Keep walking past the Ichiran branch at Dotonbori branch and was constantly discouraged by the long queue. Imagine my elated excitement when almost by accident (we were heading to the previous branch) when we saw this other branch somewhere in one of the shopping streets - Sennichimae - and Ichiran that had almost minimal queue. Was it worth the wait? Well, when you don’t have to wait that long, the verdict was simple. I could eat ramen every day. And I’ve been craving for it every day since. Namba > Tanimachi

Walked from Namba station through Ebisubashisuji to my accomodation instead of taking the subway like a normal person. Unfortunately it was uphill all the way with a big suitcase in uneven ground and no footpaths, but I’m grateful for the exercise 💪😊

I can already feel that the atmosphere is more relaxed than Tokyo. It’s very pleasant to walk around. Like Kyoto without the historical elements.

Off to raid Okashi no Depart Yoshiya (which I’m hoping is like Okashi no Machiya), Super Tamade (24h discount supermarket!), and 7-11. Expect food posts.

Dotonbori, and Namba area by extension, can be highly touristy but I still came back here almost daily. Beyond the food, attractions, shopping and people-watching, I felt like it is a highly concentrate smorgasbord of experiences. There are just enough random nooks to explore for the entire day.
