as for tarnished headcanons? I've been working on a few as I've been playing more (near 8hours, a corruption scare and I've beaten 3 bosses lmao) and I've even got another name for him now courtesy of a friend <3

✦ from appearance alone, the rest of the chain see him as a very serious and jaded person. however, he is not. he's jaded yes but he's actually an incredibly dorky guy with an awful sense of humour. (you know what the messages are like in that game if not well [here's an example] there are even more in the comments too)

✦ however he's the most aggressive fighter, opting to forgo using a shield and instead prioritizes hyper aggressive attacks and dodging rather than blocking. choosing to die and then reawaken at a sight of grace than being cautious. usually he swaps between dual swords or a fingerseal/staff due to having some level of aptitude in incantations and sorceries

✦ speaking of sites of grace - most of the chain (besides elden and rulie and I want to include wind too) can't see them. they just see tarnished sit down and stare into space, they also aren't aware of the fact that elden can come back from death using them. this isn't something that's fun for them to learn, as he does not tell them until the aftermath

✦ He's one of the 'weirder' links, being the most similar in personality to wild. Always ready to get into trouble and to mess about doing stuff for others.

✦ Surprisingly he's part of the church of dragon communion, having consumed his first heart before defeating margit (not before facing him for the first time though, he died a lot before doing that) and he ended up with glintstone breath!! he's well aware of the risks of becoming a wrym but he's planning a way to mitigate these, he knows he doesn't have to worry till he gets the dragon eyes though.

more mundane stuff? his spell use is mostly centred around healing and glintstone, he's practical above all else when it comes to equipment, he knows basic smithing to upgrade weapons, he's a surprisingly decent cook and he's very friendly to interact with despite his more general demeanor

but that's about it for what he's got right now! I've got the dragon and Margit fight recorded if you'd like <3 well If I can find a way to convert or post webm files that is lmao (why this post got a little delayed)

As for lore - I've been fleshing out his background a bit but I'm still uncertain on a few things For certain I think It would be interesting for him to be a member of the church of dragon communion, since dragons are more worshipped by the rest of the chain and then you just have this fucker/aff who eats their hearts to gain abilities a friend of mine also suggested that he could have a second nickname of elden, in tune with the boys tending to have two nicknames or more (like wars/captain or wind/sailor) it would also match how the nicknames seem to be given!! one is what they quested for and the other is something they 'are'

as for him taking maidens? :3 I've been wanting to write a bit for him I won't lie, cause I've had the idea of him possibly being self aware too

It's been a while since I've even touched my playstation, but with my switch all but turning into a brick the last time I tried to play anything but a zelda game. Well there's no reason not to try play on something else. "Shame... booking a repair slot is a headache that I'd rather not have to deal with." That can wait though, till I have the energy to do it that is. In the meantime I've got other games that I've been neglecting. When is the last time that I played elden ring actually?
