Betty~

Elisabeth: De rien.

Meanwhile in the Background......

Shen: (Watches Ash and Elisabeth in the Mid Distance While Standing in Front Two of Their Horses, Next to Duo Lon) How long are those two gonna sit out there? The heat is starting to creep up on me as we speak.

Duo Lon: It's getting to me as well, but I don't mind waiting for them a little longer. They've earned the right to reconnect considering all the turmoil they had to go through in the past.

Shen: Yeah, that's true. Or all the trouble that pipsqueak caused to get to that point.

Duo Lon: Also true. (Smiles Softly) But I'm happy for both of them nonetheless. It reminds me of the times my sister and I would spend together as kids.....

Shen: (Turns to Duo) Wait, you have a sister?

Duo Lon: (Simply Nodded to Shen) Yes, Xiao Lon. She's the youngest of the family and the only member that doesn't detest my presence currently. (Grabs his Chin While Thinking) I believe she's still training with Lin these days. He's another friend of mine from back home in case you were wondering.

Shen: Neat. You miss 'em?

Duo Lon: To some capacity, but I'm certain that they're in good hands at the moment, hopefully away from Ron's traitorous influence....

Shen: Still have no luck finding him these days?

Duo Lon: (Shakes his Head) No, not yet. His disappearance is starting to become more worrisome as each time passes. As beneficial it is in it giving me more time to prepare, I can't afford to let my guard down, even for a millisecond

Shen: (Casually Shrugs) Hey, if it helps give you more advantages, then I'd welcome it i were you. But let me know if you do find him. (Forms a Competitive Grin on hhis Face) I'd be more than happy to help kick his creepy ass to next week alongside with ya.

Duo: You're welcome to do as you please. (Forms a Small Smirk on his Face) If you doesn't he scare you along the way.

Shen: ('Tch') Please. I've faced tons of scarier shit growing up, I'll manage just fine. (Takes Out a Cigarette from his Pants Pocket)

Duo Lon: You smoke?

Shen: On a few rare ocassions. You got a lighter?

Duo Lon takes out a picture colored lighter out from his pocket and was about to light up Shen's cigarette, until-

Elisabeth: (In the Distance) Shen, if I catch a single cigarette bud on the ground of our field, I will personally have your head on a platter!

Ash: (In the Distance) Yeah, no smoking on our lovely field, Shen Woo!~

Duo Lon: Our friends have spoken. (Puts his Lighter Up)

Shen: (Puts on a Deadpinned Look on his Face Befire Putting his Cigarette Up as Well) Damnit. Can't have shit out here.

Duo Lon: To be fair, this is a fairly gorgeous field we're standing on. It'd be rude to mess it up with our trash.

Shen: ('Sigh') Yes, I guess. Still bored.

Duo Lon: be more patient. We'll head back inside soon. Eventually.
