veilguard spoilers regarding a josie romance. but can we talk about the letter josie sends to a romanced inquisitor because. i’m sorry. fucking losing my mind at the fact that the inquisitor and josephine are close enough friends with the guy the inquisitor duels in her romance to be invited to meet his third child. implying they’ve been invited to the other two. at a baby shower and getting introduced as the one who dueled the baby’s father because he was trying to steal your girl. antivan romances insane.
NO LITERALLLYYYYY. AND HE’S AN IN LAW. ITS TOO FUNNY. i cannot imagine how they met and how yvette probably was like “teehee…. the man that my sister spurned…. has fallen in love with ME!” and the best/worst part is that ortranto really has. i like to think of them running around with each other and secretly meeting as though their families actually hate each other (they really don’t lol) . the ortrantos would probably be delighted to have their son actually marry a montilyet like they wanted, even better that they’re actually in love and it’s not arranged!
i have this image of josie going like “you can’t marry him. is this a joke, because it’s not funny. i almost embarrassed him! the only reason the ortrantos do not hate us is because he is a very kind man who saw that i was in love with the inquisitor! ….yes i suppose a very kind man like that could love you…….. yes of course i want you to be happy…… yvette gabrielle montilyet, i fear you are not hearing what i’m saying— DON’T SAY YOU ARE ALREADY AN ORTRANTO. DID YOU ELOPE? ah okay. don’t do that. i said don’t do that. yvette come back and listen to me” etc etc
of course i must believe that there was a big scene caused (once again) by a montilyet and ortranto that ends with lord ortranto making a speech where the publicly declares his love for yvette in front of all of antiva city to see and hear. so there’s no backing out from this one. in my mind there’s a rehash of the big “BECAUSE I LOVE HER!” (ortranto, desperate but genuine), “you do?” (completely aghast josie who has somehow missed the fact her sister has been giggling even more than usual), plus an “OF COURSE HE DOES!” (a thrilled yvette) that reminds josie so fondly of her own love story that she's immediately relaxed (and suddenly accepting) about this whole thing <3
#josie to me also feels more awkward than she lets on because she's quite good at being graceful and kind#but he is kind of. you know. the guy she rejected in front of val royeaux#i think the most out of character thing is that josie doesnt notice her sister and ortranto meeting up and falling in love etc#but i also think she can be busy enough being an ambassador/running the family business/eldest daughter#that she somehow misses it. for the sake of this beautiful idea i have. and also it would be cute and funny <3#also like the image of yvette saying ‘i’m getting married to adorno!’ and inq is like yeah ok :] congrats!#later asks josie like ‘oh yeah. who was the guy ur sister is marrying’ and josie pauses thinking abt how to say this LOL#this is also how trev finds out ortranto’s first name is adorno. nearly dies laughing over the whole situation i think#he really is like a footnote in her mind where she's like ':/ guy who almost married my beautiful wife' and then almost#without any issue she's able to go like 'GUY WHO IS MY IN LAW. AND WAS REALLY GRACIOUS ABOUT THE WHOLE ARRANGED MARRIAGE THING.#HE'S QUTE COOL ACTUALLY!' <- and has no issue about ortranto after this#much to josie's amusement and exasperation <3#josephine montilyet#adorno ortranto#yvette montilyet#not to mention josie's unseen brothers. they do intrigue me#the idea of either of them kind of finding out their youngest sister is running around with ortranto they probably sighed in relief like#yeah we can distract josephine with this. that will get her off my back about marriage for about a year.#even more if theyre planning the wedding!#evelyn trevelyan#<- mentioned briefly. i guess#veilguard spoilers#for a codex entry but when i saw it i did melt. everyone deserves to experience this firsthand#long post

To be honest, Evelyn did not belive that is all Lilith was doing. Not to mention the town-wide warnings about a killer on the loose the two had both been investigating for their jobs.
She waited out on the balcony on the darker side of the family home to watch where her sister was going before shifting herself and taking flight, now in the form of a red kite, staying back enough that she wouldn't be easily noticed by Lilith's keen ears or sense of smell.
When she caught sight of a man beginning to follow Lilith walking as a human she landed on a nearby building to observe. Evelyn wasn't worried about her sister's safety against one man, but did want to keep an eye out in case witnesses came along if she did actually have to defend herself.
Though as she watched she learned that Lilith set herself up as bait for this man. She considered stopping her but decided not to this time and approached after Lilith had mostly finished what she set out to do and landed in the alleyway to perch on a box, chirping to show that she was there.
A nightly walk.
Well, "walk" was a rather generous understatement of what she was doing, truthfully, but it was the best thing she could think of if anyone asked what she was doing. As her feet hit the cobblestone, Lilith's eyes immediately shifted back towards the window from which she'd slipped out of facing the alleyway. When no movement was seen, she was off.
The streetlamps were already aglow, dimly lighting the narrow streets on which she stalked. Her ears twitched every so often, listening carefully for footsteps to see if she was being followed. She kept her eyes on the lookout, trying desperately to spot her prey.
Male. Just short of six feet. Medium build. Fancies a single target instead of groups or pairs. Prefers to attack women but will target children as well if money can be gained.
She stopped dead in her tracks when she heard the metallic click of a gun. Lilith had to fight off the smirk that threatened to tug at her lips as she turned and spotted him. He stepped out from the alley and held the gun in one hand, keeping it held up towards her face. "All right, love. Don't scream and I'll make this as painless as possible. Hand over your money first."
"Sir, I have to advise you of two things. One: don't call me love," she said, trying her best to keep her voice even.
"Aye? And what's number two, love?" he pressed, taking a step closer.
"Two: you couldn't have picked a worse target," Lilith growled. She darted towards him, one hand going towards his gun hand, pushing it up and away while the other grabbed him by the face as she pushed him back into the alley with her impressive strength. Lilith felt a bit of satisfaction as she saw horror start to dawn in his eyes as her form started to shift, becoming far taller and more canine.

The Clawthorne Workshop
The oldest workshop of the Boiling Isles, lays abandoned and in ruin deep in the forests of the Titan's right arm, on the outskirts of the capital: Bones'yard.
The last recorded members of the Workshop were the Clawthorne Sisters with their friend and associate Raine Whisper.
Eldest daughter and hope of the Clawthorne Family, Lilith always resented the burden of being the firstborn of a decaying family, and aspired to one day join the Blood Coven, dream that led the young woman to spend as much time on tomes and ancient scrolls as training with sword and pistol.
And yet she executed her role as head of the Family with impeccable zeal, leading countless raids and Hunts with her younger sister Eda and friend Raine; until one day the Vicar himself took notice of the trio's successes, offering Lilith a place in the Hunters of the Blood Coven, until she rised to the rank of Captain and, finally, of Blood Nun.
As the firstborn of the Clawthorne Family, the Holy Moonraven is Lilith's birthright.
An ancient longsword imbued with the arcane power of the moon, discovered by the early Clawthornes deep in the forgotten labyrinth that sprawl beneath the Titan's skull. Very few brave souls have made it out of the wretched maze, with rumors that death is not the sole reason of their disappearance, and that the endless darkness is home to eldritch beings from other worlds...
Accompanied to the sword is Curse Caster, a standard firearm of the Clawthorne, crafted by Lilith's father, one of the last creations of the Old Hunter.
The youngest and most famous daughter of the Clawthorne Family.
Eccentric, sassy and rebellious, to her sister's exasperation and everyone else's admiration, she face each dark night of Hunt with unmatched confidence and abandon, bathing in the blood and guts of the beasts she slay with her owl shaped scythe.
Her weapon, lethality and supernatural silence, broken only by her laugh when her preys lay dead, have warranted her the nickname of Owl Lady, a motiff she fully embraced with her cloack, hairs and hat that resemble the feathers of such birds of prey.
For her successes, the Vicar himself appointed her the title as Deadliest Huntress of the Boiling Isles, the gifted shawl a symbol of her prowess in combat.
Her signature weapon, Owlblade, the last crafted by her father for her sixteen birthday, the same woefull day that he gifted her his own old blunderbuss, Cardinal Sin, the first day both of those weapons tasted blood and the last she would ever use the gun... resorting instead in using her own, raw, magic as ranged weapon during the Hunt.
The handle of the scythe is made from extremely rare palismen wood, a material used in archaic times to create magic staffs. While the intent of such material was purely an aesthetic choice, the Owl Lady would take advantage of the weapon's properties to boost her spells and incantations during the Hunt.
The Workshop do not provide only for the Family, but also used to accept lonely Hunters that were not part of the Blood Coven or any other Workshop and Syndicate.
Such example was the Hunter Raine Whispers, childhood friend of Eda, accepted at the Workshop as member of the family, later on affectionate lover of the huntress and trusted comrade during the nights of hunt.
As a passionate musician, they were gifted with a customized weapon: a wristblade that when pulled and shifted to the left arm transforms into a bow that channels Bard's magic into extremely sharps and deadly sonic projectiles.
Some others examples of weapons that the Clawthorne Workshop used to create for the Hunters.
The Workshop.
Forge, storage, safe haven for hunters where they would congregate to enhance their weapons and flesh.
Built from what in old times was the home of a lonely witch named Evelyn, it went under numerous renovations and expansions, the most notable the large, stoney, gothic cottage that act as living quarters of the inhabitants, with the older tower and building working as forge, laboratory and storage area for the hunters.
In the later years of the Workshop, it was home of the last surviving members of the Family, Dell Clawthorne, his wife Gwendolyn, their daughters Edalyn and Lilith and Eda's friend Raine.
Now no one remains in the ramshackled building, hidden deep within the forest, ever shrouded by pale mist and rumored to be haunted by unsettling and paranormal creatures... its walls witness of unspeakable horrors, gut wrenching tragedies and dark secrets.
_____________________________________________________________
This one took a while... both because It was a lot of work to make and because I had to wait for the previous pool to end, so here it is, the look at the Clawthornes and their role in the Owlborne AU!!...
...but wait, it feels... incomplete? Where are Gwendolyn? Where is Dell? What about... Evelyn? And if the Workshop is abandoned and the Clawthornes are no more, where did Luz get his weapons? Why doesn't Luz understand those rumors when she lives there with Eda herself...? What... what secret beckons her? O-of course she remembers where the house is! She just has to take the lantern and turn left... that specific lanter that... is always there... when she needs it... sometimes in the corner of a square, sometimes in a dark alley... sometimes on the side of a road in the forest... who...
is offering Luz the Eye of a Blood Drunked Hunter... will she accept it?

okay for the record i did vote "her parents" because i think parents are like hugely formative and influential relationships you have and remain that way forever especially when they are good parents you feel love and gratitude toward. she literally has been living with them to help w/the household because both of her parents have physically painful disabilities now and her sister has a debilitating mental illness. emily obviously wants to have her own life and start her own family but the family she already has would suffer without her, so she stays. i think she cares about her parents a lot.
that said, if i wanted to play devil's advocate, i could argue for the other two options as well. her parents are obviously getting old, and sometimes you have to just like, start preparing mentally for the fact that they may start losing their minds, your parents start to forget things or get snippier and you're like is this it? is this where the dementia begins? it can be hard not to detach.
as an eldest child you feel an obligation to protect your younger siblings -- in emily's case, it's just the one little sister she has, but it's a very real sense of guilt when they turn out "bad" per se. when they get hurt and it feels like it's your fault. jessie obviously has an inferiority complex compared to her older sister and it becomes Much more obvious once she becomes god and i think those things aren't lost on emily. i can imagine out of any of the 3 options, jessie could evoke the most GUILT, quantitatively and qualitatively. every stupid opinion emily had as a teenager, every fight and hurtful thing she said to her sibling, every time she detached to prioritize her own peer group instead-- it's just decades of things to feel like she could have possibly done something different, and her sister might have not turned out to be the way she is. so i could see this option as viable.
trouble's relationship to emily was the least obvious -- over the course of the story, trouble loses respect for emily as emily tries to treat her more like a person than a dog, because being able to talk puts trouble's sapience on full display. trouble can now say "i don't feel like it" about anything and emily backs down because you can't like, FORCE people to do things just because they're smaller than you. emily has to wonder what the 17 years of trouble's life were like from her perspective, not being able to say anything, not being treated like a person, being told when and what and how much to eat, what to do and how to feel about it, and it's easy for emily to wonder if she did something wrong -- REALLY wrong. trouble is arguably the closest thing she's had to feeling like a parent and i think it would leave some deep impressions on her psychologically to wonder about those things, many memories she has of trouble and what they mean about her as a person or as a hypothetical mother. also, trouble's death wasn't UNDONE; she died, and then became alive again. she remembers dying. she remembers emily taking her to the vet to die! she tells emily (in a sketch comic i never finished) that from her perspective, emily killed her, and she would have chosen to suffer until her body died than to be killed by her caretaker. trouble doesn't really seem to harbor ill will about it, because the one in charge gets to do what they want and make everyone else do what they want. but for emily, that's like an incredibly painful thing to hear from her dog. the side comic is intentionally supposed to hit a very painful hypothetical where your pet thinks you've murdered them after you have them put down in, from your perspective, their best interest. it's a ton of different negative emotions emily can feel all at once! also, trouble calls adam "dad" and evelyn "mom" which is presumably more just assuming those are their names, but i can imagine that also kind of stings. in fact, trouble eventually starts to satellite "mom" instead of emily because evelyn still treats her like a dog and is an authority figure who asserts that in the household.
anyway, sorry for the huge walls of text, this is just a thought experiment more than anything. all in all i think emily is dealt a brutal hand of cards. but she does suffer one of the least tragic fates of anyone in the comic as far as the comic goes.

Eight Years Later
Alissa’s pov
“Are we sure we have everything packed in the truck?” I questioned through the large cabin house at six in the morning. This morning was a normal work day for our families. Today is the day Faith heads off to college at Texas Tech for her freshman year.
For the past few months I had been preparing everything that she might need but I certainly had never been to the Lone Star State in my life so I had no clue what to expect.
Footsteps came from the kitchen where I saw it was Tate who was sliding his boots on. “You’re packing like she’s going off to war or moving out forever.”
“She’s staying there for months, Tate. So yes in a way she is moving out but we don’t talk about the thought of that.” I sniped back to my son, feeling tears forming in my eyes until I sniffed pushing them back down not wanting to cry.
I heard boots moving on the creaking wooden steps of the staircase before I heard my husband’s voice entering the living room. “Tatum, be nice to your mother. You're going to miss your sister when she’s not around everyday.”
“Nah.” He stuck his tongue out until someone jumped on his back causing him to tumble to the ground with a fit of laughter and giggles from his younger sister.
Madeline Evelyn Dutton looked more like me than her father. She had her hair pulled back into pigtails with a tan cowgirl hat sitting on her head.
Tate gently pushed her off of his body untangling their legs from one another. “Get off me, Mads.”
“Okay. Everybody get in the truck, we've got a long drive ahead of us.” Kayce hollered, causing the two kids to run outside and we saw our eldest daughter coming down the stairs with a backpack on heading out the door. The five of us piled into the Livestock Commissioner vehicle with everything else stuffed into the truck bed.
The drive was really long meaning Kayce and I took turns on who drove letting the other person get sleep so we didn’t get into an accident. After hours of being on the road we finally parked the car near her dorm building and carried whatever we could in the direction of her building.
Sitting down the last box of her stuff I raised my voice at my youngest daughter who was jumping from one bed to the other giggling loudly. “Madeline! Stop jumping on those beds and say bye to your sister.”
Madeline slides off the bed running over to Faith wrapping her tiny arms around her sister crying into her shoulder. “I’m gonna miss you.”
“I’m going to miss you too, Mads. But don’t worry I’ll always call you before you go to sleep.” My oldest daughter ruffles her sister's hair, wiping away her tears before going over to Tate.
Tate was trying to act like he wasn’t going to miss her but we knew better. Her brother wiped his hand under his nose holding back tears. “Faith!” It didn’t last long before they embraced one another crying for about 30 minutes.
Kayce and I watched them hug the other until they had got all the crying out of their system. Tate broke the hug sitting on his sister’s dorm bed with his younger sister. I bolted across the room and around the boxes, flinging my body into my daughters bawling out tears. “I’m going to miss you, baby. But I know this is what you want and so I’ll have to get used to you only being home for the holidays.”
“Don’t worry, mom. I won’t get myself into too much trouble here.” I held onto her forearms when we separated from the hug. Faith had decided to bring her light cowgirl hat to college with her even though I was sure she wouldn’t need it. “Just keep an eye on those too and remember that I love you.”
“Stay away from college boys.”
Faith and I turned our heads in the direction of her father’s voice. I knew he wasn’t a fan of her liking boys. We hadn’t had to worry too much since she grew up her whole life on a ranch working. But now this would be different.
“Dad, you don’t have to worry.” Faith attempted to reassure him.
Her father came up to her when I took a few steps backwards letting them have their moment together. “Sweetheart, listen to me, you may be able to outrun the boys here. But they are going to look at you differently and you’ll look at some differently too. I don’t want you to talk to any boys or even look at one the whole time you are here because if he breaks your heart and I’ll -“
“What your father means to say is we want you to have fun but be careful most of all.”
Faith jumped up into her father’s arms holding back tears before he kissed her forehead. “I love you, dad. I’ll be careful, cross my heart and hope there’s horses in heaven.”
“Don’t break your promise, baby. I love you.” Kayce warned her, burying his face into her hair holding her for a long time before I looked at my watch seeing what time it was, meaning we should start heading back to the ranch.
“We should probably start heading home. We don’t want to be driving in the dark the whole way home.”
“Can I walk back to the truck with y’all?” Faith asked with tears welling in her eyes.
I extended my hand looping my fingers with hers never being able to say no to my baby girl. “Of course, Faithy Rae.”
Faith’s pov
Walking on the campus I felt the wind blow up the back of my green dress. Thankfully I decided to wear leggings underneath it even if it was another hot day in Texas. Frantically moving my head back and forth I knew that I probably looked like a fool not being able to even find my way back to my dorm room after leaving my family in the parking lot seeing as they had a long drive home.
I should have paid better attention to what directions we went to find my dorm room.
Stopping on the middle of the sidewalk I turned the campus map in different directions in my hands hearing someone walking up behind me so I asked my question. “Excuse me, could you point me in the direction of the East Wind dorm building?”
“I can show you something better than that. My bed specifically.” A guy tan with short black hair smirked quickly walking up and pushing my body up against the nearest campus light post.
I grunted against his tight grip on arms, dropping my backpack and map on the grass. “Please let me go. I - I don’t know you. I’m just looking for my dorm.”
“You want me. You want me by walking on this campus by wearing that dress. I know it.” The guy put his face closer to mine making me get even more uncomfortable.
Shaking my head I attempted to push him off of me but he was much stronger than I was. “Please just let me go.”
“Nah. I’d rather have my way with you.”
Another male voice joined the conversation causing me and the guy holding me hostage to turn our heads in the direction of the new voice. “The girl said to let her go.”
“I wasn’t asking for your permission.” The stranger snapped at the other guy who had begun to take a few steps toward us.
The new guy who was wearing a red baseball cap with a big letter T on it. He turned his hands into fists challenging the stranger. “Clearly you didn’t ask for hers. Now you heard her, let her go before I make you.”
“You’re gonna make me. Ha. Yeah right, little worm.” The stranger dryly chuckled hiking up part of my dress
The other guy suddenly ran forward tacking the guy who previously had his hands on me. The new guy wrapped his arms around the guy's waist slamming him down onto his back on the grass. “I warned you once. I don't want to have to warn you a second time.” The guy who was bothering me moaned in pain, stumbling up to his feet.
“I'll remember this, worm.” The stranger spat in his direction walking away and leaving the two of us alone.
Releasing a breath I didn't realize I was holding in I brushed my hands down my dress fixing it as much as possible. “Thank you. Um can I ask how you learn to fight like that?”
“I wrestle here at Texas Tech. I haven’t seen you around here before. Are ya a new student?”
Tucking some loose hair behind my left ear I replied. “I am actually. My parents had to head back to our family ranch in Montana this morning. And I um - don’t even know where my dorm building is at.”
“I can help you find it. Oh here's your stuff back. I'm Cooper by the way. Cooper Norris.” He reached down scoping my backpack and map into his hands while introducing himself with a weak smile on his lips.
I smiled sliding my backpack onto one shoulder eyeing his face seeing he had dark brown hair tucked underneath the Red ball cap and dark green eyes. “I'm Faith, Faith Dutton.”
“It's nice to meet you, Ms. Montana.” He chuckled, gesturing with his hand with me standing beside him where we appeared to be almost the same height. “Come on, your dorm should be just around this next corner.”
Cooper and I walked in silence but it wasn't awkward, it was a comfortable silence like I had known him for years. I had to admit this didn't seem anything like Montana. There was just dessert everywhere, very few trees around and the sun felt like it was melting me by how hot it was. We entered the dorm building and I got my room key finding I was on the 2nd floor, room 218. Opening my door I saw that my roommate had made it to our room now.
The girl turned around, throwing her dark curly hair around and tacking me in a warm hug. “Hi I'm Caroline. I'm your roommate. It's so nice to meet you.” She was dressed in Jean shorts, a white tank top and some worn out tennis shoes.
“I'm Faith. It's nice to meet you.” I hugged her back before she broke the embrace seeing Cooper leaning in the doorway.
“Is he your boyfriend?”
Cooper and I instantly blushed at the exact same time. “No.”
“We just met. I - uh was helping her get back to her dorm.” Cooper lowered his gaze to the floor blushing as red as a tomato.
Caroline nodded her head in understanding changing the subject. “So are you two going to the Patch Party tonight? I heard rumors that it's supposed to be pretty fun tonight.”
“No. What's a Patch Party?” I looked between the pair, never hearing something like that back home in Montana.
Cooper stuffed his hands in the pockets answering his question. “They’re not a big deal-“
“Pffft. Don’t be telling this girl lies, Norris. She ain’t grown up here like us.” Caroline glared at the boy in our dorm room, taking my hands in hers grinning giddily. “We go out to the oil wells, and bring kegs, and circle up the cars on the pad and I don’t know. Just blow off some steam.”
“That sounds like fun.”
Caroline stuck her tongue out at Cooper teasingly. “Told you she’d like it.”
“Fine, fine. I’ll go.” Cooper agreed with his friend. “What's the smirk about?”
I smirked knowingly breaking my father’s one rule and it hadn’t even been a full day yet. “I’m about to break my daddy’s number one rule. Don’t follow in my parents teenage footsteps.”

Can we plz get a Benrey and Tommy family lore drop/explanation
OH BOY. well here’s the complete rundown to all that I have figured out.
The Benrey Lore:
Benrey Nilabi was born a runt in a place called Cerutina, one of the many places that connects to Xen. (Cerutinans are blue-eyed shapeshifting beings that all hold a sort of deep subconscious hivemind. Bc Benrey is a runt he isn’t connected to this hivemind and is less empathetic/emotionally connected than his family and peers but still tries to through sweet voice. He also lacks the faster healing factor/ extreme shapeshifting that other Cerutinans have.)
He used to live there with his mom, Momma Moola and his abusive older brother, Arden Ardven, and his 16 other younger siblings on a farm until his Arden got a bit too abusive and which resulted in Arden losing his eye in a fight with Ben, which then turned to Ben leaving the farm off to Xen then to Earth.
Momma Moola then died to to a chronic illness not too long after with the rest of his siblings choosing to scatter across the galaxy to pursue their own careers (which is typical for Cerutinans, as most are nomadic and love to integrate themselves into different cultures.) Few stayed on the farm. Arden ended up getting arrested and locked up in a galactic prison bc of his less than savory/ violent preferences on how an alien society should be.
The Tommy Lore:
Thomas “Tommy” Coolatta was adopted into a family of 3, that of his strange yet caring Father (G-Dad), his two-faced eldest sister Evelyn “Evie” Chiller, and his older brother, Graham Chillatta.
Evie was unintentionally raised as a bit of a megalomaniac with a strive for perfection with a hint of businessman savvy. After Tommy was adopted she got extremely bitter of her father’s different methods in raising him, feeling negatively towards the both of them.
Meanwhile Graham was raised in the shadows feeling inadequate about everything, including himself (he’s got a list of medical conditions, one of them causes him to feel he can’t quite emotionally connect to other people. When he isn’t working on projects, he often surrounds himself with paid prostitutes and hype men so he “feels some sort of connection” even if it’s the artificial kind.)
Evie saw this in Graham and as the two got older they distanced themselves from G-Man and Tommy to pursue their own business ventures. Graham sees Evie as the only person he has a real relationship with (the familial kind. Not the gross kind lmao. JUST TO BE CLEAR.) which makes Evie just take advantage of him easily.
Their lore gets wonky from here but just know that Evie and Graham run a business where it seems all hunky dory from the outside but is really just a coverup so Graham can experiment on life forms. (OH and that the trio are reincarnations of a being that was made of light that created the universe but exploded that resulted in the creation of planets and such whaaaat?)
AND THATS AS MUCH AS I LORE I COULD GIVE. COMPRESSED. If there’s any specific character/ thing you want to know more about just ask. I’m tired lol
#small things#ask reply#benrey fam#cmy siblings#ohh the Tommy lore is a different beast to get into#BUT JUST KNOW#that that being of light was the thing that’s remains eventually became the Cerutinans#just a part of it#so like#it’s all connected#it’s all coming together

The Admiral's Daughter is a fictional period drama with fantasy elements and pirates, and I'm in the later editing stages of writing it. If that sounds awesome to you, feel free to follow along for updates, ramblings, snippets, and whatever else I happen to create for this work along the way!
story summary: When Maristella Arrington, the admiral's daughter, meets a charming young lieutenant named Adrian, he convinces her to join the royal navy. She enlists, alongside her best friend, Verity.
A few days before her graduation from the naval academy, she receives word that Adrian's ship, while engaged in battle with a pirate vessel, was sunk, and he perished along with it. Maristella then sets out to get her revenge on the pirates who sent Adrian to his watery grave, which proves difficult when she finds that the pirates haven't killed him— they've recruited him— and she must join forces with them as well in order to save Verity's life.

character intros under the cut!
Maristella Arrington: Maristella is the eldest daughter of Admiral Charles Arrington. She loves nothing more than spending a few short months of the year at sea with her father, and is fascinated by life at sea and naval battles. She is confident and loyal, which makes her a strong leader to those around her.
Verity Sterling: Verity has been inseparable best friends with Maristella since they were kids. She's skilled in swordplay as well as giving supportive advice, and she would do anything for those close to her.
Adrian Alyward: Adrian joined the navy with his sister, Evelyn, and they quickly rose through the ranks after their bravery in saving the Admiral's life at the Skirmish at Bedisa Sea. Upon meeting Maristella at the Admiral's Ball, he's immediately smitten with her, but their blossoming potential of a relationship grows complicated when he joins forces with the treacherous pirates that frequent her seas.
Evelyn Alyward: After joining the navy so she and her younger brother, Adrian, can make a name for themselves, Evelyn soon becomes captain of The Noble Guardian. When they have an unfortunate run in with a nasty lot of pirates, her fate is changed for the worse, and she must look to the brother she's always sought to protect to come through and save her from an unpleasant demise.
Admiral Charles Arrington: Admiral Arrington is in charge of most of the navy, and captains his flagship The Star of the Sea, but most his favorite role is that of dedicated husband, and of father of six. Though he'd never claim to have favorites, his soldiers and family alike know he has a soft spot for his eldest daughter, Maristella. Despite his fatherly concern for her safety when she joins the navy, he's excited for the opportunity it provides to spend time with her.
Victor Durand III: Victor has been a rival of Maristella's ever since she was eight and he was five and her dad got promoted to Admiral while his was still a commodore. He enlists in the navy just shortly before Maristella does, and while both of them would deny it, they grow to tolerate and even, on rare occasions, appreciate each other.
Conroy Lewin: Conroy's father, Professor Lewin, is the professor of general studies at the naval academy. He quickly becomes friends with Maristella and Verity, as someone who understands what it's like to grow up in a navy family. He enjoys studying and sharing information, and joins the navy around the same time as Maristella.
Lenna Arrington: Lenna is Admiral Arrington's wife, and she runs a tight ship at home while her family is away. While she's always happy to support her children and their dreams, a part of her still wishes her eldest daughter, Maristella, had chosen to settle down and get married instead of pursue a life of high-seas adventure.
Cordelia Arrington: Cordelia is eight years younger than Maristella, and though she's the closest in age to Maristella, they share little in the way of hopes and dreams, and Cordelia can't wait until she's old enough to attend some fancy balls and tea parties of her own.
Dylon Arrington: Dylon is the oldest boy among the Arrington children. There's a year in between him and his siblings on either side, and Maristella and her friend Verity often train him in swordplay, strategy, and, much to his chagrin, ballroom dancing. Of all his siblings, he's the one who looks the most like their father.
"Charlie" Arrington: Charlie is Lil's twin brother, named after their father. At eleven years old, he shows quite promise with his writing and creative thinking, but he often struggles with controlling his temper.
"Lil" Arrington: Lil is Charlie's twin sister, named after their mother. She loves reading and studying and is quite level headed for a child, at least, until you ask which of them is the older twin. She'll swear up and down that it's her, and though Charlie couldn't care less about which of them is older, he enjoys bringing up the fact that it's actually him.
Randolf: Randolf is the youngest of the kids, and his favorite thing in the world is when his dad tells stories and he gets to help act them out.

State of Grace: Prologue (MOTA Fic)
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/9e3186962f722f5be4e721c596ec75c2/fd010906d31dd100-3b/s540x810/dc6bc31c859142915ccd75f1cd56afcca5975c79.jpg)
A/N: I arrive delightfully a few months early because my MOTA content has been so lacking as of late. Have a Brady fic for kicks and giggles, my darlings!
January, 1943
Dear Grace,
I think this might be one of the first letters that I’ve actually responded to. Though I think you will do wonderfully at Westfield College, I worry that you being in London will pose more danger to you and your family than if you stayed in the states. I shall ask one of the professors that I’ve kept in contact with to keep an eye out for your arrival. It’s important that you have the proper support and as your sister in the pen, I hope I can provide some of that for you.
Things here are fine, though you know I can’t express much. I learned on Christmas Day that mother and father succumbed to illness and I am now alone in this world. With Daniel’s death, there has been a lot of uncertainty for me. Do your best not to worry your pretty head about me though—I’m grown and can handle myself.
As for my dear friend, DS, we have heard little about his situation. One can only hope that he is alright somewhere—and given the fact that neither you or I is a God-fearing woman, we best leave that to those that are religious. In other news, I find myself coming back to Europe for a small time in order to handle my parents’ affairs and ensure that the estate goes to good hands. I don’t intend to stay in England long, and will most likely be back on the road. PM is a good leader though and I trust that he won’t lead us astray.
Please let me know if there is anything I can arrange for you during your stay in London—I’d be happy to ensure that you have the proper books or anything else that you need, my dear.
All my love,
Evelyn Hughes
P.S.—Please do your best to stay away from both American and British soldiers. You’re young and you have your whole life ahead of you. Best to focus on your schooling and having a bit of fun while you’re young. Leave the trouble to me until the war is over.
Gracie Spaatz’s hands gently brushed over the paper. It was her first letter in nearly eight months from Evelyn Hughes—though she had dutifully sent her letters every chance and every week that she had gotten. Grace was always so consistent with writing, and back before the war, Evie had been too.
Now though, there were complications with things such as letters. It made a world of difference though, being in London and being able to actually contact her friend. Gracie Spaatz was many things, but lacking in friends was certainly one word for her current predicament. After all, how could she have foreseen that her father would want her and her sisters to pick up and go to London with him during the war?
All of her friends and her entire life was back home in Pennsylvania. And though Gracie was rather excited to see England (after all she was nothing if not a lover of literature), that didn’t make up for the sudden change in her life.
“You know, you all didn’t need to come with me,” Grace stated, eyes falling on the others in the motorcar.
Her eldest sister, Tatty, just snorted at her. “Oh please, as if we’d let you go into London by yourself.”
“You’re only 19, little miss,” Rebecca added, giving her knee a pinch with a wide grin. At that, Grace swatted her hands away from her knees.
“Daddy, she’s pinching again!” Grace said with a huff, smoothing over her skirt.
General Carl Spaatz just spared a glance in the backseat, giving the girls all a warning look. Carla leaned forward, voice low. “You’re such a little tattletale, you know that?”
“And you love me anyway,” Grace retorted smugly, flouncing her blonde curls as regally as she could. Growing up with three older sisters meant that they were all very very close—but they also knew just how to push one another’s buttons and drive the others mad in very specific ways.
“Girls,” Ruth Spaatz, their mother, said pointedly. “I won’t have you fighting in the last few minutes that you four will be together. It’s just not right.”
“Yes, mama,” All four girls chorused at the same time.
Still, Grace shifted in her seat, eyes stretching over the gothic architecture and the beauty of the English land. “I can’t believe they moved us out here,” Grace huffed out.
“It’s better than getting blown up in night-raids,” Tatty deadpanned.
“Maybe so,” Grace retorted. “Either way—you all act as if I’m the one going off to war. I’m just going to college—and not because I want to.”
“Being an actress is not a good profession for a girl such as yourself—and there is a war on right now,” Ruth Spaatz remarked sharply. “So for now, you’ll go to school and get an education. I’m sure Carla and Becca would love the opportunity to go to college,” she added as an afterthought.
Carla and Becca just shook their heads. “With Tatty and you working at Thorpe Abbotts and the Red Cross, we’d like our own space, thank you very much,” Becca replied quickly.
It was true—Tatty and Ruth would be working on the Royal Air Base of Thorpe Abbotts, serving alongside the Red-Cross. Grace found it all rather dull—though there was a certain air of romance to the entire thing, being on a base with all of those soldier boys. Becca and Carla had elected to stay in London and work as typists and messengers, delivering messages as needed.
In a way, everyone in the family was going to be doing something to support the war effort. Everyone but Grace. Being the youngest and only 19, Grace had grand ideas about what life should be like and this whole war business, it was a nasty affair. She wanted it to be over as soon as possible and put the entire thing behind them. After all, she valued beauty and softness and goodness—and with rationing of materials and foods, it left little for Grace’s actual interests.
No one wanted to grow flowers during a war. No one wanted to make waves in the fashion industry or focus on hair-curling techniques or makeup. No one wanted to better understand the Romantic Period of England’s literature, and no one wanted to be back on the stage. No one, that is, except for Grace.
Still, her father couldn’t complain too much. If she was indeed boarded at a women’s college, it meant less trouble for him. And Grace was certainly one that usually caused trouble. It wasn’t that she was the trouble—it was that she attracted it better than anyone he had ever met.
As they pulled up to the redirected Westfield College—it had been moved to St. Peter’s Hall in Oxford for better protection for the students—Grace couldn’t help but click her heels together and smile brightly at her family. “Well this is where I leave you, au revoir, dear people—” she started, nearly tripping as she attempted to make her way out of the car quickly. She loathed long goodbyes and the last thing she needed was her mother or sisters crying over her departure.
“So eager to leave us,” General Spaatz stated, catching onto her wrist before she could fall. He steadied her, hands immediately going to her shoulders as he looked at his youngest child. Grace was the wild one, born with a spirit for life that many people could never achieve. She had these wide-eyes and dreams and he loved her for it.
“It’s not leaving, it’s just school.”
“Honey,” General Spaatz said in an unusually warm tone. “I want you to focus on your studies, I want you to make something of yourself. You’re smart—though you don’t give yourself enough credit for it.”
Grace let out a small sigh. She’d rather be married and having a kind man’s babies than going to college, but fate and her father had other plans for her. “I’ll focus as much as I can,” Grace promised half-heartedly.
“And by that,” Ruth said, pulling her youngest child in for a hug. “I know that you mean you’ll be on your best behavior and do what’s expected of you.”
Giving a quirky grin, Grace just shrugged at her mother. Grace had aspirations and ideas about who and what she should be—her idols lay somewhere in between Jane Austen, Alice Roosevelt, and Vivian Leigh. So that trio in and of itself lent to a more surprising sort of attitude and personality traits that Grace could adopt.
“I will, mama. I love you all,” Grace amended, smiling brightly at her family. Her gaze locked onto the college in the background, and her heart swelled ever so slightly. If she was going to be here, she was going to have the most exciting of adventures—she just knew it. And whether she had to make those things happen or wait for some sort of romantic thing to happen to her, Grace was patient. And she knew what she wanted.

May I humbly request more Sader posting 😼😼
this has been sitting in my inbox for so long sorry!! have some sader family headcanons.
the sader line is all-male (as in canon), and their Seers rarely go to the School for Good and Evil -> stemming from the neutral position that most Seers tend to hold, in the grand scheme of things. august is an exception because his duty/knowledge of the future involves stopping Evil, in particular.
august's father, constantin sader, is the head of the sader family, as the oldest child in a generation where there were no Seers. he dies sometime in august's first years as a teacher in the School for Good, which leaves august as the head, technically (as dictated by Seer ability).
his mother's name is shiying 诗滢. (诗: poem, 滢: clear.) this does mean the sader children minus evelyn are half-chinese. she graduated from the School for Good as a Leader, and her fourth-year quest involved the history of the Woods, leading her to the saders as a subject of interest. she's killed when evelyn & august are young children.
the eldest son, january, is a painter, and he's seventeen years older than august (born when their parents were in their twenties). he's married to a man, has one son, and an adopted daughter. he's the de facto head after constantin dies, since august is at the School.
the second son, july, lives a very normal life. he tries to distance himself from the family. he's fifteen years older than august, and has two sons.
evelyn is two years older than august, and was the product of an affair that constantin had. she was raised together with august on constantin's insistence.
august is the youngest, and the miracle child of the family; they thought they wouldn't have a Seer in his generation either. he withdraws from the family once he becomes a teacher (and gets involves with rafal); not that they were very close to him anyway. his life is shut away in the School. it's his duty, after all.
family dynamics:
constantin isn't in the picture; he's a bad husband and worse father (L)
shiying is the one who raises january and july. for evelyn and august, january is more involved with them than anyone else after her death, but even then he has his own life and family. the younger two practically raise themselves in an empty home.
january and august are close in an awkward way; january taught august how to paint, as a child. they grow apart as august chooses to teach at the School for Good, and withdraws from interacting with his family.
july does not want to be there. he wants to be normal. a sader can never be normal. he takes his wife's name. he and january were close as children (before january became too busy with their siblings), and become closer again after their father's death despite july's reluctance to associate with the family.
none of the sader siblings, or shiying, ever blame evelyn for her circumstances. she resents them anyway. when she's declared as a Never, she takes it as a confirmation (an excuse?) that she doesn't belong and that they will never let her belong.
evelyn and august... august cares for his sister more than anything, he latched onto her when they were children because they were all each other had. evelyn resents him because he has everything she wants... and is still unhappy, despite it all. (i will post more about why being a Seer sucks eventually. but i bet it does)
#sge#tsfgae#school for good and evil#august sader#evelyn sader#ask#saderposting#yeah the sader brothers are all named after months#thanks for the ask!! i have a lot of fun with these

The Godolphins!
This is something you've asked me a lot, and now that @danjaley has released their new Romanov Pose Pack (and I can take screenshots again), I can finally show you the Godolphins in detail!
(Obsessed with this posepack)
Let's see who's who!
There are 4 groups signaled by letters, these are the Dowager Duchess and the families of her 3 daughters. The daughters' letters are in order of age. Let's see!
1a: The Hon. Lady Marjorie Alexandra Godolphin, Duchess of Southport.
2a: The Hon. Lord Esmond Nicholas Godolphin, XIVth Duke of Southport
3a: The Hon. Lord William III Evelyn Godolphin, XVIth Marquess of Portborough.
1b: the Hon. Lady Diana Wilhemina Stanhope (née Godolphin) Countess of Mexborough.
2b: The Hon. Lord Cecil Alexander Stanhope, XIth Earl of Mexborough
3b: The Hon. Lord Colin Saint George Stanhope, Viscount Yeoville.
1c: The Hon. Lady Elizabeth Winifred Harmsworth (née Godolphin) Marchioness of Rothermere
2c: The Hon. Lord Vere Sidney Tudor Harmsworth, Marquess of Rothermere.
3c: The Hon. Lord Vere Esmond William Harmsworth, Viscount Daylesford.
4c: The Hon. Lady Winifred Victoria Harmsworth.
D: The Hon. Lady Marjorie Millicent Godolphin (née Dallas-Yorke) Dowager Duchess of Southport (and older sister to Winifred Cavendish-Bentick [née Dallas-Yorke] Duchess of Portland)
The eldest sons of each marriage have what's called a "courtesy title", except for William, who as the eldest son of a Duke, receives his father's subsidiary title, Marquess. The son's subsidiary title is Viscount, followed by the place where their parent's ancestral home is. Lady Winifred, is just a Hon. Lady, a courtesy address only the children of the highest ranking peers (in the order of precedence) receives.
The setting is the Red Saloon at Finchwick Park, the Godolphin's ancestral home.
Pretty much every piece of clothing was masterfully converted from ts4 by @joojconverts most hairs are either from TS3, TS3 Store, @carversims or from Buckley's Disentangled Set Part 1 . The shoes are all from TS3 Store or the Supernatural pack.
The backround is decorated with Unreleased paintings and Rug, but I assure you, you'll get them eventually! Excuse the shoes sinking on the floor, There's a resizing OMSP under the rug haha. In the backround we see 3 portraits, over the mantelpiece hangs the portrait of the Godolphin sisters when bachelorettes, masterfully executed by John Singer Sargent in 1905 (the portrait is originally Sargent's Acheson sisters)
Hope you enjoy this as much as I've enjoyed making this lol.

Mr. Chang
for @novashelby
Evie Shelby meets in 1929 the strange crush Tommy Shelby was most against of: Brilliant Chang
cw: mentions of child neglect, implied abuse, refrences to Brilliant Chang's alleged murder and death
takes place in the same universe as A Tale of Two Evies
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/a529d4670d0fbaac1f52255c3587ee72/d951f3627c88f5ce-e9/s540x810/84246cd46b4862c4a6c32b332700dc54a3a398d3.jpg)
She had seen him once, before her dad saved her from her.
He was from China; came to study and sell all these fine things they could never ever have unless they stole it. He had a restaurant and a shop with his uncles and acted like a gentleman, no, a prince.
Mr. Chang had smiled at Evie as he walked past, he had one of the waiters give her a tiny cake once. She had been so hungry she had wandered away from Cindy who had left her there to go with a man and pressed her face on the window.
Cindy never found out about that; the little cake had been gone by the time she came back with enough money to eat that day and Evie forgot about it until she saw Mr. Chang again.
I’d kill to have him, but he won’t go for gutter trash like us, Cindy had said once the finely dressed Chinaman was out of earshot.
But no matter what the woman had said, Evelyn Shelby would never forget Brilliant Chang as long as she lived.
She tried to see him again once, convinced Ada to take her to his restaurant in Regent Street, and had seen the back of his head when she leaned back on her chair far enough to see inside his private room. He hadn’t seen her or so she had thought, but the sponge cake had been given as a token of appreciation to Miss. Shelby and her niece.
Then he appeared in the newspapers and Evie Shelby joined the ranks of every girl in England obsessing over the man accused of murdering Freda Kempton.
He was innocent, she truly believed he had to be. Brilliant Chang was as he had been then, smartly dressed, charming and not a hair out of place.
Evie had collected every scrap about him, traded sweets and other small things for a better picture of him from the Chinese girls in her class. Martha was as obsessed about the case as she was, and one morning Finn ratted her out to her dad.
“There is no harm in it, Tom, it’s a harmless crush.” The witch came to her defense when he looked at her treasure trove. “It’s not like Chang is a pedophile, he’s a gangster just as you are.”
“You’re not helping, love.” Tommy Shelby pinched the bridge of his nose to stave off the headache this was giving him. “But fine, keep your clippings, Evie. Just stop asking Eva to see if he will win his case for the baby’s sake.”
She was to have a brother, Charles Absalom Shelby, and this new brother of hers made Eva’s card reading difficult for some reason. Evie had managed to get her to prove why she knew Brilliant Chang would be proven innocent yesterday only for the witch to lie down after from the headache it gave her.
Evie had apologized for that; she had forgotten Eva wasn’t supposed to be doing any witch business until the baby was born.
But it’s worth it when the newspapers are abuzz with his acquittal soon after and his exploits became less public as time went on. He had moved to Limehouse and while Eva could try to take her, Evie’s father found a way to stop it every single time.
Then in 1924 when he was sentenced to fourteen months of prison and deportation soon after, Evie had by then given up any chance at seeing him ever again and ask him if he remembered when he gave her that small cake that day.
That was until she saw him waiting to be received by her father and his brothers at the Garrison.
The papers had said he died in France or China a year ago and yet here he was dressed to the nines, impeccable as ever and walking into the Garrison like he owned the pub.
It is 1929, twelve years since she first saw him. Evie is no longer the little girl struggling to stay alive under Cindy’s care, she is the eldest daughter of Thomas Shelby MP and elder sister to three siblings and a fourth one on the way. She had a mother now, a real one and nothing like the woman who gave birth to her. One who always made sure to get her any tidbits on Brilliant Chang no matter how far away the newspaper is.
Evie hadn’t seen where she was going until she had quite literally run into him at the door. The apology had turned to a stutter and nervous giggling as she came face to face with the Prince Charming she’d seen from afar when she was seven years old.
“You must be Miss. Shelby.” He dusted himself off and did not introduce himself, why would he when he faked his death?
Evie is too starstruck to confirm his words and nods with a sudden shyness. She wants to ask him if he remembers her and yet she cannot speak out of the euphoria of finally meeting him.
“I see the street urchin has blossomed into a beautiful young woman.” He says that part in a quitter tone, as if he knew how much pain remembering her fucked up childhood with Cindy caused her. “If my business with your father goes well, perhaps you will indulge me by accepting my invitation for tea and cakes at a shop near here?”
The nineteen-year-old girl never gets to answer when other residents bustle through not caring they were talking still. Maybe she will take him up on the offer, once she’s recovered the ability to talk and breath and tell her best friend who she has just met.

Satan's Halls
Welcome sinners, I am your real Ruler of Hell. The Rightful leader of Hell. This blog is ran by @pleasantspark as well. And is part of the SelfAware AU.
Information about Satan
Satan is the true ruler of Hell, as Viv going to twitter to retcon what he said in the show as false, I decided to make it canon.
Satan was not a fallen angel, he left Heaven by his own wishes. He preferred to do things his own fashion and God agreed and gave him the ability to make Hell.
Satan is Pansexual, he had a wife named Evelyn who he fathered a daughter with named Jezebel.
Satan is very strict and blunt and most of his asks are responded in bold because of this.
Satan is a no nonsense kind of guy, but is fond of the Imps in hell.
Satan hates Stolas.
Rules for interacting with Satan
Be sure to be nice to him, any stupid questions are met with snarky or outright rude responses.
Triggers (words he will actually respond to start a discussion.) are Jezebel, Eden, Heaven, Lucifer/Samael (sometimes both), Eve, Lilith, Evelyn, or even mysteriously Roo (ooo).
Please be patient, sometimes he could be insensitive for no good reason.

Oo can we know more about Buttons or Elmers families? The way you drew his baby brother is so cute!
Below the cut!
Buttons' Family:
Parents are alive and well. They get along decently with Buttons, when they see him, that is.
Buttons: Age 18.
Elanor: Sister, Age 10.
Adelaide: Sister, Age 7.
Alana: Sister, Age 7.
Alvin: Brother, 8 months.
Buttons is the oldest of 5 siblings. His parents both work night shifts so he’s responsible for making sure his sister Elanor does her schoolwork because she’s the only one in school. Make sure his twin sisters Adelaide and Alana do not destroy the house because they love chaos. And give constant attention to his baby brother Alvin who requires bottles, changing, and supervision.
As exhausting as it is to be a newsie during the day and a housekeeper at night, it does come with the benefit of having a house completely to himself after 10 pm once all his siblings are in bed.
--
Elmer's Family:
Parents are alive and well. Moved to America from Poland for more opportunities. They overlook Elmer a lot because of their large family but still expect him to help provide for them, as they do of all their working children, since funds are always tight. Neutral relationship.
Gus: Brother, Age 30.
Horace: Brother, Age 29.
Victor: Brother, Age 28.
Cherish: Sister, Age 27.
Oswald: Brother, Age 26.
Evelyn: Sister, Age 21.
Wilma: Sister, Age 20.
Felix: Brother, Age 19.
Elmer: Age 18.
Elmer is the youngest of 9 children. He only truly gets along with his eldest sister, Cherish, and has a neutral relationship with the rest.
A typical night at Elmer's Household:
Gus, Horace, and his father are all arguing in deafening Polish about Horace’s new job as a blacksmith. Their father is fighting against it, his argument being that, as Horace is the second eldest, he needed him support the family and metalwork was dangerous. What if he injured a hand? Gus, the very eldest, takes Horace’s side and yells that this is how Horace is supporting the family. What is he supposed to do, go back to inventory at the grocery store? Good paying jobs were hard to find when English was hard to speak. Elmer winces as their voices get louder. Everything is screamed and nothing is heard.
Victor is helping move firewood inside the house but the more he brings in the less space there becomes and everyone is already tripping over each other. Plus, his cigar is fogging up the place. Cherish is in the kitchen with his mother, frantically cooking dinner as too many things are boiling and burning. She is the only one who notices Elmer come in and quickly kisses him on the cheek and welcomes him home. When she asks Elmer if he could help peel some carrots for her he does because she’s his favorite sibling and he’s not afraid to admit it. She’s the only one who is nice to him. But soon the kitchen gets too crowded and Elmer is quite literally pushed out of it.
Oswald, Evelyn, Wilma, and Felix are in the bedroom, taking up the only sitting space that’s not the kitchen table. It has been about two months since Elmer has been home after five o’ clock and instead of recognizing this a positive thing, Oswald sits up and demands the two cents that Elmer once borrowed from him for papers. When Elmer tells him he doesn’t have it, Wilma scrunches her nose and says, “He has it. How else is he gonna buy papes tomorrow?” And all it takes is one hard shove in the chest from Oswald to get Elmer to surrender it. He’d have to find a way to charm Wiesel into spotting him some papes tomorrow. On the way out of the room he says hello to Felix, the next closest to him in age, but Felix just looks like he’s never seen him before and Elmer feels unwelcome.
Dinner is is a combination of watered down soup and high tensions. There are not enough chairs so Elmer eats standing in the corner along with Evelyn and Victor. Fortunately, three seats do free up mid-dinner, but it comes at the price of Horace storming outside after throwing down his napkin with Gus and his father following him out.
It’s not always like this, sometimes they all get along just fine. He loves his family, but at times they make it very hard for him to do so. Elmer’s heart aches to not feel so alone in a house too crowded to notice whether he’s there or not. Quietly, he shoves his hands in his pockets and heads back out into the frigid winter midnight, deciding he’d rather sleep at the lodging house instead.

vera lore pretty pretty please 🤲🏽🤲🏽🤲🏽
veraaaaaa my girl
i'll give you two things about her.
she is the second of six kids. her brother sidney (sid) is eldest by 1.5 years, then her, then her brother thomas (tom) is ~10 months younger than her, then her sister evelyn (eve) is a year younger than thomas, then her sister francine (but they call her amy after amelia, her middle name) is three years younger than evelyn, and lastly her brother leslie (les) is 2 years younger than amy. sid has a wife and kids, tom is a crewman on a navy battleship, and francine is a sherman tank gunner. it was a rowdy, noisy, busy childhood, but vera took zero time to adjust to the cramped quarters and complete lack of privacy in the army. in fact, it felt a bit like home.
she is an organizer/panner in an event sense. i imagine she organizes intersquadron sports, helps jack and hazel with any 25th mission parties, she helps organizes classes and performances in the stalag, and she gets it from her momma. her mom worked at town hall in the mayor's office, and vera would tag along during the summer when she couldn't go to school. her mom was a secretary and it was easy to get vera to run to so and so office and give this to him and her. by her sixth or seventh summer, you could call into mayor shields' office and get little vera transferring you to the parks department or the police station. this makes her a great bombardier as she's efficient and patient and precise. i can see her being a wedding planner or tv/movie studio producer post-war.
lore questions? pre-war? post-war? ...mid-war? i'm an open book!
#mail call#poet tag#vera west#vera. my gal. actually now post war verabenny is coming to see so clearly. there's a practical version#and there's a metropolitan retrofuturist marvelous mrs. maisel-colored tv show version

William Lygon, 7th Earl Beauchamp
William Lygon’s story is fascinating example of the homophobia and treatment gay people have had endure.
Lygon was the 7th Earl Beauchamp and a British politician who held various important posts, including Governor of New South Wales (1899 and 1901), and leader of the Liberal Party in the House of Lords (1924 and 1931).

He married Lady Lettice Grosvenor in 1876 and had 7 children (3 sons and 4 daughters). He was also a homosexual (or more probably bisexual) which was a crime under Britain’s Gross Indecency act. This was the same law that doomed Oscar Wilde and Alan Turing.
While attending Oxford, Lygon met Evelyn Waugh. He would become Waugh’s inspiration for the ill-fated Sebastian Flyte in Waugh’s novel ‘Brideshead Revisited’

In the 1920s Lygon would throw “racy” parties at Walmer, a castle he had been given. Lady Christabel Aberconway wrote in her diary of open party she attended:
“We arrived and were shown into a garden… There was the actor Ernest Thesiger, a friend of mine, nude to the waist and covered with pearls.”
Thesinger is best known for his campy performance as Dr Pretorius in “The Bride of Frankenstein” (1935).
Apparently Lygon’s sexual activity was an open secret within Britain’s upper crust. He had sexual affairs with servants, common men and other socialites (often at Madresfield Court, the Lygon family home; and at Walmer Castle when he resided).
Lygon toured Australia in 1930 with a young valet, who lived with him. The Australian Star newspaper reported:
“The most striking feature of the vice-regal ménage is the youthfulness of its members … Rosy cheeked footmen. (Each wearing) many lanyards… festoons from their broad shoulders. Lord Beauchamp deserves great credit for his taste in footmen.”
This came to the attention of Hugh Grosvenor (Duke of Westminster). He was Lygon’s brother-in-law and political rival. He hired detectives to get evidence about Lygon’s trysts.
Grosvenor was a Tory, an opposing party, and he wanted to ruin both Lygon and the Liberals. Grosvenor provided his evidence to King George V that Lygon was a homosexual. The King reportedly said,
“I thought men like that shot themselves.”
In 1931, Lygon was given an ultimatum - he must divorce his wife, resign from all offices and leave the country. Otherwise he would face public humiliation, arrest and potentially time in prison. Lygon left England immediately, first heading to Germany where he contemplated suicide. But he was talked out of it by his eldest son.
Grosvenor also showed the evidence to Lettice, Lygon wife, and Grosvenor sister. When told her husband was a bugger, Lettice misunderstood and thought he was being accused of being a bugler.
The divorce petition described Lygon as:
“A man of perverted sexual practices, [who] has committed acts of gross indecency with male servants and other male persons and has been guilty of sodomy … throughout the married life …”
Ironically Lygon’s children sided with the father and visited him often when he was out of the country. They shunned they’d mother.
Afterwards Lygon traveled, making his way to Paris, Venice, Sydney and San Francisco. But he returned to England after King George V died in 1936. His successor King George IV lifted the arrest warrant.
Lygon returned to Madresfield, his family estate in 1937. Unfortunately he was diagnosed with cancer and died in 1938.
Before his death, Grosvenor wrote Lygon saying,
"Dear Bugger-in-law, you got what you deserved. Yours, Westminster."
(Grosvenor, by the way, was a Nazi sympathizer and hated Jews, he was known for His anti-Semitic rants.)

Hour family lore I’ve forgotten to mention to yall
1. Adam also has 2 other affair children out there. There also affected by the curse
which btw is “no blood or otherwise familial person of the Hour family shall harm another blood or otherwise familial relationship. If they do they shall have their first child taken and the rest of their children will fall to terrible tragedy”.
Because there blood related to both Jackall and (original)Michael there both effected by the curse to!
2. Jackall actually has a daughter. Her name is Poppy and she’s 15-16 and definitely anomalous in some way. She doesn’t know much about her though as she gave her up to Cassandra when she was born. After all a ship could never truly love an anchor.
3. Cassandra knows how her twin is gonna die. She’s actually known how everyone is gonna die for a while. Only problem. She told TJ he was gonna die by suicide.
4. Lyn(the fairy that cursed the family) has only one member of the family as her pet. The pet is hell bent on killing the changing that replaced him. He has no idea he has siblings that depend on the changing.
5. Vio is an arch fae from Appalachia. He’s currently married to what might be a changing. He doesn’t care though. Equal power to someone of human status is all he cares about(other than his husband of course).
6. All members remotely raised near evelyn all know the fae law.
7. If nobody(Vio’s husband) dies the second eldest member of the hour family(Jackall/his younger sister) will be promoted to head of security.
8. Any form and manipulating energy is considered a form of reality bending. In that sense TJ is capable of having a witch. Not a particular strong one though.
:]
