You guys met through a mutual friend

They had invited you both to their house to hang out, so you guys were just kind of chilling

Neil was a bit shy at first, but he quickly saw that you were actually really cool

He had way more fun at the hangout because of you; he knew he had to see you again

The more time you spent together, the more Neil started to realize that his infatuation was more than just platonic

So, one day, Neil asks if your next hangout can be a date

He’s sooo nervous and shy about it, but when you say yes he smiles hugely

He goes all-out for your first date: a romantic picnic with flowers and rosé and everything

You guys discover that this, unfortunately, is NOT your vibe

Future dates are much more casual, and consequently much more successful

Just hanging out, doing something mundane like watching movies or playing video games or (trying) to bake cookies—that’s where you guys really connect

Occasionally you will go out together, but it’s never fancy

Dinner and a movie at the most; usually just a concert or a mall trip though

You guys behave a lot like friends, but make no mistake, you’re much more than that

Neil is a touch shy when showing physical affection; but he’s not really opposed to it either

You’ll just have to initiate it if you want something more than a hand on your waist/arm around your shoulders

Because that’s as far as he’ll go; he wants to respect your boundaries

And there’s at least one of you sleeping/napping

He’s not trying to be creepy, he just thinks you look amazing all the time and he wants to remember every time he thinks to himself “wow, they’re gorgeous”

If it wasn’t obvious by now, his love language is quality time

The causal nature of your dates mean that they happen frequently, often on a whim

Neil is always glad to spend time with you, no matter what you’re doing, and no matter how long you’re doing it

THE SLEEPY DOTTORE ASK MADE ME GIGGLE BECAUSE YES IT'S SO SOFT BUT... STINKY DOTTORE IS CANON I HATE IT BUT I CANNOT DENY IT.. (insert overexaggerated sad depressed anime expression with a single tear) although i will 100% take this opportunity to imagine scrubbing his hair with shampoo and slowly nudging a rubber duckie into the bathtub until it plops into the bath and slowly floats in front of him.... giggling

also i think overall you'd have to keep him entertained (like scrubbing his back and taking extra care of him) while waiting for the conditioner to set in because if you slack while waiting for it he will get, So Impatient so gotta save a majority of the pampering until then... Like dottore bbg ily but your hair will get dried out without conditioner (also he WILL probably end up splashing the water onto you if he gets even a little bored so make sure to have a change of clothes afterwards.. help this bastard man i am caressing him dearly.) You cant leave him alone in the bath you are the enrichment in his enclosure (idk if this is mischaracterization but i believe dottore can have a little sillyness... as a treat) - 🎈

STINKY DOTTORE 😭😭 Well it's okay because after the bath he actually smells quite nice and his hair is the fluffiest thing possible. And OMG I never thought about that but it's so cute... 💖 I bet some times this man is itching to get out of the bath and just go do the many things he has to do. But you're dragging it out and adding all this stuff to his hair, which he never even uses by himself (you scold him for that) So you gotta keep him occupied whether that's by telling him a bunch of things at once or letting him rant about his experiments or his fellow co-workers while you just get to work getting him clean. And he definitely splashes water onto you because he thinks it's funny to see you mad... Ah I'm just imagining Dottore looking like a wet cat, hair clinging to his face when you finally wash all of the stuff out!
