I point and laugh at the foot fetish pages (Weren't you raised by elves? Can't you sing? Anything else as a first idea?) but it's just me disguising how it wounds me. Mithrun is convinced that he's dependent on magic or drugs to fall asleep, and it's so immediately disproven. It gives me the impression those methods were the elves' first idea, and it worked, so they kept doing it and he now believes it's necessary. He evidently can't even do it to himself. He believes he's dependent on this cold, utilitarian solution.
It makes me wonder about how he perceives himself and his situation, and how he reports it to people. It's a good early insight into reasons Kabru will tell him he's full of shit later.
Kabru is a stranger at this point, basically, so he doesn't have those assumptions about him. He just does what he'd do for anyone else, which is to just. Put him somewhere warm and make him feel comfortable and safe.
What's it like to be spared death by people who won't even do that for you?

Man I wish Marcille was biracial. Like she’s (spoilers for Dungeon Meshi Manga in case you didn’t see the spoilers tag) half elf and half tallman, but I wish she was mixed as in her ethnicity too. Ryoko Kui does a lot with the intersectionality of race, like with the several double interracial adoptions where brown short-lived/long-lived kids are adopted by white long-lived/short-lived adults, and I just wish that could’ve carried over for Marcille too.
Ok like hear me out. Marcille is the odd one out around non-elves because she’s part elf and so they see her as an elf, but she’s odd around other elves because she’s not pure blooded and they see her as not an elf. I know that’s her being mixed race with elf and tallman, but can you imagine if she was mixed (as in non-fantasy race) too? Like what if she’s white passing, only speaks common, and grew up around a lot of elf culture, so she’s basically regarded as white and can’t quite fit in with POC because she’s hardly connected with any of the culture and can’t fully relate to their experiences in the same way, but then when she’s around white people they almost immediately flag her as non-white so she feels othered around them too.
Do you guys see my vision? Maybe I’m just biased because I’m mixed race and relate to Marcille lmao but if she was double mixed I think it would’ve aligned with the motif(? is that the right word I forget) of intersectionality of race in the manga. Plus it would’ve been so cool.

If Mithrun had managed to kill/defeat Thistle on the first floor, the Golden Country citizens would've crowned him king, right? That would've been a sight to see

Younger/untraumatized Mithrun being a stupid helpless twink who's supposed to be a wizard but is always losing his fucking staff means so much to me.

Hello!
One question has been bothering me for a long time. Don’t you understand what exactly happened with mithrun’s group in the dungeon? what did he mean by that
«the dungeon ate many of my unit’s members»
If I understood correctly, everything in the mithrun’s dungeon was artificial/fake, but then how did the others canaries die?
it turns out that this happened because of other circumstances unrelated to mithrun (or maybe when the dungeon was being rebuilt?)
thank you!
Took me a while to remember when he said that, it's right at the end of chapter 61
I assume it's in the same sense the dungeon "ate" Senshi's team mates, if you desire too much the Dungeon will consume you, it's a sentiment that's repeated a few times
He compares it to Utaya so I think it happened when he became unstable at the end before (or during?) the time the Demon ate his desires.
His dungeon was as real as any dungeon tho, it had adventurer's sneaking in and monsters to protect him
We get a small peek at the wider dungeon outside his castle in Milsiril's extra in the adventurer's bible
so they probably died because of the monsters while trying to defeat/save Mithrun
When they find him the dungeon is warped and Milsiril has scratches/blood on her face, so I assume they were fighting before this encounter (the room wasn't that disgusting when Mithrun first became a dungeon lord)
They probably died during that I assume
