Oehh, what do you like to bake or what are you planning to? I always make cinnamon rolls with christmas :) I remember liking the little mermaid as a child! I'm getting excited for christmas, almost decorating time! (After the 5th december)

I really like baking cakes even though they're a shit ton of work lol I'm actually baking one that's like a black velvet/black forest hybrid for the bake off at work next week lol I make a lot of cookies though just because they're easier, but I'm hoping to do more baking this year now that I'm settled and not as stressed about work and life like I have been the past few years.

Our family typically does orange rolls and pigs in a blanket on Christmas morning and then everyone naps until it's time to eat later on in the afternoon.

We typically start decorating after Thanksgiving, so that's the last week of November for non-Americans! We put up a bunch of greenery and the tree with ornaments. We aren't really a theme family, so the tree looks like whatever ornaments my mom decided need to be in rotation that year lol She likes to do the 12 days of Christmas ornaments through Hallmark. We play a lot of Christmas music and my dad and I drink more during the holidays, so we used the mulled wine mix I brought back from Germany a few years back or we'll buy the pre-made stuff at the grocery store when they have it.

Christmas just hasn't felt like Christmas the past few years, but I'm determined to make it feel like the old days this year lol

You feel foolish for even crying, but you can't bring yourself to stop the glistening tears from streaming down your face. You’re petrified, miles away from your former camp, stuck up in the Grizzlies. The Pinkertons are on your tail like a cat on a mouse, and you know it’s only a matter of time before they inevitably catch you. Your time is running out. You’ve had a good run with the van der Linde gang, but it’s time is nigh on done. It's a daunting realization, especially after losing so many folks back in Blackwater. 

Because of your position in the gang, you’ve been given your own bedroom in the same cabin as Arthur, Dutch and Hosea. It's a cold room, but better than what most of the gang have. The wind whistles outside as thick snowflakes land on the roof, causing ice cold water to drip repetitively from the ceiling above. The wind and the leak intertwine with your cries, forming a sad, sad song. 

You sit on the bed with your knees hugged to your chest, sobbing into them with no sign of stopping. You try to keep quiet as your breathing comes in shudders, and your shoulders shake violently. There is an ache in your ribs from the sobs erupting from your chest, but it pales in comparison to the ache in your heart. You hiccup, catching your breath, and unknowingly alerting Arthur who is walking by to catch some shut eye. 

With his eyebrows pulled together in worry, he gently nudges your door open. You don’t even look up, and he stands in the doorway for a moment, glancing over your curled up, crumbling form. Of course, he knows what's wrong, and his heart shatters at the sight of you looking so broken. His heart– it’s been longing for your own for so long, and seeing you like this breaks him. 

“Oh, darlin…” He murmurs, stepping forward in only a few strides. You hear his boots clicking against the floor before the bed dips under his weight, and then his big, warm arms are around you. 

“I'm so sorry.” He whispers.

There’s something about his arms around you. They are sturdy and unmoving, and yet piece by piece, they begin to build your broken heart back together. There’s so much safety and comfort in his arms, you’re sure that he could protect you even from the storms raging in the Grizzlies with his hugs. You wrap your arms under his, hands on his back as you sniffle and cry into his shirt. 

“Do you wanna talk about it?” Arthur asks quietly, swaying you lightly in his arms as he shields you from your pain and the cold. Arthur doesn’t push you. He knows exactly how you feel, and opening up about these things is far from easy in his own experience. The gang– it’s coming to an end, and you both know it. Now you just have to find a way to exit peacefully, hopefully taking those that you love with you. 

"Shh, shh. You're okay." He coos, tucking your head under his chin.

Arthur is radiating with warmth, and you feel the frostbite leaving your nose as you nuzzle into his chest. His thumb reaches up to wipe away a fresh tear as he frowns lightly at the sight of you so upset. Your skin is soft against Arthur’s calloused hand, and your eyes slip closed as you savor the feeling of his touch.

“I’m scared, Arthur.” You admit, lip trembling as silent tears slide down your frozen cheeks. 

“I know you are, I know, but I will get you out of this mess. I promise you.” Arthur swears, resting back against the headboard as his mind runs rampant. He can’t let you die for this gang, and he’ll get you out safely if it's the last thing he does. 

“You just rest now, alright? You don’t gotta worry no more. I gotcha now.” Arthur murmurs, laying down with you nuzzled into his side. You cuddle against him as tightly as you can manage, placing your head on his chest as you nod your head. For the first time since Blackwater, the trails of tears from your reddened eyes cease.

Arthur’s hand runs soothingly up and down your back as he makes sure you’re comfortable and taking deep breaths. He wishes he could take this pain away from you, but he knows he can't. All he can do is hold you. 

Your eyes slip shut as you nuzzle against his blue wool coat, your cries dying down to soft sniffles. 

"Feelin' any better?" Arthur asks, watching as your breathing settles back to normal. Your cheeks are red from the cold, and your lashes stick together from sticky tears. Arthur pulls the blankets up over the two of you, not wanting you to catch a cold. 

"I am now that you’re here." You whisper, feeling a heavy tiredness fall over you. Arthur is so comfortable, and you feel safe enough to fall asleep in his arms. Arthur can tell you're drifting off, and he wraps his arms around you tighter for it. 

"It's okay, get some sleep. I'll still be here when you wake up." Arthur murmurs. Seeking more of his comfort, and taking another step towards telling him how you feel, you unwrap one of his arms from your body. Arthur's eyebrows pull together, and at first he's worried that he's crossed a line until you intertwine your fingers with his own and hold your joined hands against his chest. 

Arthur smiles down at your hands, watching your face relax as you finally drift to sleep. He'll hold you the rest of the night, making sure you're okay. 

"I'll get you outta this mess." He reiterates, "If it's the last thing I do, I won't let you die for these fools." 

He hopes that you'll go with him, run away to some place far. Arthur's never been one to daydream of pleasantries, but you make him want a home, a family. He'd leave the gang for you, he'd buy a home and work an honest job just so he could come home to you. He'd make you proud. 

But for now, all he can do is hold you, comfort you from the storm outside alongside the one raging in your mind. Now the only sounds in the room are the leaking roof and your light snores as you take comfort in the first safety you've felt in days. Arthur will always be that comfort for you.

I have a query and I'm sorry that this question is going to upset you in advance. I see a post circling on here about Holocaust survivors apparently saying that Palestinians are exactly like them during attacks on Gaza. I just scroll past it because I have poor attention span that cannot stay focused more than one sentence but I wanted to know your opinion on this post or if you have seen it. I have seen a post that might be the one you're referring to... It's a screenshot of a tweet:

The original tweet shows an interview with one Holocaust survivor. The response falsely expands this to survivors, in the plural, as if this one tweet shows a whole movement of Holocaust survivors, that people simply refuse to listen to.

The original tweet comes from an account that calls itself a "media company," but has no website (something I would expect from an actual media company), and is at least 80% tweets that are anti-Israel and anti-Jewish. I'll give you an example. We all know Elon Musk has allowed antisemitism to thrive on Twitter, all kinds of it, including the white supremacist type, and others that have nothing to do with Israel. In an attempt to educate him, he was invited to a tour of Auschwitz. But apparently, according to this "media company," that was just meant to stop anti-genocide speech on his social media platform:

Of the up to 20% of tweets this "media company" posts or shares, many are anti-democratic or in support of dictatorial regimes.

This account also amplified the words of Julius Malema, leader of the South African EFF party, as he justified the Oct 7 massacre, and demanded support for the (genocidal) Hamas and its "resistance."

Malema himself has repeatedly sang, "Kill the Boer," a song which many understand as a genocidal chant against the Boers, the South Africans of Dutch descent. This guy is a controversial figure at best, doesn't seem to have an issue with an actual genocide, and this "media company" upholds his words as if he is a role model.

But if this account tweets Israel hate, then I guess the Tumblr user who passed the tweet along has no issue with how questionable of a source this is.

I recognized the face of the survivor. This is what it looks like in the cut off screenshot in the Tumblr post I saw:

So how did I recognize him? Because the number of anti-Zionist Holocaust survivors is SO small (around 5), and I have seen every single one of them repeatedly tokenized by antisemites so much, that I'm familiar with the name and face of each. The man in this vid is Hajo Meyer, who died in 2014. He couldn't possibly make any comments about Hamas' massacre on Oct 7, 2023 and the war in Gaza since, unless this "media company" has managed to somehow contact the afterlife. Here's a screenshot from Google, showing a recent re-upload of this vid to IG:

I'm guessing that "media company" didn't name him, or specify the date out of the vid, because it didn't want people to know the guy was dead, and the views he expressed were pre-Hamas' massacre.

Hajo Meyer was, without a doubt, an anti-Zionist. But would he still be using this rhetoric after Oct 7, after the biggest massacre of Jews since the Holocaust, after better understanding the kind of threat that Israel and Jews worldwide (since Hamas has tried to target Jews in European countries as well, including in the Netherlands, where Meyer lived) are facing from this genocidal terrorist organization ruling Gaza? IDK. I'd like to think he would be better than to continue distorting the Holocaust through this false comparison, but I can't say for sure, and I'm not about to claim that I do, putting words in his mouth just to exploit a dead Holocaust survivor. The fact that the anti-Israel crowd would continue to tokenize (meaning, exploit) a dead survivor like that, as if anyone could know for sure that Meyer would continue to toe the same line, just shows there really is no moral low they can't stoop to.

And here I wanna emphasize how wrong this antisemitic practice is, tokenizing Jews. Because no marginalized group is immune to the hatred spread against it, there will ALWAYS be some of its members, who will internalize and embrace poison aimed at it. There were gay Nazis (the notorious Ernest Roehm was the highest ranking one) and we also have contemporary gay neo-Nazis. So, should we use them in order to pretend that Nazi ideology is not homophobic? That it didn't harm hundreds of thousands of gay people? No, we know that the overwhelming majority of gay people suffered due to it, and would insist that Nazism IS homophobic. So, using those few exceptions to ignore (and embolden) the homophbia of this ideology, ends up being homophobic in itself. Embracing the unrepresentative few over the representative, mainstream majority of a marginalized group in "exonerating" what the group says is hateful and harmful towards it, ends up being hateful and harmful in itself.

And that's what people who only listen to the few anti-Zionist Holocaust survivors are doing. They're basically saying, "Listen to Holocaust survivors!" but they mean only the few who say what the anti-Israel movement does. All the other survivors they ignore, dismiss, silence or even erase.

They're ignoring the voices of the overwhelming majority of Holocaust survivors who WERE (and are) Zionist. Who do not agree with this distorted narrative. Yad Vashem estimates that two thirds of Holocaust survivors came to Israel at the end of WWII, and many more supported Israel even when they chose to settle elsewhere. Just recently, we had a group of 870 American survivors (along with their descendants, altogether 2,500 Jews) thank Biden for standing with Israel after the Hamas massacre. These anti-Israel haters are also erasing the survivors who were themselves targeted on Oct 7, whether threatened, kidnapped, injured or murdered (I've talked about several in my posts on this blog). This anti-Israel mob is exploiting Hajo Meyer even in ignoring that if he had been alive and present in Israel, even just to visit a friend or family member, he would have been targeted, too. These haters are ignoring survivors who said that what Hamas has done is similar to what the Nazis did (I've talked about several of them in my posts on this blog, too. All can be found in my Israel tag).

It is unconscionable, to treat most Holocaust survivors like they don't count, and only see a (literal) handful of anti-Zionist ones as if they do. And it certainly does NOT show the respect the anti-Israel haters imply survivors are owed, through the demand that we all defer to the opinion of the survivors, but ONLY the few anti-Zionist ones.

All that said, off the top of my head, here's a small number of HUGE differences between the Holocaust, and the Israeli-Arab conflict, and anyone ignoring them IS guilty of distorting the Holocaust.

-> The Holocaust did NOT start due to Jews repeatedly murdering Germans on German soil, in an attempt to keep Germans down and prevent them from establishing self rule in the German ancestral land. The Holocaust was completely unprovoked, unjustified and one-sided. Every oppressive measure taken by the Nazis against the Jews, was motivated by antisemitism, and was NOT a reaction to Jewish anti-German terrorism, that the Nazis had to protect their German citizens from. Speaking of unprovoked, unjustified and for a very long time one-sided, that describes the Arab anti-Jewish violence that preceded the establishment of the State of Israel by almost 100 years. But Jewish self-defense in this conflict, which only started about 50 years after said violence began, was provoked, was justified, was a response to what was done to the Jews first.

-> The Holocaust did NOT consist of Jews on German soil collaborating militarily with several Jewish countries surrounding Germany, with the goal of these combined Jewish armies invading and wiping it off the map, in order to prevent German self rule. Guess what the Arabs did to the Jews...

-> The Holocaust did NOT entail repeated German efforts to find a solution for how Jews and Germans could live together on the same land. In pre-state Israel, Jews did try repeatedly to reach an understanding that would allow Jews and Arabs to peacefully share (and co-exist in) the Jewish ancestral land.

-> When Jews finally started rebelling against the Nazis, they did NOT try to get as many Jewish civilians as possible killed. On the contrary, the outbreak of the most famous Jewish revolt, the one in the Warsaw Ghetto, was postponed until the Nazis entered, and the Jewish fighters believed this to be the final 'liquidation' of the ghetto (meaning, the deportation and extermination of the roughly 60,000 Jews still alive there). Only then did they fight back, because (in their own words), they did not want their decision to rebel to cost another Jew "even one hour of life." Compare that to how Hamas has been using Palestinian civilians as human shields. Or even to the Arab leadership back in 1948, which did not hesitate in risking or displacing the entire Arab population in the Land of Israel, in favor of fighting what they called "an extermination war" against the Jews.

-> The Holocaust did NOT see a single day where Germans worked en masse to try and alleviate the suffering of Jews, whether by providing them with humanitarian aid, or by moving them to areas where they would be safe from death. That's in direct contrast to Israel's efforts to make Palestinians' lives better, whether through humanitarian aid, work permits in Israel that guarantee a higher salary and better social rights, medical treatments, warnings when a terrorist target is about to be struck, etc.

-> The Holocaust was NOT supposed to end with even one Jew alive at the end of it. The Germans were going for total extermination of the Jewish people. All Jews who had German citizens were stripped of it in 1935, even before the most murderous parts of this genocide commenced. In contrast, Israel did NOT seek to kill all Arabs, there were many calls for Arabs not to flee Israel and the war which the Arab leadership had started, at the end of the war Israel gave citizenship to 150,000 Arabs who did not leave and did not take arms against Jews, and there was even an offer for tens of thousands of Arabs to return (Weitzmann presented it to the UN), if they do so peacefully. Just a few thousands accepted that offer, but those who did, got citizenship and land.

-> The Nazis were so eager to kill every Jew, that they came to the conclusion they HAD to industrialize their genocide of the Jewish people. That's why they built extermination camps with gas chambers at their core. Auschwitz alone could, on certain days, kill about 20,000 people. No Jew was meant to leave those camps alive. The crematoria were mass murder factories. ANY crime that you want to compare to the Holocaust specifically, you have to show that it includes this industrialization element. Currently, NO GENOCIDE, no matter how horrific, has. And God help us all, I hope it stays that way (this is one of the reasons why the Holocaust mustn't be distorted or minimized. We can't prevent something from happening, if we don't understand what HAS happened, and that we're trying to stop from being repeated). There is not a SINGLE thing in the history of the Israeli-Arab conflict that comes CLOSE to being an industrialized form of massacre. Even the brutality of Hamas on Oct 7, the single bloodiest day in the history of this conflict for either side, doesn't come close.

-> While there are still Jews around, meaning the Holocaust as conceptualized by the Nazis failed, it was so deadly, that it DID lead to the murder of around 70-80% of the Jews living under the Nazi occupation over a short number of years. Even more than 80 years after the end of the Holocaust, Jews have not recovered demographically. Meanwhile, the Palestinian population has increased by about 10 times since Israel's Independence War. But let's say people wanna claim that just this current war is comparable to the Holocaust. There are presently around 7 million Arabs in the territories of the Jewish ancestral land, of which about 2 million are Israeli citizens. I'm gonna go with the anti-Israel narrative for a second, which claims ALL of them are occupied and oppressed by Israel (even though they're not). In order for the ruin of Palestinians to be indeed on the same level, that would mean 70-80% of them would have to be murdered by Israel during the war. Let's go with the lower percent, so it's easier for the anti-Israel crowd to reach the number of deaths that would support their claim. To have killed 70% of 7 million, that would mean Israel would have to kill 4.9 million Arabs in this so-called "genocide." Even if we exclude Israeli Arabs, and only focus on the 5 million Palestinians living in areas where the Israeli army currently operates (imagine the German Nazis allowing Jews safety inside Germany, and only killing them outside it *eyeroll*), that would mean at least 3.5 million Palestinians killed. But after almost 5 months of this war, the number of Palestinian fatalities, as claimed by Hamas, is around 30,000 people (I'm putting aside the fact that at least 12,000 are Hamas terrorists). The gap between what is happening, and what people who make this false comparison are implying is happening, is incomprehensible.

It was morning. Your least favourite time of day. You were slightly grumpy from being out of the warmth of you bed, but it was time to start the day. Natasha would softly whisper to you and stroke the bridge of your nose, the same tactic she used to put you to sleep, to wake you up. She allowed for 10 minutes of grumpiness whilst you adjusted to being awake before scooping you out of bed to start your morning routine.

You sat patiently between Natasha’s legs, your shoulders leaning gently against the muscular thighs that you love so much.

She hummed softly as she brushed through your hair, working her way gently through all of your knots and tangles.

“Oh my dove, how do you even do this to yourself?” She mused, trying to untangle a particularly nasty clump of hair stuck together.

You yawned and shrugged, too preoccupied with the fidget toy in your hand that Natasha had given to you to occupy your time. Having your hair played with and receiving all of your mother's attention was heaven. She knew just how to make you feel safe and comforted.

Natasha carded her fingers through your hair, satisfied that it was smooth enough.

You couldn’t help but lean into her soft touch as her fingertips gently massaged your scalp. A soft moan escaped your lips making Natasha grin. She adored seeing her little girl so happy. She loved it even more that she was the reason why.

A few more minutes passed before Natasha moved to start sectioning your hair.  The loss of her fingers was sad but you were excited for your braids.

“Look up to the sky, Dove,” Natasha said, tilting your chin up for you.

You could feel Natasha gathering up sections of your hair, working her way slowly back, taking her time to make sure it was neat.

Every now and then she would have to adjust your head because you would slowly start to look down at your fidget and she didn’t want your braid to be wonky. 

Once she was done with the left side, she repeated on the other. She tilted your chin up once more, “and look up,” only this time she leaned over to give you a quick peck to your lips. 

“Mommy,” you giggled, her making you blush. You loved her so so much. More than anything in the world. She was your world. And you were hers.

It didn’t take her long to complete the right braid and with the final tighten of the hairband did you spin around to face her.

Your hands immediately went to feel the intertwined hair, impressed with how good it felt. You could only imagine how good it actually looked. Your mommy was the best at braiding hair. French, Dutch, she could do it all.  

“Thank you so much, mommy,” you said jumping into her arms and wrapping yourself around her.

“Anything for you my little dove,”

CC, the Dutch are refusing to take the blame for Scobie's horrible Endgame stunt. According to Neil Sean's youtube video "MEGHAN - LIES WILL OUT & THERE IS NO ESCAPE ..LATEST NEWS" (from Dec 17th, 2023)— allegedly, they're making a documentary of the publishing fiasco. It was heartbreaking to see how devastated these poor professional Dutch translators were in trying to defend their livelihood during this PR frenzy. I hope the Dutch documentary nails Scobie/Meghan/Harry to the wall for this.

Hi minnie, found out from one of the posts that you did your master's in the UK. I'm doing the same currently. How was your experience?? I love my uni studies and all but fuck the weather!!!. I'm in the northwest of England and I haven't seen the sun in ages. I experienced sun, rain, cloud, blue skies and fog all at once in the uk. It was a bizarre experience.

I don't know what your situation is exactly, but personally, but I spent quite a bit of time in the UK before I moved there to do my masters (I'm Dutch, but I'd already done a semester abroad and an internship in Wales and I had friends in London who I visited frequently, and I've just always been something of an anglophile/UK lover), so I was pretty familiar with the UK and London and its weather 🙈 Although the weather in Northern England is definitely a bit more gloomy than it is in the South, there's no doubt about that! I really love a lot of things about the UK, but the lack of sunshine definitely isn't one of those things 🙈 So I feel you on that one, even though the Netherlands honestly aren't that much better! You might be from a sunnier part of the world though, so in that case, you definitely have my sympathies 😬

As for earning a living and dealing with the high costs, I was lucky enough to get a government loan as well as a scholarship for my degree, so most of the costs for the 12 month duration of my masters (it was a full year one) were covered by those. Towards the end of my degree, though, I decided I wanted to stay in London, so then I looked for a job. A friend of mine was, at the time, working with a small company who were looking for someone to temporarily replace one of their employees and the job was right up my street, so she arranged an interview for me and fortunately, I got the job. It was only supposed to be for the last few months of my degree, but then the person I was covering for decided they weren't coming back after all, and I was hired permanently. So basically, I just got really lucky 😭🙈 I worked at that company full-time until I moved back to the Netherlands a few years later for personal reasons, so I'm afraid I never really had to look for other ways to earn some cash at the time!

However, a couple of things that helped me save money during my studies in the UK (but which I assume you're already doing too, as they're super obvious student things): I lived with other students for a while, which meant cheaper rent, I did most of my groceries at Lidl, Aldi and Tesco, I got a student Underground and Railway card and used every possible student discount on other things I could get, and I also knew exactly where the happy hours were at what time 😅

I'm so sorry I can't really offer any other advice in this regard, but maybe there are others reading this who might have tips for you?? If anyone does, please feel free to chip in and help nonnie out! 😊 In any case, I hope you're loving your masters and your time in the UK as much as I did, lovely!!! recipe for the muffins??

Hi Nonny! The breakfast muffins from this post are from the cookbook Rudolph's Bakery 2 by Rudolph van Veen. Dutch cookbook, so if you need Freedom Units, you'll have to convert them from metric, sorry! Recipe under the cut.

Ingredients for 12 muffins:

Muffins:

100 g raisins

200 g shredded apple

200 g shredded carrots

100 g chopped walnuts

80 g honey

60 mL extra virgin olive oil

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

120 g yoghurt

2 eggs

2 tablespoons baking powder (not baking soda!)

250 whole wheat flour

Topping:

100 g oats

40 g pumpkin seeds

40 g sunflower seeds

50 g butter

50 g honey

Preheat your oven to 180 C. Soak the raisins in water for 10 minutes.

In a large bowl, mix the apple, carrot, raisins, walnuts, honey, olive oil, vanilla, yoghurt and eggs. In a separate bowl, mix the flour and baking powder and calmly fold that into muffin batter until everything is mixed evenly. Fill muffin wrappers with the batter.

Mix the oats, pumpkin- and sunflower seeds and butter. Use your fingertips to knead the butter through the oats and seeds. Add the honey and mix it to sticky crumbs. Divide the topping over the batter.

Bake the muffins for about 30 minutes in the oven.

Notes:

I omitted the raisins because I hate raisins and used plant-based margarine instead of butter.

I misread the instructions for the topping and immediately added the honey; that wasn't an issue for me though it did make kneading a bit...stickier.

30 minutes was too long for my oven, I had to bake them in two batches and after about 28 minutes the first batch was close to burning. 26 minutes was enough for the second batch.

I have my first day of internship tomorrow and I'm excited and nervous. I have to wake up at 6 am, (I'm so not happy, I'm not a morning person :) ) because if I take one train later I'm 5 minutes late. Also the one that I need has delay most of the time soo. Do you use public transport (a lot) ?

Hey, Dutch!

I would LOVE to swim with them one day! I spend at least two hours just petting them, so who knows how long I’ll sit in the pool with them lol their barbs are filed down every so often so they don’t sting anyone, so it’s completely safe to put your hand in and pet them! They’ve got a mucous layer on top of their skin, so they’re actually kind of slimy! The zebra sharks are very scratchy and feel like sandpaper.

But that sucks!! I hate that for you. I’m not much of a morning person either until I have a chance to wake up, and even then I’m never full functional until around 9:30 lol We don’t have very reliable public transportation where I’m from, so I drive a lot! Thankfully, it’s only about a 15 minute drive to my parking garage and then a 3 minute walk to my building after that! So it’s not too bad compared to the forty minute drive I used to make to my last job!

Dutch always gets up extra early to read and survey the camp. You usually follow him out of bed in a few hours, but on certain days you don't, and his heart breaks when he realizes you've not gotten out of bed.

Some days you just can't manage to get out of bed. He'll come back inside the tent, crawl back into bed with you, and talk.

"Just come walk with me, just for a few minutes by the river." He'll urge you, knowing that getting up and outside tends to help.

Some days when your head gets to you, you can manage to go with him. But he understands that on the bad days you just can't.

Dutch doesn't fully understand what you're going through, but he wants to help. He loves you, and seeing you so broken pains him greatly. He wishes that he could take the weight from your shoulders, but all he can do is be by your side.

He brings you coffee or tea in bed. He'll read to you, talk to you, basically do anything to keep you awake so you don't slip into a worse state. He lets you rest when he knows you need it though, and he's right at your back cuddling you.

Dutch brings you food, not Pearson's stew, but your favorite meal, and he encourages you to eat something. He also makes sure you're drinking plenty of water.

He keeps in touch with Grimshaw and Arthur on these days, letting Grimshaw know to leave you be and giving Arthur control of the camp. No one asks questions.

Dutch let's you know that despite how you feel, you're so strong. He tells you that what you're going through is incredibly hard, and that you're doing so good.

He's there by your side to hold you when you cry, and he's outside the tent when you need space.

Dutch tells you that no matter what, he'll be with you, and no matter how bad it feels, you'll get through it. He loves you so much, and will be anything you need him to be <3

Hey!! Idk if you are watching Eurovision or if you are but still are a bit behind but when you end/see the final results, were you expecting Israel to end up where it ended up or?

I absolutely watched, gotta cheer for Eden, after all she had been through! It wasn't easy, we had a rocket attack by Hamas at Israel during the show, while people who have never had to run into a bomb shelter for their lives booed in the venue at Israel getting as little as 3 points here or there, from a random jury.

I think Croatia deserved to win, I didn't expect us to, and TBH, with the financial crisis Israel is currently going through due to the war, I might not want us to, because it costs a lot to host.

But Israel making it to second place in the public's vote? Wow. WOW. What a statement. The judges in the juries have to put their names to their vote, and with the hatred that some protesters have spilled at anything Israel related, to the point of people personally threatened, I'm not that surprised that we didn't get more during that part of the show. But where people aren't being personally threatened? All these countries showed that Israel isn't as much of a pariah as some violent protesters would like you to believe, and that sane people understand what Israel is going through.

Israel also beat in the public vote every one of the awful "artists" that had no qualms about being disgusting to a 20 years old girl, who is representing her people, as if she's guilty of what they think about her government. Considering that it could have easily been them, targeted because of something their government was doing, the complete lack of empathy and basic human decency, or even just understanding for a fellow performer was beyond vile. So yeah, I'm glad Eden got more points than Switzerland, Ireland, Portugal, Greece and the UK. These, together with the Dutch singer (who got himself disqualified) were the worst offenders, constantly harassing and humiliating Eden and others in the Israeli delegation. MUCH LOVE to the people in those countries that were better than their representatives, and to those in every country that voted for Eden, showing compassion and an actual endorsement of humaneness.

Did I expect it? I had hopes the public would be kinder than expected, but yeah, I didn't think we'd get a second place among viewers. And enough points from juries to get to 5th place overall, too? It was incredible, and it felt like a win. I'm very proud of all those voters, of the jury judges who dared to put "Israel" next to their names, and of the Israeli team (they said that all that hate just made them want to be even more professional about the whole thing).

Am Yisrael chai! We're alive, kicking, and in our way, even winning!

Historically, it's kind of interesting that when the sh-t hits the fan for various European monarchies, they all flee to the UK. Even during WW2, members of the Norwegian Royal Family, Greek Royal Family, Dutch Royal Family, Luxembourg Royal Family and so on all fled to the UK. I guess that's why the deposed last King of Greece lived most of his life in exile in the UK as the BRF were literally relatives of his.

I think it is a combination of a) Queen Victoria marrying off her children all around Europe, so now most of the royal families are related in some way and can call on their relatives for help, and b) the UK being a safe space during the turmoil of WW2, with that image of the UK as a safe refuge continuing to this day. That is a simple explanation for what is undoubtedly a more complex topic. :)

You are right, it is interesting to see how the European monarchies reacted in times of stress and trouble.
