i fucking h8 when ppl act like censoring chara names on here is "4 algorithm" or so ppl "wont get in trouble" or w/e when its 2 fucking keep ur post out of a chara's search. bc if i say "kathywah sucks i h8 her n her fans" or "kathywah is SO hot id let her [censored] [censored]" (<- thts a fake name, but its 4 the Example) then my post could v well go in2 the "kathywah" search. or if i say "i h8 seeing smut fics of kathywah shes oversexualized" then it might go in2 the "kathywah smut" search bc it contains both words. so its easier 2 censor chara names 2 ensure u arent seen by ppl either bc ur post is a hot take, u jus dont wanna b seen, etc etc what hav u. "lmaoo u can uncensor words this isnt tiktok!" "what r u lol" shut the fuck up n mayb learn more abt ppl n think on their reasonings 4 doing what they do n how those reasons vary based on differing applications.
edit: better example is if u search "sub gensh!n" [uncensored, of course] then some posts will b abt ppl trying 2 build a sub dps. why? bc it has the word "sub" in there even if thts not whats meant by "sub gensh!n". see how anything can go in2 a search? even unintentionally? some ppl dont want their blog posts seen outside their followers or clogging up a search w their txt posts (tho some ppl Purposefully tag their bullshit [ramblings] w a chara tag 4 w/e reason (r they attention-seeking? idiots? Both? who knows) but thts neither here nor there)

I wasn’t going to respond at all to this, because 1. I don’t care what anyone likes, 2. I have no fandom experience with Zoi or fisheye fandoms
but then you mention HaruMichi, and that is my fandom, and I know for a fact that you don’t know much about it.
first to address the elephant in the room, TERF???? arguments?
are you telling me people were writing zoi and fisheye as trans? where???
or that the DUB was pro-Trans?
because the only reason these two character had their gender changed was for homophobic reasons the dubbing company had.
fish eye was even edited to have tits in the american dub, so he would look more cis woman, which is not very pro trans now is it? that implied that trans women need to have medically transitioned to be women, which is transphobic.
you also said that it was the fandom that made the dub unavailable legally, which ignores the actual fact which is Naoko pulled the rights for it, she made it unavailable because the dub fucked over her work. it has nothing to do with fandom.
and last and most importantly
claiming that fans are fearful of pairing harumichi with men? and I’m asking you where? because as I member of a harumichi fandom reader and writer of fanfics, for over 15 years in both ffnet and ao3, who had gone and read everything available in both sites, I can assure you that 80~90% of the fics have michiru paired with a dude, nobody has bat an eyelash about it, even though Michiru is a confirmed lesbian, she is seen still to this day as bisexual or even straight, and accidentally falling for Haruka because she thinks she’s a guy.
there is currently a dude on ffnet writing self inserts with HaruMichi dating his self inserts instead of each other, and keeps on tagging the fics as HaruMichi. where is the hate you claim that goes around?
there is only one comment on one of his fics that says “maybe dont ship lesbians with men” and that’s about it
if you consider that hate I dont know what to tell you.
in the harumichi fandom we fight everyday for them to be seen as lesbians, and you turn this into its head to call it hate against those who ship them with men? if anything it’s us who write them as lesbians who get the hate instead (I had comments on youtube videos telling me I overreact when I say they are lesbians and that they are up to interpretation, with added colourful language by the way)
this is not about pro shipping, i dont care what you ship as long as you tag it properly, but if you dare bring “straight cousins” into the harumichi tag I’m going to be furious that you are clogging my ship’s tags. you should use your dub’s names for them, and disassociate them from the lesbian harumichi instead of trying to get clout in the ship tags.
these have always been the rules of shipping, you break them you get angry responses. you cant have it both ways, writing homophobic fics, dropping them in the ship tags, and having fans praising you for it. you will most likely be deserted your fic wont have views or reviews, and if you get any it will be to ask you to untag the ship
as for the fantheories you mentioned, there is only one that is hated and it;s hated for being made by literal homophobes the one that Uranus was a prince in the past life, and thats the only reason harumichi are together in present.
to conclude,
if you like your dub so much go and watch it (im sure you can find it somewhere on the internet) there are many like-minded people you can talk about the dub with, it wont be hard to find them.
dont spin it as a pro-anti ship, especially when it comes to harumichi
I guess another reason why this anti/proship debate has spurred me to write so long about it is because so many of the big name Sailor Moon blogs proclaim to be proshippers.
Many Sailor Moon fans are acting like I am anti and that I police people's use of work. But the reality is, for the past, oh 30, years, since the franchise's inception, Internet fans have acted as fanpols in the Sailor Moon community
You see about 30 years ago, Sailor Moon aired on American and Canadian TV. Sailor Moon is an old anime. It was the story of Serena and her friends and it was awesome,
However internet fanpols wouldn't have it. They would go on campaigns to "educate" fans about Sailor Moon and how she wasn't really Serena even though she was called that in the dialogue. They went on campaigns to mock people who did not use the names found either in the Japanese language version of the anime or in the manga.
I argued then that as I argued now, that author intent is pointless, and that the character shouldn't be seen the "correct" way aside from that was portrayed in the episodes themselves, and that people should be allowed to see the characters "incorrectly." For instance, one of the characters was female, but in the Japanese version, this character was male. The argument was that because that character was assigned a gender, they had to stay that gender and that no other way of looking at the character was allowed. It was your standard TERF arguments applied against fictional characters. My argument was that it didn't matter what the gender character was assigned but how the character was displayed and there was nothing wrong with seeing this character as female.
The end result of all this fanpol interference is that they won. The Sailor Moon that actually aired on TV over 20 years is completely unavailable from a legal standpoint. It has gotten so bad that people have watched the new Sailor Moon episodes and reporting remembering seeing these episode as kids.
Now that those fans got what they wanted and not only erased decades of precedent they want to claim they are proship. Not when you harassed fan artists who dared give Neptune or Uranus male love interests, when you laughed at fan theories, and most importantly, you made fans of the actual Sailor Moon they watched on TV feel unwelcome because they didn't like Sailor Moon the "correct" way.
