Wild that Eiyuden Chronicles just has this full encyclopedia of totally original fantasy fish art. Like there are so many fishing games and games with fishing mechanics out there that have codified this like canon of recognizable Japanese game fish. Yet they just decided they'd do it from scratch

Out of the three characters voiced by the same voice actor in Eiyuden Chronicle, the one with Alrond's specific voice is the one who is just highkey vibing lmao

Like, everyone else's guild missions involve important things such as collecting resources for improving our HQ and army. But this guy. This guy went "we have fishing spots and no one else is using them :( so I'm gonna go make 'I need fishing buddies' an official mission now"

So I look up a map so I can find the fishing spot for the Wheel-Eyed Bream. Just search "Eiyuden Chronicle Euchrisse Map" and wouldn't you know the first few image results are from "How to recruit Huang" guides?

Once I get him I'm teleporting home to open a few new facilities (want to begin the cooking events and definitely need fishing with trapping being just behind that).

Free Play Days – Dungeons 3, Eiyuden Chronicle: Rising and I Am Fish

I caved in an upped my pledge for Eiyuden Chronicle to the Digital Deluxe tier because I’m weak and I want that artbook and soundtrack. I wish I was rich and could drop some money on the stupidly expensive rewards, there’s a lot of really fun stuff, but alas.

They’re on the last week of their Kickstarter, so go check it out if you haven’t yet and love Suikoden or just classic jrpgs in general! There isn’t really anything quite like Suikoden, but I’d imagine Fire Emblem fans would find a lot of things to love in this series too. Big cast of playable characters who are all fleshed out and interesting, lots of heartbreaking drama and tears and pain, a big castle/town/base to run around and do fun stuff (more recent in the Fire Emblem series but this is a Suikoden staple from the first game,) large scale battles, the horrors of war, betrayal, gray morality, fishing...what more do you want, honestly.
