I'm currently having the reverse experience; I had stuff to do today bit it's suddenly nine in the evening. I have an impromptu comic sketched out in full but basically nothing else done.

hihi :D and yes I can now unfurl some things about Mercury yes yes we’re going Post- Post game here yippee!!!! After finishing reborn I was allowed to take a breather (read: collapse into brain mush) and actually reshape Mercury just a bit in the furnace. They’re still there but more reformed now :]

So I’ve been thinking about Mercury’s lifestyle lately. I’m probs never going to clean or post this clean so I’ll just put sketches I did here and what I’ve thought about.

I’ve honestly just been thinking about the contrast in her living versus her appearance in public. She’s a fucking mess living wise. She knows how to act neat, be neat, etc., but mostly when it’s for others’ eyes rather than her own. Most of the time on her free days she lies down in bed and eats microwave meals. she’s certainly rich enough to own a nice living space now, but in terms of maintaining it.,, another story.

They’re consistently busy because they’ve decided to dive into research about the New World in post-canon. This is for an ulterior motive, and rather, a suspicion. A suspicion that a certain someone had been there, because if they weren’t, Mercury would think them dead. I’m talking about their own parent here. but that’s another complicated matter to unravel when I properly formulate my thoughts.

So it’s a bit of a shocker when Mercury ends up being Lin’s guardian. This is not out of love, nor pity. Mercury outright tells Lin they need her for a reason, for their own selfishness. He rescued her because he needed her knowledge. This is a debt owed to all of the puppetry, no? under his guardianship, Mercury doesn’t offer much other than a hopefully normal life. He will not use her unless she agrees to be used, he will not hurt her, and if she rejects his guardianship he’ll just ask some questions and move on. But he leaves it up to her whether Lin accepts or not. Lin does, to his shock, and now he juggles guardianship and his research all the same.

To be clear, this isn’t rlly adoption. Mercury isn’t cut to be a parent, and they know it, because they’ve had a rlly mixed experience with their own adopted parent. But his relationship with Lin is smth I want to develop once I get a feel of how Mercury would view Lin and themself in the first place.

Also, Lin gets enrolled in school, I drew this sketch earlier thinking about it. I don’t think it would be an immediate smooth transition. Maybe someday I’ll draw more about it.

Someone on AO3 got so upset that I blocked him for comments that were devoid of constructiveness, that he wrote me a poem as a guest, thinking that I wouldn't know it was him.

I had to turn on comments only for users and I feel a little sad about it, because I liked comments some of the people how weren't registered, but the thought that I ruined his day comforts me.

Pity my husband is not my uncle, but he will be wearing cassock at least. We can't have everything, can we, ehhhhhhhhhhhhhh
