the answer is resounding as it is firm, as strong arms fit close over his chest to ACCENTUATE his denial. if that isn’t clear enough an answer for her, perhaps the exaggerated eye roll and the huff of air that is released from his lungs will be.

working for ellie hart has NEVER been easy. in fact -- it had never been even manageable. protecting someone who not only disliked but ACTIVELY TRIED TO AVOID his presence meant a never-ending game of cat and mouse -- only the mouse didn’t get eaten, the mouse started a fucking argument every time the cat caught up.

and all the while, the cat was trying to herd the mouse away from mouse traps, and the mouse was quite often drunk, and possibly THE SINGLE BITCHIEST mouse in the whole pack  -- herd ? pack ? what did one call a group of mice ? -- okay, this analogy had OFFICIALLY gone too far.

he pulled his attention back to the woman in front of him, pursing his lips as he shook his head, briefly, not budging from his stance. whatever elettra wanted from him now, it was no. why would he consider going anywhere with her when he wasn’t actively paid to do so ? his free time was precious and carefully guarded from his boss.

           tate has never been one to hide his nature for long. a talented actor for certain, but the boy is what he is, and sooner or later, the mask slips. he has been good for quite some time, behaving admirably in lofty hopes of that being recognized. by violet, by ben —— hell, he would have even taken moira’s praise over his change of heart, if it meant that someone had noticed. but they didn’t; no one ever did. it was as though he were truly invisible to the other occupants of the house, all the way up until the exact moment that he happened to slip up.

            and as the body at his feet and his quaking hands stained with blood could attest to, that moment has finally arrived. he hadn’t intended for her to see it, but there is little point in making excuses for himself, now. can’t unring a bell, can’t unsee a murder. a bolstered sense of bravado is the best he can do for himself at the moment and so he fills the role as best he can. jaw set into a hard line, he cracks a smile that is anything but genuine humor.            ❝ oh please —— don’t look so shocked. ❞

          The realization that he’d left his wallet at home was one that hit fast, with each subsequent pat of his pockets diminishing his hope that much more. Dammit... of all the things he forgot...

          He sunk into acceptance pretty quickly, despite his disappointment in his own absentmindedness. When a voice rose above him, he turns to meet it, an admittedly embarrassed look on his face.

I don’t wanna go putting someone out just because I’ve got a bad memory... ❞ Sure, what he was getting was hardly expensive, but he didn’t want to put someone else on the spot for it.❝ I wanna make it up to you though.            at any given time, though obviously not 24/7 for all items, tate is likely carrying around:

           a silver zippo lighter he nabbed off of his mother’s boyfriend

           an empty medicine bottle with a couple of ritalin and sometimes a half gram of cocaine tucked inside it

          a very basic swiss army pocket knife that had belonged to his father

          a brown leather wallet containing the most unflattering california state issued i.d. photo the boy could have taken

         tictacs, the white mint kind.

oh, gallant without a doubt. honestly, that’s why he has a lot of flings and one night stands. he gets attached extremely easily and has had his heart broken one too many times because of it.

that’s a good question! in canon, she only displays the gluten and calorie detection, so those are the only ones she’s aware of. but i definitely think there could be more that haven’t shown themselves yet. with more focus and practice, and help from the rest of the coven, she could definitely develop more powers. i don’t know exactly what kind of powers, but that’s something that i would love to explore in threads at some point. of course, coco never would be quite as powerful as a lot of the other witches, but she’s not as untalented as she thinks.
