El single es el tercero que se extrae de su próximo álbum Néo-Romance, un disco que sin duda consolidará el estatus de STRÉLISKI como una de las artistas neoclásicas femeninas de más éxito de todos los tiempos: además de más de acumular 300 millones de streams de audio y 140.000 álbumes vendidos, ha ganado múltiples premios, incluido el de Álbum instrumental del año en los Premios JUNO 2020.

Sobre el nuevo single, STRÉLISKI dice: "'BORDERS es un himno a la tolerancia. Un momento de esperanza para un mundo más unido y menos dividido". Una pieza emocionalmente impactante pero minimalista, con el poder de calar en el corazón de todo aquel que lo escuche, y que se ve reflejado en la serenidad e inquietud de la pieza y en su aire general de felicidad. También está ligado a la idea más amplia que subyace a Néo-Romance; en el proceso de composición y grabación del álbum, STRÉLISKI volvió a conectar con sus raíces europeas para acercarse a sus antepasados y a la idea del romanticismo, donde encontró la inspiración para compartir nuevas historias a través de la música.

A while back I think you reblogged a "tell me what the last band you saw live" post and I meant to send this but forgot :/ The last band I saw live before the quarantine and everything was Bastille! I was a bit tipsy and they were very dancey, it was lots of fun <3 I thought you might be interested, since you like them!

i'm a bit in a love/hate relationship with their newer stuff. i still love it, but i just kinda don't like it with all the autotune and stuff. i last saw them at the elbphilarmonie in hamburg and that was quite an expierence i will never forget.
