Lauri appreciation post: Lauri is our vocalist, frontman and creator of many many Rasmus songs and Rasmus sounds. He has always had a recognisable voice that works well with rock, that higher range, cutting through the layers of backgrounds that we like in our mixture of rhythm and harmony. We’ve known each other since 9 years olds - we discovered lot of artists through his big sister (including Smashing Pumpkins) One of Lauri’s favourite things is to visit traditional sauna 🧖‍♂️🇫🇮 🏡 It wasn’t the case always: earlier he used to passionately hate going to saunas. Emppu appreciation post: In my so-me week I’ll write a post about each band member per day, starting with Emppu Suhonen. Emppu has been playing with us for ab 2 years now, and she’s a great musician who has a big punchy gtr sound. She’s very kind, compassionate and she’s a good listener. She also loves running and is covered in tattoos. Emppu is up to date with what happens in the world: in here reading a news website. Eero appreciation post: Today I’m writing this for me. At the time when we started Rasmus, I was the youngest member of the band. This changed when Emppu joined us in 2021. I play bass, taking early influence from old James Brown, Jimi Hendrix and J.J. Cale records, appreciating the grooves. Before bass I used to play violin. We started Rasmus as a high school “hobby” band, but things turned pro pretty quickly, 1996 we already recorded and released our first full album. I love punch in the rhythmic section and funky patterns. My life-changing happening was Sahaja Yoga meditation 🧘- which has been part of my life since 1999. At that time Rasmus was going through some tumultuous times and we were lucky to find him to make our rhythm section strong. He plays a great variety of styles and tempos with ease and rocky power. Aki is a very efficient person, gets to the point quickly “let’s cut the crap” attitude. He’s also very heartful and a great companion on travels and adventures!
