honestly I kinda like that we're facing the consequences of Drift's past actions as Deadlock in a way other than “someone wants to kill him for either defecting or for something he did as Deadlock”

also love that Drift folds immediately once Gigatron starts even mildly hurting Ratchet, gayass

“Decepticons don't slaughter their own kind for no good reason at all.” they like. Extremely do lmfAO there's an entire Justice Division that is known by literally all Cybertronians for doing exactly that but go off

gfjhdjks I will admit the humor in this miniseries is really hit or miss, but the jokes that hit are still so good, love Ratchet's attempt to escape jail by having Drift play dead and how it does not even slightly work

“You've got your own issues, I get it, don't put 'em on me.” Yeah, I bet Drift does see a lot of Deadlock in Grit, especially with how much faith he has in the Decepticon cause

Love Ratchet not taking one more second of Drift's self-sacrificing heroics. “Did kicking you out of the Autobots really have this much of an impact on you?” is a fucking excellent question to ask him. I don't think it was any kind of special attachment to the Autobot cause that made his exile hurt this much, but more just him being rejected by a community he was almost starting to finally belong in. Like if the Circle of Light had kicked him out, it would've made him just as much of a mess

I was gonna make a joke about Hellbat embarrassing Drift in front of Ratchet by bringing up something awful he did as Deadlock but it actually is really sweet how that doesn't deter Ratchet from bringing him back to the Lost Light at all. He knows damn well what Drift has done and he's already come to his own conclusion, thank you very much

I'll be honest, I have not given a single shit about Hellbat or Gigatron this whole time, but there is something about their inability to move on from the war, their choice to kill and die in battle for the sake of it, not even for any cause, just killing and dying because it's all they can do. Drift was close to falling into that same trap, flying around and defeating rogue Decepticons because fighting is all he can do, but Ratchet's presence and Wing's memory helped him finally move on and let himself start to be something else

yeah this is kinda what I mean when I say the humor is really hit or miss lmAO this was a really good moment for Drift, finally realizing his worth as a person and I really wish it wasn't met with “that's pretty stupid.” Like I get that Ratchet was just jabbing, but like. You couldn't have had him say “it's about damn time” or something??? he's been waiting for Drift to have this realization for four million years, come on lmAO

good for Grit for moving on, too. Shame he never shows up again, at least not that I remember lmfAO I know for sure he's not in MTMTE or Lost Light, maybe he showed back up in another series and I just don't remember

have you ever heard of Sanders Sides?

its a really cool & fun show made by this guy from Vine, Thomas Sanders. its a neat premise because he plays every character and they each represent an aspect of his personality (creativity, logic, morality, etc). through these different characters the episodes discuss all sorts of topics like (INHALE) identity, fitting in, anxiety, motivation, moving on, repression and intrusive thoughts--just to name a few

its a fun, hilarious series, but most importantly it was a very helpful way for me to learn about and better understand mental health in a way that actually clicked. SS helped me through a lot of rough patches and taught me really valuable life lessons, so i really think its something you oughta check out :)

plus its gay! Thomas is a gay man and the characters are him so all the characters are gay!! they all have really distinct personalities and they're all played so well i sometimes forget that they're all the same dude lol. the writing is top notch, every character is color-coded, there's an overarching story and original songs and ACCESSIBLE SUBTITLES AND okay i'm rambling i have to stop now sjksdhkfjfhd

THIS SHIT IS GAY. I’ve never read something that makes me feel like I’m reading an Inuyasha level anime but where all the characters are grown ups who make rational decisions. The twists and turns on this story got that roller coaster quality that keeps me hopeful it will get better and wondering how it can get worse for all of these people who are trapped together in a magic bubble super war. Every character is thoughtfully fleshed out and it’s hard to pick a favorite when everyone gets to have their moment, you’d think all these moving pieces would be a hinderance on story telling, but hey, it’s chess and every piece counts! Love that everyone has two hands and that means you never know who they might end up dating [except for Syl, Syl’s hands are for kicking ass and I love that for them] and that even though everyone is having a terrible time, they find reasons to push through and find hope for their future. 10/10 would recommend if you love high fantasy, if you wish there was a Naruto vibed story for adults, if you love big tiddy trans femmes and sexy powerful trans mascs and if you want a story that gives you plot AND all of your favorite characters kissing each other for literally a billion chapters. It takes like 60 chapters to make it to the war and these writers make sure every chapter endears you to their huge cast of characters before they punch you in the throat with the tragedies of war, historical erasure, betrayal and the limits of what a human psyche can endure before a person absolutely loses it and makes not one, but many terrible decisions

Small details in JATP that I ✨love✨ Willex scene edition

People liked my Unsaid Emily details post so I’m back for part 2, this time using only scenes featuring my favourite ghost boyfriends.

Starting off we have this brilliant screenshot from the first time they meet. Not much to say about it tbh but I think it’s super cool how Dave Hoge is the producer of the show and they found a way to include his name in such a creative way. It took me way too long to figure out that this wasn’t just a random name that they threw in there. 

Next we have this. I’m fairly sure that those posters in the back are promoting the names of bands that Sunset Curve could’ve been (as in they were the draft names). It’s also hilarious to me that the band posters we see in this scene and in any other present day scene are the same bands that were being promoted at the orpheum in 1995. They thought we wouldn’t notice HA. Perhaps my favourite thing about this image however is the fact that Dog Costume man can be seen verryyyy slowly walking into the shot the entire time. Give that man a raise honestly he deserves an oscar for this performance. The bus numbers might mean something but I don’t live in Hollywood or know anything about buses so idk what. 

Next we have this!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Rainbow bracelet!!!!!!!!!!! AAAAAAAA I love. Don’t think about Alex nervously going into a store by himself in 1994 to buy this. Don’t think about him checking over his shoulder constantly to make sure nobody saw him buy it. Don’t think about him only wearing it when he’s alone at home and looking at himself crying in the mirror, trying desperately to accept himself. Absolutely don’t think about him eventually being proud enough to wear it around the boys, but before coming home having to take it off and shove it in his pocket, along with putting the small cross back on his chain. :)

Also peep that solid black ring. I’m not saying ace! alex but 👀we already know Willie has the Gay™️ earring so it wouldn’t be too far of a stretch to assume the costume design is trying to say something. It’s on the right hand too, which after some research is apparently the one that means asexual. I’m not ace however so if this is completely wrong someone please come and yell at me. 

[EDIT AFTER POSTING: Fifi pointed out to me that an ace ring is typically worn on the middle finger of the right hand, while Alex wears his on his index finger. Because of this please ignore everything I just said.]

Skateboard!!!! Pretty much all of the ideas in this bit are from @funsizearsonist​ so go follow them k? Firstly, it would not be far fetched to assume that Willie is an artist. He really strikes me as a guy who’d be into street art and who sometimes leaves graffiti in places just because he knows he can never be caught. Willie is creative, and probably designed his skateboard himself. That’s why he was so concerned that Alex dinged it. The design seen here is a flaming sword, which actually fits him perfectly. A flaming sword in literature and mythology typically means that whoever is holding it is a protector or guardian, with the fire representing supernatural abilities. That’s Willie!! In season 1 while he is the one that brings them to Caleb, he is also the one that tries to save them from being jolted out of existence. If it weren’t for him, the boys would be gone forever. On top of this, I really believe that next season Willie is going to play a much bigger part in the battle against Caleb. We’ve seen him use his powers already on the cops, but he 100% can do so much more that we haven’t seen yet. He’s going to be the boys’ saviour I’m telling ya.

Nothing to say about this except look at the pictures on the walls. Caleb knows he’s an icon and I love it.

ehehehehehe this one makes my heart go weeeeeee. Very hard to see, but Willie has his arm around Alex’s shoulders. If you missed my post I did a while ago, Willie touches Alex 14 whole times during this single song. If that isn’t love idk what is.

Ok, this one isn’t so much about the screenshot as it is about what’s happening in the scene. If you’ve always found it weird how they were walking around while talking instead of just sitting down to have a conversation, you aren’t the only one. But the truth hurts. Willie is making the boys follow him to talk because he knows that Caleb is tracking him. By being with them, he’s putting them all in danger, but it’s a risk he’s willing to take for Alex. Willie can’t stay in one place for long, because if he does Caleb is going to catch him. I mean he literally says “if he even knew I was here talking to you, he would destroy me”. What I think is that Willie is only trying to protect the boys at this stage because he knows that Caleb is going to catch him no matter what. By changing locations constantly, at least he’s giving them a chance to live, even if it means he’s going to die again. 

Last screenshot and you know I couldn’t leave the hug out. Just look at them :) They’re in love :) That’s all. 

I’m just kidding I wanna talk about Willie’s bracelets. Dang flabbit does he have a lot. I like to think that he had none of these when he was alive, but has collected them over the years of being a ghost. Maybe he steals them from stores, maybe he finds them in the many strange locations that he screams at. Maybe, just maybe, each one of them represents a different friend of his who has crossed over. If that last part is the case, then in this moment Willie could already be thinking about what bracelet he can make in Alex’s honour.

Things I Liked About The Asmodeus Song

I relistened to the Asmodeus song from the Puppet History season finale a lot the past few days, so here is another one of my lists:

the song just slaps - it is just an incredibly fantastic song. which is why I’ve listened to it on repeat for days

the puppet itself. it is terrifying, I love it. i also love that Madison Girifalco (who made the puppets for this season) created it - and all the other puppets - in a way that felt coherent with Shane’s way of creating the puppets. it just seemed to fit, even if two different people made them. chef’s kiss.

I’ll make a goddamn Olympic Event out of poking that bear, and I’ll rock it so good I become the gold champion of poking bears. In a totally non-gay way, of course.”

Sighing, Izuku shakes his head and levels him with a look. A part of Denki finds it utterly dreamy and imagines that look played back at him on the day of their honeymoon in the Swiss Alps. He purses his lips and sighs. “You’re gonna regret it.”

Sero steps in and slaps the electric blond boy on the back with a wide grin. “You just don’t want us to poke the bear because the bear happens to be 6 feet tall, spiky blonde, and very smooth on you when he’s pissed. You’re a coward, Midoriya.”

The freckled teen squawks and looks away.

for fanfic writers i admire edema--ruh and warschach a lot even tho they are wildly different. edema is extremely good imo at pacing and building tension, ESPECIALLY during high emotion arguments and angsty self-sacrifice scenes. warschach on the other hand has EXCELLENT cadence and humor and i love the way they write banter.

When Goro reached the interrogation room, he knew something wasn’t right.

The first indication was the guard who was looking at him in shock that quickly turned to fury. The second was when the guard opened his mouth and demanded, “Who are you, imposter?!”

“Imposter?” Goro raised an eyebrow and smiled pleasantly, “Why would you ask me such a question?”

The guard scoffed, “Why wouldn’t I? Akechi Goro just entered the room to do his own interrogation.”

“I assure you.” Goro’s smile turned just this side of sharp to give the guard pause, “I haven’t entered the room, which means the one who has, is probably the actual imposter.”

Through the power of sheer hidden murderous intent, the guard conceded to Goro and gestured to the room, “Fine. Have at it.”

“Oh, but I can’t possibly get into the interrogation room alone with a dangerous criminal like the leader of the Phantom Thieves, and an imposter using my own identity, both waiting on the other side of this door. Could you accompany me?”

The guard grumbled, “Fine.” The guard opened the door and stepped in, Goro flowing behind him.

The guard paused and Goro paused as well, peering into the room and receiving the shock of his life.

The Akechi Goro imposter did his job too well; it looked like Goro was looking into a clone of his.

But besides that.

His clone separated hastily from Kurusu, blushing furiously and hurrying to button up his opened shirt and attempt to hide the hickies littering his chest and neck.

It was too late; Goro had seen them.

Kurusu blinked at Goro and the guard innocently, face bruised from the beating the interrogators probably gave him in order to make him spill. Goro wasn’t deceived in the slightest.

“What,” The guard started, “Is going on here?”

Goro would like the answer to that question himself.

(His hand itched for a gun- there was a horrible fake wearing his face and Goro wasn’t going to rest until the fake dropped dead.)
