They'd been...rivaling, for lack of better word, for a while now. All in the privacy of a school that didn't care, of course, but now...

Well, Chara was here, with luggage, playing nice for the adults. the foster daughter for PR reasons. A sickly sweet smile on their face, cheeks even rosy with blush- was that makeup, or natural?

"Thank you for bringing me to your home! It's nice to meet you." and to the twins, with various levels of sincerity, "I like having some familiar faces! it's nice that i got to meet you both at school first." well, clearly meant it for Teddy, at least, but for Frisk... was Chara lieing? it was hard to tell. what a pokerface they held.

This sister wouldn't be here for long, anyways.

As soon as he saw that face, he knew. He could tell. That wasn’t his real brother. It was certainly Felix- after all, he was a mirror image of himself. Same hair, same face, same almost everything. Though this Felix- this Felix was different. He carried himself different, compared to his true brother, he seemed more tired, more... miserable. Not even the ghost of a smile was on his lips, and he didn’t exactly seem... friendly.

Ted slowly approached the other Felix, his hands pulled to his chest meekly. He gave shy smile, waving at the boy. He was a little nervous about speaking, after all, this intimidating Felix didn’t seem to be as nice as his true brother. He didn’t see any other option, for he didn’t have any other solid form of communication with him.

“ ... You’re not... my brother... are you? “ Ted choked out, each word coming in broken stutters, as if he struggled to simply get the words out. “ ... are you okay? You seem tired... “ He came closer, looking over the other blond in concern. He was worried for this complete stranger, of course, but still, he wanted to find his real brother. “ Um... have you seen anyone else that looks like us around here? “ He sputtered softly.

Political Business

one issue Frisk had noticed, even with peace between humans and monsters was prejudice lasting, that made it difficult for jobs to be found that weren’t already struggling as monster businesses. beating prejudice was difficult, so perhaps changing policy may be easier?

that was the thought process when Frisk reached out to a few ceos of some major corporations, though only a few even agreed to meet. political favor wasn't on Monster's side, so having a meeting with the head of Applesoft... Well, Frisk came prepared, and early.

not to mention the professional dress- she ignored the boots mettaton gave her in favor of simple flats that had a little flower on them, a button up blouse and a skirt, the ribbon tied around her waist as the signifying stripe to show monsters that she was a kid. plus, it looked cute and pulled the outfit together.

she was flipping through her notes as she waited... being a half hour early didn't do the nerves any favors, but there was confidence in this new venture, and determination to get something good out of it.

Actually, on second thought, sure, he’ll play this game, he walks right up to Felix, holding over 12 cartons of eggs.

“So, sure would suck if these broke and exploded all over us, huh?”

He’s hoping for a bit of murphy’s law on this one, a little devilish smirk on his face, please ignore the fact he’s wearing a dumb helmet, he can’t rely on the law not to hurt him, afterall.

"Are you busy...?" Felix poked his head through the door, nervous as he looked at his brother. It was an innocent question, but he didn't want to bother his twin, of course. ((heehoo roleswap 2 time))

Ted looked up from his desk. He was,, clearly doing something, but still, he responded with a ‘No.’, turning in his chair to face Felix. “What’s going on, Felix?” He questioned. “Better be important.”

To be more specific on what he was doing, there were papers out on his desk, as well as his laptop. Looks like he was writing something.

“You’d understand if you made some genuine friends.” Ted sighed, glancing back to Felix. “Buggs,, Means a lot to me. Not as much as you, but he’s up there.” He shrugged.

“I worry about you, Fefe..”

Ted frowned, but he nodded. He did honestly appreciate it, but he didn’t really understand why Felix wanted to do bad. “Okay..”

He shrugged and headed to gym, hugging himself as he went to find his friend. “It’ll be nice to see Buggs again…”

     Glad that his brother had stopped questioning it, Felix just settled on not thinking too much about it either. Did he have to have a reason anyway?  If he wanted to be generous enough to keep Teddy out of trouble, he could very well do so.

     He was still annoyed, but followed his brother into the gym anyway. Hearing the comment about Buggs, Felix couldn’t help frowning.  “ Ugh. Do you really have to see him?  I don’t see why you should. ”

[Survivor Ted]

Ted sat at the base of the tree that stood in front of his home, or rather, his former home. The mansion he missed, yet hated living in. The mansion that was always clean, always warm, always a good place to live, and yet...filled with so much hate. He missed living there only because it was a nice place to be physically. After days of living on his own out on the streets, planning and pacing, he missed heat and his bed and hot showers. But he couldn’t think about that.

He heard the front door open, soft footsteps leading down the front steps and onto the pathway that lead past the tree he was under. Ted sighed, grabbing the heavy stick he had found and vegan dragging it over to the form walking down he path. He saw who it was, right on time. His brother. His selfish, murderous brother. The brother he would kill.

Ted stopped behind him, raising the stick above his head, then froze as Felix turned around. He felt panic rise up to his throat, and he quickly dropped the stick out of pure fright. Maybe he could recover this. He could still win. He could still kill Felix. He internally cursed himself for panicking. How typical of someone as stupid as him. He really was a failure.

But not this time. This time, he wouldn’t fail. He opened his mouth and spoke, his voice shaking and raspy, tainted by what he had gone through.

“Hello, brother.”

Foster Huxley

   Of course Felix was aware that his family was going to be fostering a kid. Not because they cared for whatever unloved parentless urchin would be staying here, heavens no. But he was aware his parents had decided to do that. Of course Felix was told of practically everything, because he was important. Perhaps Teddy may have heard about it being discussed, but not once did it cross his mind that his brother might have known more than he did about just who would be arriving.

    Maybe he could have noticed it in the way Teddy actually seemed excited about this, somewhat. Definitely a lot more cheerful, and happy today, annoyingly enough. It was actually sort of odd how optimistic about this he was when he didn’t even know what kind of kid would be living with them. Right?

    But he didn’t particularly care enough to put much thought into how his brother was acting. Teddy was not important enough for that. …Then it appeared his fleeting questions were answered as soon as he saw Chara walk through the door. He couldn’t even bother to pretend hiding his utter disgust and shock when he saw her.  “ You? ” Was all he really said. Ugh. He felt sick.

Chara was being more diplomatic than usual, as obvious by how she gave Felix a patient smile and an innocent-sounding half-laugh- putting up an act for the adults. “yeah, I’ll admit this is the first time I’ve had foster siblings too! let alone someone from class.” there were adults in the room, the foster guardians were in the room. potential parents were in the room, she needed to put on a good face. “Who’d have thought we’d go from the same morning time to the same home?” 

In her defense, she hadn’t realized that the people who’d visited in her old foster home were the twin’s parents. seh hadn’t known exactly where she was going- but had told Ted her homes were changing, though they’d said her school was likely going to stay the same. she hadn’t connected the last names- she never did remember last names for kids. after all, kids were the equals. you call them by name, last names were for respecting adults.

however, after that diplomatic reply to felix’s aghast accusatory ‘you, she’d turned to teddy, the polite smile growing into something much more genuine. “I’m thankful for the opportunity to stay here, however!” the  hand not holding her bag raised a little, waving some fingers at Teddy. this could be really fun, living with Teddy. surely she and Felix could avoid eachother and as such avoid making any scenes... right? he was so obsessed with his image, after all.
