Sajid Sadpara discovers the body of his father Ali Sadpara
After a lengthy wait, on K2, Gilgit Baltistan Information Minister Fateh Ullah Khan stated during the speech at Geo News on Monday that Pakistani climber Ali Sadpara, Icelandic John Snorri and Chilean Mohr were discovered.
In the peak of the K2, Sajid Sadpara is summoning his father, his pals Snorri and Mohr, together with the Canadian filmmakers Elia Saikaly and Pasang Kaji Sherpa. On 5 February, the mountaineers were lost and proclaimed dead a couple of days later, after not finding their bodies and calling down the rescue effort.
This morning, the crew had reached Camp 4 and flown a drone in search of their remains throughout the region, sources added.
The crew could identify a corpse in the vicinity of the bottleneck, over Camp 4.
Saikaly’s letter says that Juan Pablo has been buried by Sajid Sadpara and that the body of his father is above the bottleneck.
“Juan Pablo had only buried Sajid. His dad Ali is above the bottleneck just above. Tonight, we’re back up, “Canadian cinematographer remarked at 18:59.

‘Walking over bodies’: mountaineers describe carnage on Everest
An experienced mountaineer has described the “death, carnage and chaos” at the top of Mount Everest as climbers pushed past bodies to reach the world’s highest summit.
The death toll on the mountain grew to 11 in the past day after an American doctor was killed while descending from the peak. It emerged also that an Australian climber was discovered unconscious but had survived after being transported downhill on the back of a yak.
Elia Saikaly, a film-maker, reached Hillary Step, the final stage before the summit, on the morning of 23 May, where he said the sunrise revealed the lifeless body of another climber. With little choice at that altitude but to keep moving, his team – including Joyce Azzam, the first Lebanese woman to climb the world’s “Seven Summits” – made it to the peak a short time later.
“I cannot believe what I saw up there,” Saikaly said of the last hours of his climb in a post on Instagram. “Death. Carnage. Chaos. Lineups. Dead bodies on the route and in tents at camp 4. People who I tried to turn back who ended up dying. People being dragged down. Walking over bodies. Everything you read in the sensational headlines all played out on our summit night.”
This year’s Everest climbing season is so far the fourth deadliest on record, with mountaineers blaming poor weather, inexperienced climbers and a record number of permits issued by the Nepalese government, which, along with a rule that every climber has to be accompanied by a sherpa, led to there being more than 820 people trying to reach the summit.

Musings: Death on the Mountain
by Saṃsāran
The sad news that a fellow American and attorney around my age died on the descent of Mount Everest. NBC reports:
Adventure filmmaker Elia Saikaly posted a series of images to social media to show the “chaos” that unfolded during the mountain’s infamous “deadly season” over the past fortnight. Mr Saikaly said he “cannot believe what I saw up there”.
“Death. Carnage. Chaos. Line-ups. Dead bodies on the route and in tents at camp 4. People who I tried to turn back who ended up dying. People being dragged down. Walking over bodies,” he wrote.
“Everything you read in the sensational headlines all played out on our summit night.”
This got me thinking. First and foremost he should not have been there. His body was sixty-two years old. It is a human body. Human bodies wear down and his was worn down despite training and experience. He was by all accounts in good shape (for his age) and an experienced climber.
It was on one hand about challenging one’s limitations while on the other accepting the truth that we are mortal and that some limits will not be broken. The speed of light will not be broken. The death of the human body will never cease.
We are and always will be mortal.
That is because it is unnecessary and probably counterproductive for an individual organism to be immortal in terms of biology. In nature creatures would succumb to predation or accident in any case. Moreover, rapidly evolving and adaptive species are the best hope for passing along in Professor Dawkins’ classic phrase, “the selfish gene” and this is the measure of success for a life.
Ah, pride. Now as for Christopher Kulish, that’s the lawyer’s name, I suppose it was his right to take the risk so long as it did not endanger others. Still, it seems like an awfully expensive and uncomfortable means of committing suicide.

🗣️📢 Latest Update from K2 Camp 4 ⛑️🏔️🇵🇰 Bodies of Pakistani mountaineer Ali Sadpara, Iceland’s John Snorri and Chile’s Juan Pablo Mohr have been found, confirmed Gilgit Baltistan Information Minister Fateh Ullah Khan to Geo News on Monday. Sajid Sadpara, along with Canadian filmmaker Elia Saikaly and Pasang Kaji Sherpa, is summitting the K2 to find the bodies of his father and his companions Snorri, and Mohr. The mountaineers had gone missing on February 5 and were declared dead a few days later after their bodies were not found and the rescue mission was called off. The team had reached Camp 4 this morning and flew a drone around the area in search of the bodies, sources said. Through the drone, the team was able to detect a body above Camp 4 near the bottleneck. A message from Saikaly said that Sajid Sadpara has buried Juan Pablo and that his father's body is located above the bottleneck. "Sajid just buried Juan Pablo. His father Ali is just above the bottleneck. We will go up again tonight," said the Canadian filmmaker at 6:59pm. A minute later, Saikaly sent an SOS message for more oxygen as the team was running low on it. "If anyone can help us get more oxygen, anyone from Pakistan with influence, people at Base Camp leaving, we could use your help. Running low," said the Canadian. He added that the team is currently at Camp 4. 👉 Facebook; 📣 https://www.facebook.com/xplorevalleys/ 👉 follow us @xplorevalleys 🇵🇰@xplorevalleys 👉@xplorevalleys ------- Tags ------- - - - #travelers #peace #peaceofmind #campingplatz #hikers #hikerslife #hillcountry #travelworld #k2winterexpeditionkz #icelandroadtrip #chileanmemes #k2winter2021 #karakorum #sherpa #nepal #pakistan #mountaineering #expeditionk2 #alpinism #wintersummitk2 #k2winterascent #alpinism #icelandtravel #chilegram #k2 #K2winterexpedition2021 #johnsnorri #AliSadpara #juanpablomohr #alpinismo #climbinglife @john_ryder1 @john.snorri @jp.mohr @juanmatagarcia @juliusdein @chiletravel @iceland.explore @travel.in.brazil @greece.traveling @k2basecamptrek @kaleemullah10 @alittlepakis (at K2-The Mountain) https://www.instagram.com/p/CRzRBW9MEUP/?utm_medium=tumblr

畫面翻攝:news.com.au
