Misunderstandings ThorBruce
A/N: So this is really cheesy as fuck and I was just thinking about some revengers adventures.
The reason for Thor’s peculiar behavior was probably due to cabin fever, Bruce assumed. For the past few weeks, the revengers were cooped on their new space ship, meandering around from galaxy to galaxy, checking on Asgardian refugees that scattered around the galaxy.
Often, Thor would whisper things to Loki, causing his brother to chuckle. Which should not be odd, because normally Thor would let him in on the joke. But this time he wasn’t included like Thor was keeping a secret. There were also moments when Thor would stare at Bruce, but when Bruce looked at him, raising his eyebrows as if to ask Thor what the matter was, Thor would whip his head the opposite direction. It was like he was having a middle school crush, except the two of them had been dating for five years. Even before they dated, Thor never stared at him like that.
Thor would also sigh, as he peered out one of the ship's windows, watching the stars. Thor was usually a vocal man, so all Bruce could do was hope it was cabin fever.
“How long till we get to a different planet?” Bruce asked, hoping for the sake of his boyfriend, the answer would be soon.
They were quite literally on the edge of the universe close to where the universe was expanding. As a scientist, Bruce was proud that he was achieving a large feat in the field of astrophysics. But as a man worried sick for his boyfriend, he wanted to get to solid ground.
Valkyrie was piloting in the seat next to him, and grunted before saying, “It depends which place needs us the most.”
Thor was in another cabin behind the cockpit chatting with Loki, not quite in out of earshot.
Noticing Bruce’s question, he walked into the cockpit and placed a hand on Bruce’s shoulder.
“What’s wrong, Bruce?”
Bruce turned to face Thor, and traced Thor’s face with his eyes, noting each scar, and the scratchy texture of his beard. It was no worse than Bruce’s. Thor’s hair was also grown out like the time they first met when the avengers formed.
Of all the people to be on the edge of the universe with, he was glad it was Thor.
Smiling, at him, Bruce decided it wasn’t best to lie. “I’m just a bit worried.” He didn’t elaborate and Thor never asked him to.
Then with a warm look, Thor leaned over to unbuckle the harness that Bruce was adamant about wearing if Valkyrie piloted. Grabbing Bruce by the hand, he led him out of the cockpit.
After all these years, Thor’s shift from rugged warrior to calm and collected lover, left Bruce warm and fuzzy.
From the corner of his eyes he can see Valkyrie shaking her head, smirking.
In next cabin over, Loki sat on a lounge chair, reading and sipping a tea from an alien planet two galaxies over. Bruce was thankful that Loki was ignoring the both of them holding hands and practically skipping across the ship.
The place they ended up was the private room they both shared. It was supposed to be the largest compartment, but with Thor’s behemoth size it felt cozy. Bruce liked that.
Thor pushed him onto the bed. He was on his back, and Bruce flushed a light green. Instead of what he thought was going to happen, Thor laid on his stomach next to Bruce.
“Tell me more about that theory that the universe is getting bigger.”
Bruce moved from his back onto his side, propping himself up on one of his arms to face Thor.
“Oh that one! Well it was thought up by a midgardian scientist who-” and then Bruce Banner went into his own little world, forgetting about his worries. He described things from the big bang to how the universe, every second, grows atom by atom. Waving the hang he wasn’t laying on, Bruce was too excited to stop.
Thor watched with an ever present smile on his face.
“-and it keeps growing and growing and it never stops meaning that- “
“I will never stop loving you.” Thor grabbed Bruce’s free hand, moving it towards his face, and kissed it, still making eye contact with Bruce. Bruce collapsed into his pillow, defeated and embarrassed. The usual Thor would giggle at his squirming, but at this moment, he continued his staring with earnest, icy blue eyes. His passionate gaze trapped Bruce, who could only stare back.
Getting over his embarrassment, Bruce garnered all his courage, and scooted closer to Thor, pecking him on the lips, feeling the gritty texture of his beard. Thor did not appear fazed from the kiss.
As Thor’s intense gaze continued, and Bruce feathered him with kisses, whispering between each one a tiny ‘I love you’.
It’s funny how Bruce never worshipped a god, until he met Thor.
Days passed since that intimate moment, and Thor’s odd behavior worsened. His staring was more frequent and intense, and the sighing never seemed to stopped. It left Bruce unclear and worried, and he wished he could help.
A small village on an iceberg planet, called for help, and Bruce would have to forget his own worries in favor of hulking out.
When Bruce woke up, he was in a fresh set of clothes in a stranger’s home, on a strange bed. A fireplace burned bright blue flames keeping him warm.
“Thor?” was the first thing he asked.
“I’m right here.” Thor responded, engulfing Bruce in his arms, hugging him. Simultaneously, he was rubbing his back in comforting circles.
“Is everything okay?”
Thor murmured into his shoulder, and buried his face into Bruce’s neck. His hot breathe tickling him.
Letting him go, Bruce asked another question. “How long was I out?”
Thor’s worried expression told him he wasn’t going to like the answer.
“At least two weeks, not counting the two days you slept,” he said, running a gentle hand across Bruce’s cheek and allowed it to rest there. “Why did you think I was going to leave you?”
“Did hulk know?”
Thor nodded. “He sensed something was wrong. Kept saying ‘Banner Scared. How Puny.’ It was cute how he was trying to protect you. It took us a while to convince him everything was okay.”
Thor was still cupping his cheek. “Bruce, my love, why would you think such a thing?”
“You’ve been acting off Thor… I don’t know. It was weird and -”
Dropping his hand, Thor reached into a leather pocket on his thigh. Bruce stopped rambling when, Thor placed a light silver necklace around his neck. He went onto both of his knees, and grasped both of Bruce’s hands.
“Bruce Banner, I, Thor Son of Odin, am submitting myself to you. With no question in my heart, I want to be with you in this life and the next hundred. I ask if I may bind our spirits together in what midgard calls matrimony.” Thor bowed his head. An Asgardian king would only do this to someone who earned it.
Bruce never felt quite as stupid. He realized that all this time Thor was thinking of proposing rather than breaking up.
Still holding Thor’s hands, Bruce left the bed, and went on his knees also. He faced a stunned and flushed Thor.
“Thor, Son of Odin, I, Bruce Banner, am submitting myself to you. I want to spend every life and universe with you. Please, marry me.”
Pulling each other into a kiss, the two lovebirds remained, crouching on the floor of a stranger's home. It was like having the whole universe to themselves. At least until Loki walked in demanding they hurry up. What a fucking mood killer that was.
Weeks later as the revengers strolled into a steady routine, Bruce decided to ask something that had been on his mind since the proposal.
“Thor,” Bruce walked up to him, as he stood near another window, smiling, as he gazing at the stars. “So are we going to have a wedding? I think it would help going back to Earth and having one with all our friends unless you think-”
“Wait.” Thor whipped his head to look at Bruce, his eyes confused and mouth agape.
“I mean would you want like a winter wedding or.. I’m not too sure how Asgardian ceremonies work, but I will be happy to incorporate every ounce of your culture. Speaking of Asgard are we inviting everyone?? Like all of Asgard?? Cause then we would have to like rent out an island and technically we have no money but I’m sure Tony would help out once he finds out we’re engaged and-”
“Engaged? Haven’t we been married this whole time?”
Now it was Bruce’s turn to be shocked. Both men looked at each other, appalled, before falling into laughter.
For Bruce, it was a learning moment, and he hoped that he and Thor could have centuries to continue learning from one another.
They did have a universe to save after all.

Appreciation- Bruce Banner
Summary: Bruce feels like everyone likes Hulk more than him so he runs off to a pizza parlor.
A/N: I’m gonna start a mini series where Bruce Banner learns he is loved
Bruce Banner wasn’t used to attention. Tony drowned in it from media, from fans and from people who hated him. Thor loved it as he found midguardian ways of expressing affection cute.Steve got used to it seeing it has his responsibility to treat fans with kindness and civility. Nat despised it being a private person and a spy on top of that. Clint enjoyed it when it came from his kids.
Bruce Banner, however, was not famous, a god, a symbol of hope, an indifferent spy, and did not have any family. He could be burned into oblivion, and the world,  even those he called his friends, would forget him. That logic only lasted so long with him until he remembered how unfair it was that he could never forget his disgusting brute of a father, yet everyone would forget him if he died. That is if he could die, he really wished he could.
In the Avengers, he would always be in the background to the Hulk, the one everyone saw. He was the one destroying enemies and running over cities with his bare fist. Even Bruce’s background as a genius scientist, provided him no feeling of importance in the group. The avengers could get a whole team of scientists to do what he could. He was a lonely, disposable shell of a man. If the hulk was a bullet, he would be the empty case lying scattered around the scene of the crime.
There would be many Bruce Banners, but only one Hulk.
Because of this logic, he left a party that the city planned to celebrate the Avengers. It was mortifying, almost bringing him back to Sakaar, to see a banner posted on the wall of the venue with every single person on the team except him. In the spot where he should of been, was that big green beast. Fist curled in a ball, with his face lashing out in rage. It wasn’t a pretty picture.
But it wasn’t attention Bruce desired. It was appreciation.
Bruce didn’t hate the Hulk. He was an asset to the team. But it filled him with particular dread thinking of where he had held any importance.
When he realized that the public didn’t like him at all, Bruce walked out in the tuxedo he bothered to rent. No one appeared to notice his absence at all, not even the team. Though it was juvenile, it left an aching in his chest.
He ended up wandering the city, and when he grew a bit hungry, he entered a decent 24 hour pizza shop. The night was still young so the place was busy. He tried to ignore the stares he got from people. Forgetting how strange it might have been, Bruce ordered two pizzas for himself.
Eating a lot was quite normal. Like a pregnant woman, he was eating for two. In public he tried to maintain a certain image that he was still very much human so he would pretend to have a normal appetite. But this miserable night was in need of two pizzas.
He grabbed his pizzas (extra cheese, pepperoni, and olives), and placed himself in the back.
As he was about to take his first bite, two figures moved in front of him. Two teenages boys stared at him, wide eyed, like they’ve seen a ghost. Both their mouths were agape, and awestruck they tried to speak, but only incoherent sounds came out.
Feeling awkward, he placed his slice down and asked. “Do I know you?”
“Dr. Banner canwepleasetalktoyouifyourenotbusy.” One holding a backpack and wearing a periodic table shirt asked. Barely coherent it was as struggle for Bruce to understand what he was saying, but he grasped the general concept.
“Sure you guys can sit down if you want!” Bruce motioned to the seats in front of him.
Both boys, with abrupt and uncoordinated motions, sat down. As the staring continued, Bruce tried to push some sort of conversation.
“So what did you guys want to talk to me about?” He was preparing for the usual hulk questions he received from people.
What does it feel like? Do you know what’s going on? Is it like napping? How does he stay ripped? The worst one being Can you turn into him right now?
But the chubbier boy said something he never got often. “I love your research Dr. Banner. Also is it true that you have 7 PHds??? How long did it take? I’m aiming for two cause it’s so cool that you can do it.”
“I’m sorry what’s your name?” Bruce felt bad, answering all these questions about him, but not knowing any of their names.
“Oh, I’m Ned!” The boy names Ned flushed a bit, scratching the back of his head. His friend next to him, still didn’t say anything a bit shocked.
Ned hit him with his elbow. “Dude, C’mon say something.”
Bruce tried smiling a bit to let the other boy feel more comfortable. He wasn’t used to these types of fan interactions, so he was trying to emulate the same energy Steve has around his own fanbase. Which was the whole damn country.
After a few moments of staring, Ned rolled his eyes. “I’m really sorry Dr. Banner. Peter’s been a really big fan of yours since he was like eight.”
Bruce’s stomach was growling, but he ignored it.
“I can’t believe.. That I’m meeting Bruce Banner for the time and I’m wearing my periodic table shirt. I must look like a dork.”
Bruce with a chuckle added,”Peter. I have 7 PhDs. What do you think I am?”
And then Peter laughed and it was apparent that all his nerves left him. “You think so??”
“Yeah. Also every scientist needs a periodic table shirt.”
Peter was beaming and Bruce decided that it was okay to have a little bit of attention every once in a while.
Ned was trying to get his attention. “Dr. Banner can you answer some of my questions from before?”
Smiling, Bruce went on to explain some of his earlier research, how long it took him to get his PhDs. It took him a minute to notice Peter staring at his Pizza.
“Do you guys want a slice?” Bruce offered, moving the box to face Ned and Peter and they both eagerly grabbed a slice. Peter, in particular, inhaled his slice, to Bruce’s surprise. He couldn’t underestimate the metabolism of teenage boys.
He continued talking, almost rambling when he got to speaking about his gamma research. It was a subject he didn’t particularly want to touch on, but thought it was important to the boys.
In the middle of his story, he was interrupted by Ned. “Dr. Banner, I’m really sorry sir, but what’s with tux?”
Oh, Bruce almost forgot about that. Peter was tilting his head, curious.
“Well, I ditched a party.”
Peter was nodding like he could empathize. “I’ve done that before.”
“Was it that avengers appreciation banquet?” Ned ask.
Peter whipped his head, wide-eyed once again. “The what?” Then, his eyes became downcast and he mumbled, thinking Bruce couldn’t hear him. “Why wasn’t I invited?”
While the question was odd, Bruce could understand.  Of course, Peter would want to be invited Anyone would with their favorite heroes there and all.
“Yeah, well it was kind of lame, kid.” Bruce was leaning back, his posture becoming laxed. “Anyways everyone there wanted to see the hulk. Seeing me there was a let down..”
Peter furrowed his brows. “Really? That’s dumb.”
Bruce Banner would never forget what he said next.
“Sure. the Hulk is cool and all. But there is only one Bruce Banner.”
Ned nodded in agreement. “Dr. Banner, I don’t care what anyone else says you’re the coolest dude on the planet.”
They continued to eat and Bruce ordered two more pizzas. All of them were indulging themselves in conversation. The warm feeling in his stomach grew with each second. Was this how Tony felt? Steve? Thor? No wonder they had such huge ass egos.
And as much as Peter and Ned appreciate Bruce, he appreciated them back .
“Shoot.” Peter shot up, eyes focused on his phone. He appeared frantic. “I have to go Dr. Banner!! I wish I didn’t. I could probably talk to you all day.” Then the boy aggressively grabbed his hands and shook them with much vigor. Bruce was taken aback by how strong he was.
Ned shook his hands next.
Before leaving the pizza parlor, Peter waved wildly. “I hope to see you again, Dr. Banner.”
Bruce gave a genuine smile. He hoped so, too.

ThorBruce Week Day 3- Comfort
A/N: I’m showing up late to the party, but I thought I should contribute a bit haha.
Summary: “Thor came to the understanding that whether it was Bruce or Hulk, he was loved and would always love them back.” Gorr, the God Butcher shows up and Thor is his target. The revengers come to his aid.
Warnings: Graphic Violence, Characters losings limbs, slight angst.
Wordcount: 1551
The first thing Hulk heard was the crackling. The strident sound of bones cracking reverberated through the spaceship. Hulk threw a blue-green alien, smashing it into a wall before he turned around.
Thor was squirming on the ground resembling a bug rather than god. Towering him was a cloaked creature, the arch of its back curving over like a praying mantis. It wielded a pitch black sword, clutching Thor by the neck.
Through his teeth, Thor spoke. “Why are you doing this?”
The creature’s lips curved into a malicious smile. “I am Gorr, the God Butcher.”
Then as if to slit Thor’s throat, Gorr set the blad up to his neck.
“NooOOO!!!” Hulk screeched, his voice almost halting the battle. Witnessing Thor become meek and fragile after a matter of seconds, caused the Hulk to become fearful.
Another alien jumped at him, he merely swatted them away. Hulk tried to gage his own emotions, but one beast jumped on top of him after another. However, his energy only increased the longer he was away from Thor. Every enemy that charged to him died, beaten against the metal of the ship.
“The God Butcher?” Valkyrie asked, running to a spot. She swung the sword, aiming for the Gorr’s shriveled skull. “You will not harm him.” It was a declaration so assured, and very Valkyrie-esque.
Hulk didn’t care who the monster hovering over Thor was. He had to die. That was Hulk’s conviction. With righteous anger, Hulk will crush him to ashes.
The last of the little putrid, blue monsters stood. Thor still quivering along the floor gave a lingering look towards him. Valkyrie protected him, but even she was beginning to struggle with the God Butcher.
Finally, slaying the last of the henchmen, Hulk rushed to Thor, calling out to him in agony.
“Hulk,” Valkyrie commanded,”Buddy, you have to finish this guy off for me.”
Hulk grunted, yanking the killer off the ground. With one hand, he held Gorr by the skull. His head appeared like a walnut in his hands.
He could snap his neck right there and finish the job, but a moan of pain from Thor, lighted his eyes in rage. He peered into Gorr’s beady eyes growling, revealing a long row of teeth.
“If you think you can kill me, you can’t. This amulet gives me all the power I need. I have slain gods of war, peace, love, famine, nature and now I will add the God of Thunder to my list. It is my destiny to decimate the gods of this universe.”
Hulk scoffed, slamming the body into the floor, smooshing it further down, creating a large dent.
“Hulk is no god. You can’t hurt Hulk.”
Then seeing that the Gorr was still alive, he rammed the body into the floor once more.
Hulk paid no mind to the cries of his enemy. He had experience in ruthless killing and conquering on Sakaar, and those killings were more of an afterthought. But this was brutile, unfiltered fury that he was working with.
Piece by piece, Gorr became fragments of flash and bones, and was forming into compost in Hulk’s hands. Ruthlessly, he tossed the body around, never heading the cries of the dying beast. As blood, splashed all over his chess, Hulk ceased his temper tantrum, considering making the killing more ruthless. .
From the corner of his eyes, Hulk could see Thor limping against Val’s shoulder. One last surge of anger was all it took for him to rip that disgusting creature clean in half.
If the God butcher had any last words, there was no one to hear them.
Thor’s gentle voice rang through. “Hulk. Don’t be like that.” But the butcher was an unrecognizable pile of meat. Banner will surely squirm at the sight of that.
Rushing to Thor’s side, Hulk reached out to Thor. No longer angry, he only felt discomfort at the sight of someone so indestructible, someone that he cared about crumbling before him. With his open hand, still using Val as leverage, Thor reached to Hulk.
They were touching each other’s faces. Thor’s smile was telling him everything would be okay, and Hulk believe that..
He submitted himself to the comfort of Thor’s touch, and allowed himself to rest.
Although Hulk was aware of everything that went down on the ship, Bruce awoke distorted and shocked. Before his eyes was Thor with Val at his side. To his surprised, a giant gash was present at Bruce’s knee, residing all the way down his calf. The bone was visible.
“Thor??” was all he could choke out, a terrified lump in his throat  building up. He felt a bit dizzy at the sight of the blood and guts all over him.
Fighting off his own tears, Bruce grabbed Thor’s free hand and placed himself beneath the other man. He could do at least this much.
Thor’s groaning incited fear into Bruce. He couldn’t lose Thor, not when they just found each other, and not when everything seemed to be going well between them.
The ship had several sleeping compartments, and when they came to Thor’s they helped him to lay down. After making sure Thor was comfortable, Val hurried to the medicine cabinet.
Thor grimaced pain surging through his body. A bead of sweat rolled down his face.
Bruce grabbed his hand and gave it a hard squeeze.
“It’s going to be okay.. I promise I will do anything to make this better.” Resting his head on the hand he was holding, Bruce swallowed his need to sob.
“I feel like I should be telling you that, Love.” Thor chuckled despite the agony he was in.
A moment of silence fell between them, one man crying and the other trying not to. But Thor was more of an emotional lover than a stoic warrior, and the second he heard Bruce’s broken sobs, gentle tears fell down his face too.
When Val returned with the giant emergency kit, she also brought back a surprise.
“Look who I found.” She said as she rushed inside to quickly get to work. Loki didn’t hesitate to follow her inside. It was lucky for him, that when Gorr hunted their ship, he was elsewhere making a deal with the Grandmaster. No one really knew what that man was up to. He could have easily became another on the list of the god-killer’s victims
“Thor!” Loki called out, staring at the profound wound.
“Brother.” Thor hummed, giving Loki a nod, before returning his attention to Bruce who was in shambles, still clinging to his hand.
Approaching the bed with caution, Loki asked, “How I can be of service.”
He face the fierce eyes of a warrior, but no reproach was given. At these moments, Val tended to be more critical of the trickster god, but today she pointed at bottle of liquid.
“Give him some of this. It’s a pain killer. He’s going to need a lot of it.”
Loki nodded, pouring the thick as syrup liquid into a cup, and carrying it to Thor who was gritting his teeth. Through his grimace, Thor drank the medicine as Loki brought it to his face. It tasted like strong liquor mixed with heavy amounts of plants and herbs. Minty, but not refreshing.
Bruce was still holding onto him when Valkyrie stopped inspecting the wound.  Her face was grim.
Loki was beside her, his eyes sorrowful. He shut them and looked at his feet.
Val clasped her hands together. “Thor, I can’t save your leg.”
Bruce gave his cold hand a squeeze, his eyes only watching Thor’s face.
The pain was subsiding only a bit, as he realized that the medicine might have contained something more than all natural ingredients. He was dazed, but not enough.
“Chop the thing off.” His resolve outweighed the other options.
Many years ago, this situation would have been the worst case scenario. But he had seen his brother die twice before, witnessed the loss of Asgard, and more importantly, his people. A leg was nothing.
Bruce stayed with Thor, the entire time, although Loki left the room. Whatever his attitude may tell, deep down he couldn’t bare see his brother hurting.
Bruce couldn’t bare to see Thor in pain either, but he knew that he had to be Thor’s strength and support. He could protect Thor as much as Hulk.
Every second that the surgery went on as Val hacked away, Bruce petted Thor’s head, in gentle motions, wiping off sweat.  Sometimes, he would place his forehead on Thor’s or whisper little secrets in his ear to distract him from the pain. The medicine was only capable of so much.
When it was all over, there was nothing below his right thigh. Loki walked back inside, placing a hand on Thor’s shoulder. He smiled but turned his attention to Bruce’s face, stained with tears.
One hand on his forehead and another in his hand, every ounce of Thor was full of Bruce.
Thor was aware of what Bruce had to grow through, seeing him in such agony must have ripped his soul to bits. But he stayed to be his comfort and Thor came to the understanding that whether it was Bruce or Hulk, he was loved and would always love them back.
