There was a point where Carlos by the times standards was an ok husband. In the beginning Carlos was attempting to do nice things she liked, but always With an air of dismissiveness. Taking her to the circus because she likes it, but then mocking her for liking the clowns, for example.

Carlos isn’t a monster in my mind, but just a consistently selfish and entitled person. With toxic masculinity bruising his ego about Elena being the breadwinner and him being the possible vector of infertility. But he was an orphan as well and he didn’t have the example of loving parents to guide him like she did. Their shared history of being an orphan without family, made them both desperate of fixing that with a big loving home they made. Disappointment and anger soured his love.

Carlos last name is Hernandez. But Elena was more famous, so that is why her name consistently was Elena Ruiz. Elena Rosa Hernandez Ruiz. It’s why Agustin and Felix go by Madrigal, the famous family rule.

So I imagine that’s an extra twist of the knife for Carlos. But he never took her last name in the proper order.

elena maria ruiz single-handedly destroyed a criminal empire that had survived through five generations of her family. at sixteen, her relationship with her girlfriend, nina campbell, came to a jarring end when nina dumped elena, a process that was followed by nina revealing that elena’s family had been firing employees at random for falsified reasons, and that the latest victims of their calculated dismissals were nina’s fathers. in an effort to repair the damages, elena broke into her father’s office, and while searching through the papers for documents on the campbells’, she came to the abrupt realization that in the days leading up to their dismissal, each employee had submitted for a private meeting with her parents to discuss “intimate issues pertaining to the company”.

elena proceeded to screen the rest of the documents. in this process, tiny fragments revealed a bigger picture. each of the fired employees had discovered problems within the company itself. criminal dealings, illegal exchanges, environmental dangers, you name it. and her parents, at the heart of it, were the subjects of numerous meetings relating to financial issues. namely, the embezzlement and laundry of billions upon billions of dollars.

elena reported them to the authorities. within six hours, her parents were arrested, though not before viciously disowning their daughter along the way. but as luck may have it, elena’s parents were also dealing with a certain company. a company which was similarly damaged by aisling’s actions. and aisling, having discovered what had happened, was the first person to volunteer to take in elena. 

elena has a reputation for being an ice queen, with popularity and coldness aplenty. but as her new family has discovered, time and closeness have thawed out her frosty exterior, and revealed a loving, if somewhat distant, sibling. her affections for her family and friends have blossomed into a reliable and fierce love, and while she enjoys her own time to herself, she also loves the family dinners she participates in, far more than the cold, loveless things she attended with her biological parents.

@founderscouncil's jed is a big one, considering i came up with flori after reading about one of ace's wanted plots. i also like @d3adthings' pj and flori together because i think they'd be great. also, @ofvalor and i made flosie a thing - josie and flori - and i love everything about them. there is also @fatecrafted's werewolf, sylas priestly, who i love. sweet werewolf himbo who comes from a huge pack and has a lot on his shoulders. @loetise's allie is also someone that i very much adore and consider an otp for flori. platonically, flori loves the anti squad (mia, loren) so fucking much. she'd fight, die and kill for them. they are her family. they're my platonic otp for sure.

flori's in her late teens, early to mid twenties. so i would prefer to ship with muses in that same age range.
