Attended Derby's Sun Lounge last night where It Takes Two To Tango (Marcus Sadler) (@TangoTimeMusic) had an hour-long set for Monday's "Dublounge" night.

Despite dropping some brand new, unreleased material, everything went great for Marcus and he genuinely got the crowd moving with his funky Glitch Hop. Kudos!

The night was something of a first for me too as I'd offered to take some photos of Marcus and Perry Smith (who performs under the alias Xana and runs the Dublounge night) and was admittedly somewhat unfamiliar shooting in this type of scenario. A lot of the snaps turned out acceptable but I definitely think there's room for improvement and further experimentation in the future. I'll always be hyper-critical of my own work but genuinely, shooting options were a bit limited with such a small, mostly-inaccessible DJ booth.

Eventually, after a kick up the arse from my housemate Ben, I mustered up the confidence to have a stroll round and offer to take photos of clubgoers themselves. Again, these turned out decent, but I've taken away a good few notes on how best to shoot in this situation in the future (which hopefully will present itself soon!).

I'll be editing all the photos today and tomorrow...not sure exactly what's going to happen with them yet, but a number of people asked if they'd be uploaded to Facebook, so here's hoping... Regardless, they'll be good for a personal portfolio, so I'll upload them to Flickr once done!
