Prompt Two: Posters
My poster is focused on the 5 important elements that make a story. This poster is designed for a younger year level, of grades 1-2, as a way to help students visually see and break down this process of character, setting, problem, events and solution. This poster was inspired from the website ‘Teaching with a Mountain View’ (website link provided), where each of the 5 story elements have been designed as puzzle pieces. On my poster, in response to the definition to each of the 5 elements featured on the train carriage, the teacher uses the cloud of smoke above each of the carriages to write about the chosen book. The example book I used was Stuck, by Oliver Jeffers.

Prompt 2: literacy poster
I selected this poster, as I believe the ability to ask a good question is highly important. As a primary teacher, every class I have will see a poster similar to this, although the criteria will change slightly depending on the age of the students I am teaching. I have seen many students struggle to successfully question, in literacy, mathematics, and even the school yard. Subsequently, these students could also struggle with comprehension. How can you identify facets of a text, for example, if you cannot think of questions to ask yourself whilst reading?
