Since you already did the 5 songs list, I'll ask something of my own (to reciprocate the gesture and to get to know you a bit💕)

What are your favorite tropes/plots in fanfics? And what are your fav ship to read each of the trope/plot with?

This is a brilliant ask... In fact it's so good I had to take like a good 24 hours to think about it - so sorry about that! I'm not even sure the answer is going to be good enough but seriously I really, really appreciate it! Diolch yn fawr iawn! So... I am in waaaay too deep with Sterek fanfics to be fair so I had to go back a bit to think about what I used to read. Then with the ship question I had to actually bring in fic fics so I'm cheating a bit. As usual. So some of my favourite tropes are: Enemies to lovers, Found family, curses with a twist, Strange small town, big consequences/things coming with a meaningful cost, I love a good mystery, inconvenient proximity, Sentient objects, I'm not sure what it's called but where you have that one character that cannot take a situation seriously. Like someone is being overly dramatic and someone is like yeahhhh I call bullshit. Oh there's so many

I think ultimately I just really love to see people figure things out...

Fanfic wise because I'm reading it lots I'll stick with the sterek fandom for a sec. I love Magic!Stiles, Emissary!Stiles, Pack feels, Nearly all Au's but it get's a plus if there's still a supernatural element. I like Derek getting nice things... Angst with a happy ending! I'm actually not too fussy, I love to read a bit of everything - there's a few things I'm not great with obviously but other than that I try to keep an open mind. Ships: I've been on about sterek so I'll give that a rest. I like enemies to lovers Destiel, undercover Destiel or like mundane tasks Destiel. I think Blue/Gansey from the Raven cycle fits enemies to lovers and they check off the curse with a twist too. Pynch also from the raven cycle are my two favourite magic boys. I love the way their relationship is written.

This was actually a really hard question to answer but I really enjoyed thinking about it! I'm not sure I've done it justice! Ultimately I think I really like watching two fun characters that have good dynamics together figure things out! I always tell my friend my faves end up being something that has 'the squeeee factor.' This is deliberately vague and varies wildly!

Leo frowns at his phone.

Or more specifically, at the test on his phone.

Around him, he hears the sound of his brothers tapping their own devices, much faster than he is. Looking up just makes Leo feel worse about his own progress - or lack-thereof.

Mikey’s the fastest, speeding through the test like nobody’s business. He’d been the one to make them all do this stupid test in the first place, so it makes sense that he’s having a blast.

Raph’s slower than Mikey is, but he’s still clearly answering the questions at a steady pace. Sometimes he looks unsure, but he powers through anyway.

Donnie often looks frustrated, which relieves Leo somewhat because at least someone is struggling like him. But that “struggle” isn’t nearly as big as his own, considering that Donnie is answering about as fast as Raph is.

Leo turns his gaze back down to his own test. He’s still near the beginning, he thinks.

He’d put the same answer for the past seven questions - the middle of the road answer, neither a “yes” or a “no.” Then, whenever he does come across one that is more one direction than the other, he second guesses himself and restarts the test!

Sure, there are a few he could definitely give a yes or a no to, but…never the “strongly agree” or “strongly disagree” that the test seemed to want from him.

He eyes his twin sitting nearby, the softshell absorbed in the test. Maybe Leo should copy what Donnie put for some of these…

“DONE!” Mikey’s shout makes Leo freeze in place just as he started to lean over.

“What?” Donnie squawks, “No way you’re already finished, you must’ve been cheating!”

“It’s a personality test, Dee!” Mikey stuck his tongue out, “You can’t cheat at those!”

…

Leo settles back into his seat.

Ignoring Donnie’s mutterings about how it was “just because it’s not an academic test” that he didn’t finish first, Raph smiles encouragingly at Mikey.

“Hey, good job! So what’d you get, Mike?”

Mikey looks back down at his test, reading aloud, “Says that I got the “Campaigner”!”

“What’s that mean?” Leo asks, his phone screen going dark.

“Apparently, I’m an “enthusiastic, creative, and sociable free-spirit”.” Mikey reads, smiling at them, “You think it fits?”

“Oh, to a T, bro!” Leo laughs, giving Mikey a thumbs up, making Mikey’s smile grow larger.

Inside, Leo was feeling a lot more mixed about this. He has no idea how Mikey knew himself so well. Maybe Donnie was right and Mikey did cheat, because how could he answer those questions so easily?

Leo’s phone burns in his hand. He keeps it locked.

“Wow, that really is you.” Raph says, his eyes flitting back and forth between his own test and Mikey, “Do you think it fits?”

“I guess? It’s fun to see at least!” Mikey shrugs with a grin.

“Hold on, I think…” Raph makes a noise of satisfaction, “Okay, done!”

“Sigh, now I’m relegated to the straggler group.” Donnie grumbles, his thumbs moving faster as he tries rushing through the questions.

“Ooh, what’d you get Raph?” Mikey asks, practically bouncing in curiosity.

“Says, uh…I got something called the “Consul”?” He squints his eyes to read more, “Uh, “caring, social, and community-minded.””

“Sounds about right to me.” Leo nods. Can’t be more “community-minded” than being a hero.

“Yeah, no one’s more caring than you, Raphie!” Mikey says, moving to lean across Raph’s shell.

“You do put the community in mind, that’s for sure.” Donnie states, not looking up.

Raph chuckles, a bit embarrassed, “Aw, thanks. It’s just some test, but it feels kinda good to hear that.”

Just a test. Right.

Leo unlocks his screen.

The test stares back at him.

Right. Okay. He can do this. He can.

The screen ends up going dark again.

Frustration builds up in Leo. Was he even halfway done with the test? At this rate, soon even Donnie will-

“FINISHED.”

Leo unlocks his phone.

“What’d you get, DonTon?” Leo asks as his thumb taps the top right of the screen.

Donnie puffs up proudly, a self sure grin on his face, “I got the result “Logician” which states that I, obviously, am an “innovative inventor with a thirst for knowledge.” Truly could not have described me better, if I do say so myself.”

“It is pretty accurate.” Raph agrees with a nod, “Even calls you an inventor, so extra accurate.”

“Super accurate.” Mikey jumps in, eyes shining.

“Yes, yes, almost like reading my own character synopsis.” Donnie’s grin had not dwindled since the word “innovative” had left his mouth.

Leo just nods along, eyes on his own screen as he skims the words. “Yeah, kinda creepy how close it got. Could have called you a nerd for extra accuracy, though.”

Donnie turns to him, eyes narrowing, “Have you even finished your test? I can think of a few words that’d describe you fairly well.”

“Test-y, huh?”

Before Donnie can strangle Leo, Raph cuts in.

“Ok, ok, calm it down, guys.” He rolls his eyes before turning to Leo. “But really, you’re not done yet?”

“Leo’s taking this self reflection seriously.” Mikey sports a faux intellectual expression as he gives a jokingly serious nod. “Maybe we all should’ve taken our time.”

“Says the one who sped through the whole thing in a record time.” Donnie mutters.

Leo waves them all off, “Nah, I finished it ages ago.”

He grins when Donnie immediately shoots him a suspicious glare. “Oh, you did, did you? Then what could you have possibly gotten, Nardo?”

“I’m glad you asked!” Leo clears his throat, “Neon Leon just so happens to be an “Entertainer.””

“Ah. That confirms it. This test is meaningless.” Donnie drones.

“Hey-“

“What’s an Entertainer like?” Mikey asks with a tilt of his head, still hanging off of Raph’s shell.

“Glad you asked, Miguel!” Leo exclaims, “It says that “life is never boring” around yours truly~”

He emphasizes this “result” of his by waving his phone with said “result” on screen.

It’s just an image he found of his chosen personality result, but they don’t need to know that.

Raph nods slowly, “Well, I guess that’s true…”

“”Never boring” is one way to put it.” Donnie hums.

“You are pretty fun, Leo!” Mikey says emphatically, because he’s great like that.

“Thank you, thank you, life of the party, right here.” Leo grins, pointing both thumbs at himself.

He’s careful not to go too overboard with it, or else it might tip someone off.

Not that it…really matters. It’s just a test. Like Raph said.

As the topic around him shifts to something else, jumping away from this brief activity as fast as any other among them, Leo finds himself unlocking his phone and pulling up the test again.

Unanswered questions stare at him. He knows what answers Lou Jitsu would pick. He knows what answers Jupiter Jim would pick. Hell, he knows exactly what answers his brothers would pick.

He doesn’t know what answers Leonardo would pick.

Leo stares at the test for a second longer, before he exits the site and throws himself into the conversation happening around him.

It’s just a stupid test, nothing to worry about.

Just a test…

yall are about to piss me off by not having any PASSING basic knowledge of the way the u.s. military manipulates its recruits into joining by typing up one of your uninformed, unresearched, unempathetic, individualistic, unbelievably annoying posts about how 100% of the people in the military ended up there because they just Love America So Damn Much! they're extremely mature and informed at time of recruitment, they can totally leave anytime they want, they totally had tons of other avenues in life they could've taken, there was no rush at all to get income as fast as possible, and everyone in the military also totally is part of the combat divisions and personally enjoys being IN the military very much, big believers of violence. everyone in the military is shooting guns all day, that's how that works. they LOVE BLOODSHED. also I love the "amewicans haha" twang to this type of shit because you're actually TOTALLY stealing our Thing, which is turning systemic issues into Individual Issues. Instead of talking about the powers that be, it's so Personal Choice up in here. It's, "well you shouldn't have done it then. I totally wouldn't because I know better." you don't wanna talk about the military industrial complex as a whole, and you don't want to talk about recruiters, you just want to pin the blame on Specific Individual People one-by-one, as if they're responsible for the system that they're being ground up in. someone was in the military? bad person, no matter what. it's easier to believe that, I guess, than to acknowledge that Normal People (with high school educations) are manipulated and incentivized into joining a system that is Bad. at like age 18. but yeah no that 18 year old should have just been smarter lol haha anyway here are some screenshots for no particular reason

side note this reply of someone going "umm just get loans and go into a high paying field it's easy XD" as a direct response to someone trying to explain how most americans joining the military are being funneled in that direction out of a need for money.

and another person who Decided that americans join the military just CLENCHING their teeth thinking of other people, and not thinking completely selfishly about their own selves and their own income/housing/healthcare.

For my WIP today I'll be sharing a little character portrait I've been working on <3

His name's Eren, and he's going to play a somewhat important role in the astor fic I've been quietly working on. Working with his design has been interesting because it's a challenge between making him feel like his own person while still feeling true to the source material

(Yes, this is Link's dad lmao)

The picture on the left is concept art for Link's family from botw, so that's what I've been using as a jumping off point for Eren, esp in terms of physique, and then using Link as inspiration for more specific things (like coloration etc)

So yeah! He has a name now! He's not just Astor's ex Links dad anymore!

hiii just read your tags about the dynamic between your courier and benny and i'd like to say that was so beautiful and i really loved it! also very curious about what's gonna happen when she finds him

aWAHHH THANKU THAT MEANS A LOT TO MEE, get followed new friend!!! ANYWAY like I said in the dumb in depth tag thing She isn't sure what she's going to do, but I personally believe it depends on where they both are in their lives. For my courier taking over the strip was NEVER in her plans and it accidentally made her have to be responsible.

(5 min doodle bc I love u) So if Benny somehow settled down/became a family man in-between the events of him running off and my courier finding him then she might try to worm her way in - claim she's not opposed to "sharing" and insisting he move the whole family/SO back to New Vegas seeing as she's got it working better than ever - She'd gloat hard. If he insisted she scram I think things would get... Messier. How do you take all that from someone, give them a "legacy" and then have the gall to tell HER to scram? I think she'd take everything from him - fair is fair after all right? If he wants revenge, or closure, or ANYTHING he can hike his ass all the way back to the strip like she had to. God she would want him to - the worst case scenario here is he runs off again or just gives up so she might stack the deck a little. However if she just finds Benny in a pathetic hovel, or beaten down then all the better. How thrilling it would be to pull a gun on him and give him a: "Well isn't this just a 18-carat run of bad luck." Only to laugh and tell him it's all gonna be alright. She would love to play savior here. Bundle him up, get a robot to drag him from the mud and care for the poor little guy... It could get downright domestic/fluff when he's taken back to the strip. I think she has a soft spot for him even if he fails to "complete" her the way she thinks he can. He can't, but maybe it would help to have a flesh and blood friend/partner to talk to - if you let her she'd only communicate with robotic creatures for the rest of her time and stick to quick trysts that mean very little outside scratching an itch but with him it's different. This "Connection" is a big thing to her, an Achilles heel - so this time she might ask Benny something dangerous; "Hold me will ya?" And how well that goes is up to your interpretation of Benny. He might be a rat and try to steal the whole thing out from under her, or maybe he likes having her at his side - even if she can be a little unpredictable or emotionally driven. Maybe it's endearing, maybe he just thinks he can control that fire. Either way, they're fun to think about.

Well... I have two of them so ig I can talk about Boyd since I draw a lot of him. (Ambrose the Half-Zapper will have content I promise!)

TW: Slavery, Racism, Violence against POC, Blood and Bad hand-writing + bad grammar. (Friendly reminder! I AM NOT in favor of these types of behavior keep in mind this is for lore only. Also mentions of friends OCs who don't have a tumblr for different reasons.)

Boyd worked as an slave to harvest corn and be the carpenter for a wealthy family, all his life he was scorned and abused in various ways by its owner who had enough of him and sell him by a rich guy who thought he needed a personal slave to do things for him.

Boyd despises his new owner who was even worst than his previous one. If it wasn't for 4 men who had enough of the rich guy. One of them snapping out when he rich guy beat Boyd beacuse for an little accident. That man had enough and punched him repeatedly, Boyd was confused of how that man saved him form his owner and run away despite him being injured. After a long time the same man who punched his owner, who was there to help him. Boyd wasn't sure but he dosn't trust white men but this guy was different, he heal him and give him food. Along side his other friends arrived and they also helped Boyd. He never felt so comfortable with white men around but these guys seem to actually treat him like he was one of them.

One day, Boyd and a lot of Marines find a member of the 1st Infantry Regiment who had his head open, he didn't say to much other than scream about how his fellow armymen and a army of Redcoats where decapitated by a Hassian. A lot of them thinked he was crazy but Boyd and his new friends help him with his injury and decided to investigate. Leading to what happend in Road to Sleepy Hallow and Sleepy Hallow, (and yes the 1st Infantry Regiment soilder is the American Ferryman).

A time pass and Boyd, the 4 men and the guy who took care of, now becoming part of the Marines and a Redcoat member who survive the attack of the Headless horseman received a card. William H. Crawford needed to left Roscoff due a plage that was devastating the continent of Europe. And so the 7 Marines go to Old Europe to save Crawford form that plage.

-he’s an only child by birth. very unused to sibling behaviors which makes him an Avery Hater at first

-but she did lowkey save his life so you know

-his left foot doesn’t work all that well, due to being mechanical and remotely powered off. he can walk but it’s stilted (nico is working on it, though!)

-he can’t talk. like physically can’t. the operation that put the screen over his face also lowkey destroyed it. there was a catastrophic uh, mishap before they connected his vocal cords, and they got kinda messed up and do not work. not that he has a mouth anymore anyhow

-he likes to play video games. used to be super into competitive shooters but avery is getting him into persona and pokémon

-on that same note, his full name is Emerson. mercy is his gamertag and the only thing nico/avery knew to call him when they first found him and they hadn’t rigged his text box.

Hello! This might be a dumb question but why is the 27th Pretty Boy Day? I swear there’s some kind of pun involved but I’m not 100% sure

At first, I thought it was plain goroawase - nan does indeed come from nana (7). However, there's no "bi" in goroawase - the closest is "hi" (1), but hinan (避難) means "evacuation", so 17 seems a bit in bad taste. (In my opinion, anyway.) That's probably why they picked the 27th instead.

So I took a look at how "Binanshi" is written in the original Japanese language - turns out it's one of those irregular assigned readings (indicated by the katakana in the YouTube short), which is why 日 isn't normally read as "shi"- it can be read "ka", "nichi", "hi" and "jitsu" though. (That would also explain why the "shi" doesn't become 4.)

So TL;DR: they probably started with "Binan no Hi" (美男の日) and squashed it together to create "Binanshi".
