Why didn't anybody warn me 18 years ago when my daughter was born that my heart would be ripped out when she went away to school? 💔 Holy cow! The roller coaster of emotions have been unreal. We're excited one minute and then balling the next. After driving away i am left with extreme gratitude for family and the chance to love so deeply. Being a mom is the greatest blessing I could ever be given. So excited to see what my sweet Kierra does with the next step of her life. Today in church we had a wonderful discussion on ministering and trying to look for ways to serve others, the way Christ would if he were on the earth. I was reflecting on what a wonderful summer it has been and the many ways people have ministered to me and the small ways I've been able to serve others. I'm grateful for a religion that requires so much of its members. Although it's exhausting at times, I would never trade the experiences we have when we serve each other. I'm so blessed to get to work with the youth, as well as with my own children. They strengthen me and minister to my spirit on as daily basis. Along with that, I'm so grateful to be a wife and mother. No greater ministering happens than inside the walls of our own home. I sure love my sweet family and the chance to be part of this crazy life together ❤ #feelingblessed #lds #lovemyfamily #dtmfamilyjournal

Such an amazing weekend. I'm so grateful for this sweet daughter of mine who is now officially an adult😆. She is the most easy going, loving, fun girl I could have ever asked for. Just thinking today in church how grateful I am for a loving Heavenly Father that gives commandments to keep us safe and happy. With all the sadness and heartache for the families in Florida and for our community who lost a Senior from our high school, these roses brought a ray of sunshine to the day. A group of young men from Herriman High School saved their money and bought 1500 roses to pass out to every girl for Valentine's day. They dressed up and handed a rose to each girl as they came into school. How incredibly sweet is that?! This made my daughter's day and was such a great reminder that there are amazing youth in this world, doing incredible things. You boys are my heroes! #sharegoodness #dtmfamilyjournal #dtmblog
