Been testing a Sacred Beast/Yubel Deck on EDOPro lately and figuring out the combo lines, and this is probably one of the better endboards I've gotten to so far!
Ending Turn 1 on Yubel - The Ultimate Nightmare, S:P Little Knight, Deus Machinex, Nightmare Pain, Eternal Favorite, AND Super Poly feels a little gross, not gonna lie, haha
With the materials I had on board, I had the alternative of ending on Spirit Of Yubel and a 4-Mat Apollousa, too

All right, with permission from peeps in the Melodious Discord, I'm here to share around the fact that WE'RE COMPOSIN'!
While our endboards may not be supremely powerful, they're resistent and consistent. Ostinato, of course, is where the big boards come to play, but another effective board can be just this:
And this was simply off a Refrain + some Melodious in hand (not specific). Refrain alone means 1 less Schuberta, but usually more Handtraps such as Herald of Orange Light, which is fantastic for us, as you can search it off of Shopina!
Not only that, but these simple combos could be done also under Droll, and most of the time under the threar of Nibiru!
This is simply beautiful, coming after so long, and we are still experimenting and composing, how it should be. Pretty soon I'll make some other compositions of my own!
One thing that saddens me a bit about this is that Bloom Diva and Mozarta... Are arguably not even used. Shopina is far preferred as the Maestra of choice because her recycling effect is super good, and Bloom Diva doesn't offer that much in this day and age. Still though a nice last resort should Etoile fall with no backup. The OG aces just have to make way for their new companions, that's just hoe time works in this game.

A bit of context: I was testing out Playmaker's deck with EdoPro, with the option of the opponent having the same hand, and I had this round and I just wanted to show you guys this since this is what I fully believe would happen if this happened on the show

"No one asked for this, buuut--"
#ic: kerri aschwald#verse: yugioh#ooc: spright monsters becoming extenders for any deck? yes#can't make 'em summonable from deck like in edopro but#making them compatible with any lv/rank/link is good enough

maybe somewhat controversial opinion but my fav yugioh games are always the old school gba ones because they ran on separate logic from the mainline game
like i think if people want to play standard bread and butter yugioh they have master duel and other peripheries like edopro already but for a console game they can shake them up a bit with weird rules/campaign restrictions. for a company thats deadset on wringing out as much nostalgia from their fanbase as possible its kind of wild they dont take these risks (but hey who said konami has ever made a good decision lol)
its why i took the cross duel TOS so hard, that game had so much untapped potential as an actual console release. it literally could have been the dungeon dice monsters adjacent game

You know thinking on it, there's probably a very real argument that if it wasn't for Dueling Network allowing a ton of people to play the game for free and fuck around, Yugioh might have fucking died during the accursed Wind-Up format huh. Like Wind-Up Handloop / Inzektor / Dino Rabbit format was very hated at the time, but Dueling Network really did provide a space where you could build and test and tinker and not just go to locals once a week to get your hand ripped with no tested countermeasures. Really, it was Dueling Network which turned into Dueling Book eventually and YGOPro/EDOPro which has probably kept this game going underneath the surface. I think if it wasn't for them, Yugioh had a fair chance of crumbling several times.
Maybe, ultimately, every card game needs something like this. A free, easy to access, easy to use, simulator that just allows them to fuck around before committing. I think player engagement and player retention are maybe the most important thing for a TCG, ever.

Is there anything that makes Duel Links more appealing than EDOPro enough to justify the time and/or money spent unlocking everything?
Event Stories, Exclusive Mats, Icons and Sleeves, specialized foiling, officially supported, etc. Most of the events yes, I'm aware are just retellings of the shows, but ARC-V and VRAINS have been interesting twists.
I mostly got into it because all my friends did and I've mostly hung around on it for the sake of itself at this point. Sunken Cost etc.
Basically, Duel Links sells an experience while Edo Pro is nuts and bolts Dueling. I'd associate it with "Why do you bother with the Pokemon Video Games instead of Smogon".

Melodious and P.U.N.K. is now a thing I can make and be proud of!
Don't care if it's not super optimal, I always loved these two archetypes being together! (1 Ostinato and E-Tele required for this)
#melodious#yugioh#P.U.N.K#Edopro#Fanfic ideas go places#The two PUNKS on board are to make Amazing Dragon for even more bouncing#Still Ostinato reliant#but I'm trying to make different hands work

Eyy, quick question on EDOPRO.
How do I place replays on Playmaker's deck so I could use it for a fic later, and I managed to do an Extra Link, and I wanted to show it to everyone.

i still find edopro's lua scripts for individual ygo cards to be kind of difficult to parse because of all the abbreviations and the fact i just don't know what a lot of these are, but, there is something really beautiful to seeing a ygo card coded too...
these things take so many variables dude
