Eeeeee. This made little pregnant brain go meeeeep. I kind of changed it up. I didn't want to actively kill the reader, because I can't imagine Azriel ever pulling himself back together after that. I just imagine if Azriel found someone he loved enough to have a child with, it would devastate him. So. I put a spin on it. if I squeeze my eyes shut really tight, I can create a world where he finds a mate and heals with her, but that wound would always be there, and that creates angst. So this is loosely based on the aftermath of your request. I'm sorry it isn't perfect.

The words echoed in your mind. You aren't his mother! Azriel had screamed them at you so carelessly. Just because Xiden had come to you for a booboo. Just because Xiden had called you "mommy" and Azriel had heard it. How dare you seriously think you can replace her? What the fuck is wrong with you?

You loved your mate's son. You loved that little illyrian more than you could form into words. Shock had fallen into your own bones after he called you mommy and kissed your cheek, though. That wasn't a threshold you had meant to cross. It was an unspoken line in the sand. You were not his mother, and Azriel had managed to remind you quickly and make you feel so small over one word uttered by a child.

Your relationship with the two started a few years ago. You were Nyx and Xiden's private nanny. Rhysand had met you once in a volunteer childcare center. The two of you had talked about everything you had found important in raising little ones, and the High Lord brought you to his mate instantly. They had been looking for childcare whose values aligned with theirs for weeks, and Feyre, with tears of relief in her eyes, hired you on the spot and made a pay offer you would have been stupid to turn down.

You spent time with the two young boys constantly. You three would spend countless hours giggling. Your life ranged from cooking with them, playing with them, snuggling them, and doing basic school lessons with them, but mostly teaching them how to be good fae, teaching them right from wrong, showing them how to love and respect themselves and others.

Nyx was wonderful. You adored the little heir. But there was something about the way Xiden would hold your hand when you three would go for walks, the way he constantly searched for your approval. You can't remember if it was the first night he ran to your guest room on an extended care stay and buried himself so deep into your arms and pillows that made you love him, or if it was the solstice gift he drew of you, him, and Nyx that hung framed in your living room that sealed the deal, but you loved Xiden. Unconditionally and unexpectedly.

You had finally asked Feyre one night about his mother when she came over to bring you a birthday gift from the Inner Circle and the boys. Azriel had appeared after she told you gently Xiden's mother had died. He had the little male in tow. He had his wings tucked in so tight around him and his little footie pajamas and that made your heart tighten as he ran to you. 

The bond snapped for Azriel as you were kneeled down, holding his son and comforting him. It snapped for you when you woke up to the male shirtless in your kitchen, making breakfast for the three of you after Xiden refused to leave.

There was no going back after that. Xiden had a room at your apartment now. You had things in their home. You and Azriel told each other everything. Well, almost everything. He still had not told you about his former love or where she was.  Xiden had done it late one night after another screaming fit woke him up and had him crawling into bed with you.

I watched momma die, you had tried to tell him it was just a bad dream. But when his eyes met yours and he shook his little head, you shattered into pieces. I watched it, miss y/n. I watched them hurt momma.

You had approached Azriel about it gently, holding his hand as he closed you out. You didn't push the issue at all, knowing he'd tell you when he was ready to. You had, however, pushed for him to enroll Xiden into therapy with Madja.

That was almost 8 months ago now, though. Tonight had been the breaking point. It stung, knowing the male you adored had all but dismissed his son's feelings, and your own, without giving you a single explanation of why. You had left his home in silence despite him calling for you. You had shielded yourself for the time and sealed the bond so deeply into your heart that you couldn't feel him, and he couldn't feel you. 

You curled deeper into the bed, holding your blanket tight against yourself as you cried. You had no interest in replacing Xiden's mom. You never set that as a goal in this relationship. You just wanted to love Azriel, love his son. You wanted to support them, be there for them. 

A loud knock came at your door, and you ignored it. Then another, more insistent than the next, and finally, your door just opened. You knew it was him, that he had picked the lock. He made his way to your bedroom, opening the door without knocking and moving to sit on the bed next to you. 

"I'm sorry, y/n," his hand found your hip as he tried to get your attention. "I lashed out, and I shouldn't have. It's just- It's hard. Knowing she should be here, but isn't."

"I never wanted to replace her, Az. I never asked to fill that role." You voice sounded as broken as you knew it would. Hours of crying finally had begun to show damage.

"I know, love. I know."

"You won't even tell me what happened to them. All I can do is offer him whatever I can based on what I know, and then i get yelled at for it. How can I comfort him, help him, and support him when I don't know the full story. How can I support YOU when I don't even know what happened?"

His jaw tightened as he looked at you. He had been avoiding this conversation for too long, and now it had come to a head. "When Xiden was 4, he and his mother were visiting her parents in Illyria without my knowledge." Azriel looked up, blinking tears away as his throat grew tight. "I had made a few enemies in the camp they went to, and they took them. It took us 3 weeks to find them and track them down. By time we got there, she was gone. Xiden was.." His jaw tightened again. "He was traumatized. He had watched them rape, beat, and torture his mother for weeks. He was starved, sleep deprived, and disassociated from us completely. I only added to that trauma by slaughtering every single male in that place without thinking about the fact that he was right there."

"He wouldn't let me touch him for weeks. He ran to Rhys and Cassian instead of me. And it killed me." Azriel was biting his lip, shadows stilled and wrapped around him as his wings also pulled in. "I will never forget her lifeless eyes, her body, her bruised face. I will never forget my son's broken mind and soul. I will never forgive myself for what happened to them."

You sat up, running a hand up and down his back and between his wings. "It wasn't your fault, Az. She wouldn't want you to blame yourself."

He broke then, sobbing out a gentle I know as he broke down. "I just don't want him to forget her, how much she loved him, how much she sacrificed for him."

"He won't," you said firmly. "He never will. He's six, Az. He remembers his momma. He knows I am not her." Azriel nodded. "Az, you need to forgive yourself. You can't move forward, and Xiden can't move forward, with this cloud hanging here." Another silent nod as he leaned further into your touch. "You need to give yourself permission to be happy, to move on, and to take care of him without being scared of the world."

"It's just so hard," you nodded this time, kissing between his shoulder blades. "I loved her so fucking much."

"I know. Her picture is still up in your office. I make sure to dust it every day. You also have some of her dresses still. A few of her blankets." His shoulders fell, guilt flooding the now empty bond. "Don't," you whispered. "Don't feel guilty for loving the mother of your child. Don't feel guilty for wanting to honor her memory." 

"Please come back." Azriel sounded broken at the confession he was about to make. "He can't sleep when you aren't there." You nodded, grabbing a bag to pack an outfit for tomorrow. 

Azriel watched you moving through the room in silence. "I wanted to talk about you moving in," you froze on the spot. "Or us finding somewhere for the 3 of us."

"Az-"

"I fucked that up, though, didn't I?" You shook your head, rushing to him and throwing yourself onto him and the bed. "Or maybe I didn't?"

"Of course I want to move in with you two." Your response was muffled into his neck. You could feel his smile grow. 

"Perfect." He said.

"Perfect." You agreed.

A hot July afternoon. You were in your garage along with Bee in his Chevy form. A gramophone was on your working desk, 70s and 80s biggest hits spinning. Bee loves old music.

You were working on his paint job.

“Bee, you need to be more careful, this is the 3rd time this week I’m repainting your bumper”

He buzzed, talking back like a kid. He made you giggle.

“Almost done. There we go!” you straightened and wiped the sweat off your forehead.

“Now let it dry.”

“Sir, yessir!” he spoke over the radio.

You left the can of yellow paint where it belongs, cleaning your hands with a rag. In the meantime Bee transformed.

“Bee! I told you to be careful!”

“I am being careful!” he sat on the floor.

He made you chuckle and shake your head. Then you got an idea.

“You know what? I know how to make your paint job look even better! Wait here.”

You ran inside, to your bedroom, grabbing your sticker album. Then you ran back to the garage, all excited.

“Tadaaa! Stickers!”

Bee buzzed in excitement, his eyes wide. He happily clapped and adjusted his sitting.

You giggled and started climbing him. It wasn’t that easy with the album in your hand.

“Woah-“ you almost lost balance. Bee flinched, having fast reflexes, ready to catch you.

“You need help there buddy?” he asked over the radio.

“Nono, I can do it alone.” you reassured him.

Bee’s optics were spinning and expanding at the sight of you. A low loving buzz hummed in his chassis, you’re too adorable. You made his spark flutter.

You managed to climb onto his shoulder, sitting there, opening your album and choosing stickers that would match his color. Bee was helping you with holding you in front of him as you wanted to decorate his whole helm. He was not taking his optics off of you.

“What’s up?” you chuckled, noticing the way he’s looking at you.

“You’re beautiful…”

“Thank you, Bee..” he made you smile and blush, “There we go!” you put yellow flowers and stickers of bees and honeycombs all over his helm.

He looked at his reflection in a mirror in the garage. He made a chuckling buzz sound as he hugged you tightly. He made you laugh as you hugged him back, giving him a smooch between the optics.

He was literally looking like this “🐝💛^^💛🐝”, buzzing like the happy bumblebee he is.

He took a sticker of a yellow flower off his helm and gently sticked it to your forehead. You both laughed.

“Oh Bee.. I love you..” you said softly while lovingly looking into his beautiful, blue orbs.

“I love you too…” he said as another low loving buzz rumbled in his chassis. He closed his optics and snuggled, gently holding you while enjoying the tenderness of your tiny hands caressing his face plate.

He slowly started cradling you from side to side to the music. Both of you enjoyed the cute little bonding time.

Dewdrop may be a hard ass but he really, really does love his pack. The newly summons are not exempt from that! Aurora is his absolute darling, Phantom is his gentle bug. He loves them like no tomorrow!!

Phantom loves worming his way into Dew and Aether's bed just to koala cling to the fire ghoul, pressed right against his neck and purring so softly. Sometimes they'll start kneading on Dew's back or chest for that extra comfort, there's been times Dew looks like he got bit by spiders all night from when Phantom would sink his nails in a bit too deep.

Constant cuddle sessions when they're able. Dew likes having Phantom against his side, so they can lay/sit up comfortably and still maintain contact.

Purrito Phantom and Dewdrop are an unstoppable duo. He's like a hot pocket and even Dew can't resist squeezing the big bundle.

Ant has tried learning fire ghoul culture to make Dew a courting gift and at first they got so heartbroken because Dew just "???" And it wasn't the reaction he was expecting. Cried about it to Swiss who calmed Phantom down and shook the life out of Dew about his failed courting attempts 😭 Phantom then learned water ghoul courts and almost drowned like TWICE just to get a little pearl for Dew. Had the biggest smile on their face like no other when Dew accepted it

Dew had a bad episode when he found one of his old pictures before his transition, just crying about how he hated himself, how ugly he felt. Phantom didn't... Really know what to do but hug him, swaying a bit back and forth.

"I don't care what you looked like before or even now. I just love you. Not what you look like. Just.. you."

Took Phantom stargazing after two weeks when he became Topside and felt safe enough to come around. Had a blanket laid out and everything, and he just couldn't help but stare and smile at Phantom's eyes practically filled with the same stars they were watching. Letting Phantom silently whisper in Ghoulish to Dew about the ones he knew. Dewdrop had been around Aether long enough to know Phantom got a few wrong, but he wasn't about to saying anything. It was cute.

When Phantom is triggered but able to find their feet, he'll get up and specifically look for Dew. He'll just hold his hand and squeeze three times, letting the fire ghoul know something wrong. If he's able, Dew will lead them somewhere private and silent, letting the quint just cling to him for comfort and cry. They feel so... So safe with Dew. Knows he won't let anything bad happen to them.

Febuwhump Day 10 - Magic Exhaustion

“Bdubs? Are you in here?” A voice came from somewhere a room over. Bdubs groaned slightly, he really wasn’t in the mood to ‘people’ at the moment. The past week the sky had been nothing but grey and dark and storming, barely any sunlight making it to the earth. The plants in his garden had begun to protest, along with the pots by the window. And it seemed, Bdubs’ own body was just as unhappy. He tried to roll over to see the doorway, but he couldn’t muster the energy.

The voice was getting closer. “Bdubs? Hello? No one’s heard from you in days.” At the tail end of that sentence, the voice became clear. “Bdubs! Are you alright?” A hand came to rest on his forehead. Bdubs tried to bat it away, but his arm didn’t leave the mattress. The voice laughed. “Have you really been asleep this whole time?” Bdubs shook his head ever so slightly.

The laughter stopped. “What happened? Are you okay?” The hand on his forehead moved to mess with the sheets. The fog in Bdubs’ mind cleared slightly, just enough to recognize the voice fussing over him.

“Eeeeee…o.” Bdubs tried to call out Etho’s name, but his voice gave up on him.

“That’s right, I’m here.” Bdubs’s hair was ruffled through. “Did you get hit in the head?”

Right, Etho was trying to help him. Bdubs didn’t get much further down that thought process. It felt like there was something he was supposed to be doing. What was it? Tell. Tell Etho what was wrong. Tell Etho how to help.

“Ssssssssssssssnnnnnnnnnnnnn.” The sound was more akin to a groan than a word. “Sssseeee uuuunnnnn.” No more than a whisper.

Etho’s hand stopped moving. “You're gonna have to speak up.”

Bdubs tried again, this time nothing came out. Again. “Sssssssss…”

“That’s it, you can do it.” Etho’s hand was moving again, comforting circles on Bdubs’ back. “Starts with an S?”

“Uuuuuunnnnnn.” Slightly louder this time, but still wobbly.

“Sun! Is that it? Sun?” Etho’s hand squeezed gently. Bdubs tried to nod, he barely moved. “I’ll be right back.” Etho’s touch left.

Bdubs just layed there, waiting, sore from those small motions he had managed. His thoughts began to fade away from him again, unfocused. There was a reason he was stuck here, what was it?

A voice came from somewhere nearby. “You can be mad at me for this later, but don’t forget I helped you.” Bdubs barely had a chance to process those words before there was a loud crunching, cracking sound. He curled in on himself as much as he could, trying to get away from the horrible noise. It kept hammering, relentless.

He managed to open his eyes slightly. Something was different. What was it? Brighter. The room was brighter than it had been before. The banging stopped. “How’s that? More?” Was the voice talking to him?

Bdubs nodded, the motion bigger and more vigorous. He could feel the energy beginning to seep into his skin and bones. The crashing started up again, every thud letting just a bit more light into the room. Bdubs stretched out, trying to soak up as much of it as he could.

The voice laughed slightly. The world came into better focus, shapes unbluring. Etho. That was the source of the voice. Bdubs slowly began to sit up, blinking hard. Etho had said something about being mad before. Why would he be mad at all this light?

“Etho! What did you do to my wall?!”

okay so . it all starts when we first meet in i-land—mind you iland works a little differently in my dr but it doesn't affect our story that much. i'm known as the "monster trainee" because i would always dominate monthly evaluations — and now, since the female and male trainees aren't evaluated together, jay (and the others) didn't really know what to expect. so when i absolutely blow everyone away with my entrance performance (i still haven't decided what it'll be cause im indecisive..) jay gets a little intimidated

meanwhile,,,, he and sunghoon perform the seventh sense and im like ???? oh so this is what they're bringing to the table. and i am ALSO intimidated but mostly because i have Issues and compare myself even more to the guys cause . yeah Why Wasn't I Born A Boy — oh i did not mean to get into That right now but anyways

so we're two people who are intimidated by each other and incredibly stubborn so that evolves into us hating each other for no legitimate reason lmao😭😭 and this goes on during the entirety of part one of iland like we CANT STANDDDD each other, we always argue about the dumbest things and even have to be seperated

and then we're selected to move onto the second part of iland alongside the six other selected members, so now we know there's a high chance we debut together and we DONT want to mess up our own chances, so we try to be civil.

for the first test in part two guess what... we get paired to do a duo performance of on by bts 😐 amazing song! less favourable partner.

but we get through it and kinda distantly realize that "hey the other isn't so bad" but yes again we are Stubborn and won't actually reconcile like normal human beings, so we kind of start ignoring each other from that point forward

UNTIL. at the end of the third performance jay got a lot of criticism so he was scared of being eliminated and taken out of the group. so, he wrote all those letters. and when i saw he was giving people letters, i didn't actually expect him to give me one, but he did.

i decided to read it while i was alone in the kitchen while everyone was asleep, and erm i started crying lol! cause jay apologized for how rude he was and all his bad behaviours and ended it with "in another life, i hope we can start over and be friends" and what do you know jay walks in while im crying into his letter...

so then we spend the rest of the night (we have a day off the next day) basically just talking and getting to know each other, properly "restarting" our relationship—and we realize we actually get along quite well when we're not off in our own worlds of assumptions

fast forward we end up debuting together and everything is fine and wonderful until i'm like Oh. i Like him which is fine and wtv cause i scripted i don't get awkward 🥸 (i realize my feelings in like january-february 2021)

then in the summer of 2021 during one of enhypen's breaks, jay and i are the only ones who stay at the dorm (a week long break) (no that's not how breaks work in this reality but i DONT CARE)

anyway we don't really interact much cause we're relaxing and wtv but then he asks if i want to order food with him, and how can i say no to free food??? so we end up eating together and then watching a movie and then Wabam something in the air happens that we kiss 😱😱

but then right as we pull apart jake comes back to the dorm 😒 so we don't really talk about it and just go to bed

and then the next day i spend it at the studio cause im Awkward and can't face jay after That but he ends up coming to my studio and we actually just work on music basically all day (we write young (og cix) which will feature on the dimension : answer album)

after we finish the song (the demo) jay kinda just goes "so... we Kissed ." and that kinda starts a conversation which leads to him confessing and then i confess to him and Yeah 😁

EEEEEE I love Idia’s bday groovy so much!!! Happy birthday to him!! But on that note, who do you think would treat him and ‘treat’ him (wink wink) the best out of your ships for him? Any notable presents or experiences?

Now that it’s been like two weeks since Idia’s birthday, and Lilia’s birthday is almost here, it’s time for me to write this reply! Sorry for being late as always… And thank you for this question! Idia’s bday groovy is wonderful, even after staring at it for this entire time I am not over it. It’s so good…

Anyways! I think everyone treated him well, wink wink~ But in all honestly, this ended up being a much more wholesome reply that I expected it to be, even though I’m ending it on a spicier note lol

Azul’s go-to is to get Idia some game, but it’s not too unique of a present, is it? Not to mention, Idia buys all the games he wants for himself anyway, so it’s difficult to pick something new for him. So I think Azul is going to end up giving him a gift of “we can play whatever you want today”, which would result in Idia setting up all the games Azul refused to play anymore… he can’t say no now… he’ll break the fucking table because of his poor luck, and Idia will laugh….truly, an amazing gift. Azul doesn’t understand why Idia is so excited to see him seething and malding.

Floyd is going to bring him a bunch of clothes! Did he go out and buy it specifically for Idia or did he just find something that he bought and forgot about? Anyways, somehow all of it suits Idia so nicely: a hoodie, a bunch of oversized tshirts, knee-long shorts, a bag, a hat and of course a pair of sneakers… Idia feels weird wearing it, but Floyd wouldn’t leave until Idia tried all of it on. I guess it doesn’t look that bad… huh…

Jade is going to bring Idia some homemade treats, and he’ll say that this is a thank you for that time when Idia gifted him a chocolate bar for his birthday… you know, when Jade saw him near the wending machine and basically bullied him into giving him candy? Yes, that one. Jade remembers <3 This is why he kindly made delicious stuff for Idia in return! It didn’t even taste weird, but… it was kind of salty, Idia expected it to be sweet…

Lilia could actually gift him a sleepover party~ for the two of them, of course. He’ll bring a lot of snacks, energy drinks and a huge pile of homemade…whatever that was (Idia couldn’t even look at it, maybe it was supposed to be a birthday cake), and they’ll spend the entire time playing all kinds of games. But they won’t just play throughout the entire night, of course Lilia will start kissing the birthday boy at some point… Idia will be tired and sore the next day…

You know what Ortho is going to get him? You know you know? >:3 He is going to bring him to an escape room! With a bunch of friends! Since I’m biased, it’s going to be Azul + the Tweels! They’ll go through several quests, and Idia would have to team up with each and every single one of them at some point! Ortho planned EVERYTHING, he is actually the quest master, but that’s a big se-cret~.

But worry not, because after Idia survives this whole ordeal, Ortho will gift him a chance to stay in his room without interacting with anyone for a whole week. He deserved it.

… in all honesty, I think all of them should gift Idia a good ol’ orgy, and cosplay characters from different games for him while doing it. Make his brains melt, make him believe like he is in some kind of messed up dating simulator. Jade, bring the mushrooms, make this hallucination more believable..!!
