I thoroughly enjoyed moderating the Mosaic Institute's panel last night, with Judy Rebick and Jonathan Kay, after our screening of All Governments Lie.  The documentary examines how the media can sacrifice their independence and objectivity to financial interests and social orthodoxy.

Between them, Jonathan and Judy cover a wide spectrum of thought, and have been leading figures in both institutional and independent media. I am grateful to them for joining us.

The panel was part of Mosaic's work advancing public reflection and discourse, to strengthen pluralism and public policy in Canada.

New rules introduced by the last federal Government, such as paid personal days, flexible work arrangements, gender pay equity, accessible leaves, protections against contract flipping, guaranteed rest periods and improved scheduling notice are just a few of the long-overdue improvements to work standards for workers in the federally-regulated private sector.
