Got experimental. Mixed thoughts on the results, but it was fun.
The Promised Neverland is very good.

Each time I think about how they took out the Goldy Pond arc, I get so angry. Cause like not only was it a good ass arc, getting rid of it takes out something integral to the story as a whole, that I just don’t think they realized/cared about:
The validation of Emma’s beliefs.
Emma is established to be this happy-go-lucky character right? And as the children are still in Grace Field, you see that she still keeps this demeanor while juggling the new graveness of the situation she is in. While losing some of her naivety, she still shows herself capable of being someone hopeful for the future who will not let her circumstances get the better of her. The most important part of what makes this WORK for her character (instead of making it annoying and unrealistic) is the fact that she both acknowledged and experiences the tragedy of the world she is trying to be hopeful in. It’s not some little girl being like “I believe everything’s gonna be fine! Sparkles and rainbows!” while being shielded from the darker parts of the world. It’s a little girl who looks in the face of the darkness and that terrible world and is in the MIDST of it. It’s a little girl who found the dead body of her younger sibling and was faced with the reality that her whole life was a lie. It’s a little girl who realized her whole family was going to die and fought to grab onto her hope despite how overwhelmingly bleak their situation was. She knew and yet she didn’t hesitate to believe that they could escape. She knew and still wanted to yell to the world that she was going to save EVERYONE. Seeing someone so unwaveringly hopeful even after being hit with devastating loss and despair is like a beacon for anyone else struggling to keep surviving. Emma is lovable for how she loves—how her hope and determination stands fast in the face of adversity and still goes forward even as more events threaten to shake and bend it.
For whatever reason season 2 was changed the way it was (I’ve heard many things)(if it was because of the guns then WHY pick up the anime in the first place bc you derail EVERYTHING) it could never stand completely without Goldy Pond.
Goldy Pond is in plain terms Emma’s defining arc. It seems to be pushing forward a question whose answer will define the rest of the series.
“Who is Emma?”
Not as she is with her siblings. Not as she is when there is her family there to keep her going. Who is Emma, and how will she grow from here on out?
Goldy Pond is the first time Emma is “alone”. She has none of her siblings around her and she is in an unfamiliar environment, with people she does not know. People by all means unconnected to her when she has a family to get back to and protect.
But Emma doesn’t treat them that way. She cares for each stranger she meets, jeopardizing her safety by using herself as bait—by charging forward into battle to protect them and change the demons’ focus. As the arc progresses and she meshes herself into the other children’s ranks, treating them as family as well, it seems to be clear what the answer is. As she serves as a distraction in this main fight. As she reminds them of details of HOW they can win this fight even when there seems to be no hope left. When she gets empaled and STILL takes a shot to kill Duke Leuvis.
Emma is hopeful and kind and self-sacrificing. She treats strangers as she would treat her family, and cares for all lives the same. She is so overwhelmingly forthright and sincere in her emotions and love, that you can’t help but want to support and follow her. That is who Emma is. She is not naive. She has seen death and battle and bleak circumstances but still rises to the challenge EVERY time — and most importantly this time was the bleakest so far. This time she was “ALONE”.
She has the experience behind her to make her care for all things “valid”. This is not a silly, childish little girl not knowing all the different aspects of her declarations. She says they will survive and you can take her for her word because she knows what it’s like to be near death. But specifically and more crucially for Goldy Pond (and therefore the rest of the series): Emma says that she wants to save demons. And with Goldy Pond, you can take her word for it.
When Norman declares that his way of saving everyone is to have a demon genocide, the most important part of this is that we as the readers support Emma and her viewpoint (that the demons should not be killed.) Her viewpoint is valid in the manga because of what she has gone through. Emma says she wants to save demons and we can take her for her word because she has experience at the hands of some of the worst cruelty from demons possible. She and other children were hunted for sport. She was placed in a mockery of a sanctuary and hunted down for demons entertainment—not for the demon’s hunger or survival but for FUN. And she still turns around and says that she believes there are GOOD demons.
Without this, Emma has nothing in her experience for her to stand toe to toe with Norman’s beliefs. She looks like a naive, silly child trying to justify a foolish dream when she has experienced nothing of the world. It’s practically an insult to Norman and his experiences and it doesn’t give off what it should to the watcher. How are we supposed to believe in Emma (and go against a GENOCIDE) when it seems as if the writers want to paint that the genocide is the reasonable answer (when it fucking ISNT). And this is all because without Goldy Pond, Emma doesn’t have the experience to be meaningfully hopeful. She can’t properly value her positive experience with Mujika because she doesn’t not have a big enough negative experience to weight it against (and gracefield isn’t good enough bc Norman has gone through more than that). For Emma to have weight, she needs to be able to weight the good and the bad and STILL choose good. To still choose to be hopeful and caring.
Getting rid of Goldy Pond got rid of such an important foundation of Emma as a character and I can never forgive them for that.

Thinking about making a promised neverland fic with an original character. It would start around 20 years or so? after the first promise and this original character would be a demon. The main reason for the fic would be to build the world and more closely examine the demon side of things that we didn't really get to see a lot of even with the manga.
Some ideas for the oc:
she witnesses the world order slowly build as well as the shaping of the castes and the farming system
she struggles to find a way to provide for her siblings
her mother sacrificed her body as food for them
she started letting her siblings feed off of her
introduces and elaborates on the religion of the demon god, which she learns from traveling "monks" who are being prosecuted for the spreading of this religion (how she learns about the promise, which is also why they were being hunted down)
she is the one who paints the mural on the ceiling in the demon temple
One of my favorite ideas for this is that she makes a second promise!
she makes a second promise to protect her siblings but extended it to protect the rest of the demons who have been slowly deteriorating because of the food control
"a way for the lower caste to survive" is what she wishes for
she was a looter of the farms when they were still being set up and the kinks of security weren't fully worked out -> when it increased she could no longer get food for them
the price of the promise was that she was forever bound to the demon god's servitude - she would be the one who would save the demons but could not do so for a very long time
the demon god trapped her in the seven walls until she was to be reborn again
Her second life:
in a demon orphanage
had a lot of young demon children deteriorating and attacking each other bc of the limited food supply (that is even lesser in the orphanage than in the outside society)
when the demons accidentally bite her and consume her blood, it reveals similar capabilities to mujika (who hasn't been born yet)
they sell her blood to make money for the orphanage
rumors spread, she gains followers, gets captured by duke leuvis and he gives her to the queen -> which is how he becomes archduke over his siblings
they kill and eat her
Her third life:
mujika's twin
rather short life, when mujika and the clan get attacked mujika escapes and she dies
would examine mujika's character more deeply as well as focus on the different villages helped by them as they transverse the world
Fourth life:
lines up with canon, she is reborn as a human child in one of the farms
have not decided, maybe glory bell? (gives a chance to examine the glory bell characters and how they escaped as well as their events in goldy pond)
gives a chance to understand the humans through the eyes of a demon (how the body changes, the culture changes)
and how a demon grows to care more about humans (since demons and their happiness were her priority)(remember she ate humans in her first life)

ROKH Spring/Summer RTW 2022 - part 2 / Grand Duke Leuvis 2022
~~~
Several outfits of this particular collection literally screamed “Leuvis” to me - leather, many unnecessary belts and a fancyness that this demon guy radiates 24/7. So I changed the colours a bit (brown is really not Leuvis’ colour) and made some changes and tadahh - finally he got another outfit. Was about time.
One of my favorite parts in The Promised Neverland manga was Nous and Nouma. It was the first time we - and the children - got to realize that the demons aren’t just monsters like we thought. Unfortunately anime watchers will not see this so let me recap it
Siblings Nous and Nouma (from the noble bloodline house of Noum) hunt children in a hunting sport ground made for demons called Goldy Pond, on Lord Bayon’s land. As Bayon owns one of the high level meat farm facilities, he’s able to “illegally” obtain children for Goldy Pond’s sport hunting. After the hunting, the children who are caught are prepared as dinner.
(Here’s Lord Bayon, sport hunting the children)
To make things more fun and interesting for the demons, Lord Bayon and Grand Duke Leuvis provide children in Goldy Pond medical care and weapons. Some of the children have lived and survived 3 times a week happening sport hunting for years and are now planning an uprising against the hunters; Lord Bayon, Grand Duke Leuvis, Luce, Nous and Nouma.
As Bayon and Leuvis are one of the most badass of these five demons, the kids go first after Luce and Nous & Nouma.
They manage to kill Nouma first from the demon siblings. Of course, Nous is nearby and sees it all.
The kids are absolutely shocked to see Nous cry. Like, you are a demon. You’re not supposed to have feelings or be able to love. You’re not supposed to be anything but a heartless monster and here is Nous, devastated that he has lost his beloved sister Nouma.
Not to mention Nous goes absolutely ballistic after Nouma’s death and becomes even harder for the kids to kill. He has nothing to lose anymore.
(Nous calls Nouma his beloved so readers assumed they were a couple, but it was later revealed that they’re siblings. Of course, it was never mentioned whether demons had ancient Egyptian royalty type of marriage arrangement possibility, where siblings married each other, or not. Most likely not)
I’m SO SAD we didn’t get to see this tipping point where the kids and the reader go “....Wait a minute...Can demons love? They aren’t that different from us?”
Leuvis's Hunting [Fanfic]
The day Sonju was taken hunting in Goldy Pond was the day he finally understood his brother.
"Are you sure he'll be alright?"
Lord Bayon underestimated Sonju's hearing. The young Prince listened as the aristocrat whispered to Leuvis, his brother.
"I wouldn't have brought him here if I didn't think so, Bayon," said Leuvis, slightly irritated. Palvus the monkey-demon chittered on his shoulder.
"Well…"
Lord Bayon was nervous about more than just that. His eyes lingered on the young outsider. Sonju was a prince, third in line to the throne and Leuvis’s younger brother, and Bayon knew him well enough to know his loyalties, but the change to his centuries-long hunting party unsettled him.
Sonju understood. They hunted live humans, bought and shipped to Bayon’s doorstep, and ate them together with the finest wines the lord could provide. They stole the rightful property of premium farms for their own pleasure; had done for centuries. If his sister, the Queen, found out, her fury alone would kill them all.
The young prince grinned. Bayon had nothing to fear. Legravalima disapproved of many things, including Sonju himself. An opportunity to defy her was the most delectable meat of all.
He recalled the night he left the palace. There Leuvis stood, shrouded in the darkness of the doorway, the glow of his lamp flickering in his black eyes.
“Come,” he said. “Tomorrow you hunt with me.”
These words echoed in Sonju’s mind as the hunters ventured underground: Leuvis, Bayon, Bayon’s servants, Luce, Luce’s servants, Nous, Nouma and himself. The party left Bayon’s estate far behind, their eyes trained on the paradise below.
A forest awaited them up ahead, deep and dark. The artificial sun had only just risen, glimmering red between the trees. It got Sonju’s blood pumping.
“So, when the music starts, the hunt begins?” he asked, drawing his brother’s attention.
Bayon was looking at him again. He could feel his eyes on the back of his neck.
“Exactly,” Leuvis replied, idly scratching Palvus behind the ears. “And when it ends, so does the hunt.”
“I can’t wait!” hissed Luce, slavering uncontrollably. “I can’t wait - hurry! It’s starting soon, hurry!” He was a runtish, yapping demon with a rabble of underlings clambering at his heels. Sonju looked down at him and questioned Bayon’s wisdom.
“I want a juicy fat one!” cried Nous, licking his thin, black lips.
“A young one!” said Nouma.
“What about you, your Highness?” Bayon asked.
"Uh…"
Sonju hadn’t been particular about his targets before. It was arrogant, it was wrong.
“Whatever Brother decides,” he replied finally. This seemed fair - Leuvis was the one who had brought him here, after all.
Leuvis chuckled. “A good answer, indeed.”
“He shall teach you much,” said Bayon, nodding appreciatively. “I daresay you could not find a better teacher.”
“Please, Bayon, no flattery,” Leuvis sighed. “I hear enough of it at court.”
"I mean it."
At that moment, a high, jangling tune pierced the air. It was faint and distant, but unmistakable to their sensitive ears. Luce let out a rebel yell and bounded away with his gang.
Nous and Nouma split away too, their wiry black forms melting into the darkness.
Bayon and Leuvis stood very still, listening.
“There shall be several out at this hour, gathering food,” Bayon mused. “With any luck, there will be prime cuts amongst the offal.”
“One can hope,” said Leuvis. “Good hunting, Bayon.”
Bayon nodded and took a right. “Good hunting, Leuvis, Prince Sonju."
He disappeared into the forest.
Sonju felt Leuvis’s bony hand on his shoulder.
“Come, little brother. Our time is limited.”
"Yes, sir."
Leuvis strode purposefully forward. Sonju followed, eager to keep pace with him. The young prince had been excited with many a tale of Leuvis’s part in the war, long ago. The Grand Duke could not replace the teacher Sonju lost, but no hunter alive was his equal.
Screams echoed from the direction Luce had gone, tangled with the lord's ugly laugh.
"He's fast," said Sonju.
"The fool would dine on blind newborns if he found them," Leuvis muttered.
The young prince wasn't surprised.
“Almost all the humans that live here are rabbits, Sonju,” his brother went on. “Weak, frightened things, unable to do anything but run on feeble little legs. What passion can a hunter find in that?”
They walked further through the forest. A screaming female child shot across their path without even noticing them. Sonju started forward, but Leuvis pulled him back. Seconds later, Luce and his band came shrieking after her.
"Get her! Get her, boys!"
Leuvis sighed and let go. “For heavens’ sake. Come, Sonju.”
The brothers continued on for a few minutes in silence before Leuvis slowed to a stop. He lifted the brim of his hat as he cast his eyes to the dark canopy above.
“How many do you sense, little brother?”
Sonju concentrated. Four. No, five humans. Their presences were mildly sensitive to the demons’ sensation, coming stronger from the left. They were perfectly immobile, each spread a certain distance apart from one another - except for one.
“Five, Brother,” said Sonju. “Waiting.”
A grin creaked between the plates of Leuvis’s mask. “Not hiding?”
“Unlikely,” said Sonju, frowning. “They're too evenly spread out - almost a perfect circle. There's one I'm not sure about - it's further away.”
Leuvis pressed his shoulder, showing all his teeth in a fierce grin. “Wonderful. We may hunt tigers yet!”
He nudged the prince in the direction of their targets.
“Surprise them, little brother."
“What about you?”
“I’ll be along,” Leuvis replied. “Good hunting.”
Sonju beamed. “Good hunting, Brother.”
Slipping into the undergrowth, spear in hand, the young prince trained his senses on his yet-unseen targets. None of them had budged an inch from their positions, and he was convinced that they lay in ambush.
He took a deep, slow breath. He had to treat this like any other hunt. Forget what his brother was doing, what the others were doing.
They were close now. Strangely, one human remained much farther than the others.
Sonju frowned. If this was an ambush, why would one detach themselves from the group? Was it just a hiding child, unrelated to the others? No. Sonju stopped and focused. No, this human was still in the immediate area. Yet its presence was faint.
He twitched. No. It wasn’t distance that made it faint - it was height. A lookout, perhaps, or a sniper.
Anticipation bubbling in his gut, Sonju crept forward. If he got this one first, their plan would suffer a heavy blow. Maybe even collapse.
A bony hand pressed his shoulder. Sonju turned slightly to see the Grand Duke crouched by his side, keeping to the shadows of the trees.
“What’re you waiting for, little brother?” he whispered.
Sonju lifted his head and pointed. “There’s one up high, right there. If I go any closer, it’ll spot me.”
“Very good,” said Leuvis. “Now what will you do?”
“I’m going to bring it down.”
“Oh?” Sonju could hear the amusement in his brother’s voice. “From this distance?”
“Yeah. I can do it.”
He reached behind to take his bow, but stopped. Under his brother's watchful eyes, he lifted his spear.
"I'll use this."
“You will be giving your prey a weapon with which to hunt you, little brother,” Leuvis warned, but there was a gleam in his eyes.
He was right. Not only that, but an arrow would more surely and easily find its mark.
Sonju smiled. His brother's excitement was infectious. “Well, that’ll make things more interesting, won’t it?”
Leuvis stared for a good few seconds before stifling a laugh. “I like it. Go!”
The prince shifted his position, shuffling left and right as he peered through the thick foliage for his target.
Finally, he saw her. A female - young, no more than ten years of age - perched on a high branch up ahead. She held a rifle in her hands, poised and ready.
Sonju took aim.
The girl never knew what hit her. The spearhead sliced through the trees and cut straight through her neck, severing the head. Screams filled the air as her body tipped and fell.
Sonju dashed forward, the thrill of success pumping through his body. He heard the girl’s body hit the ground and the panicked scattering of feet.
She was key to their plan. Now they have nothing.
He reached a clearing, where the girl’s body lay headless and bleeding. The surviving children were spreading out in all directions. No matter - Sonju would find them all.
Charging forward, he heard a snap. In the seconds it took to react, his leg was snatched out from under him and his world flipped upside down and he was yanked into the air.
Sonju forced his head up, dizzy from the shock.
“What the--?”
His leg was tied by a long piece of rope, fastened onto a spry tree branch bending overhead.
He was snared like a rabbit.
There was a terrible howl, and Sonju looked to see a dark-skinned boy running full pelt towards him with Sonju’s spear in his hands. The hate in his eyes shocked Sonju into action.
Using all his weight, Sonju swung himself as hard as he could. When he was high enough, he threw out his arms and slashed the rope with his nails. He dropped and landed hard on his side, coughing as dust flew up. With the boy steps away, the prince kicked up dirt and used the seconds it spared to rise and lunge.
The boy screamed, but not from fear. Hatred, anguish, the cry of victory lost. He knew it was over.
The battle, if it could be called that, was over. The boy lay dead at Sonju's feet.
The prince inspected his prey curiously. He could be no older than the female he killed. His hands were bloody, and the blood stained the shaft of Sonju’s spear.
Leuvis came out from the trees, chuckling. “That was quite the spectacle."
“I was careless,” Sonju muttered, his face reddening.
“Indeed," said the elder. "But you’ve hunted nothing but rabbits since you could throw a spear. It’s no wonder.”
Sonju knelt and rummaged in his pouch.
“The others are getting away,” said Leuvis, merely pointing out a fact rather than urging his brother on.
“It’ll only take a minute.”
Sonju picked out a Vida flower, its petals closed and pale. He looked at the boy and remembered the murderous look on his face. He had aimed to kill. Abandoned by his friends, he alone stood to fight.
The stem pierced his heart, and the flowers opened, flushing red with the life the gods had created.
In the quiet, he remembered his teacher’s words: “Never forget what it means to hunt life.”
“It’s been a long time since I’ve seen anyone do that,” Leuvis remarked. “How nostalgic.”
“I’m returning what I borrowed,” said Sonju, standing.
His brother came closer, circling the body. Sonju could see the pure, animal glee in his face. “You saw his eyes too, yes? That was a tiger you killed.”
Leuvis bent down and put a hand on the boy’s still chest. “It was short-lived, and foolish, but you showed my brother human spirit. My thanks.”
Sonju, who had never seen this brother thank anyone sincerely before, could only stare.
“Come,” said Leuvis. “Your prey is escaping.”
The prince resumed the hunt, but as he picked each child off, one by one, his suspicions were confirmed. Without their leaders, the sniper girl and the boy, their camaraderie disintegrated. They sabotaged one another, screamed and cried, and ran as fast as their legs could take them. It was so easy, Sonju had time to plant a Vida flower in each body before the music stopped.
Leuvis followed Sonju without a word. He didn’t bother to do more than hang back, in perfect view of the fleeing prey. He didn’t care that the children soiled themselves at the sight of him and ran half-mad into the arms of death. He didn't care for their screams, or their desperate acts of self-preservation. They didn’t even reflect in his eyes.
The last boy dropped to the ground and buried his face in his hands, unable or unwilling to move. Sonju stepped forward. Leuvis, who was reclining against a nearby tree, turned his face away.
“Watch me, Brother,” said Sonju, annoyed.
“My own blood, putting down a half-dead rabbit? Spare me the sight.”
Sonju raised his spear and struck. The boy never moved again.
As he prepared the Vida flower, Leuvis spoke. The weariness in his voice made Sonju pause and listen.
“See what we’ve been reduced to, little brother,” he said. “Hunting mewling infants. In my youth I battled warriors. I was feared and hated, but my foes fought me for everything they had and everything I took from them. I responded in kind, and my very blood sang with joy. I am feared and hated still, but if my infamy cannot return the thrill of those days - what good is it? Damnit boy, put that away!”
In a rush of wind, Leuvis closed in, snatched the flower from Sonju's fingers and crushed it under his foot.
“Stop!” Sonju screamed. “Brother, stop!”
Palvus hissed. Its master was unrepentant. “How can you have pride, bestowing such a thing on lives so pitiful?”
“It’s not about pride!” Sonju shouted. “It’s about humility!”
“You feel no shame? That one you killed wasn’t even a rabbit. It was fodder.”
“It was a life!” cried Sonju. “All life has value - and deserves respect!”
Leuvis laughed a short, bitter laugh, and Sonju realised how angry he was. “Oh, dear, pious brother of mine, how I disagree!”
“Remove your foot now!”
“I suppose your teacher taught you these things,” said Leuvis. “The old ways. That’s why he died.”
Sonju’s hands shook. “He was murdered.”
“He was a fool,” said Leuvis quietly. “Now you practise a dead religion in the stead of a dead man, on unworthy fodder, in a world that rewards faith with death! Do you not see how pointless it is?”
That’s when Sonju struck. Howling, he lunged, spear-point for his brother’s eyes. Leuvis sprang back laughing out of Sonju’s range. He stood like the shadow of death itself in the red sunlight, smirking.
He had the Vida flower in his fingers.
“Take it back!” Sonju panted.
“Hum?”
“Take back what you said about him!”
“What’s this? A brother’s quarrel?”
It was Bayon. The lord approached from the trees between the two brothers, casting curious glances at their faces.
“'Tis indeed,” said Leuvis. “Stay back, Bayon. My little brother is quite angry.”
He turned his attention to Sonju, slowly twisting the Vida’s stem between his fingertips. He then pierced the stem through his cloak until only the flowers were visible.
“How about this? If you manage to take this flower from my person, I will retract my words.”
Sonju set his jaw and readied his spear. “Fine. And what do I give you?”
His brother’s eyes gleamed. “A fight.”
TPN ch171
(spoilers because that’s what we do here)
So we’re starting this.. interesting chapter with our lousy villain running for his sad life. Can’t rely on more backup? Good. Being cornered by armed women at almost every turn? Fantastic. This boy is panicking and I’m loving it. Especially this moment because the demons are just like, “im sorry, you want us to do.. what exactly?” It’s just a quick funny panel admist all this chaos.
Speaking of armed women, I completely forgot about this detail. They’re hearts are chipped and could all easily be killed by the push of a button. That would put the kids at such a big disadvantage, as they would lose their newly formed backup. Well, all except Isabella, who had her chip removed upon being promoted to Grandma. So, huge thanks to Vincent & the others for shutting down the system so we don’t encouter this problem! It also leads me to think that perhaps that was the moment when Isabella told the other women about her betrayal. She sees these woman as equals, so I doubt she would’ve asked them for their cooperation if their lives were that greatly at risk. Sure, their lives are still hanging by a thread, but at least they won’t lose them with a flick of a switch.
Enough about that. Let’s shift to a villain worth our time! Oh yes, Grand Duke Lewis (Leuvis? which is correct darn it) makes his grand return.. somehow. Did he regenerate and flee? Does he have a second core perhaps? Who knows, they don’t dwell on that fact long so we unfortunetly don’t get a straight answer. But he’s back and alive.. “unintentionally.” Did you not want to come back? Please explain yourself, sir, because your sudden appearance had my mouth hanging open in disbelief a few days ago!
Whatever the reason why he returned, he certainly isn’t happy. These low life demons suddenly believe they have power? Power that was given to them by a mere a human? How shameful. (btw all of faces palvus makes are a treat)
At this point, I’m still thinking our favorite poacher is still up to no good. He attacks Sonju and drinks some of the cursed blood, which sends the crowd into a panic. After all, they’re here to witness the execution of Musica & Sonju, so they were probably thinking they would now have to do the same to Lewis as well. I thought things would only get worse, but then he.. tells the truth about the blood to the demon citizens?
The Queen & royals were greedy and wanted total control over everyone else, and surprisingly, Lewis wasn’t fond of it. By saying the blood is toxic and those with it should be killed, they lied and ruled over the people with fear. They took advantage of that and earned big profits from the farms, since normal demons need to rely on human meat to keep their form. However, eating such meat is only a temporary fix and not everyone could afford that.
I’m honestly just as surprised Sonju to hear Lewis speak such truths. This was the poacher who enjoyed hunting children for his own amusement. Now we see him acting a bit selfless and thinking about others. Granted, it’s his own race, but I never imagined we would see this, hmm, softer side of him? Lewis doesn’t want the demons to starve nor depend on humans in any way, shape or form in order to survive. Because that would be shameful.
It really isn’t like him at all. However, with the royals now gone, there’s no way Lewis would allow mere humans to rule over the demons. His undying hatred towards the weak species wouldn’t allow it. Due to the cursed blood, the crowd originally wouldn’t accept Sonju to rule over them, so Lewis would be the next reasonable choice. As unintentionally as it may be, he steps up because he wants the best for the demons. No more fighting. No more suffering. (can i chalk this up as another result of emma’s influence? because yes)
And boy, does he step up. Real quick and with purpose too. Not only does he stop the exectution of Musica & Sonju, he also orders the arrest of the current leaders and government. Bravo sir! That’s just several things we don’t have to worry about anymore.
After all that craziness, we head back to the lousy villain. He learns that he no longer has any support in the capital city. He then recalls when Anna unwillingly told him about the promised Emma made. With no more backup and the children so close to escaping, he feels as if he has truly lost.. though that doesn’t mean he will go down easily. When the raws came out at first, I originally thought the final panel implied that the promise would take Emma’s life (which i still fear). With the translations now, I see that Peter’s thoughts are correct and much worse. Killing Emma would be the equivalent of taking down the queen and/or king in a game of chess. The most powerful and adaptable piece along with the leader. Without her, the kids would probably lose all hope, their bright future would cease to exist and they would certainly lose this war.
I’m not sure how Peter plans on killing her, unless he’s hiding a gun somewhere on his person, but here’s hoping the story doesn’t take that turn. If it does, I seriously hope none of the kids come in out of nowhere and take the bullet for her instead either. I wish for no more pain! As for Emma holding this boy at gunpoint, I don’t think she would kill him. Perhaps maim or seriously injure, but never kill. (i have many words about who might go that far that ill save for another post in the future)
Sounds like it’s the best case scenario. Demons are happy, Humans are happy and everything is good.
And now the farms are abolished so technically Emma and the others actually might not need to go to the human world.
Then again, there are still demons that might want to eat them. But they’re friends with Mujika and Sonju so maybe they could be protected. Either way, they’re going to the human world so it doesn’t matter.
