I love to work on the more typical “assessment based” pre-school skills through nature play whenever I can both with my kids at work and with my own Sprouts. Here we simply used a stick and some good sized leaves to practice the fine motor skills of placing rings over a dowel, threading, and stringing. I find that working with nature items hold children’s interest much better than any store bought toy while creating calm and focus and while promoting creativity, even if it’s just in a sensory bin brought to a client’s daycare. #begoodstewards #earlyinterventionist #finemotorplay #finemotoractivity #natureplay #childdevelopment #eatlychildhooddevelopment #getoutdoors #lastchildinthewoods #1000hoursoutside #sensoryplay #sensorybin #kidsinnature #vitaminn (at Anderson, South Carolina) https://www.instagram.com/p/CBfluJWJHOa/?igshid=4qr8i8gsll89

On the weekends I try to make some time so set up activities for my work as an early interventionist that are nature play based #sensorybins, of course letting the Sprouts help out and give me inspiration. I tossed this one I filled with potting soil and other nature items in the carport after using it earlier in the week. When we opened it up today to change it out we were happy to find we had made a very successful green house. The Sprouts were very interested in exploring all the parts of of the seedlings and learning how they grow. #begoodstewards #earlyinterventionist #sensoryplay #natureplay #raisinglittlesprouts #earlychildhoodinspirations #earlychildhooddevelopment #lastchildinthewoods #outdoorscience #naturekids #optoutside #natureschool #1000hoursoutside #everykidoutdoors #vitaminn #explorenaturewithkids #natureexplorers (at Anderson, South Carolina) https://www.instagram.com/p/CBZMUkwJu1P/?igshid=1sxhykviy2ped
