JóiPé and Króli - Tveir koddar (Two Pillows) - transcript/translation
Request from @haggadahhandittothem! Apologies for the delay. In this song, JóiPé and Króli deal with a bad relationship that has ended, featuring a random audio sample from a Fóstbræður sketch.
Icelandic transcript
Tveir koddar en ég er ennþá einn (á einn) Tómur magi, fullur haus, lítið breyst (lítið breyst) Tveir koddar en ég er ennþá einn (ennþá einn) Hlutir áttu að snúast en þeir snérust varla neitt (varla neitt)
Eitt vatnsglas Tveir mínus ei-n-n-nn Lyktin úr gullkassanum, hún eltir mig nú heim Eitt annað, mér þykir það leitt en göngutúr úr kastalanum heldur núna heim
Festu(?) mig upp Teldu upp á tíu Kastaðu í mig múrstein Skerðu úr mér nýrun Ertu að fara upp? Ertu einn í rauða bílnum? Þú veist hvar ég á heima Komdu að kyssa á mér eyrun Er einhver stakur? (?) Milljón ljótar hugsanir Engin af þeim virðist vera um þig (vera um þig) Aðeins færri góðar hugsanir Hver ein og einasta virðist vera beint til þín Komdu að tefla, ég skal kenna þér mannganginn Nei, ég meina, viltu halda vinasambandi Engan að sakast, það er ég sem held um stýrið En ég hata allar beygjur sem ég tek í þessu lífi

Transcription notes
Although I started transcribing this myself, I then discovered there are lyrics on Genius for this song, which Króli's verified artist account has contributed to (though I can't see which parts he contributed), and I cross-referenced with that. Unfortunately, it's JóiPé's parts that are really difficult here, and I can't be sure if Króli would have corrected his parts too or what. I can just about accept most of the Genius lyrics as correct, but even on repeated listens I really, really can't hear "Ertu nýkomin með bók til að lesa fyrir svefninn" as that; I hear something closer to "Farþegi minn gaf mér bók sem ég les fyrir svefninn", though it's still very slurred and unclear, and because that's my own best guess I kept it as that. The Genius lyrics also say "Frystu mig upp", but that doesn't really make any sense and I think it's "Festu mig upp". By all means tell me if JóiPé personally confirms the Genius lyrics for these lines, though.
The other lines I'm extremely not sure about are "Er einhver stakur/Vill einhver vera tveir og tveir", which definitely ends with "tveir og tveir" and I don't have a better guess for it but if the lyric isn't official from JóiPé or Króli I can definitely not vouch that that's it; I hear some garble that doesn't really sound like that but doesn't sound too unlike that either.
I distinctly hear "en göngutúr úr kastalanum" the first time, whereas the Genius lyrics have að there. The second and third time sound like að, though. I'm going to stick with the first one being en at least in the audio.
The dialogue at the end is sampled from a sketch from beloved Icelandic sketch comedy show Fóstbræður. More on the sketch in the translation notes.

(JÓN GNARR: I can't believe this! You just won't stop! If you keep this up you will end up in a dumpster!)
Translation notes
I have absolutely no idea what the thing with the golden box is about, or a walk from the castle now being headed home.
JóiPé's verse asks, among other things, "Are you alone in the red car?"; the person he's talking to at least there is male, since it's einn rather than ein.
If it is "Ertu nýkomin með bók til að lesa fyrir svefninn", then that line translates to "Did you just bring a book to read before bed?" Neither seems super sensible followed with "You held it and wouldn't let go."
Króli wants to teach "you" mannganginn, or literally "the man-walk" - that's what the rules of how the pieces move in chess are called in Icelandic. He also uses the verb tefla which means to play chess, whereas I don't think English has a single verb for that.
The Fóstbræður sketch at the end features a man (played by Sigurjón Kjartansson) who brings his comforter to work and asks not to be disturbed as he takes it into an office. He tells it to be good and then stages a fight with it, in which he wrestles it to the floor only to be overwhelmed and start to call for help. A second man (Jón Gnarr) comes in because he called; Sigurjón's character sheepishly says the comforter attacked him, and without missing a beat Jón Gnarr's character grabs the comforter and pushes it against the wall, scolding it like a repeat troublemaker. So while just hearing the audio or reading the transcript you might assume he's yelling at Sigurjón's character, he's actually yelling at the comforter, which gives a whole new meaning to the bit about ending up in a dumpster. No, I have no idea how this sketch relates to this song or why they chose to sample it at the end.

Vafurlogi - Í vökulli áþján
Black Metal from Reykjavík, Iceland
Vafurlogi is rooted both spiritually and literally in the early 2000s black metal movement, as the earliest songs were written nearly twenty years ago. Like the stalwarts of that era, Vafurlogi draws inspiration not only from the staunch traditionalism of the ‘90s but also from its rebellious spirit of discovery and creation.

guys guyg uys the monkie kid soundtrack would have such a stranglehold of me if they actually released it i need the soundtrack out now
like the score is an essential part of so many of the most iconic parts of the show it adds so much emotion and gravity to the scenes
and i would honestly listen to it on its own on repeat is so good sounding with the melding of different genres of music
i know nothing about how music works but i’d really like to analyze all the the leitmotifs and sounds associated with all the characters and it would be a whole lot easier if they officially released it
anyways look at this please
tldr muisc goob pls giv eitt o us aaaaaaaaaaaaaa

Aside from the account in Landnámábok, are there any other records or stories of how the early Norse settlers in Iceland viewed volcanoes or reacted to them? Or just what their general view of them was?
There are several references to volcanoes and eruptions but only a few that give insight. This scene from Kristni saga (the saga of Iceland's conversion) is pretty famous (the immediate precursor is that Christian missionaries are preaching at the Alþing; Grønlie's translation from VSNR):
Then a man came running up and said that there had been a volcanic eruption at Ölfus and it was about to engulf the homestead of Þóroddr goði. Then the heathens spoke up: 'It is no wonder that the gods are enraged by such talk.’ Then Snorri goði said: ‘What were the gods enraged by when the lava we are standing on here and now was burning?’
Landnáma mentions volcanic eruptions and lava a couple of times, the one I've talked about on here before is actually only indirectly about volcanism but is among the most interesting:
Þorvaldr holbarki var inn fjórði. Hann kom um haust eitt á Þorvarðsstaði til Smiðkels ok dvalðist þar um hríð. Þá fór hann upp til hellisins Surts ok færði þar drápu þá, er hann hafði ort um jötuninn í hellinum.
'Þorvaldr holbarki was the fourth [son of Þórðr]. He came one autumn to Þorvarðsstaðr to Smiðkell and stayed there for a while. Then he went up to the cave of Surtr and delivered the praise poem that he had written about the jötunn in the cave.'
This gives a strong impression that not only was Surtr considered, at least by Þorvaldr, a jötunn relating to volcanic activity but also to live in the cave named for him or at least be accessible via the cave, which is in fact a lava tube.
More on Surtshellir as a site of ritual activity and the connection to volcanism here: https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/abs/pii/S0305440320302363?via%3Dihub
In Bergbúa þáttr a farmer and his slave have an encounter with a huge subterranean creature; a connection to volcanism isn't made explicit in the prose but it does come up in the poem Hallmundarkviða which is part of the story. I don't know of an English translation of the poem and I'm not up to it (dróttkvæði is above my pay grade). There's a piece by Ármann Jakobsson about the þáttr but not about the poem in particular.
After conversion, volcanoes and volcanism were associated with trolls, demons, and hell. Grýla and the Yule-Lads (who are goofy fun little guys now but weren't always) are sometimes said to live at Dimmuborgir. The volcano Hekla was sometimes considered the actual literal entrance to hell by medieval Europeans.
This is actually the subject that Mathias Nordvig specialized in before becoming a YouTuber and podcaster. I can't find his dissertation online anymore but he has a few related papers on academia.edu (2).

post-research life update: hidup mau dibawa ke mana?
by the way pas lagi skripsian kemarin aku juga banyak menulis, walaupun ga sering aku upload (soalnya aku khawatir TMI lol). ternyata aku di sini udah bisa menulis dengan kata-kata “pas lagi skripsian kemarin” look how fast the night changes, hahaha, alhamdulillah.

Requested by anon! This is a song about the passage of time, and I had never heard it before but I actually like it a lot. Thanks for introducing me to it!
Icelandic transcript

Just a couple of lines I'm not quite sure of here, but I think I've got something that more or less makes sense.
English translation
It comes on and rushes past away from all that was before towards what is and carries with it the moment that passes here and there It comes around just around the time that's here and now in time Then, though the wait is long, one moment stops by and goes
Thus time ticks for years and years counting every step with you With every step I'm grateful(?) for what gives me the day I have (?) Then that brief wait departs as well and disappears into the distance I'm left sitting at the end of the meeting, bound by time
On and on, on and on On and on time waits for me
On and on, on and on time goes by Endlessly it goes
It comes on and rushes past away from all that was before towards what is and carries with it the moment that passes here and there It comes around just around the time that's here and now in time Then, though the wait is long, one moment stops by and goes
On and on, on and on On and on time waits for me
On and on, on and on Time goes by endlessly it goes
Come Gone before long Once again has arrived staring at me
Even though it never stops for long here with me all the way until old age
Young (young) I saw (I saw) rested (rested) once (once) In the (in the) middle (middle) still (still) in the same groove (groove)
Come (come) Gone (gone) before (before) long (long) Once (once) again has (again has) arrived (arrived) staring at me (staring)
On and on, on and on On and on time waits for me
On and on, on and on Time goes by endlessly it goes
(On and on) On and on time waits for me
On and on, on and on Time goes by endlessly it goes
Translation notes
The title "Tímabundinn" means "Temporary", but the compound literally means "time-bound", and my judgement of the lyrics where the title drop happens is that they're playing on that literal meaning and the narrator is referring to being bound by time more than to being temporary. Thus, I translated it as "time-bound", even though "Temporary" is the more straightforward translation.
