“Uhhh...nothing?” Eli spoke after a moment his cheeks flushing almost immediately a bright red, hand coming up to rub the nape of his neck. “I’m sorry,” He muttered after a moment, “Let’s forget it?”

“hey, thanks!” she said with a soft sigh as she sat down next to the other. she had been dragged by her friend that was nowhere to be found. she looked at the man, “ i mean…. kind of. i was dragged here. it’s not easy to be an introvert at a big party like this one.” she said with a little bit of a laugh, “well, not exactly an introvert but it’s tough not knowing many people.”

Waving off her thanks with a smile and tip of his beer as he tried best to keep body separate from the stranger. Not waiting to pushy despite the small space, turning slightly to better see her as she spoke. Smile widened to a full-blown grin at the comment about introverts. Laughing softly as she corrects herself, “Oh man I almost felt seen for a bit there.” He teases nudging shoulder gently, “Well now you know me, and I am Eli by the way.”

“Okay, he’s cute and a gentleman,” Elise noted, tapping her chin before making her decision.  “I think I’m gonna go with bridal style.  I need to see your face when you do it,” she explained with a dimple smile.  She got up from her stool, steadying herself in her stilettos, before she stood perpendicular to Eli.  “Now, don’t lift me if you know you can’t.  Last chance to back out,” Elise warned, slinging an arm around his shoulder.

Grin plays as features with her compliment a wink sent in her direction as he takes the moment to move closer. “As you wish,” Is replied as hands move into position, chuckle falling quickly with the warning. “Do you really think I’d embarrass myself like that?” Brow lifting allowing a moment to past before he in position, “Ready?” And with that he’d lifting the woman into his arms. Smile widening with triumph and the few claps elicited from the crowd don’t hurt his ego either, “Did you really doubt me?”

She might worry that he didn’t want to hold her hand, but – he started it! The realization is thrilling, butterflies in her stomach and chest. He doesn’t turn down the latest request, a surefire sign that she isn’t imagining the chemistry between the two of them. There’s something here, even if he had started as a distraction. “Let’s see, then.” She sits on his lap with confidence movements, letting her back press against his chest. “Is this alright? You can move me, get more comfy…whatever you need.”

Eli is thankful that the woman can’t see the red hue that colours his entire face as she presses back to him. Frozen for a moment as he tries to calm body down. Heart beating so hard he is afraid she will be able to see it. Throat clears as he begins to speak,”I-uh just need to” Large hands landing on her hips, adjusting her frame in his lap. Mostly to keep any unexpected things from popping up. “Is that okay?” He quested quietly lips by her ear.

“ That’s so cute ! ” She can’t help her smile. Sweet and all too soft, and really, honest in a way that it usually isn’t. “ No, it’s not weird. It’s adorable. It’s like, you guys are a real nuclear family. There are probably shows about you guys on ABC family or something. ” She reaches forward, holding his hand in hers. Fingers intertwining with his as her thumb caresses his skin softly. “ I wanted to be a teacher when I was little. ” Not that she ever had an option, really, “ Was she your teacher when you were in school ? Because that sounds fun. ” A chuckle. “ I like your life, Eli. ” Her eyes stay on his, “ I like you. ” In a way, she was almost relieved that she didn’t have to tell anyone about them. Like this, there was no way that the internet or random tabloids could ruin what they have. “ Can I meet your family ? ”

“Is it?” His brow furrows a bit never really thought of his family anything other than normal. It had never occurred to the man that there were some people that didn’t live similarly. Blush coloured his cheeks as s grin plays on lips dark orbs watching their hands tangling together. Happy, he felt so completely happy in the moment it’s only when the question comes that he’s looking back to her.  “She was, and it wasn’t fun, I could never not hand in homework or act out in class.” His tone teasing unsurprisingly Eli was the model student all through out the years. “I like you too,” Grin widens as hand tugs her closer before they’re moving to go about her waist. “Of course you can meet them, they’ve been asking about you.”

Eyes roll at him. “It is a big deal, though. Most dreams are just subconscious thoughts and that’s never good.” She can pretend to not know things, but Presley’s good at shortening her act when it comes to her friends. They’re far more important than anything she could ever think (or not think). “Okay, fine, maybe it is from the scary movie,” she shrugs. “Can you even name the movie you watched? Do you remember what it was about?” She scoffs quickly at his attempt to change the subject, head shaking at him. “I’d rather not, Eli,” Presley says.

Playful bump of shoulders is given trying to make light of this topic that she view quite serious, “Well even if they are how am I supposed to know what’s bothering me if its in my subconscious?” Tone quite playful despite the seriousness behind question. Leaning back as he seemed to ponder, “Fuck-” He laughs softly, “I don’t know I woke up to it playing on the tv,” Shrug of broad frame, “It was about these people that break into a familys cabin and like torment them,” Head tilts as dark gaze looks at her once more a frown pulling at lips, “That doesn’t sound good.”

Lauryn tilted her head, attempting to decipher his expression through the words that Eli very obviously wasn’t saying. “Good different…” She laughed, her cheeks tugging up into another smile. “Does good different earn me an I-missed-you hug? Or are we just going to stand here and both melt in this heat?”

Blush deepens with her next question, “Oh right, yeah of course!” Large arms pull the blonde into a tight bear hug, “I really did miss you,” Words muttered against the top on her head, “I’ve been looking forward to seeing y-Uh everyone again.” Another sheepish smile given as his arms slowly move back, “How uh-is everything, besides-” Gesture made to her face and frame, “It’s been a good year?”

Eli’s laughter rings out in the room the other wasn’t the first to be confused with his interest being so different from what one might guess. “You don’t look the type” he teased Jonathan with his own words, “Besides I was quite an unfortunate looking kid, I’m way better with video games than any sort of sports.” He wasn’t lying the brunette was a very late bloomer. “Mario doesn’t make fun of you for not getting action.” He adds before he’s moving to set up the game, handing the other a controller, “I promise to go easy on you.” A wink shot his way before he’s taking a seat besides the other male.

Shannon wasn’t sure if being opposite of his brother was such a great thing at times. Like these. If he worked out then he wouldn’t have practically whined all the way here. He’d have to start at least walking more since that excited look on Eli’s face made his heart melt a little bit. “Yeah. Just warn me a couple days in advance so I can prepare my poor out of shape body maybe?”

There’s another burst of laughter with Shannon’s comment his hand coming down to rest on the man’s shoulder, giving it what Eli hope was a reassuring squeeze grin on his lips. “You’ll get used to the hike before you know it,” The brunette teased the other, “Especially if we’ll be coming up here a lot. Worst case scenario I will start training you.”

“Well, when did you think I’d want to go!” There was a huff. “It’s like being like Eletta, look at this river I found. It’s so pretty, But we can’t go for forty-two days. No, Eli. That’s illegal.” She reached, gentle fingers taking one of his hands, holding onto him to keep him from turning from her. “What makes it so much more dangerous at night than during the day, anyhow?”

“In the morning, like most of us that are sane!” Even with the protest, he’s laughing. It was quite obvious that she would quickly be winning this fight but not without Eli putting up a little bit of resistance. She couldn’t always get her way so easily no matter how cute she was, “Did you mean besides the fact that it will be so dark we’ll barely be able to see where we’re going?” He offers with a rise of his brow, “Well there is still the fact that all sorts of creatures love to roam the woods under the blanket of night to consider, some of whom might be dangerous to the two of us.”

“I didn’t say you were an idiot!” Eli defends his voice coming out from lips much higher than he had intended it to. Clearing his throat for a moment,  “I’m not showing you my dick, just know that I am having issues and we’ll leave it at that. Besides, how do you intend to help me anyway?”

"Oh- no - yeah, of course," He is sputtering the moment eyes landed on the blonde, a soft smile landing on his lips as he takes a deep breath. "No, it's not take, yeah of course you can sit here." He corrects scooting over a bit and bringing drink to lips as she spoke again, head nodding, "UH- yeah I guess."

“hey, uh, i’m so sorry to bug you but is this seat taken?” elisabeth asked with a small timid smile. truth be told, she was lonely. how could she be lonely in a room full of people? she just needed someone who would actually talk to her. the small woman pressed her lips together, “this party’s pretty fun.” she said, trying to convince herself that it actually was indeed fun.

“I gotta ask the hard-hitting questions, babe.  Can’t take a guy home if he doesn’t lift,” Elise shrugged, obviously still joking as she shouted over the music.  He got another laugh out of her when he mentioned his guns.  “No!  Let me see…ooh, okay – but do they work, though?” she raised her hands, inviting him to lift her once more.

“I guess we are going to find out,” Eli laughs tho he isn’t quite sure she can her him, eyes once again running over her frame debating on the best way to pick her up. Leaning in to make sure voice is hear this time over the thumbing base of the music, “Fire man or Bridal style?” Brows arching slightly with the question. Always the gentleman the style was presented before he dared to throw the woman over his shoulder.
