'The Persistence of Memory' turns 3 years old today 💿🎶
On the 12th of November, 2021, Richard released his fourth Emigrate album with the title 'The Persistence of Memory'. (The release date was initially set for November 5 but was pushed back a week.)
This album is especially significant in Richard's career and for Emigrate as a whole. It emerged as a form of dynamic, active therapy for Richard, who fell into a deep depression after the 2019 stadium tour, which left him riddled with self-doubt. He questioned whether music was still for him or if he should walk away from it altogether.
"Inside me, various wars were raging, and I felt like I had to stop making music. I couldn’t see any purpose in it anymore. It was a really hard crash landing, unlike anything I’d experienced before. There was a real emptiness inside me. Even for us, this stadium tour was something new. And when everyone tells you how great and good you are, whether it’s true or not, you feel like you’re in withdrawal once it’s over. I had to find my way back to earth."
Even before the COVID pandemic began, Richard had already retreated into a form of isolation, unaware that the pandemic would intensify this feeling. To actively combat and process these emotions, Richard delved into his musical archive, taking a journey into the past. Through various demos, song parts, and ideas he’d accumulated since Emigrate's early days, he found his spirits lifting and regained inspiration.
"My present was unpleasant, and my future was empty. So I immersed myself in my past. It was the only thing I had. I stumbled upon all these old songs and ideas and took another close look at them. They helped me move back into the present and finally look forward to the future again—a time travel back to inspiration."
The album was recorded at Sky van Hoff studios and Richard’s own Studio Engine 55 Berlin. His creative process involved reworking old lyrics, re-arranging songs, re-recording parts, and generally polishing up existing tracks.
The oldest of these songs is 'Freeze My Mind' which is 20 years old at the time of the album's release and is also Richard’s oldest song for Emigrate. He had reportedly written it with his then-wife Caron Bernstein around 2001.
“I wrote ‘Freeze My Mind’ in New York City; it must have been around 9/11. I was living in New York at the time and saw the second plane hit the tower. Watching people fall from the tower deeply affected me.”
'Bloodstained Wedding' originated in 2007 and 2011 and was inspired by his time in New York, while 'Hypothetical' previously featured on the album 'Silent So Long', was now sung by Richard himself instead of Marilyn Manson. Richard transformed 'Always on My Mind' into an epic rendition of the classic Elvis song with Till Lindemann, and he reworked 'Come Over' at the encouragement of his son, Merlin, who was enthusiastic about the song.
'I’m Still Alive' had already existed since the first Emigrate album (originally titled 'Yeah Yeah Yeah'), and the music video fittingly combines old footage from 2007 with new clips from 2021.
Richard did not shy away from serious themes on this album. 'Rage' addresses the difficulty of reentering social life after the isolation of COVID, a struggle Richard personally experienced. 'You Can’t Run Away' was written in response to numerous messages from fans expressing suicidal thoughts and sharing how much his music had helped them.
Richard mentioned that he views this album as a kind of closure for this Emigrate era: “This album might be the end of an era, the close of a chapter before something new begins.” While working on this album, he collaborated with Andrea Marino on electronic remixes, although he did not release them, hinting instead at a future electro album to explore this genre more fully.
The album artwork, depicting Richard’s head in a galaxy-like nebula, was created by Arnaud Giroux. It symbolizes the album and the creative process itself - “It’s about creating worlds and looking at things from a different perspective” as Richard describes it. The title itself was inspired by the painting by Salvador Dali with the same name.
One of Richard's announcement of his new album on his IG Profil:
The Persistence of Memory was a process that started 14 years ago. After a rough period in my life, it became clear to me that now is the right time to put it out.
The process to get to a point always interested me more than the point itself, struggling to get somewhere and constantly pushing boundaries makes me feel alive.
I AM STILL ALIVE.
"THE PERSISTENCE OF MEMORY" out this Friday.

Some additional quotes by Richard from interviews he gave around the time of the release:
Would you let your Rammstein colleagues listen to an Emigrate album before its release?
"No, definitely not. (laughs) Though someone like Flake would probably be very open to it. We have a lot of respect for each other and regularly stay in touch. For instance, I often listen to his radio show—and then call him afterward to ask what kind of weird stuff he’s been talking about again. (laughs)"
"I just realized in an interview with another magazine that every time I make an album, there’s a very dark backstory to it. It’s never that I’m just cheerfully going through life, feeling fantastic, and then think, 'Now I’ll write a new EMIGRATE album.' It always coincides with a significant change in my life."
"The funny thing was that I got the inspiration for the cover because of the song 'Always On My Mind.' When I listened to the song, I had the idea that it wasn’t actually about a relationship with a person, but rather about our planet. That’s where the cover idea came from, with the face gazing at the Earth."

This is a rewrite of an old fic!
Summary: Upon your creation you are deemed unworthy by your creator; your mother. You are sent hand in hand to face the world of Teyvat and it's challenges until it forces your brother to change forever to protect you...
Pairings: Scaramouche/Kunikuzushi x Sibling!Fem!reader - platonic!
Notes/warnings: Fem reader! Reader is said to somewhat resemble Ei! Spoilers for Scaramouche and Ei's back story, but it's changed in this story! Unhealthy family relationships and dynamics! Child abandonment! Small mentions of death (not reader or Scara!)
Kunikuzushi - as he would later be named, came into this world as a mere experiment into the making of living puppets; created by the Electro Archon Raiden Ei. Due to it being her first time creating a puppet she somewhat tested the limits of it; thus making Kunikuzushi quite different from her, but he still resembled her enough to be recognized as her kin.
She hadn't expected much from the first try, but she was still disappointed that he didn't turn out perfect or the way she had imagined him to be. He was too emotional; too human for her desired outcome. An imperfection in her eyes and thus unfit to be the holder of her Gnosis or rule Inazuma. He was quickly left behind, but not discarded.
This disappointment did not deter her, as she tried again with more knowledge and experience. This time the puppet would be designed and created with her desired outcome in mind. Thus she created you, but even you weren't what she deemed to be worthy. You resembled her like a daughter would resemble their mother and you were not as openly emotional as her first creation, but it wasn't good enough. You weren't good enough in her eyes...
What Ei seeked was a clone-like puppet void of all emotions and humanity so it's judgement or obedience couldn't be clouded by them. All so she could pull it's strings and make it dance while she hid behind the curtain; locked away in the plane of Euthymia for all eternity. Neither of you fit into these standards and thus had no place in her vision of Eternity.
So you were cast out; simply thrown away like used toy's after she finished playing with them. In her eyes this was a kindness, as she "allowed" you to live freely as humans and choose your own path. It was more akin to guilt; like she felt she owed this to you because of her failure's. Perhaps a part of her had that motherly instinct that recognized you two as her children - thus she could never kill you, but neither could she keep you. You would never know for sure..
Together you would stumble throughout the lands of Inazuma as wanderer's, endlessly seeking for something unknown as you had no destination or goal. You were like to newborns that could walk and talk, yet knew nothing of the world you lived in. What were you seeking? A home? Some meaning in life? A purpose? But if your own creator; your own mother could turn you away - what purpose could your life possibly serve?
Throughout your journey you became somewhat known as others saw you as strange and unusual due to your unique clothing and behavior; people would refer to you as the "Kabukimono Twins". Though you weren't twins in reality you never corrected them as telling humans the truth of your nature would not only be difficult, but potentially dangerous for you. "Twins" was simply easier as neither of you aged and some of your features were similiar enough to mistake you two for real twins!
Despite how careful you tried to be, your journey always ended in disaster and heartbreak. Those around you would either betray you or die; though your brother saw their death as another form of betrayal. Especially with the human boy you lived with for a time, he was sick and you all knew this; but he had promised you would be a family - together forever! He was the one who gave you your names, so his death truly changed your lives forever...
You might have not noticed it or tried not to, but all your hardships had forever changed your brother. He became colder, more suspicious and distrusting of others; he would often scare them away with his paranoia. He smiled less and the sound of his laughter became like a distant memory... It saddened you greatly, but it was what he had to do to make sure you would never be betrayed again and to keep you safe.
You were the only one to never betray him and the only constant in this miserable life you lived. He knew he could always count on you to stay by his side no matter what, but he was becoming more paranoid the longer your journey went on. He kept having nightmares of loosing you or you joining with the rest of the world in betraying him. He wouldn't let you do that to him, he couldn't...
In a twisted sense he was glad you were meek and depended on him for almost everything. It greatly lowered the chances of you being able to betray him, unless you were influenced by someone else; which he wouldn't allow to happen. You barely interacted with humans anymore and when you did it was Kunikuzushi who would do the talking for both of you. Either way your own fear of abandonment and betrayal would nake it impossible for you to even consider doing it to someone else, especially him of all people.
As he descended from his hopeful, happy and naive personality; he would come to cherish it in you. He wanted to protect this part of you at all costs, to keep it intact... You could somehow still see the world in that sweet innocent way, even after all you have been through. He couldn't afford to do so anymore or you would be put in danger and be taken advantage of, but it was a sacrifice he was more than willing to make for you.
Somewhere along the line he became obsessed with the thought of gaining the Gnosis of your creator and becoming a God; something Ei thought him to be incapable of being. He wanted to prove her and the entire world wrong! He convinced you that with the Gnosis he would have enough power to protect you from everything; so nothing could hurt you ever again. You of course trusted him wholeheartedly and agreed.
It wasn't long after the boy's death that you were taken in by the Fatui and transported far from the land of your birth to the cold land of Snezhnaya. Things changed much then as he was made the Sixth Harbinger and named Scaramouche or The Balladeer, but he would still have you call him Kunikuzushi in private. You also saw each other much less as he was busy traveling around Teyvat on the Tsaritsa's orders and you were left in the Zapolyarny Palace all alone to wait for him as he couldn't trust anyone else to look after you.
He didn't care for the Tsaritsa or his colleagues, so he wasn't opposed to defending you by any means necessary if needed. They were a nice benefit to furthering his goals of gaining his creator's Gnosis and giving you the life you were deprived of; the life you deserved. You were the light in his darkness, his only reason to go on and he wouldn't let anything take that from him. Even if it meant locking you up with only him to talk to when he was available...
He never let you see this side of him; this new him. You never met Scaramouche The Balladeer, in your eyes he would only ever be your darling brother Kunikuzushi. The Fatui along with it's Harbingers essentially hated and despised him; as he was rude and never in a good mood. He would often yell or shout for any reason and at anyone if they displeased him or simply existed in his presence when he was in a bad mood; which was more often than not. While with you he was sweet and gentle, making jokes and doing menial tasks to keep you entertained like games, art and enjoying tea with snacks.
He was a completely different person when he was with you; you brought out the last piece of Kunikuzushi he had left in him. He would only let you know of and keep this side of him alive. As soon as he left your room he would turn back into the ruthless and cruel Balladeer, but every sacrifice and ounce of blood he had to spill was worth it if it meant he could give you the life you had only ever dreamed of. It was all worth it if he could see you smile and happy while proving to your creator that she was wrong about both of you...
A/N: I've been wanting to rewrite this for a long while now! The original was fine, but I feel my current writing helps to bring out more from the story and make it more alive :D
Feel free to like, comment and or reblog! Any interaction with this post is greatly appreciated <3

Everything Everything's Mountainhead: a Track-by-Track commentary from AppleMusic
Everything Everything lead vocalist Jonathan Higgs thinks that the thread running all the way through the Manchester quartet’s catalogue is the urge to encapsulate the effect on humanity of living in this time. “That’s really what all our albums are about,” Higgs tells Apple Music. “It’s a varying degree of looking inward and outward, observing how it feels to be alive in this place in this time. This one is very much looking outward for the most part.” “This one” is Mountainhead, Everything Everything’s seventh record and another astounding leap forward from one of the UK’s most inventive bands. It mixes pulsing synths and gleaming guitar licks, euphoric electro grooves and art-rock dynamism—music where the strange and the soothing seamlessly overlap.
The album pairs a dystopian concept about a society which has built a huge mountain and its people live in the shadowed pit it has created at the bottom (a “Mountainhead” is someone who believes the mountain must continue to grow taller no matter the cost) with some of their most rhapsodic pop hooks yet. It’s all been created with the confidence that there is an audience for this sound. “It always feels like we’ve got a lot of goodwill from the last thing we did, so a lot of people are waiting for the next thing we do,” says Higgs. “I think people really liked the last record [2022’s Raw Data Feel] and this one’s better.” This is the sound of Everything Everything on the crest of a wave, confidently hitting new peaks seven albums into their career. Allow Higgs to guide you on a journey to the top of Mountainhead, track by track.
“Wild Guess”
“This was a little demo we made on tour with Foals back in 2017 or something. I put a vocal on it but it was all sung an octave up from what you hear, which was ridiculous. We happened to rediscover it and were like, ‘Remember how ridiculous this song was? Maybe it’s fine to do it now.’ There was just something about the confidence of that big fat solo beginning the record, no vocal for ages and it’s not very nicely played. It’s the same recording Alex [Robertshaw, guitarist and keyboardist] did backstage into his laptop all those years ago. It just felt like this was a good way to start a record, basically, like, ‘Fuck you. Here’s your big fat solo that sounds awful and you’re going to have to wait for your vocal.’”
“The End of the Contender”
“This is vaguely about Ronnie Pickering [ex-boxer who went viral in 2015 for a road rage incident] and people of his ilk, but it’s also about the creep of capitalism and how it’s seeping into everything. I’ve tried to put a reference to money or electricity on every song, so he talks a lot about it in that song—whoever ‘he’ is. Obviously, ‘It’s all about the Benjamins’ is quite a cheeky thing to sing in the chorus, but I don’t think I’m going to get sued for it.”
“Cold Reactor”
“This is setting out the stall of the record. It really hinges on the human element of it and the desperation of it. The ‘I haven’t left the house’ line, somebody being quite isolated and communicating through screens and emojis, felt very relatable. There’s a sad longing for connection that you can’t quite get to that runs through it and because it has this rushing feeling of everything coming to a point, it really emphasises the desperation of it. It was a question of getting the right sort of heartbreaking-versus-hopeful tone and trying to get across a lot of exposition in the verses in quite a short time. It feels like a film script in terms of its simplicity.”
“Buddy, Come Over”
“This is about cancel culture a little bit, it’s got this dark-side- and underworld-type feeling to it. There’s a line, ‘Make me a website so I can completely ruin my life’ and that made the guys laugh quite a lot. Sometimes when that happens, we’re just like, ‘Yeah, let’s go down this path.’ It fell together quite easily, it was more like a really fun one to play live, like, ‘What can we play that feels good in the moment rather than trying to get all these tracks on the go.’”
“R U Happy?”
“This is about the effect of isolation, living in cities, living now and asking the question, ‘Are you happy? Does all this stuff make you happy?’ in the simplest way I could, which is to literally say, ‘Are you happy?’ over and over again. There’s definitely a through line of being an animal and the ‘dance in a skeleton way’ line was me saying if there’s a skeleton there, you’re dead but if there’s a skeleton there, you’re alive as well, talking about being alive and trying not to be sad all the time.”
“The Mad Stone”
“This is more about the religious element to the idea [of the album]. It’s more like a spiritual song in its presentation and its content. It sounds like an argument between two or three people who really believe in this idea of the mountain and people who are very doubtful about it. The thing on top of the mountain [in the chorus] is this big mirror that reflects you over and over again into infinity—that’s the more magical element of what might be at the top of the mountain. I was trying to come up with a metaphor for an idea of something that would be an actual goal that someone might want to get to, but it’s also really obviously selfish and self-aggrandising. It took an afternoon of singing it to get the chorus right, getting it so it just didn’t sound silly—being understood and not sound like I’m mumbling.”
“TV Dog”
“This was a demo that Alex had made that he called ‘Coney Island’ and we all thought it sounded like a New York string quartet. Coupled with that title, it opened up a few little avenues on the record, some strings that appear on other songs. I had about twice as many lyrics and we were like, ‘Is this song going to develop into a bigger thing? Are we going to bring the drums in?’ and then we were like, ‘The most poignant thing you can do is just hear it for a minute and a half, a couple of good lines and then it’s gone.’ Alex went down to a cathedral and recorded loads of ambience in there and put that all over the track in the background, so you get this sense of it being in a huge space.”
“Canary”
“If some of the other songs feel like you’re on the mountain, this one’s very much in the pit, it’s being in the dark. It’s the canary in a coal mine, a warning song that just so happens to fit very well with the larger concept. It’s the darkest underbelly of the album and the imagery is the most fucked up. It feels like a warning about something bad that’s coming, which tends to be where I often find myself as a character in my songs—as a warning character. This was a big production number for Alex, I think he wanted it to be a bit Björk or something.”
“Don’t Ask Me to Beg”
“I started with layering up vocals, I was trying to make a kind of choir thing. I was listening to Massive Attack, even though they don’t really use choirs. We tried different rhythmic schemes for ages to try and get it sounding less white-boy funk and cool. It took us ages working on the drums, actually, and then trying to re-record all of those cluster vocals. I think we just gave up in the end and used the demo ones, so no one knows how to sing those parts. If we have to do it live, we’re going to struggle!”
“Enter the Mirror”
“This is about a friend of mine who was struggling and I wasn’t sure if he was going to make it through. It’s a song about singing to him as if he was gone and remembering our childhood. I haven’t really worked out what it means yet. I think I wanted to say that we’re both the same deep down, even though there’s two of us. But there’s also the mirror on top of the mountain, which might be like you find yourself if you go into it. I don’t know, I’m still a bit too close to that song to even fully say.”
“Your Money, My Summer”
“This was another demo from around the same time as ‘Wild Guess’, something that we thought was just a bit too silly to do something with back then and now, I guess we didn’t. In the past, we would have had a litany of reasons why we wouldn’t do that and now it was like, ‘This is good.’ It’s definitely the most relaxed track of ours you’ll ever find. You won’t find us playing like that anywhere else, a sort of Chili Peppers rhythm section. We would usually run a mile from that stuff but we were just like, ‘Why are we running?’ It’s an example of us being relaxed with each other.”
“Dagger’s Edge”
“This was an older demo. It always had that feeling of being a song of two halves. I think I wrote the second half and Alex wrote the first. We’d binned it because we thought it was too silly. It does sound pretty light-hearted in the first bit, but then the tone changes. I’m taking the piss out of somebody and saying a lot of ridiculous things and then suddenly just turn into this really desperate old wise man on a mountain. No other band could do that and I really believe that that’s very much our thing—a song that sounds like Dr. Dre and I’m taking the piss out of a guy, calling him those ridiculous names, and then suddenly, a harpsichord comes in and it’s turned into a really existential thing about everyone turning into bacon.”
“City Song”
“This is another one that’s got that New York strings thing going on. I wrote the demo and it was much more hip-hoppy. It’s got a hip-hop speed, but, stylistically, that’s been shed. I was trying to do like a David Byrne-style lyric, the sadness of mundanity or trying to make mundane things special. I think there was also some elements of the Mark Fisher book Capitalist Realism, where he was talking about how impersonal it can be to work for a big company where no one really knows each other. I wanted to get across that feeling of isolation, but also no one really knowing who you are and no one knowing each other, living under the lights of the city and it all being very anonymous.”
“The Witness”
“I’ve barely listened back to this because it makes me quite emotional. It was about witnessing somebody go through a weird transition, thinking that it might be a kind of religious experience. It was written on guitars but Alex swapped out the guitars for synths because it sounded like a Radiohead-type song, two guitars picking and a sad guy with a falsetto. It was just like, ‘People would like it but this is really music from 25 years ago that we could do standing on our heads.’ It’s what we were trained to do, we’re good at it, but it wasn’t pushing us in any direction. So we swapped out the guitars for synths and we made a few other weird changes.
#Everything Everything#Mountainhead#I saw someone asking about whether there's a Radiohead-ish song on this album too and choked when saw that there IS xD#Jonathan Higgs#here for Alex discovering his inner Bjork

Ei And Makoto
Eternity and Transience
Makoto, the original Electro Archon, had a beautifully nuanced understanding of eternity. For her, eternity wasn’t about halting progress or freezing moments in time. Instead, it was about nurturing the constant evolution and growth of her people. Makoto saw eternity as a living, breathing entity that thrived on change and adaptation. Her reign encouraged cultural richness, technological advancements, and personal freedom. Under Makoto, Inazuma was a land of opportunity and creativity, where people were free to explore their ambitions and dreams.
On the other hand, we have Ei, Makoto’s twin sister, whose experience of loss and trauma profoundly shaped her understanding of eternity. After losing her sister and witnessing the devastation of war, Ei sought to protect Inazuma through stasis and unchanging permanence. Her principles became rigid, manifesting in policies like the Vision Hunt Decree and the Sakoku Decree, which aimed to eliminate change and external influence. Ei’s version of eternity was about preserving the status quo, driven by a deep-seated fear of loss and instability.
The consequences of these differing principles are stark. Makoto’s flexible and forward-thinking approach allowed Inazuma to flourish, fostering an environment where innovation and personal growth were celebrated. In contrast, Ei’s fear-driven and static policies led to widespread suffering, rebellion, and cultural stagnation. The Vision Hunt Decree is a prime example of this—under Makoto, such a draconian measure would have been unthinkable, as she understood the value of individual ambition and the collective progress of her people.
What’s deeply tragic about Ei’s stance is that it’s rooted in a genuine desire to protect her nation. Her methods, however, reveal a fundamental misunderstanding of what it means to lead and nurture a society. True eternity isn’t about halting change but embracing it as a natural and necessary part of life. Ei’s journey is one of coming to terms with this realization, learning that her sister’s ideals of a dynamic, evolving eternity were the true path to lasting peace and prosperity.
In summary, the principles of Ei and Makoto are not just different; they’re diametrically opposed. Makoto’s vision of an ever-evolving eternity fostered growth and prosperity, while Ei’s static and fear-driven concept led to stagnation and unrest. The impact of these differing principles on Inazuma is profound, underscoring the importance of adaptability, compassion, and a deep understanding of what it means to lead. Ei’s struggle and eventual growth highlight the nuanced and humane truth that eternity, in its truest form, is about the embrace of change and the continuous journey of improvement.

👀 maybe yomi and martina for no. 13?
Ah now Martina gets the public disgrace from her boss too, eh? Well, we all wouldn’t put it past Yomi.
Fic below the cut.
Triggers: Public Sex, Coercion, Power Dynamics, Dubcon, Yomi being Yomi again
“Did you hear?! Vice Peacekeeper Director Martina Electro is here-!” A hotel staff member mouthed to the greeter at the Sun and Moon Hotel entrance.
The greeter immediately shoved a finger to his lips and glared daggers at the staff member. “Quiet, you imbecile! She’s right over there… and if she hears us…”
On the right side of the hotel lobby, Martina Electro sat on a cushy sofa with a novel raised in front of her face. Truth be told, she wasn’t taking in the words on the pages she had been reading at all. Her mind was lost in the rain splattering against the window beside her. After a long day of work, she couldn’t muster any sort of focus and it was all too easy to let herself be drummed into a trance by the soothing rain.
Her long hair was still drying from her journey to the hotel as she listened to the staff take notice of her. She made no indication that she heard them. They meant nothing to her unless their words about her being Director Yomi’s “girlfriend” caught her attention.
Girlfriend. Mistress. Toy.
Martina crinkled her nose at each descriptor thrown her way, but only because…she would never know what she was to Yomi Hellsmile. At the end of the day, she wouldn’t make assumptions. No. She was like everyone else underneath Yomi. Disposable after they’ve served their purpose. She wouldn’t fool herself about that…right?
She lowered her novel that she had been reading and watched the startled staff members fumble around to pretend they were working. Her gaze turned back to the rain and Martina thought about how she would spend the night if Yomi didn’t show up. Since she was already off-duty, surely there was nothing wrong with checking into the hotel for a nice, indulgent soak in a hot bath.
Lost in the fantasy of slipping into a steaming bath filled with rich, sweet bubbles to coat her skin, Martina hadn’t noticed the scarecrow-like figure towering over her from behind. That was until the back of his palm brushed her cheek, prompting her to blink and immediately set her novel down. The long fingers of
Yomi Hellsmile caught a tuft of her wet hair and tucked it smoothly behind her ear.
Martina tried to ignore the immediate tremble in her heart. “D…Director Yomi,” she remarked, bowing her head immediately.
“Did I keep you waiting?” Yomi stood there, keeping his ever present grin as his eyes sailed across her body. “Truth be told, I was here already. Sometimes…” His eyes flickered beneath the bright lighting of the lobby. He leaned close to Martina, taking her hand in his. “I just have to watch my beloved right hand. The light catches you so prettily….”
“That’s quite alright.” Warmth hit Martina’s cheeks and she took his hand. To her shock, Yomi merely jerked her forward and caught her cheek in his other hand.
“Directo—!”
“You don’t know the things I wanted to do to you while your pretty, little mind was staring off into the view of this nothing city,” Yomi whispered to her, his tongue flicking the shell of her ear. His hand groped her rear, drawing a sweet moan from her lips. Those succulent lips of hers…
And Martina was sure that her Director was not lying to her. Once she was in his grasp, she would unravel herself to him and allow him to do as he pleased. His touch was hypnotic. It wound ropes and chains around her heart and would drag her to her knees before him. She didn’t dare let out a breath of air as his gloved fingers traced up the buttons of her top. One by one, they loosened and slid aside.
“D-Director Yomi…!”
The world came rushing back. They were still in the middle of the hotel. Yomi smirked and undid the next button.
“What is it, my beloved right hand?” He took in her expression. The anxiety that etched its way upon her face did nothing but feel him with a cruel sense of glee. He owned her. He owned this city and so he could have whatever he desired.
He desired her and he desired to show her off to let the entirety of Kanai Ward know it.
The protests were hidden in Martina’s throat. Her blouse was coming off with her coat, leaving her in her bra in the bright lights of the Sun and Moon Hotel. Yomi circled around her, cupping her bountiful chest between his hands. He gave her breasts a squeeze and delighted in the squeals she gave to his treatment.
“Martina, open your eyes.”
Martina obeyed and found herself staring out the window at the full world of Kanai Ward gazing back in on her. Citizens on the street all stopped in their tracks when they saw the topless Martina Electro in the window of the hotel. She became all too aware of them. The way they pointed at her. How they turned to whisper and call to their friends. The mutters and gasps of the hotel staff and patron filled her ears. There was no escaping it. Martina could feel her own chest rising with every breath she took.
Yomi’s fingers slid down to reach her skirt. With no warning, he shoved her against the cool glass pane of the window. “Ah-!” Martina whimpered. Her body weight pressed her in at an angle.
“This is how I want you, Martina,” breathed Yomi into her ear. The sound of a zipper going down caught her attention as he pressed against her. She could feel his erection between her thighs as he yanked her skirt up over her heart-shaped ass.
“Director Yomi…I…”
“Yes. I want them all to know that the most beautiful woman in all of Kanai Ward belongs to me. Not them…”
“Ah…Ngh…”
His erection found her from behind. He jerked her black thong aside and let his cock slide up her glistening folds.
The chatter of the hotel continued. Onlookers gasped and covered their mouths.
“Director Yomi is going to—!” A woman cried, trying to cover her eyes.
“Right here in the hotel?!” Another staff member gripped his own chest.
Martina couldn’t block them out. He had her against the cool window, her breast squished out on a lewd display. Yomi grinned and pressed in, making sure her clit smeared the glass itself. His hands covered her, explored her, captured her. He cupped her breasts again, squeezing them together as he jerked his hips.
With a slick, filthy noise that rang out in Martina’s head, he was inside of her. Yomi gave her no time to resist.
“Look the citizens of Kanai Ward in the eyes as I fill you to the brim, Martina!” Yomi growled, tearing into her. His hips thrust into her, roughly building up the momentum he desired. Yomi kept her pinned to the window, her body smeared to the glass for all the world to see.
And Martina did as he said. She whimpered and cried out as those sordid slaps of sex filled the lobby of the hotel. Her eyes filled with all of the gazes of Kanai Ward’s citizen’s, their horrified and curious looks as her own face contorted into an expression of ecstasy.
Martina’s eyes were red and completely stained with tears. Her body still lubricated. It was impossible not to cling to whatever pleasure was forced upon her, climax when he demanded her to respond to him. Her eyes rolled back as if to search for a way out of this, as if to look anywhere away from the world’s frozen gaze on her body. The swell of his cock so deep within her tipped her off and soon her insides were flooded with the first helping of his seed.
Martina shuddered, her smaller form trembling beneath him. Her legs had embraced his waist to let him breed her to his desires. How potent was Yomi? Would the birth control she was taking hold? Martina had the sinking feeling that he was born with the virility needed to impregnate her the first chance he got. And even then…
“Does it hurt, Martina?”
“N-No!!! Never, Director Yomi!!”
The cry forced out of her was one of pleasure as she drowned in the pleasure he doused her with. Her fingernails scraped the window, her juices smearing the pain as his seed mixed with her orgasm.
“I love it…” Her mouth watered. Martina’s mind was assured. He could do anything he wanted to her. Yomi Hellsmile bared her to the world and raised the bars around her. She was possessed—and worse…
Martina wanted to be possessed. Or else…what was she to be?

Revolutionizing Display Technology: From CRT to UPCRT
The journey of display technology has been remarkable, transitioning from bulky Cathode Ray Tubes (CRTs) to ultra-thin, high-performance displays like the Ultra-Thin Polaritonic Cathode Ray Tube (UPCRT). Let's explore the principles, advantages, and challenges of CRTs, Field Emission Displays (FEDs), Surface-conduction Electron-emitter Displays (SEDs), and the revolutionary UPCRT.
Traditional Cathode Ray Tube (CRT): Cathode Ray Tubes (CRTs) work by using an electron gun to emit electrons. These electrons are guided by magnetic or electrostatic fields to hit phosphor-coated pixels on the screen, creating light and images. Despite offering high brightness, contrast, and excellent color accuracy along with wide viewing angles, CRTs are bulky and heavy, consume considerable power, and have resolution limitations due to the electron beam's focus.
Field Emission Display (FED): Field Emission Displays (FEDs) use a matrix of tiny field emitters that generate electrons, which then hit phosphor-coated pixels to produce light. With each pixel having its own set of emitters, FEDs are thinner and lighter than CRTs while maintaining high brightness, fast response times, and good color accuracy. However, they face challenges like manufacturing complexity, emitter longevity issues, and high production costs.
Surface-conduction Electron-emitter Display (SED): Surface-conduction Electron-emitter Displays (SEDs) utilize a matrix of surface conduction electron emitters that excite phosphor-coated pixels, similar to FEDs but with a different emission mechanism. SEDs provide high contrast and brightness, fast response times, and good color reproduction, while being thinner than CRTs and potentially more efficient than FEDs. However, manufacturing difficulties, high production costs, and reliability issues have limited their adoption.
Ultra-Thin Polaritonic Cathode Ray Tube (UPCRT): The Ultra-Thin Polaritonic Cathode Ray Tube (UPCRT) merges traditional CRT technology with modern advancements in MEMS (Micro-Electro-Mechanical Systems) and polaritonic materials. It uses a single, highly precise Field Emission Gun (FEG) and advanced beam steering to direct the electron beam across the screen. This beam interacts with a polaritonic layer embedded with quantum dots or quantum wells to produce light. Key innovations include shared MEMS control, enhanced thermal management, improved electron beam focusing, robust vacuum sealing, material durability under electron bombardment, simplified electron gun design, and a modular layout for easy servicing and upgrades.
UPCRT Advantages and Challenges: The UPCRT offers high resolution and contrast, a thin and lightweight form factor, and superior color accuracy and brightness due to polaritonic materials and quantum dots/wells. Its modular design allows for easier maintenance and potential upgrades. However, challenges include integrating advanced materials and MEMS technology, ensuring manufacturing uniformity, and managing production costs.
Addressing Erosion at the Cold Gun: A significant challenge in the UPCRT is erosion at the cold gun due to high-energy electron bombardment. To address this, several strategies are being explored:
Advanced Coating Materials: Applying advanced coatings like Diamond-like Carbon (DLC) and hafnium carbide protects components from erosion.
Nanostructured Surfaces: Nanotexturing and nanocomposite coatings distribute energy more evenly, reducing erosion.
Self-Healing Materials: Polymer-based self-healing coatings and metallic alloys with self-repair properties can fill in eroded areas.
Active Cooling Systems: Microfluidic cooling and thermoelectric coolers minimize thermal-induced erosion by reducing component temperature.
Optimized Electron Beam Control: Dynamic beam steering and shaping reduce the electron beam's impact on the cold gun components.
Conclusion: In summary, the UPCRT represents the future of display technology, leveraging cutting-edge innovations to deliver high resolution, contrast, and brightness in a thin and lightweight form factor. By combining advanced materials science, MEMS technology, and innovative design principles, the UPCRT overcomes traditional challenges and paves the way for a new era in display technology.
