choi in just radiates warmth. by his own admission and according to the rest of the members, he IS team mom. and honestly you don’t need them to tell you that, you can see it in everything he does. he’s cheerful and bright and is happy to play with the younger kids but he’s also just a natural caretaker. he radiates warmth. they all lean on him and depend on him and they get excited when he cooks for them... like i think every single day about the unlock episode where he spends four hours cooking for the 02s to make sure they have a hot lunch on their csat day :(

he’s an incredibly hard worker and so so talented. every single member of e’last has a lovely unique vocal tone and he’s no exception. he’s a beautiful dancer with gorgeous dance lines; he looks up to taemin a ton and it shows. he also choreographs for the group and i am always so impressed. also like. he debuted at 24. i think there’s something to be said about his tenacity and his belief in himself when so many companies/kmedia/fans will basically write a trainee off if they’re pushing twenty years old. like he went out on a limb and i’m so glad he did! he belongs onstage he’s such a joy to watch like he is such a talented performer i am so grateful to him for seeing this through and i hope that he feels like it has all been worth it.

anyway i just think. i think innie simply deserves everything that his heart could possibly desire. genuinely i just want him to be happy and feel fulfilled and i am not kidding i really believe in him so much and i hope 2022 brings opportunities for him to show the world how wonderful he is.

Choi In

Choi In would be over the world when you're affectionate. He loves the idea of you loving him so much you can't contain it, and would definitely return the affection.

You look up at the sound of the front door opening and smile at the sight of your boyfriend entering the living room. You haven't seen him since yesterday, as he was so busy with work.

"Innie!" He looks up at the sound of your voice and grins when you throw yourself at him. You plant a kiss on his cheek as you hold him close, before resting your head on his shoulder. "Missed you."

"I missed you too!" He cups your cheek and kisses your lips. You giggle and don't pull away.

"Someone's clingy today, hmm?"

You nod, holding onto him as he carefully walks the two of you to the couch without bumping you into anything.

Choi Seungyeop (Seungyeop)

He wouldn't mind. At home, he'd probably be just as affectionate and would coddle you to death, but he'd be a bit shy-er in public, wespecially if his members are around.

You hum, clinging onto Seungyeop's arm affectionately. You're waking him to the company, as it's on the way to your own work. You walk with him inside the building and stop outside of the practice room.

"Bye baby," he hums, kissing your cheek gently.

"Bye Seungie," you hum, kissing his cheek in return. As you pull away from each other, you keep hold of his hand. He smiles and blows you a kiss and squeezes your hand.

"I love you Seungie," you say, pouting, not wanting to let go of his hand. "Don't want to go."

He smiles gently, finding you so adorable. He walks over to kiss you again, when suddenly the door to the practice room and Won Hyuk looks at the two of you holding hands and being all cute.

"Aww, look at you two," Won Hyuk says. You notice Seungyeop is trying to conceal his furious blushing, and giggle a bit. He smiles at you.

Byun Yongseop (Rano)

Yongseop would find it cute if you were extremely affectionate. After a tiring day of work, he'd love to be showered in affection from you. Maybe at the start of the relationship, he'd be a bit surprised, but he would get used to it and even start enjoying it.

You see your boyfriend sitting on the couch, pouring over some paperwork he needs to fill out. He’s been extremely exhausted, staying at practice for hours and waking up early to either work out or practice some more. He's barely even spent any time with you.

You can see that he's exhausted, and walk over. You kiss he top of his head, ruffle his hair, hug him from behind the couch with your arms over his shoulders, and start kissing his cheeks.

"Hey baby, what's up?" he asks, exhaustion in his voice. "Need something?"

"No," you say. "Just wanted to hold you and give you lots of affection. You've been working so hard and you need some rest. Give it a break and come snuggle?"

He turns his head to look at you. He can see that you're staring at him with puppy-dog eyes. He hasn't given you enough attention, and he has been neglecting himself.

He smiles. "Alright. Snuggle time." He sets his paperwork aside, and takes your hands as you walk around the couch to sit down next to him. He pulls you against him and holds you, kissing the top of your head.

Baek Sunwoo (Baekgyeul)

Sunwoo would adore having you as an affectionate significant other. What's better than being with someone who always wants to express their love to you? He'd want to return the affection as well.

"Sunwoo?"

Your boyfriend of a few months looks up from his phone as you plop down onto the couch right next to him, wrap your arms around his arm and wrest your chin on his shoulder.

"Hey baby," you mumble, clinging onto him like a koala. You lift your head just a bit and plant a kiss to his cheek.

"Hi baby," he says, brow furrowed as he looks at you curiously. "What's up? Why so clingy?"

You shake your head. "I'm always like this," you mumble. "You're gonna have to get used to this."

He turns his head and kisses the tip of your nose, making you burst into giggles. "I can get used to this," he mumbles, wrapping his arm around you while resuming whatever he was doing on his phone with his other hand.

Some thoughts on various monster/Not Human concepts:

Ghosts: A very specific sort of uncanny and terrifying. How can you escape something that even death wouldn’t stop? Good for timeless or time period mixing concepts, because how long ago did they die? You can show how they died (e.g. Nature’s Girls), just their current hauntings (e.g. Infinite’s Bad), or both (e.g. Dreamcatcher’s Chase Me and Good Night).

Werewolves: Hhhnnnnnggggghhhhh, I WANT to see more concepts that really explore the potential of werewolves. Most werewolf concepts I’ve seen fall under the “fiercely protective boyfriend” category and/or use them for intentionally cheesy sort of B-movie horror, but that’s so far from the only thing you can do with the ferocity of werewolves! And that’s not even getting into the other thematic possibilities. Facing another side of yourself? Fighting or accepting some sort of transformation? There’s so much unexplored potential here! Then again, a good serious transformation scene is pretty hard to pull off, so I kind of get it. One concept I really like with hints of werewolf is Oneus’ Twilight and its concept B-side BingBing, which relies on the “hour between dog and wolf,” and carries a feeling of uncertainty. Am I being saved or doomed? What is safe? What can I trust?

Fey: I don’t think I’ve ever seen a K-pop video with an explicit fey concept, and this needs to change. They have that distinct “never was” human mystique, and while they could fall wherever you want on the sympathy/morality spectrum, I think they’d be particularly well suited to a song about trickery and danger, and a video with a kidnapping storyline. One video that dances on the edge of a “kidnapped by fey” concept without ever specifying what’s going on is E’Last’s Tears of Chaos.

Zombies: So all over the place when it comes to tone. Just in the last year, you have Golden Child’s Burn It, which is a fully serious zombie apocalypse full of heart wrenching storylines about people who will never give up on each other, Sunmi’s You Can’t Sit With Us, which uses a zombie apocalypse as the backdrop for a breakup/reunion story, and Purple Kiss’s Zombie, which goes full cute horror comedy. And then a little earlier is Day6′s Zombie, which uses an individual zombie as a metaphor for depression..... You can really do whatever you want with zombies. They’re dead. They walk. They’re fun.

Vampires: I think their dual charm that makes them probably the most popular monster concept is their versatility and how easy it is to hint at them. Unlike other monsters which require a lot of setup and/or special effects, you can just throw a dark aesthetic and some blood/suspiciously bloodlike substances at a concept and call it vampire. Of course, you can make it more involved, but you don’t have to, and even then, it’s not hard to establish without looking cheesy. Fangs? Bite marks? Lots of blood? Distinctly Victorian aesthetics? Some teleportation shots? An explicit bite scene? Any of these and more could come together for a solid vampire concept. And then, the thematic versatility. They might not have quite as much mystique as fey, the timelessness of ghosts, or quite the “beast within” potential of werewolves, but they do deliver on all those qualities, so if you want to, say, like Enhypen, have one installment feature a dubiously consensual transformation in a vaguely Victorian setting and themes of facing yourself and the world, and the next installment feature a mysterious and dangerous party where the guests become prey, and themes of an inescapable temptation, vampires are the way to go.

Undefined monsters: The real winner of underappreciated versatility. I don’t see them enough, but they can represent whatever you want them to. For the best example I can think of, I don’t even think a single post could explain what exactly TXT’s Star Seekers monster forms represent, but ooooohhhhh it’s something.
