Speaking about the "shoes off" policy in Korea, I've always wondered how does it work for manual workers (like plumbers or eletricians) who are called to fix something inside the house: in my country those people are required to wear a certain kind of shoes, for safety reason, and you can't even give them shoe covers. What are they supposed to do?

I'm not Korean, I'm Canadian, but here if a worker has to wear shoes you deal with it and clean up afterwards. Usually whatever they are doing is messy anyways so it's not a big deal. However, most plumbers who have worked in our house took off their shoes.

Our house inspector wore shoes in our house, but he brought his own little covers, like so:

We also have indoor shoes, so you can switch between a dirty pair and clean ones. My children have a set of shoes at school that they wear in the building only. A lot of office workers will also bring or have nice shoes at work, especially in the winter. Nurses and doctors usually have comfortable work shoes that they only wear indoors.

So anyway, in certain circumstances you may wear shoes inside, but generally you leave them at the door.

eletrician #2 couldn't make sense of the curse labyrinth that is our electric box and said the whole apartment needed to be rewired lol

electrician #3 spent the whole hour and a half he was here looking through the quadro and reseating wires and fucking around with it (with his friend, another eletricista, on the line) and then it didn't matter what we did, we couldn't replicate the problem

so knock on wood but i would love to never think about the fucking thing ever again

hell is electrician #3 (called into fix the mistakes of electricians #1 and #2) calling yet another electrician to be like “…so this doesn’t make sense, right?”

OMG this is AMAZING! I love it! I can imagine all the coming and going of Gimli (a montage of course), with Eomer sweating profusely, looking in despair at the big clock (as if there is some countdown) and Gimli slowing down just because (he thinks at first) it is annoying Eomer but in the long run because he enjoys the guy but oh, it will never work and he will go back to his life with his glowing roomate (Legolas being Gimli best friend) that is so much better looking than him. And Eomer is asking more and more help because (he thinks) he wants everything to be perfect for his sister but in the end it's because he likes this guy and how do you say this to a surely eletrician... I love this.

Aw, I’m glad that you’re enjoying Yuletide Éomer! I wish I could take credit for it, but it was gifted to me (and others) by the wonderful @emmanuellececchi for the holiday season! And a good thing, because my own PhotoShop skills are abysmal/nonexistent!

I don’t know why, but I have a strong feeling that Éomer in the real world would be one of those guys who takes decorating his house Very Seriously. Like, he is making the kind of light display that his neighbors will find impressive but also secretly hate because it brings a lot of extra traffic to their street. He plans it out months in advance with lots of diagrams and schematics. And if anyone else on the street does anything even *close* to as good as his display, he won’t rest until he’s upgraded with some fancy new innovation to make it clear that he is, in fact, the undisputed king of Christmas. So, yeah, I think he’s a Yuletide kind of guy! 🥰
