Shirai and Posuka's answers to fan questions: Pt. 3
The final part?... Or not!
They've received so many questions that they've decided to publish more answers from each three parts.
Look forward to future updates!

Did Leuvis even know the kids were escaping to the human world when he announced to abolish all the farms?
Imagine he was hoping to hunt naturally but then was met by disappointment 💀

Leuvis: Murder doesn't hurt anyone.
Leuvis: You can ask anyone who has been murdered and they literally have nothing to say on the topic. It clearly doesn't matter to them.
Emma:
Emma: MAYBE BECAUSE THEY'RE FUCKING DEAD??

so i'm finally full swing into the goldy pond arc once more and id really like to talk about leuvis. this is honestly gonna be more of a ramble of my feelings than some deep analysis so take it with a grain of salt but- anyways.
i really enjoy his character in every single sense. one of the best and most compelling things that the promised neverland does as a series is show intentions. it teaches you to look at someone and say "why are they doing this?" it has a million incredible concepts i would love to talk about, but this has always been my favorite exploration in Any media type. my personal favorite thing about the promised neverland is that it shows that morality is ambiguous, and no one is truly good or evil.
sure isabella is trading the kid's lives for her own, but what other option is there, really? if you were in her place could you honestly say that you would rather give your life than fight to survive? i couldn't
peter ratri is definitely a bit harder to defend, because he is made out to be a hardcore villain from the get-go, going as far to make it canon that he admired the decision his ancestor made to trade his comrades in the promise. but even then, we get to see his perspective. we get to see that he wasn't looking at this as some badass cold-blooded thing. he was looking at this through the eyes of a kid who's entire life has revolved around being groomed to keep this promise. he saw what his ancestor did as a noble sacrifice to save the whole world, not a cold blooded betrayal to save himself
anyways- i'm getting totally off track back to leuvis KJWDKWJ
the reason i love him so much is because- when you look at it in retrospect- he isn't an inherently evil character. he is by all literal definitions an antagonist, and clearly not the one to root for as a reader. but the way i see it, it isn't morally wrong for him to want to eat and even hunt the humans. sure he must recognize that their intelligence is (generally) at the same level, but, at the end of the day, he's still higher on the food chain. even though i feed my cat everyday, he still goes out and catches birds and mice. it's just a predator's nature.
i would honestly say the only thing that really brings him from morally grey to more in the black zone is when we eventually find out that he doesn't actually Need to eat people to keep his intelligence. because it's one thing to eat them for the sake of your mind and body, but it's another entirely to eat them just for the hell of it. that said, though, i still wouldn't say he was evil for that. he's done some evil things, but, to him, goldy pond is the same as the deer hunting club my dad is in. y'know?
i hope this makes sense and i'm not just out here sounding like a fucking fool KAHDKDEK

Somewhat stretching definitions here but whatever
Plugging my Lambda Phil AU and Norman Ratri & Peter musings because while I think Norman has way too much going on in canonto through another convoluted layer onto to it I absolutely love the thought of Peter taking a more direct, hands-on approach to interacting with him to contrast with the less dysfunctional parent-child relationship Emma and Ray have with Lucas and Yuugo.
While Mujika and Sonju both have a shared conflict with Legravalima that could be expanded upon, Sonju's individual one with her felt like more of an asspull, whereas Mujika's one could reasonably predict the angle of earlier.
Pictures below the cut:

We should give The Promised Neverland an award for just,, letting Lucas not have an arm
No "robot arm that's the same or better than a regular arm", no "I got it back by magic or something", he just doesn't have it. And that's ok. And he's still a valued family member. And he can still fight when the need arises. We need more of that in fiction tbh.
