like... my take is, either you fully buy in that the hermits (or any other mcyt group, e.g. dsmp) have fictional characters they're playing on minecraft, and therefore it's fine to write exactly the same kinds of fic you would about, say, supernatural; or you say, no, the hermits aren't playing a character at all, it's Just Them playing minecraft, in which case you figure all the fanfiction is rpf (with the valid ethical debates about that, and especially shipping and nfsw, that go with). you can't have your cake and eat it with "fic and speculative fanart is fine, but shipping and nsfw are bad".

i take a very dim view of all this '''boundary''' stuff that mcyt fans seem so keen on. people don't get to dictate what you do with their characters, and you're making everyone (fans and youtubers alike!) uncomfy by repeatedly breaching the separation between creator and fandom to ask if they're okay with their character getting railed up the ass or whatever. keep your fandom stuff away from ccs, tag correctly, and maybe block them if they're on the same site. that's it. then everyone gets to live and let live.
