❥ I reallyyy love writing poetry and i wanted to post it somewhere and Tumblr’s a perfect place to do so! I find most of my Inspo in stuff that happens in my life (relationships, break ups, friendships, fights, etc) because i believe it’s easier to write about those things because i have first hand experience. I love writing about anything and everything but it’s so hard 😭. I love when people give opinions or advice on any of my poems so feel free to leave comments and asks, i’m always happy to improve on my writing.

Melancholy

Submerging my body

into the ocean of melancholy

i’m drawn to it, the want to feel sick.

To finally be believed, to be worried for.

Water starts to fill my lungs and it burns.

The burn is painful, staining my skin.

but maybe people will notice the scars

Nature

Sunbeams shine in those gemstone eyes,

all those beautiful hues in nature’s spotlight.

Even the sun can’t take its eyes of you.

Prickly grass brushes the bottom of my feet,

my voice hurts from laughing so hard,

sprinting through fields with you is worth the harsh burn running through my lungs

As i lean against an old wise tree, holding your hand in mine, i’m five again, my only worry in the world is how hot the sun is.

i wanted you back then, i really did.

But i’m so glad you’re gone.

I’ve been released from my cocoon,

My wings are beautiful and truly me

something you never got to see.

I adored your eyes,

but seeing them full of judgment was my biggest fear.

It was hard to live like that.

Meticulously choosing parts of myself

to hide from you. It wasn’t right.

It was good to end what we were

and i don’t regret it.

how bright they beamed, his eyes burned.

Constellations filled his irises, a celestial show

confused, yet enchanted, he stands in a trance

Angry

i always hold myself back.

i bite my tongue,

holding back words i know i shouldn’t say.

My chipped nails dig into my skin,

hands curled into fists,

wishing i could just punch somebody.

But i’m so sick and tired

of pretending i’m not angry.

awkwardly laughing and staying silent,

Do you really think that’s how i am?

my blood rushes red and unafraid,

My mind begs to yell and fight.

I must scream, but i’m silent.

My worst fear is losing somebody

just because of some petty argument,

but i wish i could just not care for once.
