"If I could explain giftedness to someone who's never heard of it, I'd say..." 

People often tell gifted folks they are “smart” or have so much potential. In the past, to find gifted students they would ask them about how motivated they were to succeed as a measurement. That’s not even CLOSE to what giftedness is, giftedness is a three dimensional world (literally, neurotypical people usually think in “two dimensions” while gifted folks think in three dimensional).  On “The Gifted Neurodivergent Podcast” she did an exercise that you can try right now. 

     Imagine a playing card. Is it a flat picture or does it have depth? Is it just an image, or can you flip the picture around and look at the back or the side. 

If you say that it's just flat, you're a “two dimensional” thinker. But if you said you can move it around, you think in three dimensions.  This doesn't just go for pictures though, in the gifted mind, every thought is three dimensional. 

For some, the question “Did you do the laundry today” Might not be a yes or no question, our brain says:

“Well i put the clothes in the washer last night but decided i couldn't finish it, so I did the rest this morning and i'm actually in the process of folding it right now but the towels were still wet and i havent put the folded clothes away yet.. So..  I DON’T KNOW, STOP ASKING ME QUESTIONS!   (Maybe *slightly* exaggerated, maybe it’s my past experiences talking haha)

To which your non gifted friends or family say “It's a yes or no question. You don't have to provide every detail!!!”   You aren't trying to be annoying, but everything has so many layers that you don't know what the right answer is, you don’t know how to think as simply as everyone else. Or more accurately which part of the question they wanted you to answer, did you know it was in process and you were asking if I finished? Were you asking if I did it today or yesterday?. Don’t even get me started on when the answer is SUPPOSED to be a paragraph long.. 

The word “intensity” is often used as a more inclusive word for gifted individuals. It doesn’t seem as much like a bragging right. Giftedness isn’t just being smart, it is asynchronous development of the mind. (Your mind has developed a quicker pace and will continue to be that level of disconnected from your physical age) For me, I was told in second or third grade that I read at a twelfth grade level. I have also been described as “being 24 since I was 6 months old” by my father. It isn't just about being “smart” though, the source of intelligence comes from the INTENSITY of our minds. The intensity doesn't just come across in good grades. We have intensity in all or most areas of our life.

 Intense emotions: Always being told that you're too emotional and “It's not a big deal!”

Sensory Intensity: the lights are too bright, the sound of the electricity is too loud etc. 

Intense Personality: Always feeling like your full personality doesn't fit. Anywhere that you go.

Intense Cognitive Ability: Your brain works, finds patterns, and solves problems at a much faster pace.

Intense Focus: When engaging in intellectually engaging or hyperfixation hobbies, switching focus is difficult and jarring. Usually you're still thinking about it during the new task.

Intense Sense of Morality: When someone isn’t punished for an action or justice isn’t served, it bothers you greatly.

Intense Thoughts: Even when you don’t know what you’re thinking about, your brain is loud, you realize what those thoughts are when you go to talk to someone about anything and you talk about realizations you've had that you've never heard or thought about before

Now that we know about intensity it makes alot more sense why when we grow up being called smart and we make it our personality, it hurts so much to fail a class (in some cases that failure could still be as high as an A- maybe even an A if super duper pressured)

For hygge (sorry if I misspelled it). Maya and Carina having to go appliance shopping (washer, dryer, dishwasher, etc) broke while Maya was on shift. Her and Carina decide to go after Maya’s shift. Maya is checking out all the appliances and seeing which one has the better deal, better warranty, uses less electricity & or water. Carina is tired and pregnant and trying to keep a toddler entertained and just wants Maya to hurry up. Maya finally decides and tries to make it up to her wife by stopping by her favorite fast food restaurant to grab dinner and something sweet for Carina.

I am so not used to getting really detailed prompts, so I didn't follow this exactly. But I hope you like it just the same!

“This one has a five-year warranty,” Maya calls out, reading the information tag hanging on the side of the washing machine. “But that only covers repairs, not replacement.”

“Mhm,” Carina hums from somewhere behind her.

“That three-year warranty might be a better deal,” Maya continues, looking between the two indecisively. “Except, that other one without the warranty is more efficient than both of these.”

“Bambina,” Carina huffs, finally drawing Maya’s attention away from the row of appliances she’s been perusing for the better part of an hour. She’s holding tight to the handle of the shopping cart, her body tipped just enough to relieve some of the pressure on her spine. Her free hand rubs at the tight muscles in her lower back, the weight of her 36-week belly clearly getting to her.

Maya pales, suddenly cluing back into reality.

“I do not care if it breathes fire,” Carina hisses, laying a hand atop Andrea’s beloved stuffed ostrich before he can launch it out of the shopping cart… again. “Please, please just pick one so we can go home.”

They’ve been in their new house for only a couple of weeks. Already, the laundry has piled up – new bedding and Andrea’s mud-covered clothes from afternoons spent in the new backyard and stacks of baby clothes that need to be folded and put away before their daughter arrives. And, of course, the ancient washing machine that had come with the house had decided it was perfect timing to officially fall apart.

Maya recognizes that realistically, she’s not being overly rational. She doesn’t need to study efficiency and water usage and warranty details to make the correct choice. The selection of machines before her are all acceptable, all financially-sound decisions.

But there’s a baby in Carina’s belly – her  baby – and that fact alone seems endlessly capable of making her spiral.

It feels like they’re living the weeks before Andrea’s birth all over again.

“I’m sorry,” Maya swears, stepping towards Carina. She holds out her hands, an unspoken offering of the massage or belly-lifting Carina’s been gratefully accepting lately.

Carina shakes her head, though, her frustration and exhaustion evident. She catches the stuffed ostrich again, sighing heavily as Andrea wails loudly at the betrayal. “We will be in the car,” she says, maneuvering the shopping cart back towards the front of the store.

“I’m sorry,” Maya repeats as she climbs into the driver’s seat.

Carina has reclined the passenger seat as far as it will go, the pillow she takes everywhere now shoved beneath her lower back. Her eyes are closed, but she winces still as Andrea roars a little too loudly, one of his toy dinosaurs flying across the backseat and crashing roughly against the rear passenger window, mere inches from Carina’s head.

“Andrea,” she scolds without opening her eyes, “Non lanciamo giocattoli.” (We don’t throw toys.)

“’dactyl!” Andrea yells, as though the fact that the toy he’s thrown is a pterodactyl  is explanation enough for its flight.

“Inside voice,” Maya reminds him, turning in her seat to catch his eye.

He nods, pressing a finger to his lips as he smiles. “’dactyl,” he whispers. “Mama sleep?” he asks a moment later, brows furrowed as he looks at Carina.

“Yeah,” Maya answers, smirking when Carina’s own brow furrows. “Mama needs something yummy to wake her up. What do you think?”

The suggestion splits Andrea’s face into a wide grin, one of his little fingers tapping against his chin in his learned rendition of thinking. “’Misu?” he suggests.

“Good idea,” Maya praises him, smiling even wider when the corner of Carina’s lips lift. “And maybe some eggplant parmigiano, to make up for how long Mommy took in the store?”

“Long,” Andrea echoes.

Carina’s hand drifts across the console, landing gently on Maya’s thigh.

“Hopefully,” Maya continues, “Mama will forgive Mommy when our brand new washing machine gets delivered tomorrow, and Mommy can get back to work washing everything for baby Pip?”

Andrea’s brow furrows again, that little finger drifting back up to his chin. “Maybe,” he repeats, clearly trying to gather the words for whatever else is on his mind.

Carina peeks an eye open, watching him, too.

“Maybe,” he says again, “Mama get rub, rub, rub.”

Maya laughs, reaching into the backseat to grab hold of Andrea’s shoe. Their little boy squeals, delighted but immediately pulling himself out of the grasp. “I think you’re right,” Maya agrees, enamoured with his intelligence. “I think Mama does need a massage, too.”

They moaned and groaned into each other's mouth, and Kyle knew damn well could have swarn he felt a whimper rumble through his mouth and past his lips but not from it.

Hands bound, Kyle couldn't hold and touch Guy as he wanted, so he did more than excellent with his lips; hips, and everything else he could move to touch Guy. Guy always shivered when Kyle's dick pressed against his stomach, and now he felt the electricity continuously run through him as Kyle masterfully worked his dick, rubbed and fucked against Guy while not moving too much to disrupt what Guy did to his insides; which Guy loved so fucking much.

The warmth -literal and emotional- shared between them turned the room into an oven of love. Both basked and let 'em cook as all they wanted to do was sit here and feel the burn of their love swirling through the bed, the building and the very air in this room like ribbons composed of glitter and the smoke at the very tip of the fire in a fire place that has that pa-ting shine on it, almost a spark itself.

There were many sparks between them, making the room look as though it were filled with ten million fireflies.

Guy still buried deep in Kyle, just as they liked, spread wide as his heart was spread further in receiving all that love. Guy's heart beat fast from the activities and as he held Kyle here in his arms, in this moment. He felt like a high-schooler with a severe crush everytime he was this close to Kyle; his lover, and now was no exception.

It beat and beat and Kyle felt it pang against his chest, his own heart matching on the opposite side. Their hearts synced and their breathing calmed. They kissed each other again; slow and soft. Lips on lips and tits on tits- I mean heart on heart, as their movement speaks heart to heart.

They kissed and then you finally stopped snooping and let them have a cuddly cuddle session in peace.
