I don’t have a super cohesive take on this, but I have been thinking about FCG and Ashton’s relationship, and, like. Hrm.

Ashton’s convo with Laudna where they talk about how they have to keep FCG from getting the group killed. Ashton doesn’t talk to FCG about this. Ashton has never asked FCG why they behave this way or explained any of his reasons why he thinks they should behave differently. Ashton doesn’t ask and he doesn’t explain, he just kinda feels like he has to handle FCG, like. Ashton has never gone as hard on “FCG is a person” as, say, Imogen, but they definitely believe that he’s a person. I just kinda don’t think they think FCG is their equal.

Ashton and FCG are both people who struggle to let people in. FCG outright said this to FRIDA when they were walking to Jaquoby’s, he has been so invested in figuring himself out that he hasn’t let people know him. Ashton’s been so afraid of being abandoned that he’s kept everybody at arms length, including MIlo who saved their life and has been nothing but friendly and supportive of them for years. There’s a clear affection between them, but both of their issues bar them from a genuine understanding or strong connection.

once I had a dream about a timetravel/buddy-cop/mystery story. I solved time travel in the dream and I immediately wrote it down (along w the plot) after waking up and its so funny because you can tell im trying SO hard to make it sound science-y. Anyway the concept of the story was actually interesting, or at least has something there. I really want to write it but since my brain is dumb. i have decided to make it a tntduo au. because I think buddy-cop and mystery fanfics dont exist enough
