Why is Kris seemingly OK with Susie’s behavior towards them?

So Kris had a SAVE file before we came along...

And seems to think Susie's attitude towards them isn't a big deal (Or maybe even amusing/funny?), and even after all that she put them through, their behavior doesn't make sense even with Kris being an oddball. And it isn't like Kris DOESN'T have fear, they fear the bunker and back up when the dark world door is opened in Ch.1.

...has Kris seen something before using SAVEs about Susie that they take into account when interacting with her? Even with "Epic Gamer Reflexes", pulling off that trick takes practice.

Only other things I can think of is:

Kris is proud at being the weird-scary kid in class and sees Susie's bullying behavior as her challenging them for the title. They think it is fun to try and out-scary the girl that intimidates even the teacher. Like, whatever Kris said to Susie made her GTFO /real/ quick. It was Kris v. Susie that day and she blinked first. That has to be kinda satisfying, and Kris took that as a win.

OR

Kris snooping in the student files. If DR and UT are parallel stories, Toriel could very well be the acting principal in such a small school that has young elementary and HS students in one building. Kris could know from this her home life is jacked up, so knows why Susie acts the way she does, and just needs a friend.

It is highly likely with Papyrus mentioning grass (unless Papyrus is trolling and they grew up in Waterfall) both Sans and Papyrus are from Deltarune, and not native to UT. Gaster is native to UT Since the CORE was before the bros got there.

However, that doesn't mean they AREN'T Gaster. Kind of.

Kris has traits of both Chara and Frisk, making them their DR counterpart. Everyone else seems to have counterparts in DR and visa versa (Noelle, Dess, Rudy, and "Suzie"/Susie have UT counterparts. I have suspicions on who River is...)

It's possible Sans, Papyrus, and Gaster are the same boat. They are counterparts in the same way.

Papyrus is W.D. Gaster

Both Papyrus and Gaster are tall and they have some other smilarities.

I think that the machine thats at the back of Sans and Papyrus home was build by Papyrus to go back in time and became Doctor W.D. Gaster. But when Gaster fell into is creation most of it came back to the moment right after he used the machine to go back in time. But Papyrus didn't come back whole, a part of him went into the void and became the mysterious man that's in the seret room in Waterfall.

i am neurodivergent, suspected autism among other things (i’m not able to seek a diagnosis rn but i plan on seeking one when i can). im also having a lot of health issues recently. i’m not sure if it’s POTS, long COVID, fibromyalgia, or a combination of these things, or something different all together—either way, it’s been a pretty rough year for me. idk what’s up but it’s been a journey lol :’)

Okay actually I'm continuing it here instead of the replies.

Like @freakbullet pointed out, the blanked out part in the concept book is most likely Gaster.

However that doesn't mean in the final product they are related like that anymore.

If Papyrus, Sans, and Gaster Deltarune are related... Where is Gaster Deltarune? Wouldn't he have just "Showed up" as well? And most other people have counterparts (we've seen or heard of most of them(Dess,Noelle,and Rudy are mentioned in the alarm clock texts for UT, and assumedly C is Rudy's wife still. ), except River has no DR counterpart as of yet.), so where are Papyrus and Sans UT?

Kris seems to be both Chara and Frisk's counterpart, so two people being a counterpart to one person isn't out of the question and would explain Papyrus and Sans UT's apparent absence.

What if Sans' brother is Gaster DR?:

If Sans Deltarune's unnamed brother is Gaster DR (And he assumed a new identity as Papyrus when jumping to UT)...that would make Sans unique between the two universes which makes it feel unlikely. (I dunno maybe Sans UT died in a prank gone wrong? Doubt it though.) so I feel it rules out "Papyrus is Gaster" Theory.

Questions that have me scratching my head:

Grillby's UT and the CORE existed long before the brothers show up...Yet it's implied Grillby knows Sans' usual? What's even stranger is that Grillby...isn't a bartender in DR, as Fuku DR points out, "* ... Nah, serving drinks wouldn't really suit a fire elemental." So Grillby UT and Grillby DR are not the same guy/ don't have the same memories to KNOW Sans' usual.

And Grillby's aside, How does Sans know Alphys, and was implied to work at the lab at some point? Maybe the brothers showed up earlier than when they appeared in Snowdin and were just in Hotland/The CORE all this time?

Possible Theory:

It's also possible in UT they just "Kept" or "received" the memories from their DR selves somehow, and fused with each their counterparts after the jump. This could be what leads to Gaster UT(+DR's memories) to try and "go back" as well, and would give him motivation to try and fix things after being scattered throughout time and space, knowing what happened to DR before. (And after seeing how a eldritch being like the player could help do impossible things, thus contacted us. Gaster is hoping for a pacifist player, I'm assuming, since him and his followers don't show up at high LV)

If scientist Sans UT, (Probably Papyrus too! Man is a good engineer!) and Gaster get their DR counterpart's memories... Sans and Papyrus UTDR could have just been in Hotland all this time before popping into Snowdin after Gaster's fall, and Sans UT just knew Grillby from sometime else, so had a "usual". And maybe Papyrus has some PTSD from Gaster's fall, so hates Hotland.

In this way, it is still possible for all of them to be related, with Gaster still making the Core "before" the brothers just "Show up"

The "memory fusion" explanation also explains how a guy who runs a grocery store suddenly has doctorate level quantum physics knowledge.

Unless of course, like portrayed in Paper Trail, he's lowkey watching everyone and investigating something weird, then he'd already be educated. Probably not the same things in that comic, though if that's the case!

sorry, sans and papyrus being gaster's children/brothers wouldn't work.

sans and papyrus appeared suddenly one day, and presumably not too long a time ago. long enough to be known by the people of snowdin, but short enough for all of snowdin's current residents to have been around when they appeared, like Grillby, QC, and the Dog Brigade or whatever they're called.

alphys has been the royal scientist for some time, and there was a long period of time before that after gaster disappeared where there wasn't a royal scientist. gaster himself was also presumably royal scientist for a long time, since the CORE certainly wasn't easy to build.

all this, combined with the fact that wherever sans and papyrus used to be had green grass, means that the timelines don't match up. a long time ago, gaster was the royal scientist in the underground, and built the CORE. he then disappeared at some point after building it. then, a period of time without a royal scientist, anything from a few years to a few decades. gaster was around a long time ago, long enough that no one really cares to speak about him. the CORE is old news, and the only person whose job directly involves understanding it, Alphys, stopped herself from ranting about it to a child.

If we are assuming Gaster is good, I have a feeling it is because he is dangerous for a completely different reason. Like, he was/is messing with things he shouldn't trying to fix things.

Like potentially making The Angel during the goner sequence. The angel figure in Rudy's room also has no face. We form it's consciousness, and it can apparently hear things, has favorite flavor,etc. It's sapient. We also see that a body/vessel does not need a SOUL to make decisions and move about on it's own at the end of the chapters. What happens after it is discarded? How does it feel about that?

Thus, it ends up circling around to ending the world.

"your choices don't matter" = no matter what we or Gaster do, there is going to be a stable time loop.

What if when the river person said "beware the man who speaks in hands" they meant like. be aware of him. Since no one is. So being aware of him would make him happy.

Framing him as a threat and a dangerous being that you should fear but no actually. Hes a nice guy that no one is aware of. You seem to like making people happy. I've heard of this one guy who would love someone to know him

Why Grillby is "short" in Snowdin and Fuku is "taller"

So, one would think being colder (denser air) and more oxygen would mean a taller flame. But Grillby looks like this:

His glasses are awfully low, and his head is all squished when the top flame wooshes aside.

And fuku like this:

Her eyes are higher up. But hotland is, well, hotter and less dense. This is how pressure effects fire:

But wait, Snowdin is higher than Hotland! We fall into the dump, and the river flows downhill.

🎮 If your OC lives or would live in the modern world, would they like video games? What would be their favorite game?

Kat: Kat loves video games and loves any and every kind she can get her hands on! She just loves games and she actually does stream a lot. She plays a variety from Fire Emblem, Persona, Final Fantasy and Dragon Age to Devil May Cry to Stardew Valley and Story of Seasons. But her personal favorite is Animal Crossing New Horizons. She gets so excited over the island creation and when Happy Home Paradise came out she was constantly on stream with it. She lives and breathes ACNH.

Maddox: Mads is more a casual video game player. He likes to pick up and explore and just have a good time. He doesn't play a lot of video games that require a lot of like dedication and attention but he also likes story heavy ones. He probably really is big into Devil May Cry and Dragon Age. Especially Dragon Age. He could go on an 8 hour rant about how it's a sin that they didn't make Varric romanceable. He probably also loves Mass Effect.

Iris: She honest to God never has time for video games anymore but wants to play them. She really loves rpgs and the jrpg games meant a lot to her when she was in school. Her favorite games are actually probably Earthbound and Undertale. She also enjoys Soul Calibur bc she plays it with her siblings and it's bonding time for them.

River: River's a big time gamer and he loves it. It's his big passion in life. They also learned how to do a lot of programming from playing them and watching Seto and also casually just. You know. Fixes the final level in Pacman by reprogramming the coding to complete the lay out because they were issued a challenge by Alister to beat the original Pac-Man and River is just. Like That. His favorite game series is probably Legend of Zelda and I feel like his favorite installment is Twilight Princess.

Nana: Nana is the Cozy Gamer Supreme. She loves getting to play all sorts of indie and cozy games and bundle up with her blankets and some tea and have the best time. She does really like the Story of Seasons games a lot and Pokemon (as do all of the gang), but is probably currently playing Spiritfarer, Potion Permit, Unpacking and Beacon Pines. What Remains of Edith Finch tho is the game she could write literal essays on. Her and Yugi were big Kingdom Hearts fans too!!

Vance and Chelsea: Chelsea was at the arcades all the time and she's still the queen at Mortal Kombat. Vance likes Pac-Man.

Dahlia and Dinah: Basically on the rated e for everyone games but they do really enjoy the Sonic games!!

Mason and his side of the family ocs and Meredith I don't see being too too into video games or picking them up. Flora is still kind of getting into them.

I fully believe Mason, Chelsea, Vance, Wes, and Maddox could 100%. Kat could too, but she'd be complaining the whole time because she wants her own bed damnit.

Nana would somehow accidentally eat something poisonous. Like she is very smart but she'd probably eat something thinking that it wasn't poisonous.

Iris would if she got to live in a cottage in the woods unbothered. Otherwise no.

You couldn't pay River to do it. They would die in a heartbeat.

I feel like Meredith would stand a better chance with Roland because I feel like Roland could survive anything.

Impact: Oldest cousin, older than sans, tries not to talk too loud but slips up sometimes, so goes inbetween Upper and Lower case. Bodybuilder, helps out his dad at their family restaurant

Kefa: Middle cousin, older than Papyrus, very chill but still pretty spontaneous. Her font is Kefa but shes REALLY into graffiti fonts and general alternative stuff. Does a lot of the art for her families restaurant

Courier: classic disapproving father in-law, but works as a busboy at his son in-laws restaurant. talks in lowercase permanently. thinks changing fonts is dumb and unnecessary. does not approve of his granddaughters love of “graffiti” but still loves her

Roman: complete opposite of her father, speaks in uppercase, very enthusiastically helps out at her husband’s restaurant by way of taking care of all the plants cause its a plant themed restaurant. Would get along with Toriel, she loves snails

Savoye: incredibly passionate and only chef at his very famous restaurant in New Home. Loves his kids to bits, all that jazz

They all hate Sans and Papyrus as much as they hate them
